A farm is an area of land, or, for aquaculture, lake, river or sea, including various structures, devoted primarily to the practice of producing and managing food (produce, grains, or livestock), fibres and, increasingly, fuel. It is the basic production facility in food production. Farms may be owned and operated by a single individual, family, community, corporation or a company. A farm can be a holding of any size from a hectare to several thousand hectares.
The word in the sense of an agricultural land-holding derives from the verb "to farm" a revenue source, whether taxes, customs, rents of a group of manors or simply to hold an individual manor by the feudal land tenure of "fee farm". The word is from the medieval Latin noun firma, also the source of the French word ferme, meaning a fixed agreement, contract, from the classical Latin adjective firmus-a-um meaning strong, stout, firm. As in the medieval age virtually all manors were engaged in the business of agriculture, which was their principal revenue source, so to hold a manor by the tenure of "fee farm" became synonymous with the practice of agriculture itself.
Mansoor Khan, son of film maker Nasir Hussain, made his directorial debut with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) which launched the career of his cousin Aamir Khan. The film, a soft Romeo-Juliet inspired romantic drama, was a huge success. Coming towards the end of a decade dominated by action-oriented films, Mansoor Khan's directorial debut paved the way back for the musical romantic genre in Bollywood. The film made many careers: Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Anand-Milind.
He followed this success four years later with Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992). Mansoor Khan's last two films, Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995) and Josh (2000), were moderately successful. Both movies, the first an almost identical screenplay to Kramer vs. Kramer and the other an adaptation of West Side Story were outside productions with Mansoor just being a director. Josh was the only film out of all the films he directed that did not star Aamir Khan but instead had Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
Mansoor Khan attended several engineering colleges only to drop out and later pursued his career in Bollywood. He attended some of the very well known colleges like IIT Bombay, Cornell, M.I.T. [1] [2]. Mansoor Khan's films have a soft human touch to them. A common thread running through all his films, apart from the long titles that is, is the theme of father-son relationship. Mansoor also has a good ear for music, and in the tradition of his father, the music in his films has always been highly appreciated.
start extremes
so extreme
left it clean
found a place to hide
I love the place
I took your face
forgot to face it
by myself I cried
I want you to know
I left you there
I hid upstairs
I had to kid
because you're the one I see
I looked around
I felt the ground
its soul not found
it's hard enough for me
I want you to know
hey
did I let it go?
stay with me
tell me if it shows
I want you to know
I brought you there
I thought you cared
not to step
but you just couldn't see
it's always you
it's always me
it's always talking
you can set it free
I want you to know
hey
you're the one who knows
stay with me
I can't let it go
hey
you put it in my head
stay asleep
think on what you said
I want you to know
Remember boy that your forefathers died
Lost in millions for a country's pride
But they never mention the trenches of Belgium
When they stopped fighting and they were one
A spirit stronger than war was at work that night
December 1914 cold, clear and bright
Countries' borders were right out of sight
When they joined together and decided not to fight
All together now
All together now
All together now
In no man's land, together
All together now
All together now
All together now
In no man's land, together
The same old story again
All those tears shed in vain
Nothing learnt and nothing gained
Only hope remains
All together now
All together now
All together now
In no man's land, together
All together now
All together now
All together now
In no man's land, together
All together now
All together now
All together now
In no man's land, together
All together now
All together now
The boys had their say, they said no
Stop the slaughter and let's go home
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go
The boys had their say, they said no
Stop the slaughter and let's go home
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go home
All together now
All together now
All together now
In no man's land, together
All together now
All together now
All together now
In no man's land, together
The boys had their say they said no
Stop the slaughter and let's go home
Let's go, let's go, let's go home
The boys had their say they said no
Stop the slaughter and let's go home

My world's a roller-coaster and my life's a traffic jam
All this mess ain't even close to bein' who I am
I've been dreamin' Carolina, catchin' craw-dads by the creek
But I'm stuck here in this prison cell full of city streets
I need a little time, I need a little space
I need a little gone, a little out of this place
I wanna get back where I can breathe
Where I feel free, yeah
Take me back, I've been away too long
Take me back to my home sweet home
I can smell my mama's cookin'
And the sweet magnolia trees
Nothing like suppertime on a summer night
I can hear those crickets callin' me
I need a little time, I need a little space
I need a little gone, a little out of this place
I wanna get back where I can breathe
Where I feel free, yeah
Take me back, I've been away too long
Take me back to my home sweet home
I need a little time, I need a little space
I need a little gone, a little out of this place
I wanna get back where I can breathe
Where I feel free, yeah
Take me back, I've been away too long
Take me back, I've been away too long
Take me back, I've been away too long
Take me back to my home sweet home
Kissin' Jenny Lynn on a front porch swing
Catchin' fireflies on the first day of spring
Swingin' along while the church choir sings
Sneakin' around on a full moon night
Makin' out for the very first time

What they promised
Will now comes true
Don't tell me girl
You should've knew
Plastic gangsters and two bit hoods
Heading for the ninties in their kid gloves
Rolly, rolly
Heading for the prize of the king clown
They say that money's
The root of all crime
But I know people
Who just love the big time
Hearts & Minds
Hearts & Minds
Hearts & Minds
You can't have our Hearts & Minds
Tomorrow is girl
Another day
Come with me and
Forget today
Hearts & Minds
Hearts & Minds
Hearts & Minds
You can't have our Hearts & Minds
Little by little, little by little
Little by little, little by little
Hearts & Minds
Hearts & Minds
Hearts & Minds

Hey you don't wanna know
Hey you made me feel low
Today
You said I had to go away
I had to go go go go go
I didn't know what went wrong
I didn't wanna sing you a song
I didn't wanna sing you a song
I didn't wanna sing you a love song
'Cause you take, you take me higher
Oh, oh, higher and higher
'Cause you take, you take me higher
Oh, oh, higher and higher
Hey you didn't wanna know
Hey you made me feel low
Today
You said I had to go away
I had to go go go go go
'Cause you take, you take me higher
Oh, oh, higher and higher
'Cause you take, you take me higher
Oh, oh, higher and higher
'Cause you take, you take me higher
Oh, oh, higher and higher
'Cause you take, you take me higher
Oh, oh, higher and higher
"Oh, how delicious!" The pig boy squealed
As another rush of pure pain came over him
Then Pig Boy declared
"This is what Pig Boy truly lives for
Pig Boy shall wallow
And sing in the mud and the blood
If only Pig Boy's eyes could be eaten by ants
If only Pig Boy could postpone joy forever
If only Pig Boy could become bacon boy
Pig Boy is tired of the struggle."
Just then Farm Boy came
And chopped off Pig Boy's head
As Farm Boy ate the bacon,
He began to feel queasy
"Say, Ma," said Farm Boy
"Are you sure this pork was prepared properly?"
"Why, of course I'm sure, Junior," Ma quickly replied
"Why would I want to poison my only child?"
Just then Farm Man burst through the door
Followed by the baby Jesus
"I think you're evading the issue again, Martha"
The big burly man shouted accusingly
"And I think it's about time someone taught you a lesson or two"
"You tell 'em, Dad," said Farm Boy
Who by this time was rolling on the floor in agony
Farm Man stomped the boy into the ground
Walked over to the stove and turned on the gas
He would have lit a cigarette
But he didn't have any
He had never smoked in his life
And this was no time to start
He stared coldly into Martha's understanding eyes
Farm Man began to weep
And he asked Martha if she wanted to go to a movie
They went to see Sallow
They loved it so much
That they sat through it twice
Completely forgetting the baby Jesus
Who was accidentally locked in the broom closet
This looks like my day
To myself I'd often say
The winds of change are here
Don't give up don't have any fear
'Cause you know you've got it
Don't ever let them get you down
Don't ever let them push you around
(You've got to)
Stand up and fight and be counted
(You've got to)
Stand up and fight and be counted
This looks like my day
To myself I'd often say
The winds of change are here
Don't give up don't have any fear
'Cause you know you've got it
Don't ever let them get you down
Don't ever let them push you around
Don't ever let them get you down
Don't ever let them push you around
(You've got to)
Stand up and fight and be counted
(You've got to)
Stand up and fight and be counted
(You've got to)
Stand up and fight and be counted
(You've got to)
I saw you walking down our street
Well you looked quite neat
Baggy jeans and long blond hair
Without a care in the world
What happened to the attitude you used to have at school
What happened to the attitude when you broke all the rules
I saw you just the other week
But we did not speak
You turned your back and flicked your hair
As if you did not care
Well I don't care where you come from
I don't give a damn
Well I don't care where you come from
It's all a sham
You're so special
You're so special
She sings
Get on, get on, get on, get on 'the groovy train'
Get on, get on, get on, get on 'the groovy train'
You been playing with my love baby
And messing with my mind
Trying to make me run to you
All the time
Giving me your love and then
Taking it to him
Well will you ever stop
And mend your evil whims
How long will this keep going on
I want to know
How long must this keep going on
I've got to know how long
In the middle of the night baby
You're calling out his name
You tell me it's alright to love us
Both the same
You'd better think twice baby
And change your plan
Cause I will never share you with
Another man
How long will this keep going on
I want to know
How long must this keep going on
I've got to know
Baby, well maybe you don't realize
Baby, you make me want to close my eyes
And shut you from my heart
Baby, well maybe you don't realize
Baby, you make me want to close my eyes
Well tell me please
How long will this keep going on
I want to know
How long must this keep going on

Sweet Inspiration
For the whole of my nation
Every day you spend in captivity
Every day you're denied your liberty
You were always searching for a better way
Always searching for a brighter day
Looking for a way
Searching for...
You give me
Sweet, sweet inspiration
You give me
Sweet inspiration
You give me
Sweet, sweet inspiration
You give me
Sweet inspiration
Every time I look into your eyes
You always take me, take me by suprise
You're always looking for a better way
Always searching for a brighter day
Looking for a way
Searching for...
You give me
Sweet, sweet inspiration
You give me
Sweet inspiration
You give me
Sweet, sweet inspiration
You give me
All the disused derelict buildings
They tell of stories of time's gone by
They tell of broken dreams and promises
Of all those forgotten lies
And the waste grounds of a city proud
Tell the story you know too well
Just sit back for a while
And listen to the story I tell
Oh, you tell the story
Oh, you tell the story
You tell the story
(You heard ten times before)
You wait for the day, it must come soon
To get you away from your feelings of gloom
There's no real hope and there's none on it's way
You only survive from day to day
Oh, you tell the story
Oh, you tell the story
You tell the story
(You heard ten times before)
Oh, you tell the story
Oh, you tell the story
You tell the story
Oh, you tell the story
Oh, you tell the story
You tell the story
(You heard ten times before)
You tell a story of a city proud
You tell the story, you shout it out loud
The same old story, you wanna hear no more
The same old story, you've heard ten times before
You tell a story of a city proud
You tell the story, you shout it out loud
The same old story, you wanna hear no more
The same old story, you've heard ten times before
You tell a story of a city proud
You tell the story, you shout it out loud
The same old story, you wanna hear no more
The same old story, you've heard ten times before

I open my eyes and what do I see
Four walls staring at me
Will you ever remember
Will you ever remember
I'm thinking of you all the while
To see your face and see your smile
Stand by me while I'm away
Stand by me for another day
Very, very, very emotional
(Don't you ever go away)
Stay free, stay free, stay free
all of your days
You make me happy you make me smile
I wanna be with you all the while
Will you ever remember
Will you ever remember
Very, very, very emotional
(Don't you ever go away)
Stay free, stay free, stay free
all of your days
Very, very, very emotional
(Don't you ever go away)
Stay free, stay free, stay free

Repeat
(Verse)
You and me were never meant to be
Two hearts carved on two different trees
Two paths crossing on a midnight moon
A little too fast, or a little too soon
(Verse)
I was lost to God up in
Bragging on to all my friends
I never thought that the last weekend
Is our last weekend
(Pre-Chorus)
And the road goes on and on and on
And time goes on and on and on
And life goes on and on and on
And you're still gone
(Chorus)
But every once in a while
I think about that 100 miles
Hey baby we were riding in style
I go back every now and then
I get caught in the could've been, what should've been
And I start the car, and I start to cry
And then I drive
That 100 miles
(Verse)
A little dunner in that little town
A cup of coffee that you couldn't pour down
Lipstick lips on my face
Still feel the way they tasting
Yiddle days in motel room
Second floor room 232
That's where you made love to me
Still got the keys and the memories
(Pre-Chorus)
And the road goes on and on and on
And time goes on and on and on
And life goes on and on and on
And you're still gone
(Chorus)
But every once in a while
I think about that 100 miles
Hey baby we were riding in style
I go back every now and then
I get caught in the could've been, what should've been
And I start the car, and I start to cry
And then I drive
That 100 miles
(Bridge)
I never thought that stretch is straight black top
Put on a stop
You and me were never meant to be
Two hearts carved on two different trees
Two paths crossing on a midnight moon
A little too fast, or a little too soon
(Chorus)
But every once in a while
I think about that 100 miles
