Roger Clinton has a cameo as himself (as the Sheffields' next door neighboor). Joey Dente and Brian Kirkwood are also featured.

Barbara Howard appears as the fertility doctor, and Skylar Littlefield also appears.

Renee Taylor guest stars as Fran's mother, Sylvia; and Wallace Shawn plays the financier. Ben Vereen has a cameo.
Episode 3.3: Dope Diamond Fran is swept off her feet by (get this!) a suave sophisticated British gent, by the name of Jules (Ian Buchanan), and when he proposes, Sylvia is ecstatic, but Maxwell smells a rat. Renee Taylor guest stars as Fran's mother Sylvia, and Anne Guilbert guest stars as Grandma Yetta. Ian Buchanan guest stars as Jules Kimball; also appearing were Cyndi James Gossett, Amanda Carlin and Ron Recasner.
Episode 2.16: Canasta Masta Maxwell is worried about Brighton and he demands that Brighton participate in a team sport, but he is appalled when Brighton's place on a team ends up being a spot on Fran's family's canasta team which is playing in a tourney in Atlantic City. Renee Taylor guest stars as Fran's mother, and Anne Guilbert guest stars as Grandma Yetta. Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme have a cameo.
Episode 1.11: A Plot for Nanny Fran's mother has a surprise gift for her: a cemetary plot. And it's not exactly a grave undertaking for Fran when she begins dating the gorgeous funeral (Matt McCoy). Renee Taylor guest stars as Fran's mother.

Seattle Post 2012-12-18Renée Taylor (born Renée Wechsler; March 19, 1933) is an American actress, Academy Award nominated writer and one-time director, best known for having played Fran Drescher's title character's outspoken mother, Sylvia Fine, on the TV series The Nanny.
Born in the Bronx, New York, Taylor worked as a comedian in the early 1960s at the New York City nightclub Bon Soir. Her opening act was a then unknown Barbra Streisand. In 1968, Taylor played Eva Braun in the feature film The Producers.[citation needed]
Taylor and her husband, Joseph Bologna, co-wrote the Broadway hit comedy Lovers and Other Strangers, and received Oscar nominations for having written the 1970 film adaptation. In 1971, the couple co-wrote and starred in the film Made for Each Other. Their screenplay received a nomination for the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy.
From 1992 to 1994, Taylor played the stereotypically overbearing Jewish mother of the lead character on the HBO series Dream On. In 1993, she was cast as the mother of Richard Lewis, and the ex-wife of Don Rickles, in the Fox sitcom Daddy Dearest, which was canceled after a short two-month run in the fall. At about the same time, Taylor was slated for sporadic guest appearances on the new CBS sitcom The Nanny, playing Sylvia Fine, the mother of Fran Drescher's title character. Several episodes into The Nanny, and after the cancelation of Daddy Dearest, Taylor was upgraded to a recurring cast member, and eventually a full-time cast member by the third season. Her roles on the two broadcast network series were concurrent with her work on Dream On.
Francine Joy "Fran" Drescher (born September 30, 1957) is an American film and television actress, comedian, producer, and activist. She is best known for her role as Fran Fine in the hit TV series, The Nanny.
Drescher made her screen debut with a small role in the 1977 blockbuster film Saturday Night Fever prior to appearing in films such as the biopic American Hot Wax (1978), and Wes Craven's horror film Summer of Fear (1978). In the 1980s, she gained recognition as a comedic actress in the films The Hollywood Knights (1980), Doctor Detroit (1983), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), and UHF (1989) while establishing a television career with guest appearances on several series. In 1993, she achieved wider fame as Fran Fine in her own sitcom vehicle The Nanny, for which she was nominated for two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Television Series during the show's run. She received further recognition for her performances in Jack (1996) and The Beautician and the Beast (1997) and reinforced her reputation as a leading sitcom star with Living With Fran (2005–2006) and Happily Divorced (2011–present).
The Nanny is an American television sitcom originally broadcast 1993–1999, starring Fran Drescher as Fran Fine, a Jewish Queens native who becomes the nanny of three children from the New York/British high society.
Created and executive produced by Drescher and her then-husband Peter Marc Jacobson, The Nanny took much of its inspiration from Drescher's personal life growing up in Queens, involving names and characteristics based on her relatives and friends. The show earned a Rose d'Or and one Emmy Award, out of a total of thirteen nominations, and Drescher was twice nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy. The sitcom has also spawned several foreign adaptations, loosely inspired by the original scripts.
Jewish-American Fran Fine, fresh out of her job as a bridal consultant in her fiance's shop, first appears on the door step of Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield (Charles Shaughnessy) peddling cosmetics, and quickly stumbles upon the opportunity to become the nanny for his three children. Soon Fran, with her off-beat nurturing and no-nonsense honesty, touches the whole family as she gives the prim-and-proper Maxwell and his children a dose of 'Queens logic,' helping them to become a healthy, happy family; a family that she later fully joins when she becomes engaged and then married to Maxwell. She then adds to this family of five when she and Maxwell have fraternal twins.
When she opened up her eyes
She was blinded by the light
Everything was flashing red and blue
She heard do you know where you are
As they pulled her from her car
She saw the helicopter and she knew
It must be really bad
And as they lifted off the ground
The only thing that she could think about
Was the last thing she said
To her husband that morning
And the look on his face
When she slammed the door
And the way she drove off
Without one ounce of regret
And knowing, "I love you"
Was not the last thing she said
She tried to stay awake
Long enough to see his face
Wishing she could take the whole day back
She kept asking where he is
And, "Am I gonna live?"
While the voices in the room faded fast
Before she drifted off
They tried to calm her down
But on and on all she talked about
Was the last thing she said
To her husband that morning
And the look on his face
When she slammed the door
And the way she drove off
Without one ounce of regret
And knowing, "I love you", was not
The last thing she said
He was waiting in the hall, staring at the wall
When he finally saw the doctor walk his way
Oh, he was scared to death, just holding his breath
Up until he heard the doctor say, "She'll be okay"
And right now she needs her rest
But she wanted me to tell you, she's sorry
And, "I love you"
When she opened up her eyes
She was blinded by the light
Everything was flashing red and blue
She heard do you know where you are
As they pulled her from her car
She saw the helicopter and she knew
