Problems logging in

There are several possible reasons why you may not be able to login to Trade Me;

Wrong email / password
If you enter the wrong email address and password combination, an error message will display. If you've forgotten your password, you may request that password reset instructions be sent to your email address.


Membership not enabled / Confirmation email not received
You need to click on the link in the confirmation email we send to activate your membership. Sometimes our emails are blocked by junk mail settings on your email account. Please ensure your junk mail settings will allow our emails to get through to you. Our emails come from mailer@trademe.co.nz, you need to add this to your address book.


Your cookies are not enabled
If you do not have cookies enabled, you may not be able to login or use the site correctly.

A cookie is a small file that gets stored on your computer and enables you log in.

Cookie options are controlled in your browser preferences which vary depending on which browser you use. Outlined below is where to go to turn cookies on in the most common browsers.

Click "Default Level"

Tick "Accept cookies from sites"
Safari Edit / Preferences / Security >
Under "Accept cookies", choose "Only from sites I visit"

Cookies can also be affected if you are behind a firewall that prevents cookie information being sent through, or you are using browsing acceleration software, as this sometimes removes the cookie data.
