Peru i/pəˈruː/ (Spanish: Perú; Quechua: Perú;Aymara: Piruw), officially the Republic of Peru (Spanish: República del Perú, pronounced: [reˈpuβlika ðel peˈɾu] ( listen)), is a country in western South America. It is bordered on the north by Ecuador and Colombia, on the east by Brazil, on the southeast by Bolivia, on the south by Chile, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.
Peruvian territory was home to ancient cultures, spanning from the Norte Chico civilization, one of the oldest in the world, to the Inca Empire, the largest state in Pre-Columbian America. The Spanish Empire conquered the region in the 16th century and established a Viceroyalty, which included most of its South American colonies. After achieving independence in 1821, Peru has undergone periods of political unrest and fiscal crisis as well as periods of stability and economic upswing.
Peru is a representative democratic republic divided into 25 regions. Its geography varies from the arid plains of the Pacific coast to the peaks of the Andes Mountains and the tropical forests of the Amazon Basin. It is a developing country with a high Human Development Index score and a poverty level around 31%. Its main economic activities include agriculture, fishing, mining, and manufacturing of products such as textiles.
Plot
Ford Coleman is a struggling actor in Hollywood who fears never achieving fame other then appearing in local TV commercials. After over a year living in L.A., Ford is broke and in danger of being evicted from his apartment. His slacker roommate Tripp, who has given up his music career out of hopelessness, convinces Tripp to become a drug dealer to buy and sell cocaine to supermodels as their extra income, which brings both Ford and Tripp into danger as they venture into the Los Angeles underworld which also puts a risk on Ford's budding romance with Gwen, a struggling actress herself unaware of Ford's secret arrangement with Tripp.

Plot
Argentina's economic crisis is in full swing when Lito and Nilda travel to New York. Visiting "The Big Apple" is Nilda's lifelong dream and Lito, her husband, submissively complies. She also plans to have a medical check up during their visit. But once in New York and despite Lito's warning, Nilda neglects her diet and has to be hospitalized. Lito is overwhelmed. On his own and penniless, he experiences a different side of New York. While his life in New York freezes, his ice factory in Buenos Aires melts. (Chicago 23rd Latino Film Festival Website)
Plot
A veteran white trader in the darkest Africa of the 1870s mentors a younger companion on the mysteries of the Dark Continent. After meeting a missionary, they go in search of Nina, her kidnapped daughter, who was abducted by natives when she was young and now reigns over the savage tribe, regarded by them as a goddess. When the two men are captured and slated for horrible death by her people, she rescues them, and the trio flees the pursuing tribesmen through savage country.
