Vera Mindy Chokalingam (born June 24, 1979), better known as Mindy Kaling, is an American actress, comedian, writer and producer who plays Kelly Kapoor on the NBC sitcom The Office. Kaling is also a co-executive producer and writer of several of the show's episodes.
Kaling was born Vera Chokalingam in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to a Tamil father and Bengali mother from India. Her father, Avu, is an architect, and her mother, Swati, is an obstetrician/gynecologist.
She explains that she has been known as Mindy ever since her mother was pregnant with her when her parents were living in Nigeria. They were already planning to move to the U.S. and wanted a "cute American name" for their daughter, and liked the name Mindy from the TV show Mork & Mindy. The name Vera is the name of the "incarnation of a Hindu goddess."
She graduated from Buckingham Browne & Nichols, a private school in Cambridge in 1997. The following year, she entered Dartmouth College, where she was a member of the improvisational comedy troupe "The Dog Day Players" and the a cappella group "The Rockapellas", and the creator of the comic strip "Badly Drawn Girl" in The Dartmouth (the college's daily newspaper), as well as writing for the Dartmouth Jack-O-Lantern (the college's humor magazine). She graduated in 2001.
The Mindy Project (formerly titled It's Messy) is an upcoming American sitcom that will air on Fox in the 2012–13 television season. The series, created by co-producers Howard Klein and Mindy Kaling (who also serves as the series' star), is being produced by Universal Television.
The series follows a single physician (played by Kaling) with a Bridget Jones-like persona as she tries to navigate her way through her personal and professional life.
The series, which Kaling had developed as a starring vehicle for herself at Universal Television where she has had an overall deal due to her role as a co-star/writer/executive producer on The Office, was intended to be a pilot for NBC as part of a program set up to promote projects featuring shows created under the network’s diversity writing program. But with the blessing of NBC chief and Universal studio executive Bob Greenblatt, the pilot for the proposed title It’s Messy was ultimately released from NBC's pilot projects on January 27, 2012. Universal then sent the script to Fox executives who read it over that following weekend. On May 7, 2012, Fox greenlighted the pilot. On May 9, 2012, Fox placed a series order for the comedy. Two days later, the title was changed from It's Messy to The Mindy Project. It is expected to premiere during the 2012–13 television season.
Andre Romelle Young (born February 18, 1965), better known by his stage name Dr. Dre, is an American rapper, record producer, record executive, entrepreneur, and occasional actor. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and a former co-owner and artist of Death Row Records. He has produced albums for and overseen the careers of many rappers, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Game. As a producer he is credited as a key figure in the popularization of West Coast G-funk, a style of rap music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow, heavy beats. As of 2011, Dr. Dre is ranked as the third richest figure in the American hip hop scene by Forbes with a net worth of $250 million.
Dre began his career in music as a member of the World Class Wreckin' Cru and he later found fame with the influential gangsta rap group N.W.A with Eazy-E, Ice Cube, MC Ren, and DJ Yella which popularized the use of explicit lyrics in rap to detail the violence of street life. His 1992 solo debut, The Chronic, released under Death Row Records, led him to become one of the best-selling American performing artists of 1993 and to win a Grammy Award for the single "Let Me Ride". In 1996, he left Death Row to establish his own label, Aftermath Entertainment. Under that label, he produced a compilation album titled Dr. Dre Presents the Aftermath in 1996, and released a solo album titled 2001 in 1999, for which he won the Grammy producer's award the next year.
If that is what you're making then why are children naked
Dying in the streets of the day
Homeless this man on a corner begging for a quarter saying sir can you spare some change, oh
I wish that I could take all the pain in the world and make it go away, but I can't
The work you do will sure inspire you
To go loud, scream out, don't stay in a box, break out
Every boy and every girl gotta make a difference in this world,
Gotta make a difference in this world, gotta make a difference in this world
Gotta make, gotta make, gotta make, gotta make, gotta make a difference in this world
Don't go acting like a fool, shoot some schools, violence escalating everyday
Has the world gone mad, looking at we're at?
I'm afraid to have a baby cause it's not safe
I wish that I could take all the pain in the world and make it go away, but I can't
The work you do will sure inspire you
To go loud, scream out, don't stay in a box, break out
Every boy and every girl gotta make a difference in this world,
Gotta make a difference in this world, gotta make a difference in this world
Gotta make, gotta make, gotta make, gotta make, gotta make a difference in this world
I still believe that with love we can conquer
All men are equal and God is our Father
Ain't nobody gotta hate tonight, nobody got a dynamite, oh
Now we will join hands tonight six billion straw won't stop them go
Go loud, scream out, don't stay in a box, break out
Every boy and every girl gotta make a difference in this world,
Gotta make a difference in this world, gotta make a difference in this world
Gotta make, gotta make, gotta make, gotta make, gotta make a difference in this world
I still believe that with love we can conquer
All men are equal and God is our Father
Gotta make a difference in this world, gotta make a difference in this world
This one will always remain unfinished.
A few more lines that don't make any sense.
I guess I ran out of words again.
It would take nine furry lives for me to get through with this.
I'm walking on a matress.
I'm talking without an accent.
If you would be me, you'd rather be yourself.
I'm derailed.
I'm digging my own grave.
I saw a picture of myself ten years from now.
I didn't like what I saw.
It's funny how everything always turns out fine in the end.
Maybe I'll add a few more lines. Maybe I won't.
Does it make a difference to you? Because to me it doesn't.
So let's have fun and smile
in the abbey of disguise, try to look into your eyes (face)
but you turn away from me 'cause I'm too ordinary
who am I to miss the point of my self-deceptioned lies
self despair, how can I dare to dream on ?
if it's true that it makes no difference, under any circumstance,
then I'm wrong 'cause I'm still tryin' to interfere with what I’ve got
if it makes no difference, far beyond my common sense,
how come that I’m so determined if it makes no difference
see my microcosm turn, against me once again
smash the frame, can’t stay the same, in this cross-relational ride
who am I to miss the point of my self-deceptioned lies
self despair, how can I dare to dream on ?
if it's true that it makes no difference, under any circumstance,
then I’m wrong 'cause I’m still tryin' to interfere with what I’ve got
if it makes no difference, far beyond my common sense,
how come that I’m so determined if it makes no difference
if only I knew what is comin' my way
I could consider a change right away
if it's true that it makes no difference, under any circumstance,
then I’m wrong 'cause I’m still tryin' to interfere with what I’ve got
if it makes no difference, far beyond my common sense,
Oh, hey...
Oh, yeah, oh, yeah
To you
Mmm...mmm...mmm...

You said when you met you'd never forget me
And I thought my problems were gone
But you changed all the while and you did it in style
How could I think that this was wrong
Some times it stops we can't compromise that
But I think back to all the relations we had
That we had
They say things could change neither one of us claims
That the other was wrong at all
But you blend different bits 2 complete opposites
And you're asking for both to fall
Some times it stops we can't compromise that
But I think back to all the relations we had
And remember this moment opinions we mine
You put up all these changes i'll fall back in line
But I can't make my thoughts just go away
Some times it stops we can't compromise that
But I think back to all the relations we had
And remember this moment opinions we mine
You put up all these changes i'll fall back in line
You said when you met you'd never forget me
And I thought my problems were gone
But you changed all the while and you did it in style

Hey, are you someone who can't help his pain?
Do you feel sad, feel like all was in vain?
Are you controlled by a depressive mind?
Are you the slave of your thoughts, all the time?
Come, let me show you
How they control you
See the difference!
You'll notice the difference
You'll soon make a difference
It's time to learn that it's all in your hand
You're not a victim, you must understand
Better erase what's not worth to be thought
Throw all this ballast you've kept overboard
Come, let me show you
How it controls you
Tell the difference!
You'll notice the difference
[Words: Ahola]
[Music: Ahola]
With the winds of fortune they went
Out to the sea to find land of the free
Set their sail for the setting of sun
Placed their hope in the journey begun
Hear the captain cry his commands
Feel the swaying of the ship, Can you
see the approaching storm?
That will take, will take it's price
[Chorus:]
Sail, sail, sail away, now
Dream, dream of green shores
Sail, sail, sail away, now
May the gods help on your way
May the fortune play part in this play
Fifty men and fifty souls
Placed their lives for the honorable goal
Set their sail for the setting of sun
Placed their hope in every single one
Hear the sailors cry for their life
As the sea cries for more, Can you
see the mast in the ocean
Sea will take, will take it's price
[Chorus:]
Sail, sail, sail away, now
Dream, dream of green shores
Sail, sail, sail away, now
May the gods keep from going astray
May the winds whisper the way...
Sail, sail, sail away, now
Dream, dream of green shores
Sail, sail, sail away, now
Sail to the haven of souls
Sail away where great heroes go...
What is it that we have to do to change this world?
What can I do? What can you do?
Sitting at home all alone just watching my t.v
The news comes on the world’s gone wrong
That’s how it seems to me
See people dying , people crying, got no food to eat
It ain’t my life so tell me why it means so much to me?
Let’s try to open our hearts
It’s not too late to make a brand new start
Here and now, I believe
There are solutions to the problems we see
We should all take a chance
Don’t be afraid to lend a helping hand
This world could be so beautiful,
If we just worked together to make a difference today.
Lalalalala la…oh
Oh yeah yeah
I took a walk down by the school yard where I used to play
Now there’s no children only people spending wasted days
The same old lady holds her hand out by the corner store
I always give her what I can you know she still needs more
Let’s try to open our hearts
It’s not too late to make a brand new start
Here and now, I believe
There are solutions to the problems we see
We should all take a chance
Don’t be afraid to lend a helping hand
This world could be so beautiful,
If we just worked together to make a difference today.
Just gotta make a difference
Yay yeah
Open up your eyes
Don’t you realize they need you
Let’s not run away, listen when I say
That I believe, if we just opened our hearts
It’s not too late to make a brand new start
Here and now, I believe
There are solutions to the problems we see (problems we see)
We should all take a chance (take a chance)
Don’t be afraid to lend a helping hand (a helping hand)
This world could be so beautiful,
If we just worked together to make …
Here and now, (here and now), I believe
There are solutions to the problems we see (problems we see)
We should all take a chance (just take a chance)
Don’t be afraid to lend a helping hand (a helping hand)
This world could be so beautiful, (so beautiful baby)
If we just worked together to make,
Ask me what I think,
But expect to hear the truth.
I will show you the difference between me and you.
And you think life is glorious,
But I think it's overblown.
Another day like this and I'll be,
Hanging up the phone.
If this is so dangerous, why are you here?
Is it to play with my mind?
I ask you what you want from me,
But I don't really think you know.
And still we stand here in pain,
Or walkout,
Afraid of being alone.
And you don't have to say a word,
I can see it on your face.
And you have showed me once before,
I'm easily replaced.
If this is so dangerous, why are you here?
Is it to play with my mind?
If this is what you wanted, tell me,
Where are you now?
This is tearing up my heart.
My heart.
I wish that you could hear my words,
As clearly as I say them,
And they would echo through your mind.
If this is so dangerous, why are you here?
Is it to play with my mind?
If this is what you wanted, tell me,
Where are you now?
This is tearing up my heart.
My heart.
Ask me what I think,
But expect to hear the truth. (My heart)
I will show you the difference between me and you.
Ask me what I think,
But expect to hear the truth. (My heart)
[Verse 1]
Niggas wanna have some, all I wants to have it all
They wanted something different, nigga problem solved
Drunk off the high life, death is when I'll sleep it
off,
Lifes a hangover and this rapping shits my tylenol
I could call any girl in my phone right now,
Have a pillow and a mouth watch her bite down,
She like me cause I'm flier than a kite now,
Its funny how I get these write ups on what I write
down
Chick on my left arm, she could write The King And I,
I'd rather die the truth, these niggas live a lie
Dressed like a gentleman, my mouth is never civilized,
See me as a hero, use my little brother's eyes.
Always do me like I love self portraits,
Now these fake niggas say hay like horse shit,
People treat me different but i'm still the same
person,
I don't know what it means, i just know that its worth
I know i'm not perfect, but I am original
Wallet stay healthy, vitamins, minerals,
Gotta feed the bitch right, stuff her full of spinach,
Facebook messages asking how I did,
No time to respond, time is money, lifes a debit card,
Spend it on the right shit, these bitches want you
overdrawn,
Drake with dyslexia, I have gone so far
My life is a green light, I always try to go hard.
[Chorus?]
I am just Different (repeated)
[Verse 2]
I am so different, the games on lid eye(?),
Listen to my mixtape, change your all shit up,
Salad backstage, I just wanna eat alone,
Crowd at my shows more mixed than Rashida Jones,
Haters say I'm changing, but I haven't changed at all
Indie kids saying that I ruined all their favorite
songs,
Hood niggas sayin that I'm whiter than that colgate,
Hatin on my progress, I'm a long ways from Bro Rape,
Black Clark Kent, all I needs a louis lane,
But let her spend the night once and watch her go
insane,
Voice mail, E-mail, sending text message,
We are not engaged just because I made breakfast,
Believe me you don't want this, I am all about
business,
Life is a bitch, I must be dating her sisters,
Got to be different, take chances like pictures,
Emerge victorious, stunt on ya'll bitches,
I'm not at the top, but ya'll niggas know I'm comin
fast,
Rap will change after me, all of this will come to
pass,
Rappers start to use real instruments and shit,
Niggas start to copy me, dumb it down and make it rich,
I am not a novelty, just the first to do it different,
I have always been this good, you were just laughing
too hard to listen,
Got my career overnighted, maybe you should order one,
Springsteen this city cause this city we were born to
run.
[Chorus?]
