Davies is a spelling variation of the patronymic English surname Davis, that means David, a Hebrew name meaning "beloved". Davies is much associated with Wales, owing to the name of its patron saint, David. Davies is also fairly widespread in the south-west of England, especially Cornwall. Davies is the 6th-most common surname in the United Kingdom.
It may refer to many people: here are some of them.
Professor Ivor Norman Richard DaviesFBA, FRHistS (born 8 June 1939) is a leading English historian of Welsh descent, noted for his publications on the history of Europe, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
Davies was born to Richard and Elizabeth Davies in Bolton, Lancashire. He studied in Grenoble, France from 1957 to 1958 and then under A. J. P. Taylor at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he earned a B.A. in History in 1962. He was awarded an M.A. at the University of Sussex in 1966 and also studied in Perugia, Italy. He intended to study for a Ph.D. in the Soviet Union but was denied an entry visa, so instead he went to Kraków, Poland, to study at the Jagiellonian University and do research on the Polish–Soviet War. As this war was denied in the official communist Polish historiography of that time, he was obliged to change the title of his dissertation to The British Foreign Policy towards Poland, 1919–20. After he obtained his Ph.D. in Kraków in 1968, the English text appeared under the title White Eagle, Red Star. The Polish-Soviet War 1919–20 in 1972.
David Russell Gordon "Dave" Davies (born 3 February 1947, Fortis Green, London) is an English rock musician best known for his role as lead guitarist and vocalist for the English rock band The Kinks.
In 2003, Davies was ranked 88th in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time"
Davies was born at 6 Denmark Terrace, Fortis Green, London. He was born the last of eight children, including six older sisters and an older brother, later bandmate Ray. As children, the Davies brothers were immersed in a world of different musical styles, from the music hall of their parents' generation, to the jazz and early rock n' roll that their older sisters listened to. The siblings developed a rivalry early on, with both brothers competing for their parents' and sisters' attention.
Davies grew up playing skiffle, but soon bought an electric guitar and started experimenting with rock. The Davies brothers and friend Pete Quaife jammed together in the front room of their house. Activities in the Davies household centred around this front room, culminating in large parties, where Davies' parents would sing and play piano together. The front room and these parties were musically nurturing to the Davies brothers, later influencing The Kinks' interpretations of the traditional British music hall style. Dave and his brother worked out the famous two-chord riff of their 1964 hit, "You Really Got Me", on the piano in the front room.

Prior to embarking on a career in comedy, he had taught secondary school drama and English for 13 years.
Davies has performed on the BBC's Live at the Apollo, and has regularly appeared on the guest panel for Channel 4's 8 out of 10 Cats and the BBC's Mock the Week. Since the dissolution of the Kinks in 1996, Ray Davies has embarked on a solo career as a singer-songwriter.
Davies was born at 6 Denmark Terrace, Fortis Green in Muswell Hill, North London, England. He is the seventh of eight children born to Fred and Annie Davies, including six older sisters and younger brother Dave Davies. He went to William Grimshaw Secondary Modern School (now called Fortismere School).
Davies was an art student at Hornsey College of Art in London in 1962–1963, when the Kinks developed into a professional performing band. After the Kinks obtained a recording contract in early 1964, Davies emerged as the chief songwriter and de facto leader of the band, especially after the band's breakthrough success with his early composition "You Really Got Me", which was released as the band's third single in August of that year.

On June 14th, danger is Bourne.
Danger is Bourne.
Who Am I?
Wer ist Jason Bourne? (Who is Jason Bourne?)
Jason Bourne: Everything I found out, I want to forget.
Marie: I guess you're not home.
Conklin: What is the French word for "stakeout," huh?
Marie: Nobody does the right thing.
Jason Bourne: How could I forget about you? You're the only person I know.
Jason Bourne: [during a car chase] So...::Marie: What?::Jason Bourne: ...we got a bump coming up. [drives the car down a flight of stairs]
[last lines]::Marie: Do you have ID?::Jason Bourne: Not really.
Conklin: Where's your field box?::Nicolette: That's this window right here...::Conklin: Where's your field box?::Nicolette: It's right there. The system's gone haywire... Dining room window? [the power shuts down, the lights go off] It's Bourne, isn't it?
Jason Bourne: Who has a safety deposit box full of... money and six passports and a gun? Who has a bank account number in their hip? I come in here, and the first thing I'm doing is I'm catching the sightlines and looking for an exit.::Marie: I see the exit sign, too, I'm not worried. I mean, you were shot. People do all kinds of weird and amazing stuff when they are scared.::Jason Bourne: I can tell you the license plate numbers of all six cars outside. I can tell you that our waitress is left-handed and the guy sitting up at the counter weighs two hundred fifteen pounds and knows how to handle himself. I know the best place to look for a gun is the cab or the gray truck outside, and at this altitude, I can run flat out for a half mile before my hands start shaking. Now why would I know that? How can I know that and not know who I am?
Marie: ...it was amazing. It was just amazing for about three months, until it turned out that this uh, jerk, who had fronted us the lease was actually shining everyone on and... [Stops. Pause]::Jason Bourne: And what?::Marie: What do you mean, what. Listen to me; I, I've been speed talking for about sixty kilometers now. I, I talk when I'm nervous, I mean, I, I talk like this when I'm nervous. I'm gonna shut up now.

Miss Mary Raines: You heard what the Father said. There's no future for what you joined except hell.::Detective James McParlan: Well I'm a miner now. I'll be traveling in that direction anyway, just out of habit.
Davies: Don't get confused about which side you're on.::Detective James McParlan: I could always tell the buttered side from the dry.
Jack Kehoe: I'm thinking... you'd better be what we think you are.::Detective James McParlan: I'm what you think!::Jack Kehoe: 'Cause if you're not... there's no hole deep enough to hide this time.
Davies: Yes, I need them caught in the act... no chance of an alibi. And not just two of them. I want the organisation. I want it smashed. Any bastard who even dreams of making trouble, I want him to wake up sweating blood at what happened to the Molly Maguires. [McParlan starts to leave] Not yet! I can't send you away unmarked. [he floors McParlan with his truncheon]::Detective James McParlan: [bleeding] Well... it's a pleasure working with a man who likes his job.
Detective James McParlan: Dougherty, then? You've time enough for that. He's not hanged yet.::Jack Kehoe: You're a cool one.::Detective James McParlan: That's the difference between us, Jack.::Jack Kehoe: I have no coolness in me at all.
[Davies has given McParlan a beating, as part of his cover]::Davies: They'll respect you now. It's about the only thing they do respect round here, a blow and a hard head.
