Fine spells, isolated showers over the South Island especially in the north and west and also over the northern half of the North Island.
Wednesday
North Island, isolated afternoon and evening showers over the northern half and showers and southerlies developing in the south from afternoon. South Island, showers in the west clearing from Fiordland. A period of showers spreading up eastern areas with a southerly change.
Thursday
Mainly fine. A few showers in the north and east of the North Island and west of the South Island.
Friday
North Island, fine apart from a few afternoon showers over the northern half. South Island, showers in the west and south and mainly fine elsewhere.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods Tuesday and Wednesday with northeasterlies. Showers and fresh cooler southerlies on Thursday.
