Stage 3 of the 2014 Tour Down Under saw a showdown on the fearsome Corkscrew Hill. Follow GCN on YouTube for full TDU coverage: http://gcn.eu/gcnsubs Simon Gerrans, Cadel Evans and Richie Porte all went on the attack on the climb of Corkscrew Hill. Evans forged ahead, taking the stage and the overall lead. Can Gerrans and Porte get time back on the hilltop finish at Willunga Hill? Also in action today was GCN's rider diarist Jens Voigt, who, as normal was off the front in a long breakaway. Can Cadel hold onto his lead? Comment and let us know. Music: Emily C. Tour Down Under 2014 - Stage 5 Race Report
Stage 5 of the Tour Down Under had been spoken about as the decisive stage for the overall. Follow GCN on YouTube for full TDU coverage: http://gcn.eu/gcnsubs With the hilltop on finish on Wilunga Hill, stage 5 looked to be the decisive stage before a final criterium in downtown Adelaide. Simon Gerrans, Cadel Evans and Richie Porte were all gunning for the stage and overall victory. An early break was allowed off the front, with Evans's BMC team controlling the peloton. Going into the final ascent of Wilunga Hlll, Jens Voigt remained off the front, with the leaders fast approaching. Evans as the first to make a move, distancing Gerrans, before Porte attacked and soloed to victory. Behind Porte, the battle for the overall came down to a nailbiting finale. Gerrans leads Evans by just one second going into the final Stage 6. 2014 Santos Tour Down Under - Stage 3
It was always going to be a decisive stage of the 2014 Santos Tour Down Under, and stage 3 didn't disappoint. Cadel Evans (BMC) showed why he is Australia's most decorated road cyclist, with a dominant performance on stage three of the Santos Tour Down Under. Evans attacked on the final climb of the day and stayed away to take the stage win and the overall lead. Simon Gerrans finished fifth on the stage, and now sits in second place overall, 12 seconds down on Evans. Tour Down Under 2014 - Stage 1 Race Report
Stage 1 of the 2014 Tour Down Under came down to a sprint between Simon Gerrans and Andre Greipel. Follow GCN on YouTube for more: http://gcn.eu/gcnsubs The Tour Down Under started with 135km between Nurioopta and Angaston. The stage featured a climb late in the race. Before the start, we caught up with the riders. Luke Rowe, Rory Sutherland and Bram Tankink let us know how they thought the stage would pan out. The race came down to a bunch sprint after the overall riders were unable or uninterested in driving the pace on Mengler's Hill, the only obstacle on an otherwise flat and windy stage. Andre Greipel led it out before Australian champion Simon Gerrans kicked in the last hundred metres and pipped Greipel on the line. We caught up with Simon after the race. Tour Down Under 2014 - Stage 6 Race Report
Stage 6, the final stage of the Tour Down Under was an 85km circuit race in Adelaide on Australia Day. Follow GCN on YouTube: http://gcn.eu/gcnsubs The battle between Cadel Evans and Simon Gerrans for overall victory wasn't over. With just one second separating Evans and Gerrans, the race could be won on time bonuses from the final stage. ORICA-GreenEDGE avoided this by taking control early. A break went off the front, with Will Clarke of Drapac making yet another appearance and taking his third most combative rider jersey of the race. The break of three swallowed up all the time bonuses on offer and with the sprinters eyeing another chance for a stage victory, Gerrans looked to have overall victory sealed. Lotto-Belisol led out the sprint for Andre Greipel and he delivered, taking his career total of TDU stage wins to 16. Gerrans took a record-breaking third overall victory, with Evans second and Diego Ulissi third. A view from Shimano neutral service at the 2014 Santos Tour Down Under
On stage 4 of the 2014 Santos Tour Down Under, CyclingTips was invited to ride in one of the three Shimano neutral service vehicles in the race convoy. The car we were in was positioned behind the team cars, but made several moves further up the convoy at the request of the chief commissaire. We finished the day with the last group on the road which sat up and took it easy on the run in to the finish.
This video shows a selection of moments throughout the day, including wheel and bike changes, some impressive driving and more. Thanks to Shimano Australia and the in-car team of Mario and Marty for having us along for the ride.

2014 Santos Tour Down Under - Stage 4
Simon Gerrans clawed back almost half of Cadel Evans's (BMC) overall lead on stage four of the Santos Tour Down Under, in a crosswind affected stage into Victor Harbor. An impressive team performance from ORICA-GreenEDGE helped to set Gerrans up for the two intermediate sprints, where he picked up five bonus seconds. In the final, Gerrans sprinted to fourth on the stage behind winner Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol).
