The Wabash River /ˈwɔːbæʃ/ (French: Ouabache) is a 503-mile-long (810 km)river in the Midwestern United States that flows southwest from northwest Ohio near Fort Recovery across northern Indiana to southern Illinois, where it forms the Illinois-Indiana border before draining into the Ohio River, of which it is the largest northern tributary. From the dam near Huntington, Indiana, to its terminus at the Ohio River, the Wabash flows freely for 411 miles (661 km).
The Wabash is the state river of Indiana, and subject of the state song "On the Banks of the Wabash, Far Away" by Paul Dresser. Two counties (in Indiana and Illinois), eight townships in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio; one Illinois precinct, one city, one town, two colleges, one high school, one canal, one former class I railroad, several bridges and avenues are all named for the river itself while four US Navy warships are either named for the river or the numerous battles that took place on or near it.
As the Laurentide ice sheet began to retreat from present day Northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio between 14,000 and 15,000 years ago, it receded into three distinct lobes. The eastern or Erie Lobe sat atop and behind the Fort Wayne Moraine. Meltwater from the glacier fed into two ice-marginal streams, which became the St. Joseph and St. Marys Rivers. Their combined discharge was probably the primary source of water for the proglacial Wabash River system.
Wabash may refer to:
A river is a natural flowing watercourse, usually freshwater, flowing towards an ocean, sea, lake or another river. In some cases a river flows into the ground and becomes dry at the end of its course without reaching another body of water. Small rivers can be referred to using names such as stream, creek, brook, rivulet, and rill. There are no official definitions for the generic term river as applied to geographic features, although in some countries or communities a stream is defined by its size. Many names for small rivers are specific to geographic location; examples are "run" in some parts of the United States, "burn" in Scotland and northeast England, and "beck" in northern England. Sometimes a river is defined as being larger than a creek, but not always: the language is vague.
Rivers are part of the hydrological cycle. Water generally collects in a river from precipitation through a drainage basin from surface runoff and other sources such as groundwater recharge, springs, and the release of stored water in natural ice and snowpacks (e.g. from glaciers). Potamology is the scientific study of rivers while limnology is the study of inland waters in general.
Johnny "J.R." Cash (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, actor, and author, who was widely considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century and one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 90 million records worldwide. Although primarily remembered as a country music icon, his genre-spanning songs and sound embraced rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel. This crossover appeal won Cash the rare honor of multiple inductions in the Country Music, Rock and Roll and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.
Cash was known for his deep, calm bass-baritone voice, the distinctive sound of his Tennessee Three backing band, a rebelliousness coupled with an increasingly somber and humble demeanor, free prison concerts, and a trademark look, which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black". He traditionally began his concerts with the simple "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash", followed by his signature "Folsom Prison Blues".

We floated and fished the Wabash River in Miami County IN on an overnight trip. We caught quite a few catfish and a few other fish.
This was one of the last spots that me and my best friend james swim at. before he pass away.
Just a video of some aerial bowfishing on the wabsh river near Terre Haute Indiana. There were silver carp jumping all over the place. Sorry for the shaky video. I was driving and holding the camera trying to avoid hitting sand banks because the water is unusually shallow right now. Watch closely at 2:25 or you'll miss it. It actually jumped into the boat with an arrow in it after we hit it.
Vincennes, Indiana is steeped in Indiana history. The French established a trading post where the Buffalo Trace crossed the Wabash River in 1732. During the Revolutionary War, Vincennes also played a historic role in the establishment of the first major addition to the United States when George Rogers Clark captured the city from the British. Knox County was the third county organized when Congress established the Northwest Territory in 1790. Vincennes continued it role in shaping Indiana history when President John Adams nominated Harrison to serve as governor of the new Indiana Territory in 1800. Vincennes would be the site of the Indiana Territorial government until 1814 when, in anticipation of statehood, the Territorial assembly moved the capital to more centrally located Corydon. ...

Spending two Fridays catfishing at the Wabash River, mid July, 2012, with my brother-in-law on the first Friday (the 13th), and then the both of us w/his father joining us the following Friday (the 20th). This is the best fishing we've seen yet this year, w/two Blues close to the 20 pound mark being caught the first night, and another Blue pulled in the following trip 30 plus pounds. We do catch a couple of Channels, but the Blues were caught in abundance, as we're fishing deep holes, and their numbers are strong there.
Join us as we hit the wabash river in search of our first bite of the year and it turn's out to be more then we could ask for when a we double up on a bite. Well show you the bait , Where we are fishing and how we catch them from the bank while river fishing its sure to be good time.

Jules Michelet (French: [ʒyl miʃəlɛ]; 21 August 1798 – 9 February 1874) was a French historian. He was born in Paris to a family with Huguenot traditions. In his 1855 work, Histoire de France (History of France), Jules Michelet was the first historian to use and define the word Renaissance ('Re-birth' in French), as a period in Europe's cultural history that represented a drastic break from the Middle Ages (which he loathed), creating a modern understanding of humanity and its place in the world. Historian François Furet wrote that his History of the French Revolution (1847) remains "the cornerstone of all revolutionary historiography and is also a literary monument." His aphoristic style emphasized his anti-clerical republicanism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jules_Michelet Claude Hen...
