Dirty old street all slushed up in the rain and snow
Little boy and his ma shivering outside a rundown music store window
That night on top of a Christmas tree shines one beautiful star
And lying underneath a brand-new Japanese guitar
I remember in the morning, ma, hearing your alarm clock ring
I'd lie in bed and listen to you gettin' ready for work
The sound of your makeup case on the sink
And the ladies at the office, all lipstick, perfume and rustlin' skirts
And how proud and happy you always looked walking home from work
If pa's eyes were windows into a world so deadly and true
You couldn't stop me from looking but you kept me from crawlin' through
And if it's a funny old world, mama, where a little boy's wishes come true
Well I got a few in my pocket and a special one just for you
It ain't no phone call on Sunday, flowers or a mother's day card
It ain't no house on a hill with a garden and a nice little yard
I got my hot rod down on Bond Street, I'm older but you'll know me in a glance
We'll find us a little rock 'n roll bar and baby we'll go out and dance
Well it was me in my Beatle boots, you in pink curlers and matador pants
Pullin' me up of the couch to do the twist for my uncles and aunts
Well I found a girl of my own now, ma, I popped the question on your birthday
She stood waiting on the front porch while you were telling me to get out there
And say what it was that I had to say
Last night we all sat around laughing at the things that guitar brought us
And I layed awake thinking 'bout the other things it's brought us
Well tonight I'm takin's requests here in the kitchen
This one's for you, ma, let me come right out and say it
The witch jumped on my back last night, I couldn't breathe
In it's clutch, I was frozen with fright
It went on for, what seemed like hours of terror
To see the witches face, stare in the dark at the mirror
The witch told me, my girlfriend was a demon
And all this fallin' in love shit, I'm dreamin'
And it's pain to the angels, if I don't deliver
Sealed her off in a barrel, and rolled her in a river
The witch told me, my left arm is possessed
So I broke it at first, and then I went and confessed
But they put me in a home, my arm still wouldn't leave me alone
Finally had to chew it off at the bone
The witch told me, to crawl under my house and just wait
Don't panic if I suffocate
I bit the tail off a oppossum down there at one point
It's so boring, and it's dark but the witch is my light
Something is standing between me and my sanity!
They say my witch is a dream, morbid fantasy!
I say wake the dead, wake the dead, wake em'!
WAKE THE DEAD! WAKE THE DEAD! WAKE EM'!
I say wake the dead, wake the dead, wake em'!
WAKE THE DEAD! WAKE THE DEAD! WAKE EM'!
The witch taught me, how to cut up a body
It's nasty and wretched, and hella bloody
But it's gotta get done, and somebody's gotta do it
I kick the fuckin' face in, and put my knife through it
The witch jumped on me again, here we go
Layin' in my bed, I can't breathe anymo'
Layin' in my bed, I can't move anymo'
There's a demon floating in my face, clampin' my jaw
The witch told me, I gotta murder this one kid
K, well, maybe the witch didn't then, but I did
With a ninja suit, crept through like a black widow
with the crossbow, stuck him in the neck like ditto
The witch told me, about blood that rains
Out of the neck, and what particular veins
And about murder witnessin', death settin' in
And it ain't no heaven, that's lettin' me in
The witch told me, to put my feet in the fire
And hold on, til everything below the knees gone
Now I'm in a wheelchair, with only an arm but don't care
I can still throw my hatchet in the air
The witch got me, in a predicament, it ain't good
I got somebody head posted on my hood
4:30 a.m. and we rollin' through the ghetto

Melacine is insane," they said
They burned your body
And they wished you dead
"You're a witch," they cried
They feared the silence in your cat green eyes
Melacine lived alone by the sea
She was not lonely,
She was not lonely...
She lived on herbs
And her sense for a dream
And such a beauty was Melacine
Melacine was a beauty...

You don't like him, do you? You wanna fight him
In fact, I should've put you back, relaxed on the stones
And copped ya two-thousand leather shit, snow cones
A bowl of milk almost killed you, ah, you almost drowned in pops
I brought another box, I'ma keep it real with you
And I'ma murder you if ya bitch-ass get on my nerves again
Yo, Ghost, you'se a funny nigga
Turn on the radio, all you hear is X and Jigga
Haha, you vexed, nigga?

You spray hairspray and up North, nigga, you ain't gettin' jailplay
(How you know?) Yo, it's obvious, Clan's day
Hold on, let me park my shit, let me find out this nigga barkin' and shit
I'm a Don of this shit, and you know that shit I wrote with Golden Arms is a hit
My Wallos show off, go off like an alarm in the six
Drank the yellow and I'm still poppin'
My movie life in the hood is like an ill doctrine
Beat trial with illegal edge, fuck Cochrane
And if it's on I might blow you if I'm boxed in..
Yo, yo, yo, what you doin', man?
Yo, man, chill out, man
(Don't even worry)
I'm just fuckin' with you, man

Uh, ahhh, baby, you know it like a poet, baby doll
Yeah, yeah, crooked letter in, uh uh, S.I., better

Come on! Self Service
Y'all know me since '93, now let that weed burn
Back in this bitch, class dismissed, it's the return
Of the super sperm, game over, lose a turn
Takes a germ to kill a germ, when will y'all killas learn
Your only as good as your last hit
Soon as you put them automatics on safety that's it
I calm them bastards, I call them ratchets
Till you blasted, till y'all come ashes to ashes
We make classic, huh, bring you a rougher sound
You either up or down, don't get that ass kicked
Ya'll niggaz fuck around, y'all only tough around
The crowds, scared to bust a round, don't get that ass kicked
What part of the game is this?
I came to break bread, evidently y'all killas came to bitch, nigga
So, whose the whipped nigga, don't even trip, nigga
Some say they pull trigga, I think they bullshitter
I just begun to fight, if mommy like daddy talk
Then daddy might get him some tonight
Give me, my limelight, give me, my five mics
Give me, some weed and a light to get my mind right
Is he, the illest M.C., to ever play the tough city
To find out it'll cost you bout a buck fifty
Across your face swiftly, my after taste shitty
Whose built by New Yitty, whose milked like two titties
And I ain't even got to say my name
I got this duck wit her legs up like, "say my name, trick"
You think it's all a game, like pussy all the same
I'm speakin' toilet slang, not seakin' hall of fame
It's raw, sushi, stain in your drawers, dooky
Quarter a Lucy, quarter more for a groupie
That like to pop snoopy, think she gon' pop coochie
Just cuz you got Gucci, don't mean you not hoochie
Girl, I tell it like a T-I-N
Ain't no other kids eatin' till I feed my kids
Trick, oh, you ain't crushin', sister, I can't do nothin' wit you
My money's celebate, honey, and we ain't fuckin' wit you
I do it for the nookie, some say I'm too pushy
Only thing better than pussy, that's some new pussy
There that go, looky, it's gettin' ugly even
With niggaz so broke, they couldn't spend a lovely even
Yeah, that's it

We swear, the illest star rappers of the year
So so, cheerio, yell, scream "Bravo"
Also, if you didn't know it's The Roots Show

Kill the itch
Check the air
And push to get there

No nono nono nono, no we didn't, w-w-w-word
No we didn't, (Well don't get us wrong)
Excuse but um, excuse but umm, excuse Roots crew you're on
Uh uh on....
[Verse 3]
Well it, started on-a O'Saints Avenue
When we came up with the squad that's called The Roots crew
It was me, Qwest Kemal, Hubbard and my man Malik-
B, and Rahzel from the NYC
Who used ta, scratch and sing, make sounds and things
For example, check out this telephone ring
[telephone ring]
Hello? Hello? Can I speak to Rahzel?
No, he's not in right now
Well anyway, no more delay
Just peep out the ill my man display
But'cha gotta be (fresh), Rahzel'll rock (fresh)
like D-O-U-G-I-E (fresh)
And I'm known for the.......
and not for the........
Rahzel the Godfather, the entertainer
No other title could fit me plainer
In the past generation, I am the remainder
And I'm also known as the beatbox trainer
Cashin cheques, makin sound effects
After I finish rockin, Black Thought is up next
Well here's a lil' sometin that needs to be heard
Rah, I was headin Uptown, (Word 'Riq), word
(Chillin) and all alone, no one to be with
Hopped up on the train headed for 2-5th
and saw this pretty girl (what?), so I sat beside her
Then she went [roar] like she was Tony the Tiger
I said "Oh no, there's been a mistake
Love, my name is Black Thought, not Frostie Flakes"
(Oh, golly wally) Well, she was raisin hell
She said "Aah, my name is Maggie but call me Michelle"
[something in reverse]
Check it out, Roots crew and yeah, we rock the house, y'nahI'msayin?
And when I'm on the mic, there won't be no delayin
So bust a move, we show and prove
Yo Rahzel, do that record Jam on the Groove
[Outro]
As you can see, most definitely
The Roots are....
Come up Rahzel, come up Illa Del
Come up ?UESTLOVE, and then come on up Hub
Come up Malik B, and then behind him D
Come up Dice Raw, the 5th Dynasty
and Black Thought sendin out a shout to the Get Fresh Crew
and Doug E.

Yeah, the witch is coming to you
And the witch is coming for you, yeah
Comin' as a wizard, maybe
Dressed in black, a flame from Hell
You feel her presence all too well
She´ll take you for a magic ride
To Hell and back with legs astride
She´ll take all that she needs
Leave your mind and soul to bleed
Dressed in black, a flame from Hell
The witch has casted her spell
Domination, lust will reign
Her lions are aflame
The nectar mixed with sweat
Dripping from her eager cleft
Shall act as pollen rain
To your slumbering brain
Dressed in black, a flame from Hell
The witch has casted her spell
As the wheels turn city to city, hundreds fold, chronic smoke
Twist up another philly (dun dilly)
Them niggas still trippin off that old shit (really?) how silly
It's a whole 'nother day (yeah yeah) Snoop Dogg (and Doc motherfuckin Dre)
Nigga can ya feel this?
It's the D-O-double, you don't run up, you won't see no trouble
If you caught up in these fuckin streets
Who you gon' call when them niggas gettin ready to blast?
Yeah, and if that shit's gettin ugly
Who you gon' call when them niggas come to gettin ya ass?
(I came to get that ass!)
Big dittog, push the big hittog
Ya hoppin and poppin, how bout you hop up off my bittalls
Got(GOT) dirt on my pittaws

It(IT) really don't matter cause I'm only here to spit on
And get on, shit on niggas
Do it to 'em D-O-double right on nigga
I'm saggin it, baggin it, slang them Dubs
You motherfuckers think The Wash is all soap and suds, whassup cuz?
If you tryin to get a dub sack, page me
The ho's say "D-Loc, you so crazy"
Poppin that shit don't phase me
I need my chips and the dip it's like gravy
Now back to the lecture at hand
Perfection is expected and I'm feelin that demand
Los Ang, broad day gunnin
That ain't no earthquake it's just Dre comin
If this shit ain't played, the party ain't bumpin
If I don't show up, the ho's ain't fuckin
Cali sunshine, come visit
Just don't stop at stop signs with bullet holes in it
All Star league, you writin Benjamins
I handles my business, FUCK fake niggas
I sell game a quarter million a track
Snoop and the good Doc back with a brand new sack
Shit's wrong, money gone, I blast
Out of town, out of bounds, no pass
Runnin up, talkin shit, get smashed
Shoot first, ask questions last
Fallin back on that ass, hit the switch and let the ass just drag(zzzt zzt)
2001, 2002 Taz
My nigga what you holdin?
Step out with the Stacy's and the Snoop Dogg clothing
Rollin, with the braids in my hair
Crimped out, way pimped out, OH YEAH
You gots to pay the cost to beat the boss
After all that dirt I gots to get my shit washed
The Wash
(ahhhh)
The Wash
(ahh, ahh)
The Wash
I'm a long long way from yesterday
And with time my ideals change
I want to spend all of my time
The way that it should be spent
Road maps here of 20 towns
Flights a faithless place
I eat another Milk Bar down
Yawn and wash my face
You know you're nervous when you see me sway
Too much time by yourself
You know you always seem to back away
Don't hide within yourself
There's a certain hill I want to climb
Like tar bubbles on the path
When they all pop up in summertime
Forever my climb will last
Road maps here of 20 towns
Flights a faithless place
I eat another Milk Bar down
Yawn and wash my face
You know you're nervous when you see me sway
Too much time by yourself
You know you always seem to back away
Don't hide within yourself
Hush hush shhh
Hush hush shhh
Hush hush shhh
Hush hush shhh
You know you're nervous when you see me sway
Too much time by yourself
You know you always seem to back away
Take me back
Hold it
No no no rewind, yeah right there
Oh fuck it
(Chor)
Welcome to the show
I'll explain if your don't know
I'm your host
Your the guest
The game is the world
Excuse the mess
Question, who's responsible?
Answer, it's us
Question, What can we do
It's to late so stop the fuss.
All we do is look after number one
Until it happens nothing gets done
If we'd taken the time to take the time
We'd be in better shape
But whats the point
all we do is steal, kill and rape
Yeah right
Thats got us far
Like a car without the wheels
No one seems to care
What the other person feels
Shout until your blue in the face
Scream from the loudest mic
It makes no difference
So we're all on the show tonight.
(Chor)

Answer, it's us
Question, What can we do
It's to late so stop the fuss.
Break it down
Change the mood up in here
I'm still waiting for the day
When rush hour will be clear
Look around you
Open your eyes
Take a big breath of that air
If you knew what you were breathing
Yeah i think i you'd care
But we you don't
And that's my point
We just carry
No one's prepared to fight
So it makes no difference
We're all on the show tonight.

Heavenly father up above
Have mercy on me
After 7 years of bad bad love
I finally got free
I don’t mean to seem ungrateful
You answered my prayers
And father if you’re able
Don’t let me do the same damn thing all over again
You get the fever
You get the itch
And you forget about the mess you were in
You forget about the money the lawyers and the pain
And do the same damn thing all over again
Oh mighty father great and good
You need to be in my shoes
You let me fall in love just like before
And now I’m stepping in a big pile of the blues
But now the honeymoon is over
Let’s not pretend
I guess I never
Learned my lesson
I did the same damn thing all over again
You get the fever
You get the itch
And you forget about the mess you were in
You forget about the money the lawyers and the pain
And do the same damn thing all over again
Mother Mary, father Joe
I need to talk to your son
He had troubles just like mine
And he’s the chosen one
So if I ever go to heaven, will that be the end?
Or will I fall for some sweet little angel
And do the same damn thing all over again
You get the fever
You get the itch
And you forget about the mess you were in
You forget about the money, the lawyers and the pain
If it's not you oh no I won't do that
You'll have to wait for me and that is that
Shoulda known, shoulda cared
Shoulda hung around the kitchen in my underwear
Acting like a lady
You shoulda made me, oh
Shoulda jumped a little higher
Shoulda fluttered my mascara
Like a butterfly
Instead of being lazy
It woulda saved me
Someone saved my heart today
Will someone turn the light back on?
Cos ever since you went away
The other rushes feels so wrong
That special something, that they are hunting
They're always wanting, more and more
Nobody sees the show
Not 'til my heart says so
If it's not you, oh no
I won't do that
Boy if you want to be my speciality
You'll have to wait for me and that is that
I won't (ooh), unless you want me to
I want (you), get in the queue
That special something, that they are hunting
They're always wanting, more and more
Nobody sees the show
Until my heart says so
If it's not you, oh no
I won't do that
Boy if you want to be my speciality
You'll have to wait for me and that is that
(Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Shoulda made me now
Gotta save me now
Shoulda known, shoulda cared
Shoulda hung around the kitchen in my underwear
Acting like a lady
You shoulda made me, oh
Shoulda jumped a little higher
Shoulda fluttered my mascara
Like a butterfly
Instead of being lazy
It woulda saved me
Shoulda known, shoulda cared
Shoulda hung around the kitchen in my underwear
Acting like a lady
(Shoulda made me now)
You shoulda made me (gotta save me now), oh
Shoulda jumped a little higher
Shoulda fluttered my mascara
Like a butterfly
Instead of being lazy
(Shoulda made me now)
It woulda saved me (gotta save me now)
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
E-e-everywhere I go,
It's all been taken
Pick me up a book about new sensations
T-t-take me to a place
With no frustration
Better back it up before I lose my patience
Here we go
Let's take 'em to the show whoaoh
C'mon, turn on your radio
whoaoh
Let's go
Let's take 'em to the show whoaoh
C'mon, turn up your radio

Won't see me again until next summer
Here we go
Let's take 'em to the show whoaoh

C'mon if you're feelin', if you're feelin' alright

Let's take 'em to the show whoaoh
As you sleep in our bed
In my arms I see
I dying man
You will always be
What you will be
Ready to take
Waiting to recieve
I'm the object in your life called wife
Struggling for existence
While all around
Glides by
You will always be
What you will be
Ready to take
Waiting to recieve
Hope, pride, will a hand
Break the ice
Pull me from the sea
If I don't ask
I don't recieve
You will always be
What you will be
Ready to take
Waiting to recieve
Just remove the hook
>From my mouth
It keeps me awake, it grows in my head
My body aches, my feelings are dead
I turn my eyes inside out
Gaze into the hell I created, Burned-Out!
Lost everything I had, for a word
My own presence makes me disturbed
I've put myself in a state I can't portray
I scream coz there's nothing left
For me to say
Stare myself blind on words I cannot see
Deep inside I feel it's all so real, to steal
Once I had it all, inside my head
Now it's all gone, my views are spread
Search for solutions, for peace of mind
Feels like I slip away
There's an itch under my skin
Need to get it out before I turn insane
Day and night in hell I spend
Need to figure me out before my sanity ends
Need to get it out, The Itch
Need to get it out, The Itch
I turn my eyes inside out
Gaze into the hell I created, Burned-Out!
Once I had it all, inside my head
Now it's all gone, my views are spread
I've put myself in a state I can't portray
I scream coz there's nothing left
Across the ocean
In this bitterness I wear
I sent you Flowers
I hope you know I care
And if you are in doubt
Undo this situation
Embrace me as you leave
If ever it could be
The world that is beside you
Has been your hope this far
To be what you have wished for
Is now my guiding star
Across the land
In this bitterness inside me
I've walked around
Enclosed myself with weeds
I heard a sound
As if someone stood behind me
As I turn
No one else is there
The world that is beside you
Has been your hope this far
To be what you have wished for
Oh, I'd do anything to feel the wind that day
There in the upper room, all in one place
And I'd give anything to hear the sound of the spirit
Coming down
And the praises they sang
It's the way that your beauty takes the stage
Bigger than a star struck grand parade
Louder than the sound of rock n' roll
Lights down, take a bow, you know you stole the show
And though I've never seen those holy toungues of fire
I feel you in my heart, you inspire me
I see you moving in the simple things
In the way you give life, it's the reason I sing
You've settled down into something secure
But a gnawing feeling leaves you quite unsure
Out of the race, off the market, for ages now
Diving back in rekindles buried doubts
You thought time would help to make things clear
But after all this time, the ache won't disappear
Found yourself in love, lost without a map
Falling back on that ingrained romantic crap
Time's an investment, but after all you've spent
So many questions won't let you be content
You're wondering now if you've made a mistake
When your big romance jut leaves you with an empty ache
You're feeling stale, like a stalemate, with each embrace
From the back of your mind, to staring you in the face
Restlessness, oh yes, but more profound
Ship isn't sinking, oh no, it's run aground
Your relationship is hollow at the core
What the hell do you stay together for?
When you finally admit
That the love of your life is a farce
Living in a world of delour
hate a part of life
if that`s all we live for
then I would rather... die.
I`m going mad, can`t you see my pain
I pray to you God, won`t you please help me
fulfill my deathwish
it`s my only chance for escape
losing touch with reality
what is left for me
Suicide? is death my only way
or is it life, life woth you Lord
I am trying to find my way
through fields of hope
the only flame that burns inside
is my mortal death.
My dream is love
love for everyone
Show me the way lord
show me the way to be free.
My mind is lost, had no hope to live
all alone with no one to care
so much pain I can`t go on
you had the faith where others had none.
(Chorus)
When I say that I need someone
all I need is you lord only you
you showed me the way to live
you saved me from my wish of death
I`d give my life to my Lord
reaching out you heard my cry for help
take my troubles and take my soul
I know you love me, and that`s all I need.
(Chorus)
My mind is free, I`m saved at last
all the pain has been drawn from me
never thought how good life could feel
your love has helped me make it through

Ah ah on, on, on, on, on
Oh my God...
+Well it started up on 8th Avenue
And I made up the name the Get Fresh Crew
It was me, my true DJ Jerona, that would be
My right hand man Ricky D.
I used to rap and sing, make sounds and things
For example, here's a telephone ting
(ring, ring) *Hello, is Doug E. Fresh here
(No, he's not in right now)
+But anyway, no more delay
Just check out the new style I display
Now you got to be fresh to rock wit fresh
And I'm D-O-U-G-I-E Fresh
And I'm know for the (sound effects)
Not for the (sound effects)
The human beat box on the entertainer
No other lable that fit me plainer
In a passing generation, I am a remainder
And I'm also known as a beat box trainer
Cashing checks, make sound effects
And after I'm finish rocking, Slick Rick is on next
(You know it) Slick Rick
*Wel, here's a little something that needs to be heard
Doug, i was walking downtown (Word Rick) word
(Sure) All along, no one to be wit
Step on the D-train, 205th
I saw a pretty girl (so)
So I sat beside her
Then she went roar, she was Tony the Tiger
I said, oh darn, there has been a mistake
Honey, my name's Slick Rick, not frosty flake
(oh, golly wolly) She was raising hell
She said, um, my name is maggie but you can call me Michelle
(Rick sings)
Bust a move, we show and prove
Hey, yo, Doug, do that funky jam on a groove
Oh my God...
It's an echo...
It's written in the stars
I's an echo, and it's written in the stars
It's never easy to leave and say goodbye
So if you tease me it's just a waste of time
There are some answers I really need to find.
It's so confusing, I guess I'm lost this time
I, I pretend I'm not worried
Cause you are the one I believe in, I'm here for you.
Let me know if there's a chance for us
Can you hear the echo
Surrounding our broken souls
We really got to move on
We're waiting, for a sign to clear our minds
It's written in the stars
The echo, surrounding our broken souls
We really got to move on
We're waiting, for a sign to clear our minds
It's written in the stars, written in the stars
The mystery, in the air tonight
Gives me power to, interpret clues from you
That will help me, to find the hidden key
To your lovely heart, I try to find it
Life breeze sweet through the landscape
I wanna show how much I really want you
I'm here for you. Let me know if there's a chance for us
Can you hear the echo
Surrounding our broken souls
We really got to move on
We're waiting, for a sign to clear our minds
It's written in the stars
The echo, surrounding our broken souls
We really got to move on
We're waiting, for a sign to clear our minds
It's written in the stars, written in the stars
Tell me if it's hard to show me what you want
I need to know, should I stay or should I go
Tell me if it's hard to stand next to me and
Say that we are meant to be.
Couldn't it be great to start a brand new day
Just you and me in a fantasy
I'm looking for the time what ever it could be
I'm here for you
Let me know if there's a chance for us.
Can you hear the echo
Surrounding our broken souls
We really got to move on
We're waiting, for a sign to clear our minds
It's written in the stars
The echo, surrounding our broken souls
We really got to move on
We're waiting, for a sign to clear our minds
[Instrumental intro]
[Music & Lyrics : Jesus Christ !]
up from grave
I come to break the spell
slept with corpses scraped
dry blood from veins
dark clouds above shadow hallow
deranged insane my hate my pain
her my footsteps taking your breath
feel my fingers gripping your neck
taste my fury dead and bury
don't you worry you're so pretty
the witch my love I come again to take you home
the witch that I care it's time again that we go home
draped in sheets of blood
so beautiful so beautiful my love
together again forever again
together again forever again
the witch you raised me from the dead
the witch that gave me blood again
the witch we are one again
together we begin again
the witch you raised me from the dead
the witch that gave me blood again
the witch we are one again
the witch again
Oh did you ever think you'd satisfy that itch
Cause it's eatin' at your mind
You need it all the time
Beggin' on account of your fix
Oh did you ever think you'd satisfy that itch
You're crawlin' on the sand
With your face in hand
Rummage through the trash of your life
Wipin' off a page
Just to read all the hate
Givin' up the hope to survive
Lady, don't you call yourself my mother
I've been runnin' all my life
To find why
Oh did you ever think you'd satisfy that itch
Cause it's eatin' at your mind
You need it all the time
Beggin' on account of your fix
Did you ever think you'd satisfy that itch
Did you ever think you'd satisfy that itch
Cause it's eatin' at your mind
You need it all the time
Beggin' on account of your fix
Ripped off
You smoked the Bible
Rolled it up
Your last breath
Hot on my back
You get started
Try to get somewhere
You move so slow
You're not even here
Dear traveller
It's my death
My rhythm
My arithmetic
I got used to
Nobody ridin in the back
Sorrow blowin through the veins
I'm over Houston
You're over the night we met
Dear traveller
The she
Scared electricity
Where no human
Carries a map
You say you gotta burn to shine
But every prism unwinds
A road to ruin
And this tickets mine
Drifting gardens
Eruptions
Fly over scandal
Hidden princes, ambassadors,
Kings, queens and apprentices
Cloud castles in between
Fantasy and reality,
Fantasy and reality
The last piece is in between, in a clear blow
Not ending alliance
I hear the buzzing, the echo, the echo, the echo, the echo
Definitive number, twisted trunk
For the first time
I can recognise
No screaming, it is a lullaby
The last piece is in between, in a clear blow
Not ending alliance
I hear the buzzing, the echo, the echo, the echo, the echo
The last piece is in between
Not ending alliance, i'll have to understand
No timing this time
It is a lullaby
I began to find
Whisper in my mind
The last piece is in between, in a clear blow
Not ending alliance
I hear the buzzing, the echo, the echo, the echo, the echo
The last piece is in between
Not ending alliance, i'll have to understand
No timing this time
It is a lullaby
I began to find
Ripped off
You smoked the Bible
Rolled it up
Your last breath
Hot on my back
You get started
Try to get somewhere
You move so slow
You're not even here
Dear traveller
It's my death
My rhythm
My arithmetic
I got used to
Nobody ridin in the back
Sorrow blowin through the veins
I'm over Houston
You're over the night we met
Dear traveller
The she
Scared electricity
Where no human
Carries a map
You say you gotta burn to shine
But every prism unwinds
A road to ruin
And this tickets mine
Dear traveller
Ha ha ha (ahh)
Don't wanna hurt you (hurt you baby)
You think you love me, but you don't really know me
Don't wanna hurt you (hurt you baby)
Wanna go ride, not a backseat drive
Ahhhhh ooh - ay ay ay on me
Ahhhhh ohh - something inside that you can't provide
I'm feeling the itch again
I need to get tricked again
I'm starting to twitch again
I feel the itch again
I'm starting to twitch again
I need to get tricked again
I feel the itch again
I feel the itch
i-i-itch, i-i-i-i-itch (ahh)
i-i-itch (ahh), i-i-i-i-itch
Don't want to hurt you (hurt you baby)
You can hurt me, but you can't really hold me
what I do, it's crazy
Don't wanna be cold, but I'm out of control
Ahhhhh ooh - ay ay ay that's true
Ahhhhh ooh - wish I could, but I can't be good
I'm feeling the itch again
I need to get tricked again
I'm starting to twitch again
I feel the itch again
I'm starting to twitch again
I need to get tricked again
I feel the itch
I feel the itch again
i-i-itch, i-i-i-i-itch (ahh)
i-i-itch (ahh), i-i-i-i-itch
Cause I want to go down before I feel my heart
Now don't you know that I get restless
You can't reach where I be scratching
So feel the itch again
Itch
Itch
Ahhhhh ooh - ay ay ay I need
Something inside that you can't provide
I'm feeling the itch again
I need to get tricked again
I'm starting to twitch again
I feel the itch again
I'm starting to twitch again
I need to get tricked again
I feel the itch again
I feel the itch
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go, can't do it alone
I've tried and I don't know why
Slow it down, make it stop or else my heart is going to pop
'Cause it's too much, yeah it's a lot to be something I'm not
I'm a fool out of love 'cause I just can't get enough
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go, can't do it alone
I've tried and I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out, it's bringing me down
I know I've got to let it go and just enjoy the show
The sun is hot in the sky just like a giant spotlight
The people follow the signs and synchronize in time
It's a joke nobody knows, they've got a ticket to the show
Yeah, I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go, can't do it alone
I've tried and I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out, it's bringing me down
I know I've got to let it go and just enjoy the show
Just enjoy the show
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go, can't do it alone
I've tried and I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out, it's bringing me down
I know I've got to let it go and just enjoy the show
Just enjoy the show, just enjoy the show
I want my money back, I want my money back
I want my money back, just enjoy the show
I want my money back, I want my money back
I want my money back, just enjoy the show
[Originally called 'The Midland' after a lake steamer called 'The City of
Midland', this song is the true accounting of the final disposal of one of
workers of the Lakes. I know Stan just couldn't resist the comparisons to
we treat our retiring workers!]
They dragged her down, dead, from Tobermory,
Too cheap to spare her one last head of steam,
Deep in diesel fumes embraced,
Rust and soot upon the face of one who was so clean.
They brought me here to watch her in the boneyard,
Just two old wrecks to spend the night alone.
It's the dark inside this evil place.
Clouds on the moon hide her disgrace;
This whiskey hides my own.
CHORUS
It's the last watch on the Midland,
The last watch alone,
One last night to love her,
The last night she's whole.
My guess is that we were young together.
Like her's, my strength was young and hard as steel.
And like her too, I knew my ground;
I scarcely felt the years go round
In answer to the wheel.
But then they quenched the fire beneath the boiler,
Gave me a watch and showed me out the door.
At sixty-four, you're still the best;
One year more, and then you're less
Than dust upon the floor.
CHORUS
So here's to useless superannuation
And us old relics of the days of steam.
In the morning, Lord, I would prefer
WHen men with torches come for her,
Let angels come for me.
CHORUS
It's the last watch on the Midland,
The last watch alone,
One last night to love her,
Look at my face again
Cause i have suffered
Only to lose you now
From all the pain that you caused me
You are the death of me
I know you'll be the death of me
I never wanted this to ever end
Cause i breakdown
From everything that i can't believe
I know i'll make it on my own
So if you give it back to me
Then i will go alone
With the pain you've caused me
Just look into my eyes and you will always know
That i have suffered
Only to take the fall
From all the pain that you have caused me
You are the death of me
I know you'll be the death of me
I never wanted this to ever end
Cause i breakdown
From everything that i can't believe
I know i'll make it on my own
So if you give it back to me
Then i will go alone
With the pain you've caused me
Give it back to me
Give it back to me
Just give it back to me
Cause i breakdown
From everything that i can't believe
I know i'll make it on my own
So if you give it back to me
Then i will go alone
With the pain you've caused me
Ancient is she, like the stone you embrace
called "Atla the Witch"
Mistress or woman, the were-woman stands
pretending the love of a King
Lives in the moor, the dark Dagon's moor
Protected by enchants and runes
Atla The Witch knows something you need
The way to the ruins of hell
CHORUS:
The Witch, The Witch, The Witch, The Witch
Follow The Witch
The Witch, The Witch, The Witch, The Witch
Into the circle
Beyond her eyes knowledge and truth
Atla the Witch
She seems a savage, savager than you
for the clothes and the black hair she got
From the red lips, comes out a sneer
Illusion of human appear
Two bared teeth reveal her essence
Beast or woman, the were-woman stands
Falling in the darkness
Through the rotteness
Feel my anger
Deeper than thy Hell
It starts like this, the kiss is a kiss
The kiss is a kiss, smiles are all smiles.
Say your goodbyes, 'cause love will decide.
Your life in hand, you made your demands
And now what else can you do?
'Cause that won't mean love
Love will decide.
Your world was always mine, your world was always mine.
It's dark on me, driving through central Michigan
Listening to the country station and wandering where I stand.
[Solo:]
Check, one two
Yo Adit, we good to go man? (yeah man)
Well alright, let's start the show
What's up? Nick's the name, that's my man Adit
We took a quick break but fuck it, we back at it
With Part Two, brought to you in part
By the laughs and the tears, and all the places that we've passed through
It's been a hell of a ride the past few
And there's no ending in sight, we bout to let you inside
And shit, I'm not even tryna think about the finish line
Believe it's no game, but it ain't no race neither
We had to do it all at our own pace
Lessons learnt, bridges burnt and forks in the road faced
And I'd be lying if I said there weren't times that I was flying blind
Line by line tryna shine this little light of mine
We put the foundations down with no blueprint
I wrote my first song just to see if I could do it
Used to keep it top secret, leaked it and released it
Barely had our feet wet, got thrown in the deep end
Until all of a sudden, I'm in front of like three hundred
Something people at the Annandale screaming and jumping
And I can't believe it, such a rush, what a feeling
It make me wanna raise up and touch the ceiling
[Chorus:]
Turntables and a mic and we ready to rock, right?
We put it down when we all up in the spot-light
Lights, camera, action, we ready to go
Horrorshow on the set, we just letting you know
It's like, setbacks and traps set on the job site
But the wicked don't rest so we on the grind
So this the motto that we follow
Whatever life throws at us, it don't matter
The show must go on
[Solo:]
The show must go on
The show must go on
Yo, it must go on, the show must go on
On and on to the break of dawn
We'll stay up all night in the flight's in the morning
Catch me sprawled out in an airport lounge somewhere
Hungover as hell like "damn I love touring"
Or out in the middle of nowhere
But even if the budget is threadbare, believe we'll get there
Long days and nights, lost songs on hard drives
And there was one tour we even crashed the car twice (shit)
I juggle part time hustle like I'm living a double life
And spread myself thin like a butter knife
So buckle up and hold on, destination's unknown
But whatever, the show must go on
And things are looking up dude
I'm out on tour with people I grew up looking up to
And all this from the power of a mic check, one two
Now I got some other dreams I'm tryna make come true
[Chorus x2]
[Solo: x2]
The show must go on
The show must go on
The show must go on
Let me entertain you
Rang through my head
I was a reckless child
And I did what he said
People came
From miles around
To hear the sound
That was tearing up the town
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're a god
(Baby you're an icon)
(Maybe you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're a dog
The next batter up
Was a man
A scary man
With the golden hands
He brought his axe
To bury the tracks
No mortal man
Could follow his act
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're god
You can't refrain
From going insane
It's what you want to do
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're a god
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Maybe you're god
Now that rock & roll's in the palm of our hands
We take it to the people every chance that we can
We are the party that never ends
Live by these words until we meet again
You can't refrain
From going insane
It's what you want to do
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're a god
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're god
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're a god
(Maybe you're an icon)
(Baby you're a hard on)
Or maybe you're god
Whoa! It's time for the show babe
N-n-n-n-no!
Whoa! Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Time for the show
See you got a little girl
She's new in town
Well you better watch out now
'Cause she'll put you down
She's an evil chick
Said she's the witch
She's got long black hair
Big black car
I know what you're thinking
But you won't get far
She's gonna make you itch
Said she's the witch
When she walks around late at night
Most of the people are sleeping tight
If you hear knocking on your door
You better send them away (*howl*)
And now you know the score
I've made it clear
And do you remember
I told you so
She's gonna make you itch
Said she's the witch
When she walks around late at night
Most of the people are sleeping tight
If you hear knocking on your door
You better send them away (*howl*)
Got a little girl
She's new in town
Well you better watch out now
She might put you down now
She's gonna make you itch
Into an ancient valley
He rode alone
Where the winds forgot howled cold
And where no man dwelt
There lived the Echo
Hath been for ages before man
The rider and the stallion were still
Everything was still
"Thou wanderst a ghost above thy head
No voices, no whispers
From earth below nor from heaven above
Inside the labyrinth - forever!"
The rider started downwards
And wondered
What could the Echo mean
By her magic words?
"Thou wanderst a ghost above thy head
No voices, no whispers
From earth below nor from heaven above
Inside the labyrinth - forever?"
The rider came up from the valley
Still thinking the words of Echo
He rode along a path through lowlands
All the way he heard the Echo repeating
herself
The further he rode the more quiet
became the voice
"Thou wanderst a ghost above thy head
No voices, no whispers
From earth below nor from heaven above
No I don't think you understand
What I'm looking for, what I yearn for
What I say, who I am and what I stand for
No, no, no
I will not agree, just to keep your peace
Hope you won't agree just to stay with me
It can't be any other way
Even if you
Even if you shift me to the east
Raise me to the north
And drown me in the south
What's left to explore
Don't deny me
I've got your number
I know where you live
Don't refuse me
I know what you need
And just how much to give
Shall I give you what I think you need
Will you let me rack up what I feel
Is good for you, what is good for you
What is good for you
No I'm not asking for
Your undivided twenty four
I need much more than that
Such is the necessity I give more just to receive
But it's the respect I've go to feel
I can't compromise this need
Same as my desire to feel
Even if you
Even if you shift me to the east
Raise me to the north
And drown me in the south
What's left to explore
Don't deny me
I've got your number
I know where you live
Don't refuse me
I know what you need
And just how much to give
Shall I give you what I think you need
Will you let me rack up what I feel
Is good for you, what is good for you
What is good for you
No I don't think you understand
I couldn't talk to you for a week
Out of disappointment and sadness you let me down
And I yearn for you still
Just miss you around
Don't deny me
I've got your number
I know where you live
Don't refuse me
I know what you need
And just how much to give
Shall I give you what I think you need
Will you let me rack up what I feel
Is good for you, what is good for you
What is good for you
Don't deny me
Don't refuse me
Shall I give you what I think you need
Will you let me rack up what I feel
Satisfy the purpose you've got to find
Satisfy the purpose you've got to find
Satisfy the purpose you've got to find
White veils of silk
Hides that beautiful figure
Gloomy and mysterious woman
Attracting the most close wishes
As the weak as the powerful
Enchant themselves with
her hypnotic look
But, don’t live who dare
To discover her secrets
Chorus
Oh, mystic and immortal witch
Spreading the death of men
Her white veil inspire wishes
To suck the life from her victims
The witch, the witch, the witch....
After each death conceived
One light bright from her veil
The vital energy from her victims
Faces the tragical end under her veil
She always appears at night
Killing for pleasure, harvesting innocent lives
Her secrets are eternally hidden
And the mystic witch waits
Under the moonlight
Hey Joe
Where you going with that gun in your hand
Hey Joe
Where you going with that gun in your hand
Going down to shoot my old lady
You know I caught her messing around with another man
Going down to shoot my old lady
You know I caught her messing around on me
Hey Joe
I heard that you shot your old lady down
Hey Joe
I heard that you shot your old lady down
Yes I did, I shot her her
You know, I caught that girl messing around town
Yes I did, I shot her her
You know, I caught that girl messing around town
I took out my gun,
Then I shot her
I shot her
Hey Joe Where you gonna run to now
Hey Joe
Where you gonna run to now
Where you gonna go
Ain't no hangman gonna
Get a rope around me
Ain't no hangman gonna
Get a rope around me. (no one gonna)
Goin' way down south
Way down to Mexico way
Goin' way down south
Way down where I can be free
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
I do not know where to go, can not do it alone
I've tried and I do not know why
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
Slow it down, make it stop or else my heart is going to pop
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
'Cause it's too much, yeah it's a lot to be something I'm not
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I do not know where to go, can not do it alone
I've tried and I do not know why
I'm a fool out of love 'cause I just can not get enough
I'm just a little boy lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I do not show it
I can not figure it out, it's bringing me down
I know I've got to let it go and just enjoy the show
The people follow the signs and synchronize in time
The sun is hot in the sky just like a giant spotlight
It's a joke nobody knows, they've got a ticket to the show
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I've tried and I do not know why
Yeah, I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
I do not know where to go, can not do it alone
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I can not figure it out, it's bringing me down
I'm so scared but I do not show it
I know I've got to let it go and just enjoy the show
Just enjoy the show
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I do not know where to go, can not do it alone
I've tried and I do not know why
I'm just a little boy lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I do not show it
I can not figure it out, it's bringing me down
I know I've got to let it go and just enjoy the show
Just enjoy the show, just enjoy the show
I want my money back, I want my money back
I want my money back, I want my money back
I want my money back, just enjoy the show
The crowd rose to their feet
'round a diamond made of clay
a little boy was rounding third
but the ball beat him to the plate
before the dust could even settle
the other team began to cheer
instead of riding up on shoulders
hes fighting back the tears
i wish i could've won
i wish i knew how that feels
i wish i could've won
faster than the throw from centerfield
'cause being the hero, sure looks like a lot of fun
and i wish i was there
i wish life was fair
i wish i could've won
sitting there by the dugout
another boy was watching through the fence
and dreaming 'bout the things that he could do
if he was only given half a chance
amazed at the reaction of the team
kicking dirt and pitching fits
he says, "i know they'd sit it differently if they could see from where i sit
i wish i could've lost
i wish i knew how that feels
i wish that i could walk
without the help of these four wheels
i'd be as happy as a hero
just to play the game at all
and i wish that i was there
i wish that life was fair
i wish i could've lost
yeah i wish that life was fair
and i could get out of this chair
There was an old witch
Used to live in this house
Traveling havoc both north and south
Old witch living
In a post and beam house
And now I'm making it mine
Spirits in the rafters
Creak of old wood
And what if the banshee is alive and should
Come back to haunt me
With a gunpowder tin
I got a loaded revolver
And a rolling pin
Old road leads to not much of a place
Where a fresh young wife dare not show her face
New tracks in the snow
The buck and the doe
My only companions at forty below
There was an old witch
Used to live in this house
Traveling havoc both north and south
Old witch living
In a post and beam house
And now I'm making it mine
Old old house at the neck of the wood
In the pitch of the night where the tamarack stood
I hear of the witch used to live in the house
All the folks knew her for miles about
But now the house has come to my hands
The whistling wind and the whispering land
All mine for the taking
Come to my care
I look in the forest there are angels there
There was an old witch
Used to live in this house
Traveling havoc both north and south
Old witch living
In a post and beam house
