A boot is a type of footwear and a specific type of shoe. Most boots mainly cover the foot and the ankle and extend up the leg, sometimes as far as the knee or even the hip. Most boots have a heel that is clearly distinguishable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. Traditionally made of leather or rubber, modern boots are made from a variety of materials. Boots are worn both for their functionality – protecting the foot and leg from water, snow, mud or hazards or providing additional ankle support for strenuous activities – and for reasons of style and fashion. High-top athletic shoes are generally not considered boots, even though they do cover the ankle, primarily due to the absence of a distinct heel.

Early boots consisted of separate leggings, soles, and uppers worn together to provide greater ankle protection than shoes or sandals. Around 1000 B.C. these components were more permanently joined to form a single unit that covered the feet and lower leg, often up to the knee. A type of soft leather ankle boots were worn by nomads in eastern Asia, and carried to China to India and Russia around 1200 to 1500 A.D by Mongol invaders. The Inuit and Aleut natives of Alaska developed traditional winter boots of caribou skin or sealskin featuring decorative touches of seal intestine, dog hair and wolverine fur. 17th century European boots were influenced by military styles, featuring thick soles and turnover tops that were originally designed to protect horse mounted soldiers. In the 1700s, distinctive, knee-high boots worn by Hessian soldiers fighting in the American Revolutionary War influenced the development of the iconic heeled cowboy boots worn by cattlemen in the American west.

Jaswinder Singh Bains, more popularly known as Jazzy B, is a Punjabi language bhangra singer-songwriter. He was born on April 1, 1975 in Durgapur, Nawanshahrin tehsil of Jalandhar , Punjab, India. When he was 5 years old, his family moved to Vancouver, Canada. He now resides in Birmingham, England. He has released 12 studio albums, including two religious ones. He has collaborated on many tracks and two soundtracks.

In 2012 he will make his debut as an actor in the Punjabi Film titled Best of Luck with Punjabi Singer and Actor Gippy Grewal and Miss India Universe 2008 Simran Mundi.

Dr. Zeus is the stage name of Baljit Singh Padam, who is a Birmingham based Music Producer.

Zeus gained stardom in India in late 2003 with his hit song "Kangna", which was also starred in "Chaar Din Ki Chandni". He has large fan bases in India, the United States, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other large Punjabi markets. His popularity broadened when he collaborated with South-Asian female trio, Rouge. Dr. Zues blends, raw Punjabi beats with urban whips. Dr. Zeus began his career in 1999 where he was signed to the Envy music label based in Birmingham, UK where he produced Pure Garage - Sue My Ass by the Punjabi singer, Balwinder Singh Safri, from the band Safri Boyz. He had two popular songs on this album, which were "Sahiba Bani Prawa Di" and "Par Langa De Veh".

A year later, he went on to producing his second complete album Deathjamm 4.5. This album is a part of the series Deathjamm Collections from the early 90's. On the album he had a pure Panjabi great similar to Sabar Koti featuring on the main track "Sajno Belio".^{[citation needed]}

Surveen Chawla is an Indian actress, best known for hosting the television show Comedy Circus Ke SuperStars.

Surveen made her debut as Charu in the Balaji Telefilms serial Kahin To Hoga. She then played the role of Kasak in Kasautii Zindagi Kay. She also played the lead role in Kaajjal.

Surveen was seen in the reality dance show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, where she paired up with Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth. The first of the three films, titled Carry On Pandu, will see her playing the female lead opposite Ranvir Shorey. She hosted Comedy Circus ke Superstars on Sony. In 2011, she appeared in her first Punjabi film opposite Jimmy Shergill named Dharti which released in April 2011. The film won six prizes at the 2nd PTC Punjabi Film Awards. Surveen was given the Best Female Debutante Award.

Apart from being an actress, Surveen has appeared in television commercials, magazine covers and print advertisements.

Arda Turan (born 30 January 1987) is a Turkish footballer who plays for Atlético Madrid and the Turkish national team, as a left winger. At the age of 22, prior to the 2009–10 season he was made the captain of Galatasaray.

Arda already has 50 senior national caps and 12 goals for Turkey, and following a successful Euro 2008 campaign, he was ranked 8th in a selection of the 100 Best Young Football Players in the World, published by Spanish magazine Don Balón in July 2008. In January 2011, Arda was voted as the third most popular European footballer of 2009, and the 14th most popular footballer in the world, by the IFFHS.

Arda is a product of the Galatasaray youth. He was promoted to first team by Gheorghe Hagi in 2004–05 season, making his official debut against Bursaspor in a Turkish Cup match on 22 January 2005. He had a spell on loan to fellow Super Lig side Manisaspor in the second half of the 2005–06 season. He was recalled the for the start of the following 2006–07 season, and quickly broke into the first team. It was during this time that he received his first senior international call up. Arda helped Galatasaray to qualify to the Champions League group stage.
