A shogun (将軍, shōgun?) listen (help·info) (literally, "a commander of a force") was one of the (usually) hereditary military dictators of Japan from 1192 to 1867. In this period, the shoguns, or their shikken regents (1203–1333), were the de facto rulers of Japan though they were nominally appointed by the emperor. When Portuguese explorers first came into contact with the Japanese (see Nanban period), they described Japanese conditions in analogy, likening the emperor, with great symbolic authority but little political power, to the Pope, and the shogun to secular European rulers, e.g. the Holy Roman Emperor. In keeping with the analogy, they even used the term "emperor" in reference to the shogun/regent, e.g. in the case of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, whom missionaries called "Emperor Taicosama" (from Taiko and the honorific sama)
The modern rank of shogun is equivalent to a generalissimo. Although the original meaning of "shogun" is simply "a general", as a title, it is used as the short form of seii taishōgun (征夷大将軍), the governing individual at various times in the history of Japan, ending when Tokugawa Yoshinobu relinquished the office to the Meiji Emperor in 1867.
George Richard Chamberlain (born March 31, 1934) is an American stage and screen actor and singer, who became a teen idol in the title role of the television show Dr. Kildare (1961–1966).
Since then, he has appeared in several mini-series such as Shōgun (1980) and The Thorn Birds (1983), many successful films, and performed classical stage roles and worked in the musical theatre.
Chamberlain was born in 1934 in Beverly Hills, California, the son of Elsa Winnifred (née Matthews) and Charles Axiom Chamberlain, who was a salesman. Chamberlain's father was well known within Alcoholics Anonymous, having traveled for years speaking at A.A. conventions. In 1952, Richard Chamberlain graduated from Beverly Hills High School and later attended Pomona College (class of 1956).
Chamberlain co-founded a Los Angeles-based theatre group, Company of Angels, and began appearing in TV series in the 1950s. In 1961 he gained widespread fame as the young intern, Dr. Kildare, in the MGM television series of the same name. His singing ability also led to some hit singles in the early 1960s. One of them was the "Theme from Dr. Kildare" entitled "Three Stars Will Shine Tonight", which hit number 10 according to the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. Dr. Kildare ended in 1966, after which Chamberlain began performing on the theatre circuit. In 1966, he was cast opposite Mary Tyler Moore in the ill-fated Broadway musical Breakfast at Tiffany's, co-starring Priscilla Lopez, which, after an out-of-town tryout period, closed after only four previews. Decades later he returned to Broadway in revivals of My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music.[citation needed]
Plot
Fantastic Man is about Fredo (Vic Sotto), a naive and gawky laboratory assistant to Professor Manalo (Michael V.). Fredo is also the professor's regular guniea pig for his experiments which are often disastrous to any human being. Then one time a librarian, Helen (Ara Mina)who is frustrated super hero wanabe, tells both Fredo and Prof. Manalo about an article she read of an orb located in Intramuros that was said to give out powers to whoever posesses it. They all journeyed to Intramuros in search for the orb and found inside a dead alien's body. Because of Fredo's clumsiness, the orb got lost. But it actually went into Fredo's shirt pocket. He then absorbs all the powers when he accidentally touched the orb and he became Fantastic Man! With superpowers, transformations and quickness can Fantastic Man save his town in the hands of his arch-enemy Diabolica (Ara Mina) whose powers can absorb almost anything?

Look how they glare! Look how they aim their sorcerer's weapons directly at us. Oh look! Their leader, Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry! Surely he is the king of the demons, come to strike us blind and devour our children! In this desperate hour, who will save Japan?
Shogun's Mother: It's the day of the rat, my lord. There are four days remaining, and I see you're entertaining, but we should have a chat, my lord. To begin, if I may, my lord; I've no wish to remind you, but you'll notice just behind you there are ships in the bay, they've been sitting there all day with a letter to convey and they haven't gone away, and there's every indication that they're planning to stay my lord. Have some tea my Lord, some chrysanthemum tea, it's an herb that's superb for disturbances at sea. Is the shogun feeling better? Good, now what about this letter? Is it wise to delay my lord? With the days disappearing might we benefit from hearing what the soothsayers say, my lord?

To begin, let me say, at the risk of repetition, there are ships in the bay, and they didn't ask permission but they sit there all day in contemptuous array, with a letter to convey, and they haven't gone away, and there's every indication that they still plan to stay, and you look a little gray, my lord... Have some tea, my lord, some chrysanthemum tea, while we plan if we can what our answer ought to be. If the tea the shogun drank will serve to keep the shogun tranquil I suggest, if I may, my lord, we consult the confucians, they have mystical solutions, there are none wise as they my lord.
Shogun's Mother: It's the day of the tiger, my lord. Only two days remaining, and I'm tired of explaining, there are ships in the bay, with a letter to convey, they're on permanent display, and we must take some position, or the southern coalition will be soon holding sway my lord, and we'll all have to pay, my lord. Have some tea, my lord, some chrysanthemum tea, it's a tangled situation as your father would agree. And it mightn't be so tangled if you hadn't had him strangled, but I fear that I stray my lord. Plot
The final film, and the final confrontation between Ogami and Retsudo. With most of his family already dead at Ogami's hands, Retsudo launches one last plot to destroy him, and when that fails, unleashes the fury of every remaining member of the Yagyu Clan.
