Banks or The Banks may refer to:
Uncle Tom is the title character of Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin.
The phrase "Uncle Tom" has also become an epithet for a person who is slavish and excessively subservient to perceived authority figures, particularly a black person who behaves in a subservient manner to white people; or any person perceived to be a participant in the oppression of their own group.
At the time of the novel's initial publication in 1851 Uncle Tom was a rejection of the existing stereotypes of minstrel shows; Stowe's melodramatic story humanized the suffering of slavery for White audiences by portraying Tom as a Christlike figure who is ultimately martyred, beaten to death by a cruel master because Tom refuses to betray the whereabouts of two women who escape from slavery. Stowe reversed the gender conventions of slave narratives by juxtaposing Uncle Tom's passivity against the daring of three African American women who escape from slavery.
The novel was both influential and commercially successful, published as a serial from 1851-1852 and as a book from 1852 onward. An estimated 500,000 copies had sold worldwide by 1853, including unauthorized reprints. Senator Charles Sumner credited Uncle Tom's Cabin for the election of Abraham Lincoln and Lincoln himself reportedly quipped that Stowe had triggered the American Civil War.Frederick Douglass praised the novel as "a flash to light a million camp fires in front of the embattled hosts of slavery". Despite Douglass's enthusiasm, an anonymous 1852 reviewer for William Lloyd Garrison's publication The Liberator suspected a racial double standard in the idealization of Uncle Tom:
Azealia Amanda Banks (born May 31, 1991) is an American rapper, singer and lyricist from Harlem, New York signed to Interscope/Polydor, and formerly known under the pseudonym Miss Bank$. Banks rose in notability in 2011 when she topped NME's "Cool List" for the year. On December 5, 2011, the BBC announced that Banks had been nominated for the Sound of 2012, where she ultimately finished third. Her debut single, "212" featuring Lazy Jay, was released on December 6, 2011, charting in some European countries.
Banks was born in 1991. Her mother raised her and two older sisters in Harlem, after their father died when she was two years old. At a young age she became interested in musical theater, acting, and singing. Aged ten, she began performing in off-Broadway musicals with the Tada! Youth Theater in Lower Manhattan. She had lead roles in three productions (Rabbit Sense, Sleepover, and Heroes) in addition to performing as a soloist. Banks was trained in the performing arts at the LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan. At the age of sixteen, Banks starred in a production of the comedy-noir musical City of Angels. She never finished high school, instead choosing to follow her dream of becoming a recording artist.

Plot
On August 23, 1992, a black-ops research program led by General Roberts perfected a device to control the weather. It was launched from a specially outfitted plane and tested for the first time. But control of the machine was lost, and within hours a deadly hurricane had formed. It became the greatest natural disaster since the San Francisco Earthquake - Hurricane Andrew. In the wake of this catastrophe, all evidence of the program was buried. Seven years later, General Roberts has revived the top-secret project. He recruits ambitious meteorologist Ron Young, who has developed software that directs weather systems. The STORM device, now equipped with this software, has been launched into a weather front 300 miles off the California coast. Moments after the device has whipped the storm into a full-blown hurricane, Roberts orders it targeted at Mexico. The storm has grown in power to a super-hurricane, with wind speeds exceeding 400 miles per hour. A struggle on board the plane ensues, causing the deadly hurricane to head straight for Los Angeles. Young, who goes up in another C-123, has less than 3 hours to fly directly into the eye of this super hurricane and regain control of the STORM device. However, there are saboteurs on board. A battle at 20,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean is taking place while the city of Los Angeles awaits the coming siege.

Plot
This is the hard and shocking story of life in a British Borstal for young offenders. Luckily the regime has changed since this film was made. The brutal regime made no attempt to reform or improve the inmates and actively encouraged a power struggle between the 'tough' new inmate and the 'old hands'. The film was originally made as a BBC play but it was banned before ever being shown. So 'Alan Clarke' and 'Roy Minton' got it re-made as a film. This is a tough and brutal film and should not be viewed lightly.

Meakin: Up your fucking borstal!

Everyone knows I'm right about one thing
You and I don't work out
You bring out the mean in me
I bring out your insecurities
You know what I am talking bout
Eventually you'll be fine if we break up
And one day I'll be fine too
But we should just end it now
Before someone gets more hurt than they have to.
As for our house, I'll move out
You can keep the dog we trained
Things soon will be like before I ever met you
Before I ever met you
Before I ever met you
I never knew that my heart could love so hard
Before I ever met you
I never knew I would be enemies with disregard
Before I ever met you
I never knew that I liked to be kissed for days
Before I ever met you
I never knew I could be broken in so many ways
I never knew I could be broken in so many ways
I never knew I could be broken in so many
Everyone knows I'm right about one thing
You are my only vice
And I got you addicted to trying to be bulletproof
But you have too much to lose
As for our house, I'll move out
You can keep the dog we trained
Things soon will be like before I ever met you
Before I ever met you
Before I ever met you
I never knew that my heart could love so hard
Before I ever met you
I never knew I would be enemies with disregard
Before I ever met you
I never knew that I liked to be kissed for days
Before I ever met you
I never knew I could be broken in so many ways
I never knew I could be broken in so many ways
I never knew I could be broken in so many
Everyone knows I'm right about one thing...
[Verse 1]
What if I said I'd break your heart?
What if I said I have problems that made me, me?
What if I knew I would just rip your mind apart
Would you let me out?
Maybe you can stop before you start
Maybe you can see that I just may be too crazy to love
If I told you solitude fits me like a glove
Would you let me out?
[Chorus]
You ought to know where I'm coming from
How I was alone when I burned my home
And all of the pieces were torn and thrown
You should know where I'm coming from
[Verse 2]
What if I said I was just too young?
What if I said I was built on bricks of carelessness and crumbs
What if I said I'd be gone before I could come
Would you let me out?
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Your sought out ways
My own, my own
But you turn me away from my low blows
Boy, you should've known
[Chorus](2x)
Yeaaaa.uhhh
I like the way that sounds
uh uh N-N-N-N-N-N-Nooowww

[Verse 1]
I can love you desperately, though your love ain't guaranteed
Oh, I wish you knew the deal, gotta learn from far away
And I simply needed space, space for me to be
And I think you need it too
Though I know you call me selfish for assuming
I did this for you too, you still got me around your finger
Even though I'm far away
Please believe me when I say
[Chorus]
Everything I do, I'm gonna think of you
Don't know what else to do
You got me, you got me, baby
Everything I make, I only make for you
Baby, be patient for me
And please don't fall in love with someone new
I promise one day I'll come back for you
[Verse 2]
Oh, you say you hate me now, and you burn me with your words
Calling me a fool, saying that I've effed up everything
And you'll never forgive me, though I'm doing this for you
Baby, can't you see if there is such a thing
Of loving someone so much that you need
To give them time to let them breathe
But you don't understand, I wish you understood
Oh, I hope one day you do
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Believe in you, believe in me, we're meant to be together
I told you, weren't lyin', I know you aren't relying
And now I am supplying you the time and space
To let you grow into the person that I know, that I know you can be
And I can be one too
And I'll come back to you
And I am ready for you, baby, I am ready for you now
I'm not ready for you now, please don't hate me
[Chorus]
[Outro]
I promise one day I'll come back to you
I promise one day I'll come back to you
I promise baby, one day I'll come back to you
I promise baby, one day I'll come back to you
Over my shoulder there’s a heart that suffers deep
The sudden exposure makes my mind recall the scene
Over my shoulder there’s a lonely heart that beats
So you only know me like the shoreline knows the sea
Erase the stone just like beginnings
We make our home above the stars, again
Behold!
Over my shoulder there’s a man that doesn’t speak
No expectations, they will only make you weak
So you only know me like the shoreline knows the sea
Over my shoulder there are phantoms, indiscreet
We chase the tombs as the sight begins
We gain these open silent showers in
So behold the science, your ever feelings to play
The science, there’s a life outside
Where our lucky passions reign
You only hold me
(You only hold me)
You only hold me like the canyon holds the stream
You only hold me
You only hold me like the canyon holds the stream
You only hold me
You only hold me like the canyon holds the stream
Relax, we’re safe and that’s all that matters
Be still under life outside, when all our passions rage
Rage
