An alter ego (Latin, "the other I") is a second self, which is believed to be distinct from a person's normal or original personality. The term was coined in the early nineteenth century when dissociative identity disorder was first described by psychologists. A person who has an alter ego is said to lead a double life.
A distinct meaning of alter ego can be found in literary analysis, wherein it describes characters in different works who are psychologically similar, or a fictional character whose behavior, speech or thoughts intentionally represent those of the author. Similarly, the term alter ego may be applied to the role or persona taken on by an actor or by other types of performers.
The existence of "another self" was first recognized in the 1730s. Anton Mesmer used hypnosis to separate the alter ego. These experiments showed a behavior pattern that was distinct from the personality of the individual when he was in the waking state compared to when he was under hypnosis. Another character had developed in the altered state of consciousness but in the same body.
Jean-Louis Aubert (born 12 April 1955 in Nantua, Ain) is a French guitarist, singer and songwriter. He has also composed music for the cinema and for television, including the soundtrack for the film I've Loved You So Long, starring Kristin Scott Thomas (2007).
In 1976, he co-founded the rock band Téléphone. After their split, he recorded a single album (Platre et Ciment) with Téléphone's drummer Richard Kolinka as Aubert'n'Ko (1987), and in 1989 released his first solo album, Bleu Blanc Vert. Between his work with Téléphone and his successful solo career, Aubert is one of the most iconic singer/songwriters of his generation.
Jean Louis (born Jean Louis Berthault, October 5, 1907, Paris, France – April 20, 1997, Palm Springs, California, USA) was a French-born, Hollywood costume designer and an Academy Award winner for Costume Design. Louis worked as head designer for Columbia Pictures from 1944 to 1960. His most famous works include Rita Hayworth's black satin strapless dress from Gilda (1946), Marlene Dietrich's celebrated beaded souffle stagewear for her cabaret world tours, as well as the sheer, sparkling gown Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to John F. Kennedy in 1962.
In 1993, four years after the death of his second wife, Louis married former client Loretta Young (married until his death in 1997).
Louis François Marie Aubert (Paramé (Ille-et-Vilaine), 19 February 1877 – Paris, 9 January 1968) was a French composer.
Louis Aubert was a child prodigy. His parents, recognizing their son's musical talent, sent him to Paris to receive an education at an early age. He became recognized for his voice, primarily for his renditions of the Pie Jesu from Gabriel Fauré's Requiem at the Église de la Madeleine. The young Aubert met Fauré at the Paris Conservatoire, and he regularly attended at his composition classes, which greatly influenced his development.
Aubert became an excellent pianist. In 1911 he premiered Maurice Ravel's Valses nobles et sentimentales, which were written for and dedicated to him. He also worked as a piano and composition teacher, both privately and on the faculty of the Conservatoire de Paris. He counts among his students Henry Barraud, Jean-Marie Beaudet, Jean Berger, and Georges Savaria.
He composed music for the church, several ballets, mélodies, and incidental music for the stage. Although Breton by birth at a time of intense Breton nationalism, he was little inspired by his home region. Aubert wrote popular songs, notably for Marie Dubas. He also was a contributing journalist to the magazines Chantecler, Paris-soir, Le journal and Opéra.
Tame Impala is the psychedelic rock project of Kevin Parker from Perth, Australia. They are signed to Modular Records. The band came to prominence in 2010 with the release of their debut album, Innerspeaker. Their name refers to the impala, a medium sized antelope. They like to see themselves as "a steady flowing psychedelic groove rock band that emphasizes dream-like melody."
Tame Impala were formed from Kevin Parker's original blues/jazz/psychedelic band, the Dee Dee Dums. The Dee Dee Dums consisted of Parker (drums ) and Luke Epstein (guitar), with the band getting second place at the 2005 AmpFest and winning third place that year in the state final of The Next Big Thing. In October 2006 Epstein was replaced by drummer Sam Devenport, Epstein going on to play with Sugarpuss. The Dee Dee Dums went on to win the WA state final of the National Campus Band Competition. In late 2007 the band renamed to Tame Impala unveiling another new drummer and replacing the two-guitar attack for the more traditional guitar/bass/drums format. Devenport went on to pursue an acting career.

[Black-Ty]
Aight, I admit it, the rap game's a little shady

I can hear
A little voice inside my head
Telling Me
That I should do what she says
Looking over my shoulder
She trying to tell me things
Always misleading me
Nobody can see
I can be good she can be bad
We can be this and that
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
When I want to be weak
She can be strong
Rolled into one
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
I can tell
When she's about to pull me in
She has no fear
But then she doesn't always win
Looking into the mirror
She tryin' to have fun with me
Sometimes I take myself way to seriously
I can be good she can be bad
We can be this and that
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
When I want to be weak
She can be strong
Rolled into one
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
It's like she sometimes my best friend
Then my enemy again
she is no-where but she's always there
Yeah
Oh yeah
Oh oh oh ooh
Yeah
I can hear a little voice inside my head
Telling me I should have done what she said
Yeah
I can be good
She can Bad
We can be this and that
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
When I'm little miss perfect
She misbehaving
I take the blame
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
I can be good she can be bad
We can be this and that
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
When I want to be weak
She can be strong
Rolled into one
She's my Alter Ego-oh-oh
I Can Be good
She can be bad
We can be this and that
Oh Oh

Happy the show

such a man or boy
Neer is the roy
In the dark
A face appears
Who plays upon my darkest fears
There is pain
In my heart
Evil tears
My brain apart
A desperate quest
For destiny
Black horizon's
All I see
Save me
Release me
Thrill me
Alter ego
Lonely winters
Painful spring
Time collapses
Endless sin
There is hope
In my heart
But Evil tears
My brain apart
Condemned to fail
Prepared to die
Redemption's just
Another lie
These bleeding wounds
This dreadful scar
Paradise seems so far
Chorus
Said the voice from afar:
Don't you know it doesn't
have to be so hard? Waiting for
everyone else around to agree,
might take too long
When it won't be so hard,
(it won't be so hard)
Well it's true, yes, but you
won't get far telling me
that you are all you're meant
to be, when the one from my
dream is sitting right next
to me and I don't know
what to do
Oh alter ego.
Get them to love you,
while they may depending
on your words and wealth,
the only one who's really
judging you is yourself.
Nobody else.
If I could part,
it wouldn't be so hard.
Well it's true yes, but you
won't get far telling me that
you are all you're meant to
be when the one from my
dream is sitting right next
to me and I don't know
what to do.
Free yourself and live through the motion
Dance if you cannot dance
Be yourself and live for the moment
Dance if you cannot dance
The time has come for you
To move that body
The time has come to know
The time has come for you to take that chance
The dance if you cannot dance
Dance if you cannot
Dance if you cannot
Dance if you cannot dance
Let the beat be yours
And dance if you cannot with a...
The time I get for you to make that promise
Never unless I'm gonna get back on it
Ooh yeah, I'm gonna do it again
Tell everybody I like ya, I'll be your best friend
Whatever you do you gotta take that chance
And dance if you cannot dance
Be yourself and live for the moment
Dance if you cannot dance
Free yourself and live through the motion
Dance if you cannot dance
The time has come for you
To move that body
The time has come to know
The time has come for you to take that chance
The dance if you cannot dance
Is this where I belong?
Why don't I feel at ease in my mind?
Am I dreaming now? Or am I just a dream?
Am I captured in the depths of your head?
[Refrain:]
Infinite ways to choose – your ALTER EGO
Views of myself, so hard to number
Forge your own truth – dream within your ALTER EGO
There's more than you ...
Can I trust in what I see?
Everything seems unreal around me
Will I find myself somewhere?
Under a different sky?
There are more worlds than you can see
[Refrain:]
Infinite ways to choose – your ALTER EGO
Views of myself, so hard to number
Forge your own truth – dream within your ALTER EGO
There's more than you believe
[Solo]
[Refrain:]
Infinite ways to choose – your ALTER EGO
Views of myself, so hard to number
Forge your own truth – dream within your ALTER EGO
There's more than you believe
Infinite ways to choose – your ALTER EGO
Views of myself, so hard to number
Forge your own truth – dream within your ALTER EGO
There's more than you believe
Sä halusit pomppia
Mut sun vieterit on kii
Pitää sut kiinni huoneessa
Tämä kaatuu päälle
Mutta minä toivon niin, et sä et muuttuis koskaan
Sun vieterit on kii, älä muutu koskaan
Sä halusit pomppia
Mut sun vieterit on kii
On kii ja ruostessa
Eikä päästä irti
Mutta minä toivon niin, et sä et muuttuis koskaan
Sun vieterit on kii, älä muutu koskaan
Kaikki kuitenkin vaalii tarkoitustaan,
Sekin et sun vieterit on kii, etkä sä muutu koskaan
Sä halusit pomppia, mut sun vieterit on kii
Kun ne pitää sut otteessa, niin mietitkö sinä koskaan
Miksi minä toivon niin, että sä et muuttuis koskaan
Sun vieterit on kii, älä muutu koskaan
Kaikki kuitenkin vaalii tarkoitustaan
Sekin et sun vieterit on kii
Etkä sä muutu koskaan
Something loose just can't restrain it...
The mirror no longer could contain it
I cast an image... on window pane
A looking glass inside my brain
Hey I'm randy what's your pleasure?
Let the rhythm be your measure
Free the ego... there now you go
Let out the shadow from incognito
Tonight let loose your inner ego
Paint the place psychedelic mojo
That space inside my mind, I find
Alter ego... altered mind
Alter ego... altered mind
Dancin' Livin' blow my mind
What a find this thing I'm livin
Inside my mind the livin's givin’
Self medication across the nation
Take the dose in feel sensation
Tune out drop by catch a Now phrase
Get happy livin' go shoutin' praise
C'mon let loose your inner ego
Don’t live your life like in a fishbowl
The world's a mirror this I see
Thine own eye lookin' back at me
Alter ego... altered mind
Dancin' Livin' blow my mind
What a find this thing I'm livin
Inside my mind the livin's givin’
Alter ego... altered mind
Dancin' Livin' blow my mind
What a find this thing I'm livin
Inside my mind the livin's givin’
