Margot Adler (born April 16, 1946) is an author, journalist, lecturer, Wiccan priestess and radio journalist and correspondent for National Public Radio (NPR).
Adler first worked for WBAI, FM 99.5, the Pacifica Radio outlet in New York City. She created the talk shows Hour of the Wolf in 1972 (still on the air as hosted by Jim Freund) and later Unstuck in Time.
Adler joined NPR in 1979 as a general assignment reporter, after spending a year as an NPR freelance reporter covering New York City, and has since worked on a great many pieces dealing with subjects as diverse as the death penalty, the right to die movement, the response to the war in Kosovo, computer gaming, the drug ecstasy, geek culture, children and technology, and Pokémon. Since 9/11, she has focused much of her work on stories exploring the human factors in New York City, from the loss of loved ones, homes and jobs, to work in the relief effort. She was the host of Justice Talking up until the show ceased production on July 3, 2008. She is a regular voice on Morning Edition and All Things Considered. She is also co-producer of an award-winning radio drama, War Day.

Music: Loreena McKennit, "Tango To Evora"
Images: Tatianna
Important information: "Tango to Evora" was used in the National Film Board of Canada documentary "The Burning Times", a 1990 Canadian documentary, presenting an account of the Early Modern European witchcraft trials It was directed by Donna Read and written by Erna Buffie, and features interviews with Neopagan notables, such as Starhawk, Margot Adler, and Matthew Fox.
In the film, Thea Jensen calls this period in history a "Women's Holocaust". She notes that a total number of victims is unknown but that the high number often given is nine million deaths, over a period of 300 or more years.Otherwise, scholarly "high" estimates range around 100,000, with estimates around 60,000 more common. The nine million figure according to Catholic apologists has a notorious history of misattribution, and claims that this originates with a 1784 article by Gottfried Christian Voigt. In the vast DC Comics Universe of superheroes, the rich mythology of Superman, the planet Krypton and the House of El is perhaps the most famous and instantly recognizable. Enter Supergirl! Born Kara Zor-El on the doomed planet Krypton, the preteen Kara escaped at the same time as the infant Kal-El but didn't arrive on Earth until many years later after being lost in the Phantom Zone. Protected and raised by her adopted family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to hide the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin. Years later, at age 24, living in National City and working as an assistant for Catco Worldwide Media mogul Cat Grant, Kara has spent so many years trying to fit in that she forgot to ever stand out. All that changes when she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always destined to be. With the help of Daily Planet photographer James Olsen, her bioengineer sister Alex, and the research of the super-secret, off-the-grid Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO) and its head Hank Henshaw, who are tasked with keeping the Earth safe from aliens, Kara takes to the skies to protect her world. Her foes include both a sinister extraterrestrial menace and the high-tech terrestrial threat of clever villains with powerful weaponry. From Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Supergirl premieres Mondays at 8/7c on CBS this November.

Jerry Springer 1998 Biography - Holocaust Survivor Parents to Mayor to Anchor to Talk Show Host
December 1998. After the intro, the most detailed first segment is about how his parents Richard & Margot, fled their native Germany in 1939 to escape Hitler's invasion and lived in England for a few years, where Jerry and his older sister were born. Ultimately they settled in Kew Gardens in NYC in 1949 and it describes Jerry's childhood and teens growing up and later going off to college at Tulane University.
Segment 2 covers his going into law school and his ascent into politics (first inspired by campaigning for Bobby Kennedy), spurred by being staunchly Liberal and against the Vietnam War. This also covers the incident where he wrote a check to the prostitute as a city councilman and recovered from it, enough to be re-elected and become mayor in 1977!
Segment 3 covers the 80s, with his failed bid for Ohio governor in 1982, and how he came to work at WLWT Channel 5 as a successful commentator and soon after, news anchor. This and part two also have brief bits about his daughter Katie, born with some disabilities, but has long since overcame them.
Segment 4 covers the earlier 90s, with the talk show starting off serious in 1991, but after the unexpected first fight in 1993, slowly evolved into the show we now know and love, with a little help from producer, turned executive producer after the first guy (Burt Dubrow) stepped down in early 1994.
Segment 5 is about the then-recent controversial nature of the show in the mid and late 90s, and people who both love and hate it. Jerry and others briefly explain that it's simply a television show and nothing too important to be upset about. Has some brief interviews with a really obnoxious priest (Michael Flegger) and politicians who kept trying to ban or censor the show in its peak years.
Has interviews with Jerry's close lifelong friend Bill Ballaine, Springer neighbor and family friend Aaron Adler, his politcal campaign manager/good friend Mike Ford, another political friend Jene Galvin, his WLWT co-anchor Norma Rashid, longtime show executive producer Richard Dominick, Steve Wilkos, and others.

What is Alfred Adler?
A report all about Alfred Adler for homework/assignment.
Alfred W. Adler (; ; February 5, 1870 – May 28, 1937) was an Austrian medical doctor, psychotherapist, and founder of the school of individual psychology. His emphasis on the importance of feelings of inferiority—the inferiority complex—is recognized as isolating an element which plays a key role in personality development. Alfred Adler considered human beings as an individual whole, therefore he called his psychology "Individual Psychology" (Orgler 1976).

Margot Adler talks about her new book, Vampires Are Us: Understanding Our Love Affair with the Immortal Dark Side (Weiser Books). As Adler, a longtime NPR correspondent and question asker, sat vigil at her dying husband's bedside, she found herself newly drawn to vampire novels and their explorations of mortality. Over the next four years--by now she has read more than 270 vampire novels, from teen to adult, from gothic to modern, from detective to comic--she began to see just how each era creates the vampires it needs. She explores the issues of power, politics, morality, identity, and even the fate of the planet that show up in vampire novels today. Perhaps, as Adler suggests, our blood is oil, perhaps our prey is the planet. Perhaps vampires are us.

Ian Punnett calls in: 24:09
On Halloween night we held our first annual live Halloween special.
The lines were opened up for taking ghost stories and we received a few ghost stories from callers including former Coast to Coast AM host, Ian Punnett.
After an hour I decided to have a party line and all callers congregated on the Halloween party line. It got out of hand at times… but it was a fun night.
The night started with a memorial tribute from a listener who wanted to open the show with a Wiccan ritual to honor Dr. Evelyn Paglini and others.

These are the ghost stories shared with us on Halloween night.

What better way to celebrate Halloween than to produce a live show on Halloween night. That’s exactly what happened as the Farside aired its first annual ghost stories, call in special.
What made this particular special event unique from most other Halloween based special event talk shows was the callers themselves. These callers ranged from the average listener to former Coast to Coast AM host, Ian Punnett.
The Farside was opened as usual by the always inquisitive host, Bob Bain. After the charming introduction of the program the show was momentarily handed over to a listener who wanted to call in and pay tribute to two of the big name pagans we lost during 2014.
Evelyn Paglini and Margot Adler.
After an hour I decided to have a party line and all callers congregated on the Halloween party line. It got out of hand at times… but it was a fun night.
The night started with a memorial tribute from a listener who wanted to open the show with a Wiccan ritual to honor Dr. Evelyn Paglini and others.
