Travel is the movement of people or objects (such as airplanes, boats, trains and other conveyances) between relatively distant geographical locations.
The term "travel" originates from the Old French word travail. The term also covers all the activities performed during a travel (movement). A person who travels is spelled "traveler" in the United States, and "traveller" in the United Kingdom.[citation needed]
"The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page."
Reasons for traveling include recreation, tourism or vacationing, research travel for the gathering of information, for holiday to visit people, volunteer travel for charity, migration to begin life somewhere else, religious pilgrimages and mission trips, business travel, trade, commuting, and other reasons, such as to obtain health care or fleeing war or for the enjoyment of traveling. Travel may occur by human-powered transport such as walking or bicycling, or with vehicles, such as public transport, automobiles, trains and airplanes.

Graham David Hughes (born 1979) is an adventurer, filmmaker, television presenter and Guinness World Records holder. He is currently presenting the television program “Graham’s World” on the National Geographic Adventure channel, a weekly look into his ongoing quest to break multiple world records by visiting every country on earth without flying.
The Odyssey Expedition is a quest to drop in on every one of the 192 UN member states (plus eight assorted others, in the interest of a round number) without flying. The rules of his trip are: no flying, no private transport (a rule enforced by the Guinness World Records race regulations, which cannot condone a public race in private vehicles) and no travelling to far flung territories and counting them as visiting the motherland.
While on The Odyssey Expedition, Hughes is helping raise funds and awareness for the charity WaterAid.
He has set a new Guinness World Record by visiting "133 countries in one year by scheduled ground transport."
He is set to hold the world record for visiting every UN member state and eight other countries to bring his total count to 200 visited states.Graham Hughes will be the first person to visit every country in one unbroken solo journey and he is still on course for the record for visiting every country in the world in the shortest amount of time, flying or single surface journey.
Richard "Rick" Steves (born May 10, 1955, Edmonds, Washington) is an American author and television personality focusing on European travel. He is the host of the American Public Television series Rick Steves' Europe, has a public radio travel show, Travel with Rick Steves, and has authored various location-specific travel guides.
Steves started his career by teaching travel classes at his alma mater, University of Washington, and working as a tour guide in the summer. At the time, he also worked as a piano teacher (his father had owned a piano store). In 1979, based on his travel classes, he wrote the first edition of Europe Through the Back Door (ETBD), a general guide on how to travel in Europe. Steves self-published the first edition of his travel skills book ETBD in 1980. Unlike most guidebook entrepreneurs, he opened a storefront business, which at first was both travel center and piano teaching studio. He held travel classes and slide shows, did travel consulting, organized a few group tours per year, and updated his books. He did not provide ticket booking or other standard travel agency services. He incorporated his business as "Rick Steves' Europe Through the Back Door." The store was in Steves' hometown of Edmonds, Washington (a city north of Seattle). The company's headquarters are still in Edmonds.

pine away in this cold box penumbra passing by
this rookery of undead souls romanticize the truth
save me from what is left to be the tartness of my death
save me from what is left behind the underground excess
select more bodies for this game
unconscious they will be
dedication of this life
the tourist will be in your mind
minds are lost in counterclaims of insanity
death unfolds his wings
despicable agony
your first self forever gone
now respect the last words you said
frozen into this adorable block structure of mind decays
still waiting for a new life to use more morbid ways
twisted, that limbs of this passed life away
cut the strings of death to stridency
born into a new world filled with death
Melodic stanzas
are symphonizing their way
through your weary head
To feed your distrust
And fill it's mouth with the desire
to soulfully be one with your creation
Not a subject to control
you call upon a higer power
for help and inspiration
The crowd waits
and turns their faces
towards you expectantly
you give them what they need
But their useless criticism
makes you die
a bit more inside
Not a subject to control
you call upon a higer power
for help and inspiration
Oh, I swoon
while loudspeakers play soft music
Leaning
over your fourtieth masterpiece
You must have loved
the colour of these violins
I wish I knew you
Your fit of insanity makes me sad
I wish you knew
your music was to stay forever
And I hope....
I have no clue
if you know how much it matters
And i hope....
imagine you're in a boat just drifting by
and the moon is hanging low on a cloud
and you look up and start to sail away
where there's nothing left but sky
just hear the silence calling
while the rain is falling
down upon our naked hearts
where love is never ever far
what do you think about lost in your thoughts
when a splash of water lands there on your skin
now you don't care cause you want to stay right here
where there's nothing left but sky
just hear the silence calling
while the rain is falling
down upon our naked hearts
where love is never very far
Melodic stanzas
are symphonizing their way
through your weary head
To feed your distrust
And fill it's mouth with the desire
to soulfully be one with your creation
Not a subject to control
you call upon a higer power
for help and inspiration

I met a man
At the age of eighteen I was
We went to Detroit
He played the guitar
I played the harmonica
Travelling free
Working for the music
Life's a gamble when you're
Working for the music
Hey hey
Say hey hi
I went to New York
At the age of twenty-two I was
I met a man
He gave me a job construction
I worked hard in the daytime
And partied all night
I moved to California
At the age of twenty-five I was
Oh yeah
I met a woman
Nina Simone
She taught me how to write
I played the guitar in a local bar
Hey hey hey hey hey hey
Next time we walk down to the docks
While welcoming the morning sun
We'll share rations of bread with
Drifters and deceivers
Know I only see this hour after
Evenings of infamy
There are thousands of you like me
And you'll be so so sorry
When you start to hate the sound of laughter
Grinding your teeth down to powder
How rewarding is it
Just to be alive we could have residence
In the worst prison
That happens when you die and have
No friends to carry caskets in the saddest procession
Those people often say they're sorry
When your soul departs
But they recover oh so quick
There are thousands of you like me
And you'll be so so sorry
When you start to hate the sound of laughter
Grinding your teeth down to powder
There are thousands of you like me
And you'll be so so sorry
when you start to hate the sound of laughter
