Panther | FlexGripKit
The FlexGripKit a unique modular system which consists primarily of 2 components: BasePlate and Legs.
It is a universal tool for multi-purpose use and can be extended according to your needs.
Get big already with the standard kit!
The BasePlate features a bubble level as well as versatile holes and threads for various purposes.
All legs are identical and can be extended to your requirement. They have a flexible ratchet to cover different angles, made for difficult setups. Each leg can except a seat or any kind of accessories (e. g. lamp).
No Limit – Just Creativity!
The FlexGripKit covers following product categories:
• Table Dolly (linear, curve + freestyle)
• LowBoy / HiHat
• Bazooka Base (3-12 legs)
• Camera Base
• Rigging System (tubes 33-50mm)
• Slider (on ground or tripod)
• Tracking Dolly (36 + 62cm)
• Doorway Dolly (with Tire Set and steering)
Table Dolly
The special thing about the Table Dolly is the WheelBall, which allows not only curved and linear movements, but also „freestyle“ shots.
LowBoy / HiHat
The LowBoy / HiHat can be equipped with 75 – 150mm bowl or with a Mitchell Plate.
Levelling feet can be placed directly to the BasePlate or for bigger footprint, to extention legs. The internal bubble level always keeps you safe!
Bazooka Base
It can be set up with 3 or more (up to 12) legs. The flexible design with the ratchet makes tuff situations easy. High payload capacity of up to 250kg (550lbs) is achieved due to strong, high grade aluminium.
The FlexGripKit becomes a Studio Dolly if used with studio wheels.
Camera Base
In combination with a rotating seat, the FlexGripKit becomes a Camera Base for e. g. sport events.
Rigging System
Using the same ratchet connection of the legs, the clamp is ready to be used for scaffold mounting or rigging. This clamp is designed to hold all tubes with diameters from 33mm to 50mm and can be rotated in two axis.
Slider
Normally, sliders are limited by the length of their rail. Not with the FlexGripKit! You decide the lenght due to a railsystem which can be extended to your needs. It can also be combined with curved rails.
A high grade aluminium tube wheighs only 1,9kg (4lbs) and has a length of 1,5m. Special length upon request.
The FlexGripKit slider can be operated on 36cm or 62cm gauge.
Smooth and silent sliding is guaranteed by using high quality bearings, and an offset positioning of the rubber counted wheels.
Levelling is easy by means of levelling feet if layed down the floor or by simply adjusting the height of the stand if mounted on a higher level.
Tracking Dolly
You can convert the FlexGripKit to a Tracking Dolly by adding 4 identical platforms. High payload capacity of up to 250kg (550lbs) enables to ride the cameraman and assistant. The standard track gauge of 62cm allows this Tracking Dolly to ride on all common tracks which are standard around the world.
As an option economical and compat rubber tracks are available.
Doorway Dolly
A further modification would be an upgrade with a tire set. Wheighing less than 19kg (42lbs) this Doorway Dolly gives you the freedom you need!
Supreme operation is achieved by using the electrical driven P1 column. Get more information of P1 Dolly System in its corresponding Flyer or here.
Transport
Measurements of the small transport case is 66 x 49 x 21 cm (26 x 19 x 8“) and weighs only 7,5kg(17lbs.)
Don’t Wait – Start Right Now!
The FlexGripKit Standard version consists of:
1x BasePlate
1x Screw
1x Euro Mount
2x Clamp
3x Levelling foot
4x Distance bolt
8x Leg

East Broad Top running June 2008
The East Broad Top Railroad is a narrow gauge line that started life as a coal hauler in the late 1800's. It shut down in 1956 due to depressed demand for coal, and increasing costs. Four years later it was reborn when the towns of Orbisonia and Rock Hill Furnace wanted a display for their bicentennial celebration. Kovalchik Salvage did them one better, offering 5 mile rides.
The East Broad Top is no longer moving coal from Broad Top Mountain, but is hauling tourists on Weekends from June through October.
The Friends of the East Broad Top offers tours of the shop complex, which was built around 1900. There are "speeder" rides in the yard, and the Rock Hill Trolley Museum offers rides on historic trolley equipment in that location as well on the old Shade Gap Branch, which has been rebuilt with standard gauge track.
The FEBT is doing restoration work on the buildings in Rock Hill Furnace, as well as in Robertsdale, where the earliest coal mines on the line were located.
Located a few hours from New York, Washington, Philly, and Pittsburgh, the location is roughly midway between Altoona and Harrisburg, PA

qualcomm vs string augmented reality demo
As a part of our continual efforts to explore new technologies and discover what they can do for interactive advertising, we came across two exciting new mobile augmented reality platforms built upon Unity3D. The QCar SDK from Qualcomm being the only solution for Android, and String is the only solution for iOS. Both solutions have their individual strengths and weaknesses, but in the end, both prove to be excellent products. For this demo, we used the demo release version of String, and QCar v1.0.0. Our goal was to create a a multi-platform experience, note differences in workflow, and share what we came up with.
Our Workflow:
The general workflow for AR really isn't any different from any other Unity project. Overall, we'd say String is a little bit easier to work with, because of the in editor desktop preview using your webcam. Using QCar you have to publish to the device every time you want to test anything. As a workaround, another camera was set up to use in editor, and disable/enable when publishing to device. Qualcomm's marker creation process is a little more robust; everything is generated for you on their online developer portal. One annoying using String; you will need to manually tweak the world scale through trial and error if you're trying to get something sized just right. Qualcomm's solution places a plane in your scene that represents the marker (and textured), allowing you to position and scale things relative to it, eliminating guess work.
Tracking and Performance:
We can't accurately gauge performance head to head - testing on a Nexus S and a iPad 2, which are very different from each other. We will say however, that String's solution breaks a little less and finds the target faster. Qualcomm's solution on the other hand tracks a bit more accurately, and allows for quite a bit more freedom in choice of a marker. String's marker requires you to have a black border, surrounded by a white border. On the positive side, this allows you to frame just about anything you want inside, so long as it isn't too symmetrical. This makes it easier to frame existing art (or posters), like done for the movie transformers. Unfortunately, If at any point the camera can't see the entire Marker, the experience breaks.
Qualcomm's marker can be just about anything, with a few limitations. It's internal content needs to be pretty complicated and full of contrast, which is a bit harder than it sounds to make interesting. It tracks based on points generated throughout the image, so you can zoom in to only part of the marker, or stand back and frame the entire thing. It also allows for you to create box shaped markers (imagine using a cereal box as a marker, that can cull objects that pass behind it).
Conclusion:
Overall both solutions work surprisingly well and we're excited to possible use these in commercial projects. In the creation of the car demo, we were able to deploy the same solution to both Android and iPhone, with very little effort. In choosing which one is better of the two, it really depends on the project and what kind of marker you require. It will be interesting to see Qualcomm's iOS solution when it becomes available to give a full head-to-head comparison. If both solutions remain in the state they are in, we think String will need to re-evaluate their pricin
