Mike Hanopol is a Filipino rock music icon and legend, revolutionary singer, veteran musician, guitarist, pop artist, folk rock star, and recording artist. He was a former bass guitarist for the Juan Dela Cruz Band. He is a pioneer of rock music in the Philippines during the 1970s, along with Pepe Smith and Wally Gonzales. In his career as a musician, Hanopol produced twenty albums, three of which became Gold prize awardees while another three received the Aliw Awards. Hanopol’s trademark is the beret, leather clothing, and his Steinberger guitar. Hanopol was the mentor and songwriter for the famous Filipino rock band known as HAGIBIS.
Hanopol was born in Leyte. The most influential person in Hanopol’s life as a musician was his maternal grandmother Nanay Inday, who during Hanopol's childhood put him to sleep by playing the guitar. Hanopol started his career as a guitarist at the age of nine during the late 1960s. At 14 years of age, Hanopol was already earning money as a musician. He became a bandleader as a seminarian. In 1967, after graduating from high school, Hanopol joined his band to play music in Vietnam, one semester away from graduating from college. Hanopol’s decision was against the wishes of his father, resulting in their being not on speaking terms for a period of nine years.
Jonathan Herbert Schaeffer (born 1957) is a Canadian researcher and professor at the University of Alberta and the Canada Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence.
He led the team that wrote Chinook, the world's strongest American checkers player, after some relatively good results in writing computer chess programs. He is involved in the University of Alberta GAMES group developing computer poker systems. Schaeffer is also the primary developer of Polaris, a program designed to play the Texas Hold'em variant of poker.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 from the University of Toronto. He received a Master of Mathematics degree in 1980 and a Ph.D. in 1986 from the University of Waterloo. Schaeffer reached national master strength in chess while in his early 20s, but has played little competitive chess since that time.
Chinook is the first computer program to win the world champion title in a competition against humans. In 1990 it won the right to play in the human World Championship by being second to Marion Tinsley in the US Nationals. At first the American Checkers Federation and English Draughts Association were against the participation of a computer in a human championship. When Tinsley resigned his title in protest, the ACF and EDA created the new title Man vs. Machine World Championship, and competition proceeded. Tinsley won with four wins to Chinook's two.
free and easy
love was never ever going to be so free
all's to share
the two of us along the evening sea
let it ray
love will be there
a summer siren addresses you and me
all's to share
we're making out to be in each other's dream
every day
let it ray
i want you to know
every day's your birthday
i want you to see
love's on either hand
i want you to know
every day's your birthday
love is our freedom
it makes us understand
free and easy
love was never ever going to be so free
all's to share
we're making out to be in each other's dream
every day
let it ray
i want you to know
every day's your birthday
i want you to see
love's on either hand
i want you to know
every day's your birthday
love is our freedom
it makes us understand
i want you to know
