Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Perry grew up with gospel music, and during her first year of high school she pursued a music career as Katy Hudson, releasing her first studio album called Katy Hudson which failed to chart. She recorded a solo album later, which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry.
She first gained recognition with the release of her first mainstream album, One of the Boys in 2008, which spawned three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs—"I Kissed A Girl", "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas". Perry supported the album with her Hello Katy Tour. In 2010, her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), which topped the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned five number one singles—"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"—Teenage Dream was the only album (after Michael Jackson's Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone. She embarked on the California Dreams Tour, which grossed nearly $60 million worldwide. Perry re-released the album under the name of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 26, 2012, and the re-release has already spawned the number-one single "Part of Me".
Dr. Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones, Jr. is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Indiana Jones franchise. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg created the character in homage to the action heroes of 1930s film serials. The character first appeared in the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark, to be followed by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in 1984, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles from 1992 to 1996, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008. Alongside the more widely known films and television programs, the character is also featured in novels, comics, video games, and other media. Jones is also featured in the theme park attraction Indiana Jones Adventure, which exists in similar forms at Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
Jones is most famously played by Harrison Ford and has also been portrayed by River Phoenix (as the young Jones in The Last Crusade), and in the television series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles by Corey Carrier, Sean Patrick Flanery, and George Hall. Doug Lee has supplied Jones's voice to two LucasArts video games, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, while David Esch supplied his voice to Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb and John Armstrong in Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings.
Michael Willesee (born 29 June 1942) is an Australian television presenter.
Mike Willesee came to prominence in 1967 as a reporter for the ABC's new nightly current affairs program This Day Tonight (TDT), where his aggressive style quickly earned him a reputation as a fearless political interviewer.
Willesee figured prominently in the controversy that erupted over the decision in early 1967 by the Liberal government, led by Prime Minister Harold Holt, not to reappoint the ABC Chairman Dr James Darling. This decision was rumoured to have been the result of the government's anger over critical coverage of its policies on the ABC. Willesee's own critical comments about the decision on TDT on 2 April further angered Holt, who questioned the ABC's impartiality and implied that Willesee (whose father Don Willesee was a Labor Senator; in 1972 he would become Foreign Minister in Gough Whitlam's Labor government) was politically biased. Holt's remarks backfired, as they provoked strong protests from both Willesee and the Australian Journalist's Association.
Plot
Despite having dreams of being a world record breaststroker since he was a child, Canadian Victor Davis came out of virtual obscurity to win the silver medal in the 100 meter breaststroke and shattering the long standing world record on his way to the gold medal in the 200 meter breaststroke at the 1982 World Swimming Championships. There, Victor and his coach, Cliff Barry, predict Victor will break world records en route to gold medals in these two races at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Victor's public bravado and hot temperedness, both extensions of his hyperactivity, irk his competitors, exasperate Cliff and sometimes place him at odds with the public and the media, both Canadian and international. From 1982, Victor has some spectacular swimming heartaches, some equally as spectacular swimming moments, and some potentially career-ending moments related to medical and legal issues all leading up to and at the 1984 Olympic Games. Through it all, he is supported by Cliff, his equally as famous national swim teammate Alex Baumann, his swim club teammates, his family, and his girlfriend Donna Clavel. Then, following his retirement from competitive swimming, on the fateful evening of November 11, 1989 after leaving a Montréal nightclub with Donna,...

You Won't Believe Her Eyes.
How Can You Believe Your Eyes When They're Not Yours?
Don't Believe Your Eyes.
Sydney Wells: I'm not seeing ghost images. I see...::Dr. Paul Faulkner: What? Dead people?
Alicia Millstone: I know you're scared. Don't be. 'Cause the world really is beautiful.
Sydney Wells: There have been cases of transplant recipients who've actually shown characteristics of the donor.::Dr. Paul Faulkner: Right, that's cellular memory.::Sydney Wells: Yeah. There was a liver transplantation in Kentucky last year. She almost immediately felt the urge to take up smoking and she hadn't her entire life.::Dr. Paul Faulkner: The donor was a chain smoker?::Sydney Wells: Down to the same brand. And a few years ago, this little girl helped the police solve the murder of the person she got her heart from, she kept having visions of the crime. There's some kind of a chemical, it's uh...::Dr. Paul Faulkner: Peptides, that's how the mind and body communicate.::Sydney Wells: So it's not too big a leap to suggest that memories can also be accessed from these organs too.
Sydney Wells: I'm seeing things that aren't real. I'm seeing things I shouldn't see. I'm dreaming things I've never seen. This surgery was supposed to make me normal.
[first lines]::Teen on Skateboard: Oh, shit. Thanks. I didn't see that.::Sydney Wells: Neither did I.::Sydney Wells: [voice-over while Sydney walks in the street and settles in a café] People say seeing is believing, but for me, that's not entirely true. I lost my sight when I was five years old. Those memories of what I have seen have faded so much that I doubt I'd even recognize myself anymore. Now I see using my other senses. I can smell the rain before it drops, but I can't watch it fall. I can feel the sun on my face, but I can't see it rise or set. I want to see the world like everyone else, to see the sun, the rain, the music. Oh I bet music looks beautiful.
[last lines]::Sydney Wells: [voice-over while Sydney is playing the violin] Some say seeing is believing. Now I know what they mean. Ana Christina tried to prevent death, but she ultimately powerless to stop it. Ana and I share both a blessing and a curse. I know now I don't need eyes to see what truly matters. The gift of Ana's sight made me see what I was afraid to. To use that vision to not only save myself and others but to give Ana the peace she never found in life.
Tomi Cheung: Have you seen my report card?
Mrs. Cheung: He's here, isn't he? My Tomi?::Helen Wells: What was that about? Who's Tomi?::Sydney Wells: Her son.::Helen Wells: Where was he?::Sydney Wells: He's dead.
Sydney Wells: See, I have a connection with your daughter.::Rosa Martinez: Dios mio. You have her eyes.
Late last night I was looking through pictures
Flooded with memories I lie on the floor
And spread them around me like friends at a party
There faces remind me of all that I've known
Still I can't forget all the hushed who and why's.
All the fiction and lies and the tears and the laughs
Take a walk through the past you and I hand in hand
As we look at this thing called us
Late last night I was pacing the hallway
Reading the letters you'd signed x and o
I turned out the lights and imagined you with me
I tried my hardest to cry but it just wouldn't come
Still I can't forget all the hushed who and why's
All the fiction and lies all the tears and the laughs
Take a walk through the past
You and I hand in hand
As we look at this thing called us
All the hushed who and why's
All the fiction and lies all the tears and the laughs
Take a walk through the past, you and I hand in hand
Yes we did our best
Never thought we'd be apart
And yes we tried so hard
We pushed ourselves too far
Yes we did our best for us to see
How beautiful we'd ever be
But some pretty things just die someday
And take away the good things that we shared
Some people say love like ours won't fade away
And now we're through
We put our friends in dismay
Yes they did their best for us to see
How wonderful we'd ever be
But they didn't know how hard it is
to be hurt, to be lost in the midst
And we almost gave our lives to be
A flambeaux to give light to you and me
But in return they don't agree
One hundred ninety... worn out!
They cannot be again...
Cannot repeat...
She was only her...
He was only him...
Never again!
There is a dangerous humanity...
Which can kill me, or the ones I love
We are the murderer
We are the undertaker
We are the mourner
The earth is dangerous...
Can I trust in you?
Can you trust in me?
Can I trust in me?
Stone gods
some say it's hard to get it all
but what I dreamed is what I am
I turned my eyes to see it all
to give you what you're looking for
come the force come the wind come the sun
into our ring
make me shine make me rain make clear water with blood
take me high burn me up and tear it all down
push me out throw in the ocean of love
make me one make me I
should I keep you in my wheel should I take you in my arms
if you want what I want
if you need what I am
come on let's be as one
if you want what I want
if you need what I am
come on take me home
step on it stay above I did spoil your life with light
to let you see what can be if our hearts ever collide
won't you give me a try won't you give me another chance
won't you give me a try won't you give me another chance
you're here when I'm there
I see you everywhere
you're cool you're special
you're calm and beautiful
you're a nine you're mine
and we got along at night
if you want what I want
if you need what I am
come on let's be as one
if you want what I want
if you need what I am
come on take me home
won't you give me a try won't you give me another chance
On my own I'm weak
On my own I need
A little hang now and then
Just to tunnel me through
Another mountain
On my own I stumble
On my own I crumble
Beneath the weight of worries
Beneath the skies of trouble
Raining over me
But then you come like the morning
Turning my world with a touch
Chorus
Can't nothing come against us
As long as we're together
There's no table we can't turn
There's no problem we can't weather
As a matter of fact
And a matter of trust
We have nothing to fear
As long, as long, as long as we have us
On my own I struggle
On my own I'm not able
Without someone like you
Just to carry me through
Another valley
On my own I'm nothing
On my own I'm just wandering
Without a purpose or goal
Down a lonely road
That's never ending
Until your faith in me
Gave me a reason to believe
Chorus
We can make it
We can make it through anything
If we don't let change break us apart, apart, apart
I'll be that one and only friend
That you can sure depend upon
I don't care for cruel confrontations
I don't care for cool conversations
I don't care much for a life of crime
I don't care much for violent times
But I care about love
And I care about truth
And I care about trust
And I care about you
And I care about us
I don't care about the art of war
I hate to think of what all this killing's for
I don't care for all this competition
Fortune tellers, superstitions
But I care about love
And I care about truth
And I care about trust
And I care about you
And I care about us
I don't care for phony affectations, oh no
I don't care for this manipulation, oh no
I don't care much for forced affection
I don't care to pursue perfection
But I care about love
And I care about truth
And I care about trust
And I care about you
And I care about us
I can't ever go back to the little cafe with the candle light
That was our cafe and to go there without you wouldn't seem right
Besides I don't want to touch that part of life that meant so much
The days the world belonged to us just us
And I'd telephone at three in the morning just to say hello
And all sleepy eyed you breathed and sighed I love you so
And sometimes we just talked for hours dreaming dreams and building towers
All the world was filled with flowers for us
And I'm gonna miss you for a long long time

I can't ever go back to the cabin there on the mountain side
Where I built a fire and held you close while it snowed outside
And remember you let me sleep all day so we could love the night away
Oh it just find yesterday and us
I've tried making new friends walking new streets and finding new thrills
But nothing new replaces you and it never will
I'll just live my life in memory grateful you once loved me
Thankful that there used to be an us
I can never go back to the little cafe with the candle light

Live like the automatics
Fighting the world alone, battling mobile phones
Fighting society, never did much for me
You want it you got it
Then say that you saw it
You want it you got it
Then say that you saw it
You want it you got it
Please say that you saw it
A weirdo a weirdo a weirdo falling
Live like the automatics
Live like the automatics
Fighting society, never did much for me
Living inside the mould, watching the planets fold
You want it you got it
Then say that you saw it
You want it you got it

Please say that you saw it

We look over our shoulder
And the sunlight never gets older (we’re miles away)
I can’t ever go back to that little café with the candlelight
That was our café, & to go there w/o you wouldn’t seem right
Besides, I don’t want to touch that part of life that meant so much
The days the world belonged to us:
Just us.
And I’d telephone at 3 in the morning just to say hello
And all sleepy-eyed you’d breathe & sigh: “I love you so.”
And sometimes we’d just talk for hours, building dreams & building towers,
All the world was filled with flowers:
For us!
And I’m gonna miss you a long, long time…
I can’t ever go back to the cabin there on the mountainside
Where you built a fire & held me close while it snowed outside
And remember you let me sleep all day
So we could love the night away.
Oh to just find yesterday:
And us.
I tried making new friends, walking new streets, & finding new thrills
But nothing new replaces you, & it never will
Besides, I don’t want to touch that part of life that meant so much
The days the world belonged to us:
Just us.
[Verse 1]
I want that navigator
She got that Adam's apple and she asked about that passion
And we passed her with that nectar
And passed her wacker friend
Piece to the keys to put that car in
If they the keys that act up in
It's beasts in the streets in leather skin
She put a decent effort in but she's at the precinct haemmoraghing
Bring it to these bitches like Alpo
Bitches getting snitches if she under my sExplaincalpel
Bitches getting bitches when I tell 'em who the sight's on
Have these girls runnin' like roaches with the lights on
They been on that goofy shit
We been on that Gucci shit

Ya'll be swearin' you the shit
But ya'll be sharin' shoes and shit
Cool it bitch

[Hook]
Cause I can't entertain you
I got nothing to say to ya (no no)
I don't even blame you
If I was you I'd hate too
You can't even fuck with us
Can't even fuck with us (Worldwide)
You can't even fuck with us
Can't even fuck with us
[Verse 2]
These bitches saying they poppin' shit
And they hatin' cause we are

All them other bitches are the H to the I-Ms
These niggas like her
They try to get in her cypher
But he can't
Can't even roll text with us
These niggas can't even stand next to us
Trust, that I seen these bros be
Tryna make ends meet, Pantene Pro-V
Try to send beats to her
And he's hoping
He can get a 16, he can get me open
But, um, I ain't fuckin' with these hipster niggas
These niggas really like sista niggas
You know, they sweeter than them spritzer niggas
I know niggas probably kissed a nigga
I know niggas probably dicked a nigga
Anyway, it's the B-A-N-K-S
To them niggas with V-I-S-A
C-A-S-H-E-U-R-Os

All these niggas
Oodling, oodling
Yeah, yeah
Ya'll niggas cool and shit
But all my bitches too legit
We rule
A chair is still a chair
Even when there's no one sitting there
But a chair is not a house
And a house is not a home
When there's no one there to hold you tight,
And no one there you can kiss good night.
A room is still a room
Even when there's nothing there but gloom;
But a room is not a house,
And a house is not a home
When the two of us are far apart
And one of us has a broken heart.
Now and then I call your name
And suddenly your face appears
But it's just a crazy game
When it ends it ends in tears.
Darling, have a heart,
Don't let one mistake keep us apart.
I'm not meant to live alone. Turn this house into a home.
When I climb the stair and turn the key,
There's a place where I feel you
And I know you mean more to me
Still waiting
Still holding time
There's a place where I feel you
And I know I mean more to you
Still waiting
I know we often feel the rub of love that we don't always fit quite hand in glove but we live inside of a mystery and my heart often fails to contain and I know that words are not enough when I think of all the endless love that you give to me in my time of need boy, it's high time these words were said [will sell] ask for my hand you know I'll give it and if you're cold I give you warmth and I don't care if it's unfair 'cause I would sacrifice myself now that I know the only thing that matters us us us us it's hard to say what road we're travelling down sometimes it leads us to some awful towns but we somehow keep, both our hands and feet on the floorboard and the steering wheel ask for my hand, you know I'll give it and if you're cold I give you warmth and I don't care if it's unfair 'cause I would sacrifice myself now that I know the only thing that matters us us us us there was a time I lost my eyes there was a day I wasted too much of your golden light ask for my hand you know I gave it I give you warmth and I don't care if it's unfair 'cause I would sacrifice myself now that I know the only thing that matters you're the only that matters you're the only that matters us us us us us us
Are we meant to be friends?
Or something more than just odds and ends
Pardon me to you I ask
Why did you come across my path?
Am I just a foolish guy?
Should I all of these feelings hide
I hope I’m not the only one
That has noticed this midnight sun
Have you
Thought about us
Can you feel this sensation
Did love knock on your door
Is it whispering the word
Us, one little word
Holding our lives between it
If you have any doubts
The answer is us
Does my name tickle your heart
What do you feel when we are apart
Should I stop
And turn around
Before this feeling will
bring me down
Have you
Thought about us
Can you feel this sensation
Did love knock on your door
Is it whispering the word
Us, one little word
Holding our lives between it
If you have any doubts
The answer is us
(Aaaaahi, byeeee)
So, you know how people are
When it's all gone much too far
The way their minds are made
Still, there's something you should know
That I could not let show
That fear of letting go
And in this moment, I need to be needed
With this darkness all around me, I like to be liked
In this emptiness and fear, I want to be wanted
'Cause I love to be loved
I love to be loved
Yes, I love to be loved
I cry the way that babies cry
The way they can't deny
The way they feel
Words, they climb all over you
'Til they uncover you
From where you hide
And in this moment, I need to be needed
When my self-esteem is sinking, I like to be liked
In this emptiness and fear,
I want to be wanted
'Cause I love to be loved
I love to be loved
Oh I love to be loved
This old familiar craving
I've been here before, this way of behaving
Don't know who the hell I'm saving anymore
Let it pass let it go let it leave
From the deepest place I grieve
This time I believe
And I let go
I can let go of it
Though it takes all the strength in me
And all the world can see
I'm losing such a central part of me
I can let go of it
You know I mean it
You know that I mean it
I recognize how much I've lost
But I cannot face the cost
'Cause I love to be loved
Yes I love to be loved
I love to be loved
I love to be loved
I love to be loved
Yes I love to be loved

(feat. Suzie McNeil)
The world is always changing, you can see it every day
But in a tragic situation you just can't hide yourself away
So try a little kindness cause it sure can't be that hard
You're shining in the darkness when you open up your heart
Your love is all we need to bring us together
Don't leave it to me, nothing's for free, it comes down to us
Hungry babies on television, can you feel the shame?
We've got to keep on giving to one another, 'cause it's all gonna happen again
Why don't you try a little kindness cause it sure can't be that hard
Just think about what binds us and find a new place to start
Your love is all we need to bring us together
Don't leave it to me, nothing's for free, it comes down to us
Your love is all we need to bring us together
We're not indestructable, we're some kind of miracle
Happens every day

Yeah let the situation be
Been all up in them sell boss, your characteristics don’t tell at all
Either transparent, you keep it talk
My gangsterism gonn let me know
Fight cuts you gun butts in them niggas that I can’t trust
You know this money lay around, I’ma fuck around
And kill one of you niggas for fuckin it up
I hate rats, disloyal niggas, if death…
Them natreys gonn roll you niggas like white
Hold up, let me load my gun up
Run sex…you fuck boys, for tryina slow my numbers
It’s us gang, respect the movement
The people chose us, dick we ain’t choosin
I was in the kitchen just mindin my bizz
And I said let’s flip this thing to music
And I won’t charge…father show you how fast illusion
Like run up on you, smokin a blunt shit
And everything you live for proof to move it
Gangster shit, it’s not the movies…
And I’m a casket boy, certified, let it go quick boy
Like I ain’t do shit, duffle bag I do love
Get found in abandoned building,
In the dark, somewhere alone just for fuckin with us
It’s just us nigga, industry filled with fuck niggas
So fuck niggas, make me reach out and touch niggas
I’m tryian walk straight and make a mill or 2
These fucking rappers rich and 40’s what a miller do
Some niggas talking coke, some niggas talking bricks
Your favorite rapper, he a liar, he just talking shit
I’m here to speak the truth and I’m about that mess
That money motive, pistol pete, can’t leave out that sex
We from the bronx, grinding, grinding at the top nigga
From the cop, and you snitches all you hot niggas
It’s just us nigga, loyalty a must nigga
My niggas here poppin molly smoking dust niggas
Don’t give a fuck niggas, witness is to buck niggas
And go to jail in that yard and cut niggas
Some niggas rocking flags, some niggas rocking ice
All the girl could want was alittle attention
From a man who's strong and notto mention
Kiss and caressing her all night long
But all that boy wants is to hit and
run off
Heand his friends - they sit andthey laugh
Going around talking 'bout the girlsthey used in the past
You're gonna get what's coming
to you
For all the bad bad things you do
to your
Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazy
If you don't treat her like a lady
She stopped going to church, she
don't wanna go to school
She left with anger when he took her
for a fool
Even though her friends tell her to just
keep cool
Didn't tell her from the start just what
he had planned
Right in her face with another woman
Now she's in jail for attacking her man
You're gonna get what's coming
to you
For allthe bad bad things you do
to your
Lady, treat her like a lady
U'll make a good girl crazyIf you don't treat her like a lady
Tell it to her straight, she can takethe truth
Don't lead her on and leaveher confused
Anyone would rather be alone than
be used
Don't sit and think you'll hurt her feelings
She only wants to know just what thedeal is
Next time beware of whose heartyou're breaking (or stealing)
[Young Noble]
It's only us, me, Kastro, EDI and Napoleon
It's on again, young niggas born again
I wish somebody coulda told me then
That we was gon' grow up to be some lonely men
Now I found out I really don't got friends
Cause nobody come around when I not spend
I walk around this fuckin planet feelin boxed in
Smokin stoge after stoge like it's oxygen
When there was 10 of us we all ate from one dub
Let's turn the dirt to glory for Pac up above
Yak one love, I know you gotta be free
Havin conversations with you when there's nobody but me
I guess whatever don't kill me make me stronger
But I don't know if I can take it any longer
But I got to, cause family live they dreams through us
It's like 5 million lost souls that cling to us
But I know one thing, it ain't shit without y'all
Thug Life for life, Young Noble Outlaw
It ain't shit without y'all
Thug Life for life, Young Noble Outlaw
[CHORUS: Noble]
The only thing that we got left is us
If you don't have nothin else, son, you got my trust
Loyalty come first, I put my life in your hands
I'ma die as a man and die together is the plan
Keep the team stong, make this cream real long
Cash last long enough for our grandkids to eat on
We Outlawz, and if it's on then it's on
Watch my back, I watch yours and we make it through the strorm
Thug on
[EDI]
Early on I knew life wasn't shit
Just made 2, drugs and love made my daddy split
Mama's now forced to turn a boy into a man
Impossible task, still she doin all she can
And I'm growin quickly, slowly started seein things
All the wrong in this world, taught me not to believe in things
Not even man, cause we all change daily
Best friends be tryin to bring each other death quickly
Only the strong survive
As long as I'm alive I ride
Hooked up with some niggas that I knew had my side
O-u-t-l-a-w-z
Me for you, you for me eternally
Makaveli-trained riders
Cause the Don may be gone but he remains deep inside us
It comes out every time niggas try us
Y'all my family until the Lord'll have me I make this promise
[CHORUS: Young Noble]
[Napoleon]
I been wakin up, stressin lately
Sheets wet from the sweat and my hands shaky
I got a kid on the way, I'm kinda nervous
I did some dirt in my life, hope it don't curse it
And all I got left is my Outlaw niggas
My cousins and my brothers and some Jersey drug dealers
I keep my faith in the Lord and stay strugglin
He keep on pushin me forward to stay hustlin
And when Pac died nobody never knew
Or gave a fuck on what the Outlawz was goin through
We kept your heads to the sky and our guns too
We had to ask straight for a dollar to split a cold brew
And through the process our family was still dyin
I got a grip of this shit, there's no complyin
And I'ma be the solid rock that I am, nigga
And I'ma give it all I got to raise my kid, nigga
I got the blood of Malcolm X in me
I got the dirt from the cemetary runnin in me
One way up and that's how we goin, nigga
Now put guns up, the world ain't friendly, nigga
And just wait till you get to hold reality
And just wait, I bet you try to up your salary
And these crackers be doin too much
Let's start the revolution so we can rise up
Come on
[CHORUS]
Thug on
Thug on
Thug on
Outlawz till I die, gee
They made a statue of us
And they put it on a mountain top
Now tourists come and stare at us
Blow bubbles with their gum
Take photographs of fun, have fun
They'll name a city after us
And later say it's all our fault
Then they'll give us a talking to
Then they'll give us a talking to
'Cause they've got years of experience
We're living in a den of thieves
Rummaging for answers in the pages
We're living in a den of thieves
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
We wear our scarves just like a noose
But not 'cause we want eternal sleep
And though our parts are slightly used
New ones are slave labor you can keep
We're living in a den of thieves
Rummaging for answers in the pages
We're living in a den of thieves
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
They made a statue of us
They made a statue of us
The tourists come and stare at us
The sculptor's marble sends regards
They made a statue of us
They made a statue of us
Our noses have begun to rust
We're living in a den of thieves
Rummaging for answers in the pages
We're living in a den of thieves
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
["lala, la, la, la, la" repeated in the background throughout the song]
[Intro: Brother Ali - talking]
Yeah, yeah, I love it
I love it, yes I do
Uh, let me get one more, check this out right here
[Verse: Brother Ali]
Started rhymin just to be somebody
To make people notice me at the party
And not be just the new kid that's Albino
Make 'em say "yeah I know but have you heard him rhyme though? "
Now take that same party around the globe
And my story connected with a lot of folks
I hope so 'cause that's the only thing that I know
I know it so well I tell it with my eyes closed
And I go with the feeling from the start
Blind in the eye, so I see you with my heart
And to me all y'all look exactly the same
Fear, faith, compassion and pain
And try as we may to mask, it remains
Such as your religion or your past or your race
The same color blood just pass through our veins
And tears taste the same when they splash on your face
The World's gettin too small to stand in one place
It's like we're roommates just sharin a space
Can't separate and still carry the weight
Gotta heal, get away from the fear and the hate
Gotta shake free from them chains
You see what remains, just a human being end of the day
Don't matter to me what name you gave your spiritual plane
Close your eyes and you'll see what I'm sayin
Uh, I started rhymin just to be somebody
I found out that I already was
'Cause can't nobody be free unless we're all free
There's no me and no you, it's just us
"Street Preacher" what a fan once called me
I've been called worse and tried to live up
Hope you don't mind a few more stories
Could you tell me who released our animal instinct?
Got the white man sittin' there tickled pink.
Laughin' at us on the avenue
Bustin' caps at each other after havin' brew
We can't enjoy ourselves
Too busy jealous... Of each other's wealth
Commin' up is just in me
But the Black community is full of envy
Too much back-stabbin'
While I look up the street I see all the japs grabbin'
Every vacant lot in my neighborhood
Build a store, and sell their goods
To the county of sips (?)
You know us po niggas: nappy hair and big lips?
Four or five babies on your crotch
And you expect Uncle Sam to help us out?
We ain't nothin' but porchmonkeys
To the average bigot, redneck honky
You say comin' up is a must
But before we can come up, take a look at US
And all y'all dope-dealers...
Your as bad as the po-lice- cause ya kill us
You got rich when you started slangin' dope
But you ain't built us a supermarket
So when can spend our money with the blacks
Too busy buyin' gold an' Caddilacs
That's what ya doin' with the money that ya raisin'
Exploitin' us like the Caucasians did
For 400 years - I got 400 tears- for 400 peers
Died last year from gang-related crimes
That's why I got gang-related rhymes
But when I do a show ta kick some facts
Us Blacks don't know how ta act
Sometimes I believe the hype, man
We're messin' up ourselves and blame the white man
But don't point the finger you jiggaboo
Take a look at yourself ya dumb nigga you
Pretty soon hip-hop won't be so nice
No Ice Cube, just Vannilla Ice
And yall sit and scream and cus
But there's no one ta blame- but US
US ... will always sing the blues
'Cause all we care about is hairstyles and tennis shoes
But if ya step on mine ya pushed a button
"Cause I'll beat you down like it ain't nothin'
Just like a beast
But I'm the first nigga ta holler out {PEACE, BLACK MAN}
I beat my wife and children to a pulp
When I get drunk and smoke dope
Got a bad heart condition
Still eat hog-mogs an' chitlin's
Bet my money on the dice and the horses
Jobless, so I'm a hope for the armed forces
Go to church but they tease us
Wit' a picture of a blue-eyed Jesus
They used to call me Negro
After all this time I'm still bustin up the chiffarobe
No respect and didn't know it
And I'm havin' more babies than I really can afford
In jail 'cause I can't pay the mother
Held back in life because of my color
Now this is just a little summary
Of US, but yall think it's dumb of me
To put a mirror to ya face, but trust
Me and my friends, sittin' on the porch
Thinking about dinner, and we got some smokes
Yeah we like to pass 'em around
Me and my friends we got a car
Our speakers are busted
But we go real far
Yeah and we still turn it up loud
And we don't care about the shape were in
Ain't got no time
Time to sleep
We ain't got no money
For us to keep
But we got us
We got us
We got us
Me and my friends, were more like brothers
We like to tease, and wrestle each other
Yeah, till we all fall down
Yeah, we don't give a damn about the shape were in
Ain't got no time
Time to sleep
We ain't got no money
For us to keep
But we got us
We got us
We got us
We got us
We got us
We got us
Need no one else
Me and my friends, were more like brothers
We like to tease, and wrestle each other
Me and my friends, sittin' on the porch
Lost some time to rearrange From the base to the top And it gets you exactly nowhere... itÂ's time...
Short lastinÂ', moving aside... your holdinÂ' back the will to shove
The us you want is still on my mind... it never lost its weight in time... to find this letdown wired inside
I feel forcibly admired... donÂ't know where to send my useless cup And it gets you exactly nowhere...
ItÂ's time for settlement...
Please don't take you out of us
You took the happy out of happiness you took the love out of loveliness
Take all these precious things from me if you must
But please don't take you out of us
You took the tender out of tenderness you took the hope out of hopefulness
Take all these precious things from me if you must
But please don't take you out of us
Take everything away that's keeping me alive
And you can take away my memory I still survive
Take all the happiness that I've ever known
Take all the tenderness that you've ever shown
Take all these precious things from me if you must
But please don't take you out of us
I want to know why
You're letting this die
Without the blink of an eye
You say that you need time
I say you'll be fine
If you would only see
Like you did before
You became imprisoned
Can I reopen the door
You say it doesn't matter
Then tell me what does
And why that isn't what
You've been thinking of
You say it's never easy
Then tell me what was
Is it never worth the pain
Could you believe it was
When life keeps living
That's what life keeps giving
To us
Once we were one mind
Drifting in one time
And ever true
We were friends
But something is gone from my
Picture of this life
If we could only see
Like we did before
We became imprisoned
Can I reopen the door
You say it doesn't matter
Then tell me what does
And why that isn't what
You've been thinking of
You say it's never easy
Then tell me what was
Is it never worth the pain
Could you believe it was
When life keeps living
That's what life keeps giving
To us
The hope has vanished from your eyes
You were my faith and one truth
There's every reason to get through
The world is always changing, you can see it every day
But in a tragic situation you just can't hide yourself away
Happens every day
(Rusty Young)
Silence is all we have
Between us
To see us
Through the night
Make believe, just pretend
We'll always
And always
Have love
And when the time
Has come for us
To speak our peace
Will there be nothin' left for us
But memories
Or will we make
The same mistakes
We made before
But just go on pretendin' that there's
Nothin' more
And make believe, just pretend
We'll always
And always
