Inverness (from the Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Nis pronounced [iɲɪɾʲˈniʃ], meaning "Mouth of the River Ness" listen (help·info)) is a city in the Scottish Highlands. It is the administrative centre for the Highland council area, and is regarded as the capital of the Highlands of Scotland. Inverness lies near two important battle sites: the 11th century battle of Blàr nam Fèinne against Norway which took place on The Aird and the 18th century Battle of Culloden which took place on Culloden Moor. It is the northernmost city in the United Kingdom and lies within the Great Glen (Gleann Mòr) at its north-eastern extremity where the River Ness enters the Moray Firth. At the latest, a settlement was established by the 6th century with the first royal charter being granted by Dabíd mac Maíl Choluim (King David I) in the 12th century. The Gaelic king, Mac Bethad mac Findláich (MacBeth) nicknamed An Rígh Dearg (The Red King) held a castle within the city where he ruled as Mormaer of Moray and Ross.
David Robert Joseph Beckham, OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English association footballer who plays for Los Angeles Galaxy. He has played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, and the England national team for which he holds the appearance record for an outfield player.
Beckham's career began when he signed a professional contract with Manchester United, making his first-team debut in 1992 aged 17. During his time there, United won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice, and the UEFA Champions League in 1999. He left Manchester United to sign for Real Madrid in 2003, where he remained for four seasons, clinching the La Liga championship in his final season with the club. In January 2007, it was announced that Beckham would leave Real Madrid for the Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy, signing a five-year contract with them on 1 July 2007. While a Galaxy player, he spent two loan spells in Italy with Milan in 2009 and 2010. On 20 November 2011, he joined an elite group of players to have won three league titles in three different countries, when Los Angeles won their third MLS Cup.
Gary Teale (born 21 July 1978) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays for Scottish Premier League club St. Mirren as a winger.
Teale started his career in Scotland in 1995 with Clydebank before spending three years with Ayr United. He moved to England in 2001 when he signed for Wigan Athletic and played an important part in the Wigan side that rose from the third tier (Division Two) to second (Division One) for the first time in the club's history and then went one step further to reach the top flight. Whilst at Wigan he started in the 2006 Football League Cup Final. He then left for Championship side Derby County where he achieved promotion to the Premier League for the second time, although Teale was not a member of the matchday 16 for the 2007 Football League Championship play-off Final. During his time at Derby, he spent time on loan with Plymouth Argyle and Barnsley.
After three years and over 100 appearances for the club, Teale left Derby in June 2010, signing for Sheffield Wednesday on a two-year deal. Teale has also represented Scotland at international level, winning 13 caps for his country between 2006 and 2009.
At night I know
That there's someplace I can go
When there's no placing waking light
And I'll dream clichés
That I've dreamed a thousand ways
I'm not above clichés tonight
The playground viewed from blessed height
Ohh, Inverness
I bet you've never actually seen a person die of loneliness
Ohh, Inverness
All in good time
Trusting smile
That I'd die for all that while
Who stayed the night and made you frown?
Oh, poor dear
Did you let him much too near?
Let's get a pen and write this down
While there's still time to warn the town
Ohh, Inverness
I bet you've never actually seen a person die of loneliness
Ohh, Inverness
All in good time
I used all I had
I wasted my best
Ohh, Inverness
I bet you've never actually seen a person die of loneliness
Ohh, Inverness
All in good time
