Wyoming (i/waɪˈoʊmɪŋ/) is a state in the mountain region of the Western United States. Wyoming is the 10th most extensive, but the least populous and the 2nd least densely populated of the 50 States. The western two thirds of the state is covered mostly with the mountain ranges and rangelands in the foothills of the Eastern Rocky Mountains, while the eastern third of the state is high elevation prairie known as the High Plains. Cheyenne is the capital and the most populous city of Wyoming with a population of nearly 60,000 people within its city proper.
As specified in the designating legislation for the Territory of Wyoming, Wyoming's borders are lines of latitude, 41°N and 45°N, and longitude, 104°3'W and 111°3'W (27° W and 34° W of the Washington Meridian), making the shape of the state a latitude-longitude quadrangle. Wyoming is one of only three states (along with Colorado and Utah) to have borders along only straight latitudinal and longitudinal lines, rather than being defined by natural landmarks. Due to surveying inaccuracies during the 19th century, Wyoming's legal border deviates from the true latitude and longitude lines by up to half of a mile (.8 km) in some spots, especially in the mountainous region along the 45th parallel. Wyoming is bordered on the north by Montana, on the east by South Dakota and Nebraska, on the south by Colorado, on the southwest by Utah, and on the west by Idaho. It is the ninth largest state in the United States in total area, containing 97,818 square miles (253,350 km2) and is made up of 23 counties. From the north border to the south border it is 276 miles (444 km); and from the east to the west border is 365 miles (587 km) at its south end and 342 miles (550 km) at the north end.
Used to run all night on mood swings
And spill our gasoline
And play the violin behind the scenes
Felt so right to leave you losers
Why do I miss you now?
How much we give the ghost up
When we learned how to get where we're going?
Come on home, Wyoming
I know that every night you lie
And stare at the ceiling
Till you start believing it's the sky
Never knowing why
High on any sheer will measure
We run the on-time train
But we could call just one off due to rain
Sable frenzy, drunks and addicts
Do it all the time
We could always let one fall behind what we do
And pay what we're owing
Come on home, Wyoming
I know that every night you lie
Stare at the ceiling
Till you start believing it's the sky
Never knowing why
Rewind the moons to where this all started
I knew I’d lose you to the first shot, it’s just my luck
I gave you wings so I could revise it
But you told me that a pen, has always been enough,
Honestly? I think you made it up
Cause all along, I’ve just been writing you this song
So set it off, here we go,
We’ve gotten to sleeping in our clothes, not cause were cold
Cause we don’t know who will be there in the morning
So set it off, my heart is shot, this is me giving all I’ve got
God let it be enough, cause if it’s not, this is me giving up
Writing another useless melody that goes
Late another evening she’s casually faded,
Wearing it well cause she’s a lady,
Under the sultry matte of summer
And the allusion of Great Gatsby
Saying she’s sick of me, but she’s lying on my floor,
She’s a six for me when I can’t take more than a four,
She still means so much more than
So set it off, here we go
We’ve gotten to sleeping in our clothes, not cause were cold
Cause we don’t know who will be there in the morning
So set it off, my heart is shot , this is me giving all I’ve got,
God let it be enough, cause if it’s not, this is me giving up
Writing another useless melody that goes
The way our story does:
Writing poetry in the back of my car, smoking cigarettes with the dome light on
The wind graceful on the paint-job, inside hazy like a dive bar.
When it comes to stopping my heart she catches each and every beat on time
And when it comes to picking winners? I don’t ever take the line
Cause I’m flattened by everything, she’s beautiful,
I’ve got the spins, and of all the things she ever did
This won’t fix itself without me helping it.
So this is it, just another useless melody that goes the way our story does
Say what you’d like about us
These eyes that are worn from the road
Dirt Tears run never ending
The prize that keeps me from home
It's gone but keeps pretending
A journey that i walk alone
The sky it's line and this run
Clouds of dust as i kick them bones
My Boots my pride and my gun
Its all i can do to recall
That time is still against me
The Days are as long as the road
Neck burns the night set me free
The sky it's line and this run
And i cry out Wyoming
My boots my pride and my gun
And i cry out Wyoming
Out here will i die alone
Never laid to rest
Another passing man kicks my bones
Green eyes and chromium trails
stuck down in Selma jails
I change my mantra to remote control
She's got the two-step down
in every honkey-tonk in town
He's gonna drive a big rig
to try and crush the Man
I call him cheeba because he's
alive with the power of Satan
and all the fresh girls like the way
that he staggers around
he says his fingers are made from
the flesh of his soulless invaders
and he's the coolest kid in the
We were drunk and insane standing out in the rain
Telling stories from yesterday's gig
Drew a face on my shoe and I knew it was you
Memories are my most messed up things
We were covered in water backfire and mud
Where the blood and coffee were smeared
As the rivers were rising I stood by your house
Soon discharging a gutful of beer
Wyoming's got a ghost but it doesn't have a coast
So the property's next to nothing
It would blow me away to carouse there with you
And to feel the northern lights sing
So I get on the phone with the irresistible
But I find myself kissing the pig
So antie up your bladder and pile up the boones
Ive got miles of living to do
Well I've been to the womb and Ive been to the tomb
Been all over the north county fair
Quaffing popcorn in heaven; tequila in hell
Well I know Ill see all of you there
WYOMING WYOMING but Ive never been to WYOMING
WYOMING WYOMING And Ive never felt the sun
Creep down the back of my neck
Pulling into medicine bow
Well I've been to the womb and Ive been to the tomb
Been all over the north county fair
Quaffing popcorn in heaven tequila in hell
Well I know Ill see all of you there
WYOMING WYOMING but Ive never been to WYOMING
WYOMING WYOMING but Ive never been to WYOMING
Wyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Wyoming Wyoming but Ive never been to Wyoming
Wyoming Wyoming but Ive never been to WY-O-MING
Cody, Cheyenne, Casper, Node, Chugwater, Kaycee, Lusk, Shoshone,
Lost Cabin, Lander, Ten Asleep, Red Desert, Big Piney
WYOMING WYOMING but Ive never been to WYOMING
WYOMING WYOMING but Ive never been to WYOMING
There's a bird inside my chest, he's fighting for bread
He's dying to leave
But he's got no heart, he don't want no part of your crying
Making a scene
'Cause he can only love you in songs
He'll just keep on getting it wrong
So carry on, carry on
Carry on, my bird of song
Though I would just as soon forget your tune
You carry on, my bird of song
