Newly formed City of Whitehorse Pipe Band from Melbourne Australia at the Victorian Championships in March 2015. The band was formed only 7 months prior to this video, so they are extremely proud of their achievements to date. Pipe Major George Shepherd, Drum Sergeant Olav Goud, Pipe Sergeant RJ Houston and Bass section lead Kirsty McLellan have done an amazing job leading and inspiring this group of people. If you are in Melbourne and fancy a tune at this level with an inspired and motivated band, come on down!

Belfast Telegraph 2015-03-21A pipe band is a musical ensemble consisting of pipers and drummers. The term used by military pipe bands, pipes and drums, is also common.
The most common form of pipe band, the Scottish pipe band, consists of a section of pipers (playing the Great Highland Bagpipe), a section of snare drummers (often referred to as 'side drummers'), several tenor drummers and usually one, though occasionally two, bass drummers. The entire drum section is known collectively as the drum corps. The tenor drummers and bass drummer are referred to collectively as the 'bass section' (or in North America as the 'midsection'). The band follows the direction of the pipe major; when on parade the band may be led by a drum major, who directs the band with a mace. Standard instrumentation for a pipe band involves 6 to 25 pipers, 3 to 10 side drummers, 1 to 6 tenor drummers and 1 bass drummer. Occasionally this instrumentation is augmented to include additional instruments (such as additional percussion instruments or keyboard instruments), but this is typically done only in concert settings.

Sha la, sha la, sha la, sha la, oh yeah
I was drawn into myself Observing all this time From every angle I could see My people, you're meeting hell Brothers have turned to crime So they die from time to time We'd like to ask you leaders What have you got in mind
I see the fire spreading It's getting hotter and hot The haves will want to be In the shoes of the have-nots If the sign is on your door Then you will be saved for sure But if you are in pretence You're on the wrong side of the fence Oh yeah - you better believe me People - Believe, believe, believe me when I tell you
Another thing I saw in visions Right in front my eyes Sisters prostituting, selling away their lives They get but very little pay The ones who clean the mess Minority who sits on top Just rate themselves the best
The sun, the moon, the stars, the skies Were made for mankind The animals and all The cows, the horse, the dogs, the swine Live good and give thanks What about you, man?
(Don't you believe) Life could be a symphony If we live in harmony We'll find true love Blessings from above
The time is now to know yourself It's been a long time You're living in the dark You're living like you used to live In days gone by While Noah made the ark
(Watch yourself, for) Life could be a symphony If we live in harmony Finding true love Blessings from above
As for me the only thing I need Is health and true love In my heart each day To give a helping hand to Whether a brother or a sister As I go my way
How do you feel when you're baby's gone How can you sleep With no one to keep you warm You toss and turn, you cry all night It's such a feeling, it gives an awful fright
She doesn't want me around She's got something to hide I think she wants a clown Someone to take for a ride
I'm telling her that I'm Too experienced to be taken for a stroll Too experienced for someone to rock and roll Too experienced to be taken for a ride I know it's not my foolish pride
She hates the sight of me Because I turned her offer down She's always saying we were meant to be Somehow she thought I'd be her clown
My resistance is getting weaker I just can't stand the pressure I can't be any meeker I've got to find me some of the treasure
I need nothing to be a man Because I was born a man And I deserve the right to live Like any other man
My mind's in such a state Sometimes it makes me sick At times I've tried to hate But I just don't know the trick
I need nothing to be a man Because I was born a man And I deserve the right to live Like any other man
Experience has taught me wisdom Thank God I've got some life left I'm getting out of serfdom My soul has stood the test
Just take these chains away And set me free Remove me out of bondage And we'll agree Too long I've been a slave I don't want to be no more I'd rather dig my grave Than be locked behind a door
I want to help myself Be an independent man I don't want no one to give Me a helping hand Whether you are black Whether you are white I don't give a damn I just want to be alright
You are still my honey You are still my honey
Each time we kiss it's sweeter than the times before I do insist we make the time and do some more When we talk there's understanding Honey, you and me - we're not too demanding That's why I'm happy that
You are still my honey You are still my honey
When we make love it's nothing short of heaven's bliss Thank God above for sending us a love like this Between us there's endless affection And it means our love has got that sensation That's why I'm happy that
You are still my honey You are still my honey
Repeat first verse and chorus
To be true to one another To be kind and gentle to each other To give your best when it's asked of you To do what you have to do when you're supposed to
You've got to feel it You've got to feel the soul down inside of you You've got to feel it
If you're to feel it, you've got to be clean You've got to make it straight, you can't be lean To share the joys togetherness can bring To the true soul you just have to cling
Then you will feel it Feel the soul inside of you You've got to feel it
If you're to feel it, you've got to be clean You've got to make it straight, you can't be lean To share the joys togetherness can bring To the true soul you just have to cling

I've got to go back home If I've got to walk I've got to go back home If I've got to swim I've got to go back home
There is no gladness Nothing but sadness Nothing like a future here I've got to - I've got to leave this land I've got to find myself on some other sand I just can't stand this life I'm living
I can't get no clothes to wear Can't get no food to eat I can't get a job to get bread That's why I've got to...
You don't know how You make your family feel To do the things you know are real Say the things you please They say you're in cocaine You should change your name They even say you're insane
You don't know how You make your teachers feel When you write the things you know Discuss the things you've learned They say you're dropping out You'll be a thief without a doubt For a youth your heart's too stout
You should know how You make your rich friends dumb To hear you're in the slums Existing just on crumbs They don't know the peace within That you share with your ghetto's kin You're tired of rich happenings
You don't know how You make the society frown When you walk the streets in town They laugh: "There goes a clown" They say you need a trim Oh, you're looking slim You should be sweating out in a gym
I'm going home, first thing tomorrow I'm going home, first thing tomorrow No matter what it costs, no matter what it costs I say I'm going home, home On the first morning train
I'm going home, I'm going home
Games People Play Bob Andy [Joe South] chorus: (twice) Na na na na na na na na Na na na na na na na na I'm talking about you and me yeah and the games people play
All the games people play now Every night and every day now Never meaning what they say Never saying what they mean First you wind away your hours In your concrete towers Soon you'll be covered up in flowers in the back of a black limousine
People walking up to you Singing glory hallelujah Then they try to sock it to you yo, in the name of the lord
CHORUS
Then they teach you how to recitate Read your horoscope and change your fate And further more to hell with hate come on gimme some more more and more
CHORUS
Turn around and look at what you see What is happening to you and me God grant me the serenity yeah to remember who I am First you given up your sanity For your pride and your vanity Turn your back on humanity yeah and you dont give a damn damn damn
Find my way, in the five o'clock rush hour, As daylight, slowly leaves the sky. I open the door, to that little room, That we call home.
Loving arms, are there, to greet me, Tender lips are there, to meet me. At the end of the day, You know it's, always been that way.
Then I find my way, through the early morning traffic, But someone else, is heavy, heavy, on my mind. Open the door to our favorite little coffee shop, (Ohh, ya'll) the girl is right on time. (Now, come one.)
Loving arms, are there, to greet me, Tender lips are there, always there to meet me. And that's how I start my day, It's just too bad it doesn't end that way.
(One woman's making my home) One women's making my home, (But the other woman's making me wrong) The other girl, is making me do wrong. I didn't mean, let it get that strong, no baby. I got to decide, where I belong.
If everything in life was right Then we would never have to fight So if we never used the brain Then only carcass would remain If man had never used his hands Then he could never understand The joys of making this and that Like winning money from the slot
Forget about stupidity Discover your ability Develop your creativity Cultivate humility To brave the stormy weather Oh my brothers And heed my foolish words
You see the more you give to life Is the more you're gonna get from life So go on and give Don't count the cost And the less you give to life Is the less you're gonna get from life So save your dough And your soul might be lost
If every man should be the boss There'd be no one to groom the horse Mechanics none to fix the car No humble man to spread the tar If every man should be on top Now tell me what the hell could stop Top heavy from a fatal drop Extinct would be the mortal crop
It's time we learned to be satisfied Curtail resources running wild Too much have you, get rid of some There are too many who have none Oh my brother, help them to face the stormy weather And heed these foolish words I tell you
Chorus
