The tongue is a muscular hydrostat on the floors of the mouths of most vertebrates which manipulates food for mastication. It is the primary organ of taste (gustation), as much of the upper surface of the tongue is covered in papillae and taste buds. It is sensitive and kept moist by saliva, and is richly supplied with nerves and blood vessels. In humans a secondary function of the tongue is phonetic articulation. The tongue also serves as a natural means of cleaning one's teeth. The ability to perceive different tastes is not localised in different parts of the tongue, as is widely believed. This error arose because of misinterpretation of some 19th century research (see tongue map).
The eight muscles of the human tongue are classified as either intrinsic or extrinsic. The four intrinsic muscles act to change the shape of the tongue, and are not attached to any bone. The four extrinsic muscles act to change the position of the tongue, and are anchored to bone.
The extrinsic muscles originate from bone and extend to the tongue. Their main functions are altering the tongue's position allowing for protrusion, retraction, and side-to-side movement.

Maj. Hogan: And what are your intentions, Sir Arthur?::Wellesley: Why, Hogan, I mean to give the French a damn good thrashing.
Maj. Hogan: [to Simmerson after the disasterous loss at the bridge] You've lost the Colours, sir. The King's own Colours, touched by his own hand. Now take my advice, and a pistol, and go behind that tent, and blow out what's left of your brains.
[Gibbons has challenged Sharpe to a duel]::Maj. Hogan: Oh, give me your hand, sir! You're a brave fellow, Gibbons! Sharpe's a killer! Killed three French cavalrymen and saved Wellesley's life - three seconds, slash, cut thrust! And that was when he was still a sergeant. Shall we say six o'clock tomorrow morning, in the field behind the camp? Or should we say it was damn dark, and you made a damn bad mistake?::Gibbons: Silly mistake. Say no more about it, eh?::Maj. Hogan: Good thinking, Gibbons. Sharpe would have shot out your left eye at a minute past six, and you'd have spent all day tomorrow looking up at nothing with the other.
[of the South Essex]::Richard Sharpe: They're flogged soldiers, sir. And flogging teaches a soldier only one lesson.::Maj. Hogan: What's that, Richard?::Richard Sharpe: How to turn his back.
Richard Sharpe: Those men who've fought in a big battle before, one pace forward.::[no one moves]::Richard Sharpe: This place is called Talavera. There's going to be a battle here tomorrow. You'll fight in it... maybe even die in it. But you won't see it.::[explosion]::Richard Sharpe: There's a lot of smoke in a battle. Our cannon, their cannon. Our shot, their shell. Our volleys, their volleys.::[shots]::Richard Sharpe: You don't see a battle. You *hear* it. Black powder blasting by the ton on all sides. Black smoke blinding you and choking you and making you vomit. Then the French come out of the smoke - not in a line, but in a column. And they march towards our thin line, kettledrums hammering like hell and a golden eagle blazing overhead. They march slowly, and it takes them a long time to reach you, and you can't see them in smoke. But you can hear the drums. They march out of the smoke, and you fire a volley. And the front rank of the column falls, and the next rank steps over them, with drums hammering, and the column smashes your line like a hammer breaking glass... and Napoleon has won another battle. But if you don't run - if you stand until you can smell the garlic, and fire volley after volley, three rounds a minute - then they slow down. They stop. And then they run away. All you've got to do is stand, and fire three rounds a minute. Now, you and I know you can fire three rounds a minute. But can you stand?
[Richard confronts Berry and Gibbons in the mess after they have raped and flogged Josefina. He throws a glass of wine in Gibbons's face]::Gibbons: I don't fight duels over whores.::[Richard replaces the glass, takes a second and throws it in Berry's face]::Berry: I do.
[During Sir Henry's toast at a dinner party in camp]::Countess Josefina: I'm getting some air. Good night, Major. Enjoy yourself.::Maj. Hogan: [whispering] I will! I've laid ten guineas with Leroy that Sir Henry will talk for a full hour. Five minutes more, and I'll have won my bet.
Wellesley: Sharpe, I can make you a captain, but I cannot keep you a captain. There is talk of an imperial eagle, Sharpe. There is talk of a promise made to the late Major Lennox. Swear to me on oath that the talk is just idle gossip, Sharpe, or by God, sir, you will walk out of that door a lieutenant.::Richard Sharpe: I swear on oath tha no one heard me make a promise in respect of an imperial eagle to Major Lennox, sir.::Wellesley: Colonel Lawford?::Colonel Lawford: Sir?::Wellesley: You may escort Captain Sharpe to the door, Colonel Lawford.
[Sharpe has challenged Berry to a duel after he and Gibbons have raped and flogged Josefina]::Wellesley: My orders are perfectly clear, Lawford. Dueling is strictly forbidden. I shall make no exception in respect of Captain Sharpe. If he fights Berry at dawn, he will be back among the ranks before the sun is up!::[Lawford opens his mouth]::Wellesley: There is no more to say, sir!::Colonel Lawford: Yes, sir.::[Wellesley walks over to Hogan]::Wellesley: French hopping about a bit, Hogan.::Maj. Hogan: Yes, sir.::Wellesley: Send out a patrol to take a look. Not too big. Eight men, two officers.::Maj. Hogan: I have done so, sir. About an hour ago. Captain Sharpe and Lieutenant Berry.::Wellesley: That should do the trick, Hogan.::[Lawford grins]
Colonel Lawford: [on Wellesley] God, Hogan. Horse, foot, cannon... the French outnumber us three to one. Does he know something we don't?::Maj. Hogan: He knows three things, Lawford. He knows that on his left, the French will not attack the fort. He knows that on his right, Simmerson will run. And he knows that in the center, that Daddy Hill will stand. Means nothing to me either, Lawford. That's why he's a general, and we ain't.

Teresa: We have two ears, but only one mouth; so a good leader will listen twice as much as he shouts.
Richard Sharpe: Gimme a pick-lock, Cooper.::Cooper: Pick-lock, sir? Catch me with a pick-lock!::Patrick Harper: They did, Coop. But when you got out of Newgate prison, you got another set, and that's the one the officer wants.::Cooper: Do I get it back, sir?::Richard Sharpe: Trust me.::Cooper: It's very hard to trust a man who wants to borrow your pick-lock, sir.
Teresa: If you were French, I would take a knife and you would tell me all I wanted to know.::Richard Sharpe: But we are allies.::Teresa: Allies? Do allies keep secrets from each other?::Richard Sharpe: Lovers keep secrets from each other, yet they still make love.
Patrick Harper: Now there's a woman worth fighting dirty for, sir.
Patrick Harper: Sweet is the silent mouth, Cooper.::Cooper: Didn't say a word, did I?
Patrick Harper: There are two kinds of officers, sir: killin' officers and murderin' officers. Killin' officers are poor old buggers that get you killed by mistake. Murderin' officers are mad, bad, old buggers that get you killed on purpose - for a country, for a religion, maybe even for a flag. You see that Major Hogan, sir? That's what I call a murderin' officer.
[Sharpe is asking his men about their pasts]::Sharpe: Well?::Harris: Harris. From Wheatley in Oxfordshire.::Sharpe: And previously?::Harris: A courtier to my lord Bacchus and an unremitting debtor.::Sharpe: You're a rake and a wastrel, Harris. Is there anything you *can* do?::Harris: I can read, sir.
Cooper: Can I ask you a question, sir? Where'd you learn to fight so dirty, sir?::Richard Sharpe: Same place as you, Cooper. Saturday night in the gutters.::Cooper: Long way from home, sir.::Richard Sharpe: Never was much of a home, Cooper.::Cooper: No, sir. That it weren't.::Richard Sharpe: Did you volunteer for this lot, Cooper?::Cooper: Uh no, not exactly sir. I was invited to join... by a magistrate.
[Inspecting the "Chosen Men", the company sharpshooters]::Richard Sharpe: Chosen Men, are you? Well, I didn't choose you.
Richard Sharpe: So... the Chosen Men, eh? Well, I didn't choose you. But I know you, you and your kind, all my life. All I know is how to fight. So if there's any man among you expecting a quick ramble through this war, now's the time.::[No one speaks up]::Richard Sharpe: You're sure, now? Right! Join the column, at the double!

It's not for me to say what you should do
Can I make a suggestion, well I suggest that you
Save your pride for the inside, yeah
You should be in submission
You should be on your kneees
Don't want your conversation
If you want to speak to me
Speak in tongues
Do you know the things you should be doing now
Can you read beyond the innocence
Can you read through me the things that we could do
On the way down
You got to let me go, when I come around
You should be in submission
You should be on your kneees
Don't want your conversation
If you want to speak to me
Speak in tongues
And it isn't about us
And it isn't about anything more
Don't pretend it's something, no
Cause I've heard it before
And it doesn't mean anything now
If you can't be my saint then be my whore
And it isn't about love
That isn't about what I came here for
I won't ask for any thing
Don't say a word, just let me in cause
Baby, all I want from you is more
You know what I'm saying
So save you pride for the inside
You should be in submission
You should be on your kneees
Don't want your conversation
If you want to speak to me
You know what you got to do
Speak in, speak in, speak in tongues
So you understand the things that I'm saying now
I can feel the way you burn inside
Can you see through me the things I want you to
Don't deny this
You should be in submission
You should be on your kneees
Don't want your conversation
If you want to speak to me
Speak in, speak in, speak in
This one's for you
This one's for me
This one's for you
This one's for me
I've got a nervous feeling over you
But who am I fooling,
I like airline food
I need to feel whole
I need to feel young again
I need to be bold
And start using my tongue again
They can laugh as they cry
They can cut till I bleed
Well, the tongue inside my mouth is not for sale
Any spirit left in me is fading fast
Could you throw another stone to ease my pain?
Could you throw another stone to seal my faith?
'Cause I didn't believe in this world anymore, anymore
I don't believe in me
And if I can rise above this, I'll be saved
Can anybody save me?
And if I can die for love, then I'm enslaved
Can anybody save me?
Second chances are too few and far between
Will to change this circumstance eludes me still
Should I grow another shell in which to live?
Should I grow another shell and not forgive?
I don't believe in this world anymore, anymore
I don't believe in me
And if I can rise above this, I'll be saved
Can anybody save me?
And if I can die for love, then I'm enslaved
Can anybody save me?
Goodbye cruel world
Goodbye cruel world
Goodbye cruel world
At last you see me drown
And if I can rise above this, I'll be saved
Can anybody save me?
And if I can die for love, then I'm enslaved
Can anybody save me?
And if I can rise above this, I'll be saved
Can anybody save me?
And if I can die for love, then I'm enslaved
Can anybody save me?
Goodbye cruel world
This one's for you
This one's for me
This one's for you
What must I be?
I've got a nervous feeling, over you
I got someone to love me, oh so true
But who am I fooling, I like airline food
I need to feel hope, I need to feel young again
I need to be bold, start using my tongue again
They can laugh as I cry, They can cut 'til I bleed
I ain't losing, 'cause this one's for me
This one's for you
This one's for me
This one's for you
Tell me what the fuck must I be for you
Tell me what must I be for you?
I've got a nervous feeling over you
I've got someone to love me, oh so true
I've got someone who loves me, oh so true
But I need to feel hope, I need to feel young again
And I need to be bold, start using my tongue again
They can laugh as I cry, they can cut 'til I bleed
[Verse 1:]
Live on the air like we own the station
Let me get this house banging like a home invasion
If you listen to the lyrics I'll expose the nation
Cos I got the same hunger that a stoners facing
Now its time for some truth and I know your waiting
To look over my shoulder at the notes I've taken
Fans sue me after shows for their bones they're breaking
Don't they know my music is an ode to Satin? (No... No...)
They ain't had a bad education
They underqualified in a bad situation
I got to rock a mic so the magic I'm making
Will keep your eyes blazed like a happy Jamaican
You wanna talk heat? Tongue broke thermometers
You rappers don't count like votes in Florida
My home town knows now, Sydney don't slow down
Show how we got the hottest freaks in the showground
[Chorus:]
If you ain't hype enough to freestyle on the mic
when your live on the night then your
Not like me
Don't drink at the show?
Not like me
Don't think when you vote?
Not like me
If your letting them beat you down
Letting them teach you how to think
Then your already defeated now
And your not like me
Might think your hot but your not like me
[Verse 2:]
I love this generation and the way that we kick it
They said "go to war" we said "hey you can stick it"
They said rap was wrong because they hated the lyrics
But never for a second were they breaking our spirit, no
New school, new style, new rules
You'll get chewed up you fools
By the best man writing
Rappers ought to do what they say like a deaf man signing
And politicians don't want this conscience emcee
who stays higher and flyer than Qantas
To deliver on the words that he promised
With one verse they scatter like birds when I burn in their forests
You got to see it from the trees
Seperate the front page photos for what you wanna see
Huh, now what you gonna be?
Afraid of the future or make it on your own like me?
[Chorus]
[Hook:]
Making it hot for a reason
Don't try, ask why
Just don't understand what they facing
Watch sparks fly
[Bridge:]
We don't need know bad education
We don't need know mind control
All this time I believed your lie
Raised your flag deep within your sight
I raise my flag to all you hide and drive
Your spike within me within you, within me
What makes you think I wanna know
It makes your life worth living
What makes you think I wanna know
It makes your life worth living
All this time I believed your lie
And raised your god deep within your sight
I raise my glass to all you guys who drive your
God from nothing from nothing means nothing
What makes you think I wanna know
It makes your life worth living
What makes you think I wanna know
It makes your life worth living
Promises you made me all this is apology
So sick of lies don't wanna know
Everybody just called him tongue.
Everybody just called him tongue.
Hell, I knew what his real name was...
Everybody just called him tongue.
Of course, he had this giant tongue...
It was so goddamn big
He could clean his ears with it
Yeah, Tongue was quite the ladies' man.
He fell in love
And she was something.
He wanted, uh,
It's all I want
It's all I need
Just some tongue
Can satisfy me
Don't say u're not ready
Because I know you are
Stop Being shy
You crazy ass whore
Chrous:
Gimme some tongue You dirty ole' slut
I need it now
I need it now
Just some tongue can make me do you
I need it now
I need it now
Help me
Oh, god help me
I'm spraying all over the floor
If you don't tongue me now
I'm gonna fuck some other whore
It's true what I do
If you don't tongue I'll fuck someone else
Gimme a blow
Or else i'll choke
(Chorus)
Bridge:
Masterbation
The key of life
If you don't have a girlfriend
But you have a wife
Do it now
Do it hard
or else we'll do it
Put our finger in our drawers
[Verse 1:]
When we were kids all we used to drink was Coke and ice
Nowadays kids are all about the Coke and ice
This war on drugs is a joke
Since the beginning of time there ain't ever been a dealer that's broke
I don't condone getting high, but condone getting by
Can't you leave me alone while I'm getting mine
I'm, trying to practice my lines
Off a mirror, backstage, no shame, my moment to shine
Saturday nights are live like this life is Hollywood
But just because you feel good doesn't mean you're OK
Keep your eye on the ball like it's croquet
Cause even a president can fall prey to cocaine
We're all chasing a rush, maybe you're chasing a dream, chasing yourself
Or making a bust
Either way I prey you making a buck
I think they'd take less drugs if the rest of us gave more love
[Chorus: Ozi Batla]
I've been living so wrong, for so long, and I can't change my ways
I won't ever stop trying but I can't get up out this place
Will I be here forever?
Is this forever?
[Verse 2:]
From Bob Marley to Bob Dylan
From Picasso to Presley
To John Lennon, to Keith Richards
The brightest minds of our time have been addicted
Or 'enlighted', depending on how you paint the picture
Johnny Cash didn't sleep for days
Hendrix had the whole damn world in a purple haze
Cobain slept on the H-train next to Ray
Round the world Ozzy Osbourne was leading the way
From the top of the Hollywood Hills to the favelas in Brazil
Rich and poor hands are reaching for pills
The truth's inconvenient but cigarettes kill
A lot of people that don't think cigarettes will
Leave em' real short of breath with a hospital bill
Who would have thought that that product would be profitable?
Guess we're terminal by nature - it was bound to happen
That's why death sells like this life is going out of fasion
[Chorus: Ozi Batla]
I've been living so wrong, for so long, and I can't change my ways
I won't ever stop trying but I can't get up out this place
Will I be here forever?
Is this forever?
[Verse 3:]
Ey, let's take a look what we have
White male qualified for rehab
Bad habits took him to a place that he didn't want to be at
It ain't nothing to brag about
Those high hopes did nothing but drag him down
He was looking for a way to get the madness out
Jose Cuervo couldn't pull the answers out
But he, never claimed to be a victim
Just felt frustrated that he screamed and the world didn't listen
The world didn't get him
Felt like his feet stuck in setting concrete when he's stepping
Brave new world outside and he's missing it, out of it
Soon side effects become significant, he's floundering
Down again, jammed, can't get with the program
One man's tale of a chemical romance
[Ozi Batla/Tongue:]
Blaze it up! Blaze it up! Blaze it up!
[Chorus: Ozi Batla]
I've been living so wrong, for so long, and I can't change my ways
I won't ever stop trying but I can't get up out this place
Will I be here forever?
[Verse 1: The Tongue]
Hey yo second-hand flows like second-hand clothes
Both ain't worth shit like second-hand blow
I never rocked either at a show
And money is time so keep it moving like a second-hand bro
No, I never claimed to be pretty
Humble like the prostitutes working the johns of the city
Humble like a father of three, working three shifts
Back to back so the trio can eat
But in my life the hero is me
And before the credits roll the crowd needs something to see
You're a working bee on the smallest tree
Thinking a working-class hero is something to be
See those destined for greatness, have no patience
We rise to the top like we were weightless
Fire off a heat-seeker, find ya playlist
Biters get burnt just trying to taste this
So spit your excuse out and make your mess
Your home ain't where your heart is - change address
We side-step the bullshit you just put your foot in
This is how you get good looking!
[Chorus:]
Toy rappers with a mic? That's a bad look
Taking shots at Jimmy Nice? That's a bad look
Look - I'm a show you how you break this down
This is how you get good looking!
Twenty people at a show? That's a bad look
If your weed won't grow - that's a bad look
Look - I'm a show you how to break this down
This is how you get good looking!
[Verse 2: Nick Lupi]
It's Mr. Lup ah, you can trust I'm in the building
Came through looking like a million bucks
Do it for the children but, you know the deal
Say the wrong words man and you will get touched
We looking so good they couldn't believe it
Need a "bad education" they should've repeated
Rappers - I ain't seen their teeth since
We hit the streets like a league secret
No girls at your shows? That's a bad look
Booked acts a joke, promoters are mad crook
But as long as these drop-kicks are putting their hard-earned in
Week after week their insular world it keeps turning
The future's looking real pretty to the point that now they got no choice but to
Deal with me
SS, Tongue, the illist in the city and we
Itching for a mirror cause we're feeling real spiffy!
[Chorus:]
Clothes that don't fit? That's a bad look
Has-beens talking slick? That's a bad look
Look - I'm a show you how to break this down
This is how you get good looking!
Twenty people at a show? That's a bad look
If your weed won't grow - that's a bad look
Look - I'm a show you how to break this down
This is how you get good looking!
[Verse 3: Just Enuf]
Said I'm a every-day dog walking-player I got em gawking
Falling foe me, it's gotta be the smile
The envy of toy rappers little boy fasion frauds
That lack authority and style and they cramping mine
ElefantTraks and SS tandem
We a handful of freshness, death-threats and ransom
Notes in the form of my raps, trying to buy back the look with the
"New school, new style, new rules"
I'm the Yves St Laurent of these breaks cool like a second hands these days
Over-sized shirts and pants that's not a good look - player please face it
Trying too hard's not a good look
Even if you're good looking or a good cook
Look at me for guidance - the nicest
No more stripes - I'm freshjive
[Verse 1:]
Pop your corks if you're a champaign socialist
Open up a sweat shop, let's make the most of this
Ridiculous, conspicuous society we got
Where tax never touches those living at the top
Where a track like this - won't ever get a shot at the pop charts
I wanna punch on with rockstars
Fuck a film clip with big tits and hot cars
My gimmick is my lyrics are likely to stop hearts
It's not hard, to show some humanity
Or get a rocket launcher and aim the thing at Channel V
Ha! I'm flipping my lid!
Can't believe Pegz ain't platinum - and Pete Murray is
Feel it in your guts like a hit to the ribs
As you listen to that television fib to your kids
When the fuel runs out - the fools rush in
The end of the beginning, the beginning of the end!
[Chorus:]
I'm a one shot kill like heroin, experiments
Are bound to blow up - if you add the right element
And real skills is the medicine
When MCs do anything to get played then don't say anything
A one shot kill like heroin, experiments
Are bound to blow up - if you add the right element
And my message is the medicine
When MCs do anything to get played then don't say anything
[Verse 2:]
I was born in '84
And us kids this world was made for
Have done nothing but get high and piss on the decor
We got a core that's as hard as an acorn
We need support so many new laws to take on
Cause everyday we're told to "get our invade on"
Afghanistan, Iraq, so many people to hate on
I reckon that don't make sense for five seconds
Can you hate a poor family if you never even met em'?
Can't we ask for peace before armaggedon?
Arn't we forgetting the first commandment?
Arn't we setting fire to the very thing we need most?
With no love there's no hope that's no joke
I got the jump on this game real quick so I could get up on your radio and
Say real shit
It ain't all my pain but it's what I see
And what I feel
So I guess now that's who I be...
(I got something to show you but you may not want to see it
I got something to tell you but, you may not believe it
Even though you might feel wide awake - to me it looks like you're dreaming
I can't get to sleep from the screams outside - how can everybody be dreaming?)
[Verse 3:]
I maintain the right to bust
We all gotta say our piece before we bite the dust
So many wrongs in a system that ain't right for us
We gotta fight for them but they won't fight for us
Na, that makes no sense, so I make no apologies
About declaring war on war-like ideologies
Except my invasion will go better than theirs did
A new world mind-state embedded in their kids
In all fairness justice is the rarest commodity we got left - I'm spreading
Awareness
They walk free despite how much evidence there is
You don't care but that doesn't mean you should be careless
We made the mess party people - we should clean it up
2000 and 7 year bender - we should be easing up
Tomorrow morning it's a brand new day
Take a second look and see it in a brand new way
[Chorus:]
I'm a one shot kill like heroin, experiments
Are bound to blow up - if you add the right element
And real skills is the medicine
When MCs do anything to get played then don't say anything
A a one shot kill like heroin, experiments
Are bound to blow up - if you add the right element
And my message is the medicine
When MCs do anything to get played then don't say anything
(I got something to show you but you may not want to see it
I got something to tell you but, you may not believe it
Even though you might feel wide awake - to me it looks like you're dreaming
I can't believe it
Talking to people here
Cowboys and Indians
Have taken control
It really was a wild one
But summer has come and gone
A lot of nice people would fade away
Hold back seasons
Take back the memory
Hold on to something
Better hold on to you
It really was a wild one
But summer has come and gone
I know a DJ, I know a DJ [x4]
[Verse 1:]
I had 12 tracks recorded and ready to play
When a call from the label says they're on their way
To the studio to hear what I'm plotting on dropping
In ya ear, at the time, felt like, this was the record of the year
Confidence - all time high, friends dug it, heads love it
Had a twinkle in my eye 'til the man in the suit said he can't compute
So I looked at him a little confused
He took a breath and told me "Look son, it's really so simple
The rhymes are hot but I can't hear your single
You're gonna need something for the kids to sweat you
Or a, beat from Kanye so fans'll respect you"
I thought about his proposition, then explained how there's many other ways I
Can dominate the competition
I ain't gotta go mainstream to blow, and I ain't gonna blow to go
Mainstream, for sure
So if even the radio don't give this love I know DJ Diaz'll cut it up in the club
[Chorus: scratch by Diaz]
[Verse 2:]
You see a single is just that - one idea
One shot to hit the big time and get out there
To the kids and the wallets, try to make a profit
Off the last 5 years that you put into your product
No shame in tryna make a doller outta the game
It's no game when radio's paid to push play
It's OK to reject the role they wrote ya
Don't act Cyprus Hill if you be a non-smoker
Or let the magazine gloss blur vision
Front covers only last 'til the next edition
After that you're the next addition
To a list of victims falling hard off a chart position
They got egos for airbags so teeth get chipped
When the self-esteem crashes and the wings get clipped
But even if the TV don't give this love
I know that DJ Skoob'll spin it up in a club
[Chorus: scratch by Skoob]
[Verse 3:]
You may have noticed my humour's dry, won't water this down for the human eye
Rather you cry me a river, so I can go swimming in the tears of a music critic
I'm self-acquitted, of the need to reform or assimilate
Wear a black hat to the side or imitate
Imagination is back in fasion
Had to unplug the cable for that to happen
Looked inside myself like my eyes turned 180 degrees
Slaughterhoused 80 mc's, 'til they lent me their ears,
Lent me a hand, pull each other up under-ground take a stand
Spread like rumours and tumors until the tenants upstairs see there's
No room for improvement
Cause this music is something special,
Down for the cause like a monk with a can of petrol
Can I get you to say: independant hip hop all damn day!
Cause even if our leaders won't give this love
I know El Gusto'll bang it out in the club
[Chorus: scratch by El Gusto]
[Verse 1:]
A new day dawns and it still ain't rained
And some say the planet earth still ain't changed
I wonder what they make of the extended summers
And storms that don't stop 'til the whole town's under
Seems we all just do what we feel like
Do whatever feels good - not what feels right
Not sure why but we've sacrificed foresight
Blinded by the lights of these television screens
I want to hear the television scream
Instead of reading us the small print of big business deals
Imagine how your kids would feel growing up
Skin burning up each day, heat wave never slowing up and sure enough
The powers that be create argument
But that's a childs game, we both know who started this
You once made a promise, I hope you can remember it
COs we've got no choice but to accept this inheritance
[Chorus: Jane Tyrell {Vocals}]
Look what we inherited
This is what we inherited
How can we say thank you
If you won't let us open our mouth?
Look what we inherited
This is what we inherited
How can we say thank you
If you won't let us open our mouth?
[Verse 2:]
Can't you understand how the modern man was made insane?
When his plans for the future feel made in vain?
When anyone who makes a stand gets chopped at the knees?
Unarmed protesters shot by police
Then reports switch name-tags - we're the enemies
It's a "bad education" when you can't afford the fees
The pieces of this pie could feed forty thieves
If you've never smelt the greed you're a little naïve
And a little like me, back when I was 18
Before I saw blood spilt for an Australian dream
It was your blood, my blood
OhLord wise up, rise up and see how they're blundering your kingdom
But second coming never came it's a shame that if God don't exist then that
Makes you insane
He'll discipline his children with the force of the elements
And we've got no choice but to accept his inheritance
[Chorus:]
Look what we inherited
This is what we inherited
How can we say thank you
If you won't let us open our mouth?
Look what we inherited
This is what we inherited
How can we say thank you
If you won't let us open our mouth?
[Verse 3:]
We all in this together, so keep digging your grave so we can fall in
Together
Climbing out would give in to pressure
Have you ever had the guts to admit we don't live forever?
No cure for denial, praise for false idols
Easy to get dizzy on a downward spiral
Still blockout, can't blockout the burning truth
The sins of the father revisit the youth
It's a black and white issue now that green turned brown
Red faced when I think about how we turned out
Owed the world everything, we dying in debt
Life's a mirror that reflects what's under the flesh
And there isn't an alternative to breath
Believe this alternative energy is our alternative to death
But I'm a sinner too, sense regret in my sentiment
All I wanna do is thank you for this inheritance
[Chorus:]
Look what we inherited
This is what we inherited
How can we say thank you
If you won't let us open our mouth?
Look what we inherited
This is what we inherited
How can we say thank you
If you won't let us open our mouth?
[Man: talking]
Hey man are you The Tongue?
[Tongue:]
Yeah... G'day mate, how you going?
[Man:]
Yeah, sick man, sick
[Tongue:]
Yeah...
[Man:]
Let's battle ey
[Tongue:]
Ah mate I'm just... I'm just chilling tonight, I'm just having a beer and
[Man:]
Hey Terry check it out! It's The Tongue
Says he's gonna battle
[Tongue:]
Nah mate, it's alright, I'm not gonna battle just having a beer...
[Man:]
Oh c'mon man what's wrong with you
[Tongue:]
Nothing's wrong with me I just...
[Man:]
What you're all talk man, step up!
[Tongue:]
Mate, I'm just having a beer alright
[Man:]
Come on pin dick! Let's do it - you and me
[Tongue:]
What did you call me?
[Man:]
You fucking heard
[Tongue:]
Alright
[Verse 1:]
Hey yo, When I step to battle, shit gets biblical
Fire and brimstone, hit home with my lyrical assault
I inflict wounds then rub in salt, spray lemon juice, point and say it's
All your fault
And it is if you thought that I wouldn't retort
Or respond, cause you're wrong, see my mind is a bomb
That explodes whenever it's owner gets in the zone
And you just lit the fuse so now I'm ready to blow
Going postal, my blitzkreig is coast to coast fool
I'll eat you for breakfast, after I toast you
In front of your friends, test once son never again
Get defensive cause I'm out to offend
Mad with raps, causing every fan to clap
A white boy who beats rappers til his hands are black
And if you answer back, we can clash in round two
Lord forgive them for they know not what they do!
[Chorus:]
Everybody in the world's got something to say, but if you wanna come test me
I'll have you singing the blues
I got you singing the blues
Everybody in the world's got something to prove, but if you wanna bring beef
My way
I'll have you singing the blues
I got you singing the blues
[Verse 2:]
(and everytime we battle is)
A good day for me, a bad day for you
A good day to you sir, you've just been dismissed
And dissed, by a man who's got the gift
Of gab
But it ain't Gift Of Gab
Na, it's Tongue
Mr. "OK man you've won! "
Mr. I won't stop til I'm done
Slamming, ramming home the point
That when it comes to this battle shit you know I own the joint
Who's deadly on the mic with a capital D?
That's me, you phoney with a capital P
You phone me to apologise after you lose
I accept cause, fuck it, I got nothing to lose
But I do nothing but win, once the battle begins
I'm, as steady as a rock, you're a sock in the wind
With a bunch of soggy lines that you wrote with a friend
Now you praying for this moment to end... You fucking wally!
[Chorus]
[Verse 3:]
I turn rappers to blues singers
They so soft like fairy floss, they need new knickers
New triggers for their flare guns, call for help
I snigger as I send all these devils to hell
I'm quicker on the draw like an art-eest
Fakes get caught out in the end like they are priests
Aren't we, satisfied that I'm fly yet?
How many of you sour grapes should I digest?
I just speak from my heart like I had lips in my chest
You shit talk with piss on your breath
And I don't take no crap, put your lighters up yo,
Cause this ain't no match, you ain't got no fire
And you don't bring any heat, Tongue your worst nightmare
And I ain't lost no sleep
So you could call me psychic but I saw this coming
Now listen to the sound of the 5-string strumming...
[Chorus]
[Verse 1:]
It was the end of the year, yeah
How I made it 52 weeks that'll never be clear
But I'm here and I'm breathin, bruises have healed from the beatings
Still getting used to the feeling
Of proving the things I believe in
Like using my mic and my mind for removing the ceiling
Revealing a movement of people who dreamin
And fightin for peace so they can't be defeated
My reason is blind if you follow my meaning
Tongue is hip hop and it's what completes him
Fiending left to avoid the deamons
Keep in step or destroy the sequence
Wherever your hearts at be reppin it right
Sometimes the hard times are the best in your life
And it's like I'm a danger to closed minds
December 31st definition of showtime
[Chorus: x2]
Hot for eleven and one months
They talk for a year and I setup with one punch
Which sums up all I wanna live life for
Opposed to the war but I know what I fight for
[Verse 2:]
So many trapped in the loop like a sample
I learned you're unlikely to lose if you gamble
Our chances increase with the cards that we handle
You making excuses or make an example
Now I smoked and I drank and was broke and I'm blanking an ocean
Of pain and I hope that I sang 'til I fall from my spot
And I clawed to the top
Of my soul and I'm scared that I'll fall if I drop
But the forces of nature are forcing the haters
To hide from the hail, I rain on parades'
Retreat in the charts like a table in Vegas
Cash in, cash out - and they're out - see ya later
They faceless. I'm lookin in your eyes for ages
Married to the beat now I sign the papers
Ain't no unfaithful behavior
It ain't the days but the years that make ya
[Chorus x2]
[Bridge:]
We ain't gonna let them drag this one down
We ain't gonna let them drag this one down
We ain't gonna let them drag this one down
[Verse 1:]
I don't know the reason
I don't know his name
But someone's really trying to kill me
I've seen him fly a plane right into a building
I've seen him in the eyes of the poorest children
He puts the saturated fat in your KFC
The multiple choice question in the HSC
Censorship on the ABC, yeah, he sells off your roads and your water and your
Health-care G!
Someone's really trying to kill me, you heard it first
They looked me up on Google Earth
Surrounded the house with a Blockbuster video, bank and a petrol station
I'm inside pearing out the blinds like Malcolm
X-tremely defensive, determined to fight off infection
The outcome is life or death
Gonna have ta clean up my act if I'm a live through this mess
Cause...
[Chorus:]
Somebody's trying to kill me
His record is clean but his mind is filthy
He's after my dreams, I just wanna be healthy
Can't you hear his name when the cold wind blows?
Sombody's trying to kill me
He's doing it slow, I won't make it to fifty
He'll end your career if you think too quickly
Can't you hear his name when the cold wind blows?
[Verse 2:]
He makes funds from the smoke that you pull into your lungs and the
Bullets that you put into your guns
Got an empirer built on prescription drugs
I'm 22 now how long can I run?
The sneakers on my feet got his name on the tag
He bought me a ticket for a plane to Iraq
From a distance he kinda looks the same as my dad
Middle-aged and white, won't give away the mic
Or my right to resist cause
Life is a bitch but death is her ugly sister
We all in danger, stuffing our big mouths with candy from a stranger
Sugar in your alcohol to add flavour
Fumes in the air for you and your neighbour
His hearts black as ink on the Sunday paper
But I got dreams of better living
He's two-faced so I'm a make sure the whole head is missing
[Chorus:]
Somebody's trying to kill me
His record is clean but his mind is filthy
He's after my dreams, I just wanna be healthy
Can't you hear his name when the cold wind blows?
Sombody's trying to kill me
He's doing it slow, I won't make it to fifty

We ain't gonna let them drag this one down
We ain't gonna let them drag this one down
[Scratches: DJ Diaz]
Is this forever?
They like me like flies on stinking meat. Well I have pull with him, but pull's a bastard. Well, I am a hideous thing. I know ain't much redeeming me, but I have pull with him. And... this molestesd trash begs for forgiveness. This molested trash, so used to the punishment. Now this molested trash has a tongue like a serpent. Now this molested trash is eating up all of the punishment. It's too late, it's too late, it's too late I am used.
thank you for the time.
like a razor kiss my wound.
cut me to open.
i'm ready to use.
bring the newer ending sense.
i need the comfort of a stranger.
eighteen years all the wait.
like a razor kiss my wound
thank you for the touch.
like a razor kiss my wound.
[Verse 1:]
Didn't we all see the news that day
And watch as she used that plane to convey her abuse and her pain
Had no use for name, rules had changed
Fixed bets made sure she would lose the game
Trapped under the weather, get used to rain
I'm a "love you forever" I used to say
Never thought she'd react in this ruthless way
Now her hearts turned black and the future's grey
She was hanging from my promise but the noose would frey
I had lovers on her bed where she used to lay
Yes we connected for a moment like June and May
Till our collision made the whole world move astray
[Chorus:]
She flew a plane into my heart
Revenge for the lies I'd been telling from the start
She flew a plane into my heart
And things fall apart
Wash away my sins in a shower of glass
[Verse 2:]
And in the hours that past
The past warred with the present
I was tortured by thoughts running like storms in the desert
Though my friends tried to calm me I hardly could hear them
Or see a reason for this kamikaze
Her heart beat deafened like a march of an army
My fury bloomed like an arching tsunami
Why had she wanted to harm me?
What was the question the mute girl had wanted to ask me
Regardless I answered sharply
With spite and a backhand, love letter ash in a trash can
Humiliated I erased the evidence
No respect for the weak can't fake the sentiment
So I take the relevant resources I need, for free
Her knees bleed as she pleads for me
To let her whisper in my ear "one last chance"
I lift her to her feet for our one last dance
And as we touch there's a blood rush
I blow her a kiss
Pull her forward for the real thing I know it's her wish
But her trust had been corrupted forever
By a man's lust for pleasure
All she could say was
[Chorus: The Tongue, Vocals in parentheses by Bertie Blackman]
(Don't you ever ever)
(Don't you ever ever)
She flew a plane into my heart
(Don't you ever ever)
Revenge for the lies that I'd been telling from the start
(Don't you ever ever)
(Don't you ever ever)
She flew a plane into my heart
And things fall apart
Wash away my sins in a shower of glass
[Hook:]
[Grand Puba:] "Time recognise how uncivilized we got"
"Damn girl did I offend you"
[Lord Jamar:] "I apologise... It's time to come correct"
"Time to recognise how uncivilised we got"
"She be dealing with some issues that you can't believe"
"We cracked our dream with a lack of resepct
It's time to come correct... It's time to come correct"
"It's time to re-re-re-re-recognise how uncivilised we got"
[Hook: Chasm on the decks]
Hyper than the little kid on ginseng
Bring... bring... bringing the heat
[Verse 1: The Tongue]
Now I'm a rock to my soap box like Marley did
Float like words of peace off a Ghandi's lips
Skate board lyricism pulling narley flips
My whole life has been one long party trick
But now I gotta talk about a bigger part of this
The part of a rappers heart where the darkness is
The narcissist inside the artist
It's time to find out what the fear of an artist is
Starting with the business - the hardest bit
Who you gonna trust when your units start to shift
How you gonna think straight if you spark a spliff
Knowing every A and R wants an arse to kiss
Yo there's no clear answer they'll ask you if
You can record a hit so big it's hard to miss
Rumour mills turn truth into the darkest mist
Blinded by the question "should I be apart of this? "
[Chorus x2: The Tongue]
They'll have you bugging out
You'll feel like running now
And all the people and the pressure have you bugging out
Do the Corruption Bounce
When we be bugging out
From the pressure and the stress you're bugging out
[Verse 2: The Tongue]
The second issue is the lifestyle that's wearing me down
It puts pressure on you're neck when you wearing a crown
Elefants built the scene up, not tearing it down
Any weed up on the tour bus we share it around
I'm on the Aussie Batla breakfast, hare of the hound
Dogs bollocks in your wallets, money's rarely around
Tongue can't hear excuses just spare me the sound
Spare some change for the street urchant that's staring you down
You better up-size your party hat when we're in you're town
And I ain't leaving 'til I see my CD there in ya house
My heads high off my shoulders and buried in clouds
I know my people when I see them, you're there in the crowd
Still I rap rookie breaker
Freestyle hash-cookie baker
Call me the inner-space invader
Who treats any fan like a neighbour
And sleeps til it's dark in a park on some bugged out behaviour
[Chorus x2]
[Hook]
[Verse 3: The Tongue]
Man that's my life
Any man has his price
Try'na stay sane while going mad on these mics
Damn is it like this for ya whole career
Who'se dropped, what's flopped, what's gold this year
What time is it here, I'm try'na focus
But keep bugging out worse than flys and locusts
The heat and the pressure both try'na choke us
So the fact I'm alive should inspire the hopeless
Corruption bounces of protest
Cause bouncing be no less than agony throughout this whole process
If you playing blame games it'll cost ya
Thought hip hop would be laid back but it's corrected my posture
And I'm a never be the same
So pump up the volume and take a little pleasure in my pain
Call my name, here I come
90 to nothing, watch me run
You call, I am ashamed
to say ugly girls know their fate
anybody can't get laid
you want a room with a fire escape
I wanna tell you how mutch I hate this
don't leave this stuff all over me
It paints me
please just leave it
[Intro: Georgia Ann Muldrow in parentheses]
(Good morning kids... It's story time!
We gonna learn about how the animals feel about humans)
Animals crackers in my soup!
(Here we go!)
[Verse 1: Dudley Perkins (Tongue) {Georgia}]
Warrior of the light, fight the mighty fight
With the eyes of an owl, with the eyes of an owl
{The owl says... }
In the darkness of the night, we see you, we see how you do
How you bring death (death), love to see life take it's last breath (breath)
So just confess, you humans are such a mess (such a mess)
You need to give it a rest, your car's smoke is starting to eat up at my chest
Not to mention how it's treating all the rest, of life
Oh how we have to fight to live our life! (that's right)
One of nature's god-given-rights - look - now do you have a clue?
What we ever do to you? That's our rainforest too!
OK dude, it's getting out of hand, put the gun away before my homie eats your hand
{The lion says... }
And I'm real hungry too! Ever since y'all meat-sticks came through it's been
Bad man
What we do to you?
I should just eat you! Yeah, that should take care of you!
Killing just to kill a man
We kill to get our fill, y'all kill to get the dollar bill
What a disgrace! And what a waste! Come closer, and let me have a taste!
{Hey, the crocodiles says... }
Yeah, me too, rock rock on
Salt-water crocs almost all gone
They say I look fly on the feet
You people would look fly in my cheek
Silly human suit, how about a silly human suit?
So I can buy a gun, so I can aim and shoot
Or better yet some oil, burn and pollute
Cause how y'all living ain't cute
What will it take? What will it take?
{The snake says... }
[DUDLEY:]
Yesss, yesss, yesss
[Georgia:]
Scary snake says...
[Verse 2: Tongue]
Yes sir, this is war and it's flesh versus fur
We the unpaid servants, serpants hissing out a fresh first verse drowned out
By the traffic
You humans are deafened by your own words - how tragic!
Habitats dance to the sound of the hatchet
We speak up for trees ground down into matches
Bees and the birds make love, never beef with the herd
Why you people hunt peace to disturb?
Keep to your word even when world heating occurs
You ate my brothers without meeting them first!
Served them with meat plus the rice and salad
Crying crocodile tears as I write this ballad about this battle
Polar bears get ready to paddle, and prepare for a journey they never should
Have taken
Earth's quaking, fish scales getting burnt like bacon
Caged birds dream of escaping
Drugs in the blood pulls the bull out of men see 'em raging, scratching
Biting
Never act nice when all we wanna do is get along
Or at least live on - true animals sing along!
[Chorus/Bridge: Dudley, Tongue and Georgia]
Animal crackers in my soup! Most y'all humans is loopty loop!
[Georgia:]
And that's how the animals feel...
Animal crackers in my soup! Most y'all humans is loopty loop!
(loopty loop!)
Most y'all humans is loopty loop!
(loopty loop!)
Most y'all humans is loopty loop!
(loopty loop!)
What?
