An actor (sometimes actress for female; see terminology) is a person who acts in a dramatic or comic production and who works in film, television, theatre, or radio in that capacity. The ancient Greek word for an "actor," ὑποκριτής (hypokrites), means literally "one who interprets"; in this sense, an actor is one who interprets a dramatic character.
After 1660, when women first appeared on stage, actor and actress were initially used interchangeably for female performers, but later, influenced by the French actrice, actress became the usual term. The etymology is a simple derivation from actor with ess added. The word actor refers to a person who acts regardless of gender, and this term "is increasingly preferred", while actress refers specifically to a female person who acts. Actress "remains in general use", although in a survey of a "wide cross-section of current British English", compiled in 2010, actor was almost twice as commonly found as actress. Within the profession, however, the re-adoption of the neutral term dates to the 1950s–60s, the post-war period when women's contribution to cultural life in general was being re-evaluated.Actress remains the common term used in major acting awards given to female recipients.

In February 2011, he began playing both Victor Frankenstein and his creature opposite Jonny Lee Miller in Danny Boyle's stage adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The play had a three-month run at the National Theatre. In late 2011, he played Major Stewart in Steven Spielberg's War Horse (2011). The film received five BAFTA nominations and six Academy Award nominations, including the Best Picture nomination in 2012. He also played Peter Guillam, one of the pivotal roles in Tomas Alfredson's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (2011), which was nominated for three Academy Awards and 11 BAFTA Awards. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was also nominated for Best Picture in 2012.
Channing Matthew Tatum (born April 26, 1980) is an American actor, film producer, dancer, and former model, best known for his roles in Step Up (2006), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), Dear John (2010), The Vow (2012), and 21 Jump Street (2012). While mostly known for his dramatic performances in Dear John and The Vow, he has since ventured into more comedic roles.
Tatum was born and raised in Cullman, Alabama. His mother, Kay (née Faust), is an airline worker, and his father, Glenn Tatum, worked in construction. His ancestry includes Irish, French and Native American. Tatum's family moved to Mississippi when he was six, and he grew up in the bayous near the Mississippi River, where he lived in a rural setting.
Tatum was athletic while growing up, playing football, soccer, track, baseball, and performing martial arts; he has said that "girls were always [his] biggest distraction in school." As a child, he practiced wuzuquan kung fu under the lineage of 10th dan Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong. Tatum spent most of his teenage years in the Tampa, Florida area and initially attended Gaither High School before going to Tampa Catholic High School. He graduated in 1998 and was voted most athletic. Afterward, Tatum attended Glenville State College in Glenville, West Virginia on a football scholarship, but dropped out. He returned home and started working odd jobs. US Weekly reported that around this time Tatum began working as a stripper at a local nightclub, under the name "Chan Crawford." In 2010, he told an Australian newspaper that he would like to make a movie about his experiences as a stripper. He later moved to Miami, where he was discovered on the street by a model talent scout.

Synopsis | Actors Anonymous By James Franco
Safe little house, safe little friends,
Safe little thoughts to keep you safe
From all those big bad wolves that eat you up.
(oh shit)
Safe in your room,
Safe as a tomb,
Sleep in a coffin made of glass.
It takes a big facade to hide your cries?
Can you make this last?
Cause now I'm not so sure,
Are you up to the task?
Sometimes the sickness is the cure.
You're searching so hard,
You've lost yourself
Does it help to play as you're wasting away
Like a silver screen cliche?
Cause after all we're actors on a stage.
(oh oh, oh oh. oh oh, oh oh)
Will it help you to wait for the moment to break,
Is it real or is it fate?
All we are chapters on a page.
(oh oh, oh oh. oh oh, oh oh.)
Cause after all we're actors on a stage.
Hearing you now, shedding the doubts
They'll be no past or future tense.
Regrets a waste of time and plans change.
(will always change)
Oh, some for the worst,
Some for the best,
You know you can always get your way.
So worried about what's next,
You lost today.
(You lost today)
Can you make this last?
Cause now I'm not so sure,
Are you up to the task?
Sometimes the sickness is the cure.
You're searching so hard,
You've lost yourself
Does it help to play as you're wasting away
Like a silver screen cliche?
Cause after all we're actors on a stage.
(oh oh, oh oh. oh oh, oh oh)
Will it help you to wait for the moment to break,
Cause it really isn't fate.
All we are just chapters on a page.
(oh oh, oh oh. oh oh, oh oh.)
Cause after all we're actors on a stage.
Can you let yourself,
Can you let yourself,
Will you let yourself let go?
Let go.
Can you let yourself,
Can you let yourself,
Won't you let yourself?
Just let yourself let go.
Let go.
Safe little house, safe little friends,
Safe little thoughts to keep you safe.
Does it help you to play as you faded away,
Like a memory?
Cause all we are just actors on a page.
(Whoa oh oh)
I know we're not the last
I know we're not the last lot of people under fire
We're not
I know we're not alone
I know we're not alone
We are sinking on this ship
We are
I know we're not in love
I know we're not in love
We are acting
We are acting so bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
Whoa oh oh
Whoa oh oh
I know we don't belong
I know we don't belong to the last line of defence or help
If all the world's a stage
If all the world's a stage then we are actors
We are acting so bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
So bad
Whoa oh oh
Just for a moment, you reached out for me, as I failed, to act so elegantly
Talking for hours, but we´d never see, how our lives would change
Indefinitely
Pre Chorus
I couldn't take it, I knew I would brake it
The bond remained broken, the words left unspoken
Chorus
I wish I could hold her
I wish she was closer
I wish that she'd someday could see me
But I kept changing my reasons, changing my reasons
I´ll keep my pose here, still waiting to see, if a chance will occur right
Before me
You keep your distance, an arms length from me, in disguise, you will try
To hide from me
Pre Chorus
I couldn't take it, I knew I would brake it
The bond remained broken, the words left unspoken
Chorus
I wish I could hold her
I wish she was closer
I wish that she'd someday could see me
But I kept changing my reasons, changing my reasons
To be
Pre Chorus
I couldn't take it, I knew I would brake it
The bond remained broken, the words left unspoken
Chorus
I wish I could hold her
I wish she was closer
I wish that she'd someday could see me
But I kept changing my reasons, changing my reasons
I wish I could hold her
I wish she was closer
I wish that she'd someday could see me
But I kept changing my reasons, changing my reasons
