The Green Bay Packers are an American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They are members of the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Green Bay is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, having been organized and playing in 1919. The Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States.
The Packers are the last vestige of "small town teams" that were once common in the NFL during the 1920s and 1930s. Founded in 1919 by Earl "Curly" Lambeau (hence the name Lambeau Field on which the team plays) and George Whitney Calhoun, the Green Bay Packers can trace their lineage to other semi-professional teams in Green Bay dating back to 1896. In 1919 and 1920 the Packers competed as a semi-professional football team against clubs from around Wisconsin and the Midwest. They joined the American Professional Football Association (APFA) in 1921, the forerunner to what is known today as the National Football League (NFL). Although Green Bay is the last NFL "small town" team, its local fan base and media extends into nearby Milwaukee; the team also played selected home games there between 1933 and 1994.
Green Bay may refer to:
Desmond Demond "Dez" Bryant (born November 4, 1988) is an American football wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oklahoma State.
Bryant was born in Lufkin, Texas. He attended Lufkin High School. As a senior he was a member of the Texas Football Super Team first-team and was an All-state selection after recording 53 receptions for 1,207 yards with 21 touchdowns.
Regarded as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, Bryant was listed as the No. 9 wide receiver prospect in the class of 2007.
Bryant chose to play college football at Oklahoma State over LSU, Nebraska, and Arkansas.
As a freshman in 2007 he finished second on the team with 43 receptions for 622 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. In a game against Kansas he set an OSU record for receiving yards in a game by a freshman with 155. Bryant had a great performance in the 2007 Insight Bowl, recording nine receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-33 win against the Indiana Hoosiers.
Eddie Lacy is a college football player currently playing as the No. 2 running back for the 2011 Alabama Crimson Tide football team. During the 2011 regular season, his average of 7.5 yards per carry ranked first in the Southeastern Conference and sixth in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.
Lacy attended and graduated from Dutchtown High School in Geismar, Louisiana. Lacy ran for 1,207 yards and 19 touchdowns as a sophomore, 1,800 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior, and 1,046 yards and 17 touchdowns during his injury-plagued senior season. In December 2008, he was selected by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association as a first-team player on the Class 5A All-State football team for the second consecutive season. Rated as the 13th best running back and the 116th best prospect overall by Rivals.com, Lacy committed to the University of Alabama in February 2009.
After redshirting in 2009, Lacy earned his spot as the third string tailback behind Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. In the season opener against San Jose State, Lacy ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns in his collegiate debut. In the 2011 Capital One Bowl against Michigan State, Lacy averaged 17.2 yards per carry and scored two touchdowns, including a 62-yard touchdown run in the second half. For the 2010 season, Lacy had 406 yards rushing.
Julius Frazier Peppers (born January 18, 1980) is an American football defensive end for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed The Freak Of Nature he played college football for the University of North Carolina, and earned All-American honors. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers second overall in the 2002 NFL Draft, and has played professionally for the Panthers and Chicago Bears.
The youngest of three siblings, Peppers was born in Wilson, North Carolina, and raised in nearby Bailey. By the time he was a freshman at Bailey's Southern Nash Senior High School, Peppers had grown to 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m), 225 lb (102 kg). Ray Davis, the football coach at Southern Nash, felt that Peppers would be an asset on the gridiron for the Firebirds, despite the fact that Peppers had never played football before. Davis' gamble would pay off. During his high school career, Peppers played running back and defensive lineman, finished his career with 3,501 rushing yards and 46 touchdowns, and was one of the most dangerous defensive linemen in the state. He also lettered in basketball and was voted All-Conference as a power forward for four consecutive years. In 1998, Southern Nash won the state championship in track for the first time in the school's history. Peppers contributed as a sprinter, winning the state championship in the 4×200 meter team relay and as a triple jumper. During his senior year (1997–98), he was named to the Parade magazine high school All-America team in football as an all-purpose talent and was also named Male Athlete of the Year by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. In 2005, Peppers was named by the Rocky Mount Telegram newspaper as one of the 50 Greatest Athletes from the Twin County (Nash and Edgecombe) area.

Let's go, Lambeau! (x5)
For the Green Bay boys!

It’s one for the Tundra
Pack, pack, pack 'em up
One for the Tundra
Touchdowns, rack 'em up
One for the Tundra

We got the fever; I’m a believer
Can’t help but feel it, baby, down in Lambeau
It’s time to party; yeah are you with me
Let’s get it started with this Packers song
Bang on the drum; let’s all sing along
It’s time to celebrate; it’s time to carry on

Turn up the music; it’s time to lose it
This tailgate party’s raging out of control

Somebody's gotta get crazy; somebody's gotta go nuts
Someone's gotta show some Packer pride, and it might as well be us
Somebody's gotta go the extra mile; someone's gotta have guts
Somebody's gotta get a little bit wild, and it might as well be us
Verse 1
Welcome to the G-Force; we're all a certain kind
We're not afraid to lose control or maybe lose our mind
We can all make a difference, raise the flag and play some ball
We just want it more than the other teams do when we're ready for a brawl
Bridge
We're the G-Force; yeah, we use our outside voice
We're the G-Force; it's a duty not a choice
Chorus
Verse 2
Someday when you’re ready, if you think you’ve got the guts
It’s time to be a real fan and be like one of us
Put on your team colors, and we’ll show you how it’s done
The first thing to do is raise your voice and shout until it’s gone
Bridge
Chorus
Yeah, the G-Force has the guts
Verse 1
Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades
There ain’t no second place; in Lambeau, it’s a whole new game
You either go big, go hard, or go on back home
You gotta feel it in your gut; you better want it in your bones
Chorus
‘Cause you’re runnin’ with the big dogs now
The bright lights are shinin’; hear the roar of the crowd
This is what the sweat and pain was all about
So get up, ‘cause your runnin’ with the big dogs now
Verse 2
You sacrificed it all for a dream no one else could see
And they said you'd never make it; well, I guess now they believe
Leave your mark, lay em' flat, leave it all on the fieldThis ain’t a game anymore; this is the real deal
Chorus
Bridge
This is your time, you're in the eye of the storm
This is where dreams die, and this is where legends are born

Our work is done; the time has come
No need to hesitate
Stand up and cheer; let’s make things clear
Can’t beat a tailgate
Here’s our chance to show our pride
(We are proud to be loud)
Lift up your hands and sing
Shout it out!
Chorus
You can’t ask for more than that
‘Cause this is where the party’s at
So come on down let’s get it right
Would you take a look at that?

It’s right here; it’s right now
Lambeau’s where the party’s at

G Force (x3)
Green Bay!
Chorus
This sacred patch of ground, one hundred yards of earth
Three hundred feet to test our hearts and prove our worth
And every ounce of pride we've ever held inside
Will give us strength when we are face down in the dirt
So let the snow fall down; let it freeze this battleground
Feel the chill, share the thrill; we're the clay that shapes this town
Chorus
So bring on the heroes; bring on the fight
Turn up the action; shine down the lights
Bring on the heroes; let's keep this dream alive
Bring on the heroes; these are the heroes of our lives
It’s Packer pride!
Verse 2
We can bridge the great divide, carry on the flame
With a heart so bold, green and gold runs through our veins
When the clock is running down, we make every second count
We pull as one with the force to move these chains
Where no one stands alone, a single wall of stone
We’ll take the heat, turn defeat into a victory of its own
Chorus
Bridge
Never going down, never going under
Red zone coming, no time to wonder
Crowd is building up to a roaring thunder
It’s a battle of wills on the frozen tundra
You got the brats? (Yeah!)
You got the beer? (Yeah!)
You got the tunes? (Yeah!)
I'll bring the barbecue gear
Wearing gold? (Yeah!)
You wearing green? (Yeah!)
