React has set the Front-End development world on fire. It seems nearly over night that React became the darling of JavaScripts developers everywhere and before you knew it, sites like Netflix, reddit, Khan Academy, Airbnb, and more were rewriting entire front ends to harness that power.
The React inferno isn't contained to just the DOM though; other communities have taken notice and are beginning to harness the power of the one-way data flow that React enforces. In this talk we'll give you a brief overview of why React is so (r)evolutionary for user interface development and some other communities that have taken hold of it as well. We'll talk about seeing React everywhere from the DOM to the terminal, native mobile, game consoles, three dimensional environments, and even virtual reality.

Brian S. Cassidy - "If I Could Write A Song"
After lots of touring with Okkervil River in the 2000s, I felt burned out on popular music, and I went the next 7 years playing very little. Until in 2015, inspired by NPR's Tiny Desk call for videos, I wrote a simple tune with some loop pedals and entered a video into the contest. That sparked a creative surge, and several months later I released my first solo record, "Alpine Seas." So, this 2016 video entry, albeit a hastily-made, grainy, selfie-shot one, is meant as a sincere THANK YOU to NPR Music and the Tiny Desk crew. Thank you.

What is the "Mozart effect"? A set of research results indicate that listening to Mozart's music may induce a short-term improvement on the performance of certain kinds of mental tasks known as "spatial-temporal reasoning".
The "Mozart effect" is the popular idea that "listening to Mozart makes you smarter", or that early childhood exposure to classical music has a beneficial effect on mental development.
However, listening to music doesn't make us more intelligent, even though it can help improve our ability to manipulate shapes mentally.
Moreover, other kinds of music you like or anything that makes you alert (e.g. a few star jumps or drinking coffee) should work just as well.
So enjoy your music and enjoy your life!

Demetri Martin
Demetri Evan Martin (born May 25, 1973) is an American comedian, actor, artist, musician, writer, and humorist. He is best known for his work as a stand-up comedian, being a contributor on The Daily Show, and his Comedy Central show Important Things with Demetri Martin.
Early life
Martin was born on May 25, 1973 to a Greek American family in New York City, New York, the son of nutritionist Lillian and Greek Orthodox priest Dean C. Martin (now deceased). He grew up in Toms River, New Jersey, and has a younger brother named Spyro.
Martin graduated from Yale University in 1995. During his time there, he wrote a 224-word poem about alcoholism as a project for a fractal geometry class, which became a well known palindromic poem. He was also a member of the Anti-Gravity Society, whose members juggle objects on Sunday evenings on Yale's Old Campus.
Although Martin was accepted into Harvard Law School, he went to New York University School of Law after he received a full scholarship. Martin withdrew from law school before the start of his final year, opting to pursue comedy over finishing his Juris Doctor.

Classical music
Classical music is art music produced or rooted in the traditions of Western music, including both liturgical (religious) and secular music. While a similar term is also used to refer to the period from 1750-1820 (the Classical period), this article is about the broad span of time from roughly the 11th century to the present day, which includes the Classical period and various other periods. The central norms of this tradition became codified between 1550 and 1900, which is known as the common practice period. The major time divisions of classical music are as follows: the early music period, which includes the Medieval (500–1400) and the Renaissance (1400–1600) eras; the Common practice period, which includes the Baroque (1600–1750), Classical (1750–1820), and Romantic eras (1804–1910); and the 20th century (1901–2000) which includes the modern (1890–1930) that overlaps from the late 19th-century, the high modern (mid 20th-century), and contemporary or postmodern (1975–2015) eras.

"I Could" is the fourth single from American Idol finalist, Kimberley Locke, and final single from her One Love album. The single was released strictly to radio and was not released as a commercial CD single. "I Could" is the first of Kimberley's singles to not have an accompanying music video.

Bryson Tiller
Bryson Djuan Tiller (born January 2, 1993) is an American singer-songwriter and occasional rapper. His debut studio album, T R A P S O U L, released on October 2, 2015.
Early life
Bryson Djuan Tiller was born on January 2, 1993, in Louisville, Kentucky. His mother died when he was four years old. He has three siblings.
Career
Tiller started receiving massive internet attention from music industry insiders with his breakout single "Don't", which he originally released on his SoundCloud page. Early co-signs from record producer Timbaland and Canadian rapper/singer Drake led to major label attention for Tiller, with him eventually choosing to sign a creative partnership with RCA Records. Announced on August 25, 2015 T R A P S O U L debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200.
Artistry
Talking about his musical style, Tiller said, "It's just trap and hip hop-influenced R&B, the perfect marriage between hip hop and R&B." Tiller has cited American singer Omarion as his biggest influence. Other influences include R. Kelly, The-Dream, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown and Drake. Critics have compared Tiller's style to Jeremih, Drake, PartyNextDoor and Tory Lanez.

Brian S. Cassidy - "If I Could Write A Song" After lots of touring with Okkervil River in the 2000s, I felt burned out on popular music, and I went the next 7 years playing very little. Until in 2015, inspired by NPR's Tiny Desk call for videos, I wrote a simple tune with some loop pedals and entered a video into the contest. That sparked a creative surge, and several months later I released my first solo record, "Alpine Seas." So, this 2016 video entry, albeit a hastily-made, grainy, selfie-shot one, is meant as a sincere THANK YOU to NPR Music and the Tiny Desk crew. Thank you. The "Mozart effect" is the popular idea that "listening to Mozart makes you smarter", or that early childhood exposure to classical music has a beneficial effect on mental development.
However, listening to music doesn't make us more intelligent, even though it can help improve our ability to manipulate shapes mentally.
Moreover, other kinds of music you like or anything that makes you alert (e.g. a few star jumps or drinking coffee) should work just as well.
So enjoy your music and enjoy your life!

Every once in awhile someone asks us how we ended up working on a big studio movie about football. The simplest answer is that we got an email. This particular email was from Brian Reitzell who was the music supervisor for both The Virgin Suicides and Lost In Translation (two movies that we are quite fond of). He said he was working on a new movie and he was wondering if we would be interested in doing music for it. We told him we would. He got back in touch with us a few days later and told us that the movie he was working on was called Friday Night Lights. He didn't really have to explain much as we were somewhat familiar with the book and even more familiar with the setting of the story. West Texas. Midland and Odessa. This is the part of Texas where three out of the four of us grew up. We all read the book and we loved it. It was sad and joyful and depressing and triumphant and funny and ugly and exciting. We said yes. Several months later we found ourselves in a studio in Burbank, staring at a movie screen and trying to write music. Our fears of having weird movie producers and studio executives hovering over us were completely unfounded. It was just us, Brian Reitzell and two friendly Australian engineers (Justin Stanley and Richard Jory). We were surrounded by all sorts of rare equipment (vintage drum machines, rare keyboards and organs, strange percussion devices). We didn't really use any of it. We just stuck with what we knew. There was also a kitchen that was stocked with great quantities of snacks. Chips, cookies, several boxes of Twizzlers, etc. It was delightful. We were in the middle of a tour and in New York City the day in October that the movie opened. We hurried through our soundcheck and literally ran to the closest theater. We got our tickets and sat down and watched the movie. Then we left and ran back to the venue and played our show.

Novelist H. G. Bissinger's story about a high school football team in Texas went to the big screen with Billy Bob Thornton in the lead role. The score and background music was largely composed for the film by indie faves Explosions in the Sky, with a little help from Daniel Lanois, David Torn, and Bad Company. Producer Brian Reitzell has gone against convention in designing musical atmospheres for the film that don't conform either to the martial music generally associated with football or the C&W; associated with Texas. Instead, he opted for a more autumnal, introspective sound that serves as a perfect backdrop for the film, but also stands up on its own without benefit of any other audio-visual cues.

For small-town America, high-school football is a religion. The home team in Peter Berg's Friday Night Lights has to travel over 250 miles of sun-parched southwest highway to meet their rival team, and who better to paint those Texas skies than the Lone Star State's own Explosions in the Sky? Soundtrack producer Brian Reitzell, whose fluid work on The Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation is instantly recognizable here, throws Daniel Lanois, David Torn, and Bad Company into the mix as well, resulting in a collection of music that redirects its intended genre into something altogether spiritual. Sports dramas usually rely on an infuriating blend of swelling strings and "We Will Rock You" bombast, so it's a real treat to hear the post rock quartet's guitar-driven soundscapes illuminating camera close-ups of down-to-the-wire scoreboards and off-field bonding. The wistful, string-driven "Your Hand in Mine" -- courtesy of arranger and father of Beck, David Campbell -- is as close to "traditional" as Friday Night Lights gets, but the atmospheric centerpiece owes a lot more to Brian Eno than it does John Williams. Much of the material was culled from bits and pieces of the band's two Temporary Residence releases -- the director had grown used to them in the context of the work print of the film -- then combined with all-new compositions, making FNL a must-have for fans, but it's the patient way the soundtrack unfolds, Bad Company and all, that gives it an edge over soulless, hit-driven opponents like Remember the Titans or Any Given Sunday.

We were in the middle of a tour and in New York City the day in October that the movie opened. We hurried through our soundcheck and literally ran to the closest theater. We got our tickets and sat down and watched the movie. Then we left and ran back to the venue and played our show.

Novelist H. G. Bissinger's story about a high school football team in Texas went to the big screen with Billy Bob Thornton in the lead role. The score and background music was largely composed for the film by indie faves Explosions in the Sky, with a little help from Daniel Lanois, David Torn, and Bad Company. Producer Brian Reitzell has gone against convention in designing musical atmospheres for the film that don't conform either to the martial music generally associated with football or the C&W; associated with Texas. Instead, he opted for a more autumnal, introspective sound that serves as a perfect backdrop for the film, but also stands up on its own without benefit of any other audio-visual cues.

For small-town America, high-school football is a religion. The home team in Peter Berg's Friday Night Lights has to travel over 250 miles of sun-parched southwest highway to meet their rival team, and who better to paint those Texas skies than the Lone Star State's own Explosions in the Sky? Soundtrack producer Brian Reitzell, whose fluid work on The Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation is instantly recognizable here, throws Daniel Lanois, David Torn, and Bad Company into the mix as well, resulting in a collection of music that redirects its intended genre into something altogether spiritual. Sports dramas usually rely on an infuriating blend of swelling strings and "We Will Rock You" bombast, so it's a real treat to hear the post rock quartet's guitar-driven soundscapes illuminating camera close-ups of down-to-the-wire scoreboards and off-field bonding. The wistful, string-driven "Your Hand in Mine" -- courtesy of arranger and father of Beck, David Campbell -- is as close to "traditional" as Friday Night Lights gets, but the atmospheric centerpiece owes a lot more to Brian Eno than it does John Williams. Much of the material was culled from bits and pieces of the band's two Temporary Residence releases -- the director had grown used to them in the context of the work print of the film -- then combined with all-new compositions, making FNL a must-have for fans, but it's the patient way the soundtrack unfolds, Bad Company and all, that gives it an edge over soulless, hit-driven opponents like Remember the Titans or Any Given Sunday.

Either remakes or re-imagining of these classics. Even a remake of the Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes with Kurt Russell would be an interesting choice. Second genre a non Marvel or DC super-hero movie like Doc Savage Man of Bronze or a live action Johnny Quest movie.

In this one I will be doing a review and giving my thoughts on The Walking Dead The Alien from Brian K Vaughan, Marcos Martin, and Robert Kirkman. I just checked out the issue and to be honest was super impressed by it. The art wasn’t really my style but the writing was incredible. Spoiler warning!

In this one we meet Jeffrey Grimes in Spain and find out what happened to him at the start of the zombie apocalypse. Jeff makes a run for it to try and get back to the United States but unfortunately doesn’t make it. He meets a girl in Spain named Claudia who wants to go to the states with him. They grab a boat but the owner is actually on boat zombified. They fall into the water and Jeff is bitten very badly on his ankle. He tells Claudia to go to the United States and attempt to find his brother Richie or as people call him now a days, Rick. Very cool that we finally get to meet the brother of Rick Grimes and find out his fate. It makes sense now that we’d never see him in the original series as he was actually dead before Rick even woke up from his coma. I really enjoyed this one shot and would love to see it actually become an ongoing series. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed and hope that maybe one day that will happen. As always thanks for watching everyone!

Allowing types to be controlled by ordinary values allows us to prove many more properties about our programs and enables some interesting forms of metaprogramming. We can do interesting things like write a type-safe printf or verify algebraic laws of data structures - but while dependent types are quickly gaining in popularity, it can be tricky to find examples which are both useful and introductory.
This talk will demonstrate some practical dependent typing examples (and not sized vectors) using Idris, a language designed for writing executable programs, rather than just proving theorems.

I recently purchased my first Vanishing Point from The Goulet Pen Company and tried using it with a con-20 like I had read one would be able. However, when I tried it, I found none of my con-20s ended up fitting. The converter just wouldn't snap in no matter how hard I tried (what an inky mess). Upon closer inspection and a little research, I found out that what I had was the Con-LAS, a con-20 type converter apparently made specifically for use in Japan (I think, I still don't know many details) All of my con-LAS converters (which I THOUGHT were con-20s) came from Metropolitans or Pilot Parellels. I was wondering if you could expound on the this whole con-20 vs. con-LAS situation and if you had any information on which pens come with which converters or even information on why the two look so similar but are apparently sized differently? How do you figure out which ink you want to use based on your past reviews?

The idea is to get more people into the hobby by making it very easy to try it without worrying about "wasting" money on something they may not like. If there was analogous Day in the fountain pen world, what products (pens, inks, papers, other accessories) would you put in the selection? This week we’re joined by inspirational poet, writer, speaker, and podcaster, Brian Thompson. Brian is the host of the Zen Thinking podcast, and the author of the soon-to-be-released book, Sparks to Awaken. His goal with Zen Thinking is to provide an entirely new perspective for people to consider their life through, one that allows them to live more wisely, with compassion, purpose, clarity and happiness.
Before shifting to writing full time, Brian spent close to 25 years in the music industry. He managed a chain of music retail stores, I started a record label and artist management company, and tour-managed a successful hard rock band. In this interview we hear about Brian’s work and how the philosophies he explores through his writing can be applied to creative professionals.

Although all based on Japanese anime art style, each segment has its own writing and artistic style, just as the works from the DC Universe, and with the same style of The Animatrix although some segments are connected.[2][3] All six films of the feature star Kevin Conroy, reprising his voice role as Batman from the DC animated universe
