A street is a paved public thoroughfare in a built environment. It is a public parcel of land adjoining buildings in an urban context, on which people may freely assemble, interact, and move about. A street can be as simple as a level patch of dirt, but is more often paved with a hard, durable surface such as concrete, cobblestone or brick. Portions may also be smoothed with asphalt, embedded with rails, or otherwise prepared to accommodate non-pedestrian traffic.
Originally the word "street" simply meant a paved road (Latin: "via strata"). The word "street" is still sometimes used colloquially as a synonym for "road", for example in connection with the ancient Watling Street, but city residents and urban planners draw a crucial modern distinction: a road's main function is transportation, while streets facilitate public interaction. Examples of streets include pedestrian streets, alleys, and city-centre streets too crowded for road vehicles to pass. Conversely, highways and motorways are types of roads, but few would refer to them as streets.

Plot
Jackson Stone is a reckless and troubled teen who rejects faith and the church as he blames God for everything bad in his life. At home, his seemingly uncaring parents ignore him, at school he's an outcast, and his only friend, Gunner, continues to pull him deeper and deeper into the abyss of trouble on the streets. Jackson struggles to come to terms with his fear of death, and his own mortality as he fights a life threatening illness. After a brush with the law, Jackson is sentenced to community service and placed under the watchful eye of Russell Tecumseh, a tough, streetwise pastor who operates a local homeless shelter. While at the shelter, Jackson forges an unlikely friendship with Nathan, a destitute homeless veteran, and as their friendship flourishes, they each learn important lessons about life, trust, and something neither have truly experienced... Friendship. As Jackson progresses towards faith, he begins to transform from a street hoodlum to a responsible young man, but his fragile faith is rocked when Nathan reveals a shocking secret from his past. Jackson suddenly finds himself at a crossroads, and now must choose between what's easy and what's right as his own destiny hangs in the balance. Jackson's Run is a family friendly, faith-based, "Rites-of-Passage" story that explores life, death, suffering, and God's purpose in it.

One family. Infinite degrees of separation.
Malcolm: Make sure you can handle rejection. I can't.
Margot: Stop picking on me.
Pauline: What was it about Dad that had us fucking so many guys?
Margot: He's not ugly. He's completely unattractive.
Malcolm: I haven't had that thing yet, where you realize that you're not the most important person in the world.
Claude: Did she poop in her pants?::Margot: It happens to everyone, not just babies. It will happen to you too someday.
Malcolm: Paul apologizes for not coming. She's still getting the house ready.::Margot: I'm sorry it was such short notice.::Malcolm: I don't care. Paul's frantic, but I don't give a shit. Oh, and Ingrid wants me to tell you that she made us all bracelets.::Ingrid: No, I said we should wait.::Malcolm: I thought you asked me to tell them. Anyways, I got Knicks colours.::Ingrid: They're not Knicks colours!::Margot: It's beautiful, Ingrid.::Ingrid: Where's your dad and Josh?::Claude: They might come later.::Margot: Josh's spring break is next week, and then Jim teaches through Friday. Then he opens the house in Vermont on the weekend.::Malcolm: It means a lot to Pauline that you came.::Margot: Good.::Malcolm: [swerving to avoid a car] Holy Jesus! Watch it, dicksack! God! If you're wondering about the mustache...::Margot: No, I wasn't.::Malcolm: I had a full beard for a while, and then when I shaved it I left this part for last, you know, to see how it looked. And... it's meant to be funny.
Pauline: I was dating that guy Horace back then. Do you remember him?::Margot: Was that the guy who liked to rough you up?::Pauline: No, that was our dad.::Margot: Our dad used to strip down to his skivvies and beat us with a belt.::Malcolm: That man had a sexual screw loose.::Pauline: That's awful, that stuff that happens to kids. Malcolm was fondled by a male babysitter.::Malcolm: Just use that information however you want.
Malcolm: My scrotum is longer than my penis.
Margot: You didn't notice anything different about Pauline?::Claude: No.::Margot: She's pregnant. She told me. She's keeping it a secret from Malcolm and even Ingrid, which I think is unforgivable. Now she's gonna have to marry him. What's she planning on doing, getting married and not drinking champagne? Then she's just gonna be lying. I guess she's afraid she'll miscarry. She probably will. I think on some level, she's ambivalent about the marriage. That's why she's not telling him.::Claude: Are you stoned, Mom?::Margot: Maybe a little.::Claude: I don't like it.
Narrator: Sylvester say, "You crazier than a fish with titties if you think I'ma let you smoke that shit up in my car."

[Intro: Bizzy]
(Yeah) Just, just, just, just, just, just
Just ridin, ridin (ridin in the city streets nigga)
Just, just, just (Hi Power nigga) I'm just ridin, ridin
Ridin the city streets in a black Benz, Lexus
I'm just ridin, ridin - I'm feelin you, you feelin me
Ain't nobody judge me (just, just, just)
[Chorus x2: Bizzy Bone]
I'm just ridin, ridin, ridin the city streets
In a black Benz, Lexus or hoopty feelin the beat
Tuckin the piece, I'm just slidin slidin
Feelin my heat, I'm feelin you, you feelin me
[Bizzy Bone:]
We're nothin but crumbs, crumbs, we're nothin but crumbs
We're nothin but crumbs, crumbs, we're nothin but crumbs
See it's the thug, thuggish ruggish, give me some bud
I'm out on the way to go get me some love
Stuck in the part where I put up the cup, don't
What about the slopes, tryin to get dangerous
We're nothin but crumbs, they gave me the tomb
And heavenly Father all over your son
The people are part of ya, never be found
But what was it for, tellin my people
To point to the guns and put up the funds
Finally see who really be ridin, look at the war and here we come
I'm the beginning and the ending, what are we spending, watch your paper
Gospel gangstas walkin in churches
Don't search us, they tyrin to escape the
Monotony and the monopoly, gotta get ready to put us in jail
Rot there, get in the car, "Days of our Lives" oh well
I'm from the best, the sick of the best
The sicker the test, won't settle for less
So Bizzy the Kid, king of Midwest
Let me get this that we feelin depressed
How many times we gather our rest
So why do they cuss, my lips are cleft
Lord knows I'm not ugly – Heavenly Father you are the best
And how many times we gather our rest
So why do they cuss, my lips are cleft
The Lord knows I'm not ugly, Heavenly Father you are the best
One time
I'm feelin you, you feelin me
Ain't nobody judge me (just, I'm just)
[Chorus]
[Layzie Bone:]
I'm a rise to the fullest, make 'em do it, make 'em pull it
Fill your torsos up with bullets, nigga this the true shit
And it sits with a new kid; who goes there, I
We used to slam them do's, now we raise 'em up high
Lamborghini do's to the sky, my nigga
I be flossin on 'em dawg, I ain't shy my nigga
No wonder why nigga, I'm a hard workin horse
Keep my Grammy on a mantle, fuck puttin it in The Source
If rap was a bitch I'll want a divorce
And if rap was a study you would need you a course
I'm a rap 'til my voice gone, probably 'til I lose it
But y'all can't do it, duplicate my music
Listen 'til they cruisin, haters be refusin
They bitches wanna listen to it but they gotta be true with it
Get bucked, knuckle up, act a fool with it
It's rider season, there really ain't no rules to it
Nice and smooth pimp fluid, I'm the ace
Realest rapper since 'Pac, wanna take my place?
[Chorus]
[Bizzy:] Nobody's just...
[Mr. Criminal:]
I'm just ridin, ridin, ridin the city streets
Packin the strap in the back of my black khakis that's creased
Windows down, system on blast, feelin the breeze
Smokin and chokin that reefer dawg, I'm needin my trees (haha, ha)
Windows down, system on blast, feelin the breeze
Eyes on my rearview, watch my back for the police
The homies say watch my back for enemies
Touch your back, the Hennessy stay and scratch my remedy
Catch me dippin through the streets, givin a fuck, runnin them stoplights
Swerve it to the left, and I swing it to the right
I'm a hard switchin lane, scrapin bumpers and all
All eyes on me whenever I'm rotatin white walls
And as soon as night falls, I let them hundred spokes crawl
Straight dippin through the city with my riders and dogs
It's Mr. Criminal puttin it down with the homies from Bone Thugs
And these haters get flossed on, these bitches get no love
[Chorus]
[Bizzy:] Nobody's just...
Walking and walking
Thinking on my feet
Anything can happen in the city
But you can't sit down
Building to building
Sheltering from the sky
Knowing there's somebody on the street
That could change my life
You can try on anything for free
Pick up anything you need
And I'm wishing you were here with me
Walking on a city street
Window to window
Filling in the hours
Catching my reflection
In a place I've never been before
Crossing the bridges
Leap the river wide
Knowing not in time
I'll arrive on the other side
You can try on anything for free
Pick up anything you need
And I'm wishing you were here with me
I have been there
I still think of that accident
That dusky street
Looked at me and said be careful
I won’t forget
This place which has no name
Because it’d be
Inside my mind forever
I don’t be afraid
Of that night
Said to myself
Out on the street tonight
There's a million lonely people
And nobody knows why they just can't find a friend
Or maybe a lover or just someone to talk to
Everybody's running hey now, something's got to give
In my life
I've never seen so many
People work so hard to be loved
The pressure's on
Who can beat the champion
Who can beat the system
Who can play their fucking game
While the unfortunate one
Cries out on the street tonight
Kicking at the trash cans hey now
Cussing at the rain
In my life
I've never seen so many
People work so hard to survive
I don't understand
Where my balance was sure
I could reach out my hand
And bring you so much more
More than this half-hearted faith
More than a witness tonight
Maybe next time around
I'll get it right
A purple sky
A yellow field
A deep green ocean
A pretty red rose makes it's way
For what it's worth
And down on the street tonight
I got your picture in my pocket
As I listen to the rumbling of us
Living here on earth
In my life
I've never seen so many
People work so hard
To believe
To survive
To be loved
To stay alive
