Latino is a term used chiefly in the United States to refer to people of Latin American extraction or descent, though the term has also been used, perhaps incorrectly, as a synonym for Hispanic. The term latino is used to refer to males only or a combination of males and females in a group, whereas the term latina is used to refer to females only.
The U.S. Government has defined Hispanic or Latino persons as being "persons who trace their origin [to] . . . Central and South America, and other Spanish cultures." The United States Census uses the ethnonym Hispanic or Latino to refer to "persons who trace their origin or descent to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Spanish speaking Central and South America countries, and other Spanish cultures." It is also stated that, "Origin can be considered as the heritage, nationality group, lineage, or country of the person or the person's parents or ancestors before their arrival in the United States. People who identify their origin as Hispanic or Latino may be of any race." The AP Stylebook's recommended usage of Latino includes not only persons of Spanish-speaking ancestry, but also more generally includes persons "from -- or whose ancestors were from -- . . . Latin America," including Brazilians.
"Hansel and Gretel" ( /ˈhænsəl/ or /ˈhɑːnsəl/, and /ˈɡrɛtəl/; German: Hänsel und Gretel, diminutives of Johannes and Margaret) is a well-known fairy tale of German origin, recorded by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic hag living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her. The tale has been adapted to various media, most notably the opera Hänsel und Gretel (1893) by Engelbert Humperdinck and a stop-motion animated feature film made in the 1950s based on the opera. Under the Aarne–Thompson classification system, "Hansel and Gretel" is classified under Class 327.
The following summary is based on an 1853 anonymous translation by Iona and Peter Opie in 1972.
Hansel and Gretel are the young children of a poor woodcutter. When a great famine settles over the land, the woodcutter's second, abusive wife decides to take the children into the woods and leave them there to fend for themselves, so that she and her husband do not starve to death. The woodcutter opposes the plan but finally, and reluctantly, submits to his wife's scheme. They are unaware that in the children's bedroom, Hansel and Gretel have overheard them. After the parents have gone to bed, Hansel sneaks out of the house and gathers as many white pebbles as he can, then returns to his room, reassuring Gretel that God will not forsake them.

He is married to a beautiful heiress and is the host of the most controversial TV series in the land. But trouble in paradise emerges as soon as the show hits the air. Mysterious phone calls, murder, extortion, desperation and kidnapping are just a few of the scenarios you will experience in this roller coaster ride. Full frontal nudity and some violent sex adds to this mix to make it a unique viewing experience. With Brent Collins from Payton Collins: Serial Rapist and a new cast, this film from cult writer/director Toby Ross is blast.

Gail: Yeah, I had a dream Charlie. But now I'm awake, and I hate my dream.
David Kleinfeld: Fuck you and your self-righteous code of the goddamn streets. Did it pull you out of a 30 year stint in only 5 years? No, it didn't, I did. Did it get you acquitted 4 fucking times? No, it didn't, I did, so fuck you, fuck the streets, your whole goddamn world is this big, and there's only one rule, you save your own ass.
Carlito: If I ever, I mean if I ever see you here again, you die.::[Snaps fingers]::Carlito: Just like that.
Carlito: It's who I am Gail, it's what I am. Right or wrong, I can't change that.
Benny Blanco: I don't know, but there may be some mis-fuckin'-understanding, I don't know man, but maybe you don't remember me, my name is Benny Blanco...::Carlito: Maybe I don't give a shit. Maybe I don't remember the last time I blew my nose either. Who the fuck are you, I should remember you? What, you think you like me? You ain't like me motherfucker. You a punk. I've been with made people, connected people. Who you been with? Chain-snatching, jive-ass, maricon motherfuckers. Why don't you get lost? Go a head, snatch a purse. Come on, take a fuckin' walk.
Carlito: [during his trial] But my time in the Sterling Correctional facilities of Greenhaven and Sing Sing has not been in vain. I've been cured; born again, like the Watergaters. I know you've heard this rap before, your honor, I've changed. I've changed, and it didn't take no thirty years like your honor thought, but only five.
Carlito: [voiceover and closing narration] Sorry boys, all the stitches in the world can't sew me together again. Lay down... lay down. Gonna stretch me out in Fernandez funeral home on Hun and Ninth street. Always knew I'd make a stop there, but a lot later than a whole gang of people thought... Last of the Moh-Ricans... well maybe not the last. Gail's gonna be a good mom... New improved Carlito Brigante... Hope she uses the money to get out. No room in this city for big hearts like hers... Sorry baby, I tried the best I could, honest... Can't come with me on this trip, Loaf. Getting the shakes now, last call for drinks, bars closing down... Sun's out, where are we going for breakfast? Don't wanna go far. Rough night, tired baby... Tired...
Carlito: Favor gonna kill you faster than a bullet.
Carlito: If you can't see the angles no more, you're in trouble.
Carlito: Don't take me to no hospital, please. Fuckin' emergency rooms don't save nobody. Som-bitches, always pop you at midnight, when all they got is a Chinese intern with a dull spoon.

An Outrageous Story of Greed, Lust and Vanity in America
Peter Fallow: Caroline, you devil.::Caroline Heftshank: Peter, you pig!
Peter Fallow: If you're going to live in a whorehouse, there's only one thing you can do: be the best damn whore around.
Sir Gerald Moore: I was at dinner last evening, and halfway through the pudding, this four-year-old child came alone, dragging a little toy cart. And on the cart was a fresh turd. Her own, I suppose. The parents just shook their heads and smiled. I've made a big investment in you, Peter. Time and money, and it's not working. Now, I could just shake my head and smile. But in my house, when a turd appears, we throw it out. We dispose of it. We flush it away. We don't put it on the table and call it caviar.
Judge Leonard White: [to court room] Racist? You dare call me racist? Well I say unto you, what does it matter the color of a man's skin if witnesses purjure themselves. If a prosecutor enlists the perjurers. When a district attorney throws a man to the mob for political gain, and men of the cloth, men of God, take the prime cuts? Is that justice?::Judge Leonard White: I don't hear you...::Judge Leonard White: Let me tell you what justice is. Justice is the law, and the law is man's feeble attempt to set down the principles of decency. Decency! And decency is not a deal. It isn't an angle, or a contract, or a hustle! Decency... decency is what your grandmother taught you. It's in your bones! Now you go home. Go home and be decent people. Be decent.
Judy McCoy: I'm leaving you! [pause] After the party... and now, if you will excuse me, we have guests.
Maria Ruskin: [Maria and Sherman running in the car after take the wrong way and ending up on Bronx] Oh Sherman, LOOK OUT!::Maria Ruskin: Oh Christ, Sherman, we're in the middle of a godamn war zone and you're worried about doing the right thing?
Sherman McCoy: I suppose we could still go to the police. We could get a very talented lawyer...::Maria Ruskin: And put our heads right into the tiger's mouth? I'm the one who was driving the car. Don't you think I'm the one who should make the decision? And I say, no. No, Sherman. Trust me. Nothing is going to come of this little newspaper article. Absolutely nothing.
Sherman McCoy: I understand you went to Yale.::Tom Killian: Yeah. You, too. Huh?::Sherman McCoy: What did you think of it?::Tom Killian: It was okay. As law schools go. They give you the scholarly view. You know. It's terrific for anything you want to do - as long as it doesn't involve real people.
Maria Ruskin: [when she and Sherman end up in Bronx] Sherman... where are all the white people?
Maria Ruskin: [while on Bronx] Sherman, I'm coming from the South and I'm starting to not like this very much!
Duell McCall: I came for the rifle shipment.::Gun Runner: You ain't Pike!::[McCall points a gun at the gun runner's head]::Duell McCall: I am now.
[McCall is using the alias Henry Booth]::Caroline: Mr. Booth, why don't you leave Magnolia?::Duell McCall: Now?::Caroline: There's enough corruption in this town without you.::Duell McCall: And what makes you think I'm corrupted?::Caroline: You're here.

Randolph, Molloch's Bodyguard: This is not your usual tourist attraction.::Holland: We're not usual tourists. You know what I mean?::Randolph, Molloch's Bodyguard: Aha... Life just gets dull and nothing like a little variety to spice things up.::Holland: That's right. Nancy and me, we come from a small town up in Nebraska. And we always have to go someplace else for excitement and variety, you know?::Randolph, Molloch's Bodyguard: Bart, just what kind of excitement are you looking for?::Holland: You know, me and Nancy, we've been into a lot of things. We learned tricks you wouldn't believe. We've been into things like wife-swapping... You married?::Randolph, Molloch's Bodyguard: No, I'm divorced. Rhiana Hidalgo: You read lips?::Holland: Yes.::Rhiana Hidalgo: I'm sorry. I now realize I was mistaken.::Holland: Decided I don't look like a killer?::Rhiana Hidalgo: I've decided I should keep my opinions to myself.
Colonel Victor Aristos: Ah, Clement, a pleasure. And my dear senora Molloch. Please be seated.::Dr. Clement Molloch: Why are we here, Aristos?::Colonel Victor Aristos: Relax, Clement. May I offer you a drink?::Claire, Molloch's Sister: Just mineral water.::Colonel Victor Aristos: There is a problem, Clement. The Council for Central American States has just concluded its meetings in Costa Rica.::Claire, Molloch's Sister: Hypocrites. Every government represented condems my brother publicly and then welcomes him privately.::Colonel Victor Aristos: They have called for another meeting and study of human rights violations.::Dr. Clement Molloch: Human rights violations? There is no such thing. There is only the security of the state and those who'd undermine that security.::Colonel Victor Aristos: We must play the game.::Claire, Molloch's Sister: What are you suggesting?::Colonel Victor Aristos: A move.::Claire, Molloch's Sister: My brother had a great deal to do with making this country secure, Victor. If his work should have earned us a welcome anywhere, it's here.::Colonel Victor Aristos: I only reflect my president, senora.
Cripple: Hey, mister, do you want some dope?::Holland: Er?::Cripple: I said, dope. Do you want any?::Holland: Do you have elephant?::Cripple: Heh?::Holland: Do you have Mingtoydop?::Cripple: Heh?::Holland: I guess you don't.

Latino-Divno Je Biti Nekome Nesto
[Intro: Joell Ortiz]
Uhh, look around in my neighborhood (aquí en el barrio, tú sabes)
See how we live, see right there on that corner
That's where they sell the drugs (la manteca broder)
Run the numbers and, play dominoes, whistle at the fly ladies
You know, I'm Latino, hahahahaha (pa que sepa)
[Joell Ortiz:]
The dope gets sold by the bodega
While y'all call it dope, we call it the manteca
We don't look for lotto numbers in the newspaper
We play it right over the counter by the Now & Laters
Sit down on milk crates and play dominoes
¡Capicu! Slam it down, tell 'em adios
Another round of beers before we go upstairs
And watch a fuzzy TV on some of the oldest chairs
Relax, take a bath and get nice and clean
Come out just in time for dinner, you know rice and beans
A little chicken, maybe tostones, it's up to Ma
She might be tired keepin this house all up to par
Sometimes I look out the window and see some nice wheels
I got a thing for rims, they give me slight chills
Round here you get killed over a ice-grill
Guns pop but the O.G.'s carry knives still (word)
[Chorus: Joell Ortiz (La Bruja)]
(Latinooooo) I'm that and I'm proud
If you don't know us let me tell you about (Latinooooos)
We got beautiful women (la-la-la la-la-la la-la)
And they all seem to know their way around the kitchen
I'm (Latinooooo) yeah we stick together
We had hard lives so our skin is thick forever
We (Latinoooooos) I'm that and I'm proud (la la la la la la laaaa)
If you don't know us let me tell you about
[Joell Ortiz:]
See e'ry block got a different crew
This kid I knew got paralyzed cause of his tattoo
And he wasn't in a gang
Just some young punk tryin to come up and get a name
Put a bullet in his brain, it's a shame
But yo, on a better note
Latina women look so good from head to toe, get 'em and never let 'em go
Baseball is big in my town
So is boxing, a hundred he don't see the ninth round
These young girls is fresh, they like to get piped down
Babies havin babies, guess who on the WIC line now?
Guess who got welfare? Guess who on Medicaid?
Guess who left they kid with their girl for eleven days?
Without callin, cause he's ballin
One year from now he'll have a child support warrant
It happen all the time in my community
That's the difference between someone like you and me - I'm
[Chorus]
[Joell Ortiz:]
Big Chino got a truck, and a bike, and a boat
But Chino got a gun cause his life full of coke
And Chino havin fun, he don't like bein broke
But Chino gon' be done, FBI is no joke
And I don't want Chi' to get knocked
When the truck around he buy ice cream for the block
See where I'm from the kids look up to the hustlers
Even if they're family with some of the customers
My abuela used to tell me to stay off the corner
You heard what happened to Mrs. Rivera's daughter?
See she had got caught in the crossfire right there in broad day
Shot her in the back tryin run in the hallway
By my buildin all you hear is, "Oye
Ten cuidado la policia esta en la esquina de Broadway"
There's action all the time in my neighborhood
But see we all mind our business like a neighbor should
See this one right here is for all my Latinos around the world
Around the world man, there's so many of us man
Be proud of who you are man, I love y'all niggaz
Joell Ortiz
[Chorus: w/ ad libs]
[Joell Ortiz & La Bruja:]

Não consigo te entender, você tá me fazendo chorar.
