Biologically, a child (plural: children) is generally a human between the stages of birth and puberty. Some vernacular definitions of a child include the fetus, as being an unborn child. The legal definition of "child" generally refers to a minor, otherwise known as a person younger than the age of majority. "Child" may also describe a relationship with a parent (such as sons and daughters of any age) or, metaphorically, an authority figure, or signify group membership in a clan, tribe, or religion; it can also signify being strongly affected by a specific time, place, or circumstance, as in "a child of nature" or "a child of the Sixties".
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child defines a child as "a human being below the age of 18 years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier". Ratified by 192 of 194 member countries. Some English definitions of the word 'child' include the fetus and the unborn. Biologically, a child is anyone between birth and puberty or in the developmental stage of childhood, between infancy and adulthood. Children generally have fewer rights than adults and are classed as not able to make serious decisions, and legally must always be under the care of a responsible adult.
Robert Miles (born Roberto Concina, November 3, 1969) is a Swiss-born Italian record producer, composer, musician and DJ in electronica and alternative music.
Robert Miles was born to Italian immigrants Antonietta Lauro and Albino Concina in Fleurier, Switzerland.
Miles became proficient at playing the piano during his youth in Friuli, Italy, in the small town of Fagagna, where his family moved when he was still a young boy, and has been in the music scene since 1984. He worked as a DJ in some Italian clubs and private radio networks and in 1990, he used his savings to establish his own recording studio and a pirate radio station.
In 1994, Miles wrote a house/chill-out piece based on acoustic guitar chords and soft synthesizer effects, "Children", which was later developed into a dream trance track featuring a piano theme on top. The single picked up sales slowly, but within two weeks of its official release in 1995, it had sold more than 350,000 copies all over Europe and topped the charts in many countries. After occupying the Euro Top 100 chart number 1 spot for thirteen consecutive weeks, by 1997, "Children" had sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. It earned Miles platinum records in many countries, a Brit Award (Robert Miles is, to date, the only Italian artist who has received the award) as Best International Male Newcomer 1997, a World Music Award as World's Best Selling Male Newcomer and various other awards.
Dora the Explorer is an American animated television series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh, and Eric Weiner. Dora the Explorer became a regular series in 2000. The show is carried on the Nickelodeon cable television network, including the associated Nick Jr. channel. It aired on CBS until September 2006. A Spanish-dubbed version first aired as part of a Nick en español block on NBC Universal-owned Telemundo through September 2006; since April 2008, this version of the program has been carried on Univision as part of the Planeta U block.
Dora, the main character, is an eight-year-old girl who embarks on a trip in every episode in order to find something or help somebody. She asks the viewers at home to help her find new ways to reach places with the help of Map. She also teaches viewers Spanish, introducing them to short words and phrases.
Dora has a positive view of the characters she meets, failing even to hold a grudge against the mischievous fox, Swiper, who continually attempts to steal items from her party. She acts against villains only when it seems that compromise is impossible, and even in these cases, fails to display actual anger. She gives others a chance to try their hands at tasks even when she herself might have an easier time with them. Dora values her family, whom she loves openly, though she spends little time indoors at home with them. She tries to introduce her traditions and customs, subtly and without compulsion, to those who are not familiar with them.

I'm alone in here
All I know is gone
And I don't want to die
What will be of me tomorrow?
Am I meant to be another orphaned child?
Another victim full of sorrow?
How can we live with this horror that we bring to this world?
What is it that blinds us to the error of our ways?
Nothing's left in here, in this empty room
Where once I lived my life
Mother, why have you deserted me?
Father, why must we all struggle to survive?
And must I grow to be like you?
Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee,
All through the night;
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night;
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping,
I my loving vigil keeping,
All through the night.
While the moon her watch is keeping,
All through the night;
While the weary world is sleeping,
All through the night;
O'er thy spirit gently stealing,
Visions of delight revealing,
Breathes a pure and holy feeling,
All through the night.
Hark, a solemn bell is ringing,
Clear through the night;
You, my love, are heav'nward winging,
Home through the night.
Earthly dust from off thee shaken,
By good angels art though taken;
Soul immortal shalt though waken,
Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee,
All through the night;
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night;
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping,
Mother dear her watch is keeping,
All through the night.
God is here, thou'lt not be lonely
All through the night
'Tis not I who guards thee only
All through the night.
Night's dark shades will soon be over,
Still my watchful care shall hover.
God with me his watch is keeping,
Come on everybody, clap your hands
And say hello to all your friends
Come on everybody, we'll show you how
We'll sing all together now, oh,
All together now
La-la-la, la-la-la,
La-la-la-la-la-la!
La-la-la, la-la-la,
La-la-la-la-la-la-la!
Come on everybody, give it a try
Raise your voices to the sky
Magic will happen here somehow
If we're all together now, oh
All together now
La-la-la, la-la-la,
La-la-la-la-la-la!
La-la-la, la-la-la,
La-la-la-la-la-la-la!
Come on everybody, clap your hands
And say hello to all your friends
Come on everybody, we'll show you how
We'll sing all together now, oh
All together now
La-la-la, la-la-la,
La-la-la-la-la-la!

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home
How sweet the name of Jesus sounds
In a believer's ear
It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds
And drives away his fear
Must Jesus bear the cross alone
And all the world go free?
No, there's a cross for ev'ryone
My country 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died!
Land of the Pilgrim's pride!
From ev'ry mountainside,
Let freedom ring!
My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love.
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills
Like that above.
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees,
Sweet freedom's song.
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.
Our fathers' God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King!
Our glorious land today,
'Neath education's sway,
Soars upward still.
Its halls of learning fair,
Whose bounties all may share,
Behold them ev'rywhere,
On vale and hill!
Thy safeguard, liberty,
The school shall ever be
Our nation's pride!
No tyrant hand shall smite,
While with encircling might
All there are taught the Right
i wake up in the middle of it with my clothes on
sweatin thinkin am i ever gonna wake up here again
im screamin at the sky for a little meaning
im laughing at myself for believing
i cant think of the things i used to tell myself
i cant deal with questions that you left me with
im too young to know, i cant cope
is a little bit of clarity to much to be asking for?
its not ok to leave us when no one knows
its just not fair to say that, then close the door
cos i dont know if youre thinking or dreaming
and we're hangin on with not much hope and your
Every body Pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!
All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth,
My two front teeth,
See my two front teeth!
Gee, if I could only
Have my two front teeth,
Then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."
It seems so long since I could say,
"Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
If I could only whistle
All I want for Christmas
Is my two front teeth,
My two front teeth,
See my two front teeth.
Gee, if I could only
Have my two front teeth,
Then I could wish you
Hush a bye
Don't you cry
Go to sleep my little baby
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies
In your bed
Momma said
Baby's riding off to dreamland
One by one
They've begun
Dance and prance for little baby
Blacks and bays
Dapples and greys
Running in the night
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies
Can you see the little ponies
Dance before your eyes
All the pretty little ponies

The bear went over the mountain,
The bear went over the mountain,
The bear went over the mountain,
To see what he could see
To see what he could see,
To see what he could see
The other side of the mountain,
The other side of the mountain,
The other side of the mountain,
Was all that he could see
Was all that he could see,
Was all that he could see,
The other side of the mountain,
Oh, say, busy bee,
Where now are you going?
Where now are you going,
To work or to play?
I'm bound for the garden
Where roses are blooming
For I must be making
There was a bee-i-ee-i-ee
Sat on a wall-i-all-i-all
And he went buzz-i-uzz-i-uzz
And that was all-i-all-i-all
There was a pup-i-up-i-up
Sat on a bee-i-ee-i-ee
Someone went ki-yi-yi-yi-yi
Here is the beehive.
(Hold fisted right hand outward.)
Where are the bees?
Hidden away where nobody sees.
Soon they come buzzing
Out of the hive...
One! Two! Three! Four! Five!
(Extend fingers, one at a time)
Once I saw an anthill
(Hold fisted left hand outward.)
With no ants about
So I said, "Oh, little ants,
Won't you please come out?"
And then as if by magic,
It seemed they heard my call,
'Cause One! Two! Three! Four! Five came out!
(Extend fingers, one at a time)
I am not a pirate or a sailor or a rogue,
I cannot fight a fire or circumvent the globe;
But you see I am me and I think you'll all agree,
I really am the best one for the job.
No one else can smile exactly just the way I do,
No one has my sparkle in their eye,
When it comes to being me, I really must be frank,
I have the job sewn up so don't apply to do it.
I am not a pirate or a sailor or a rogue,
I cannot fight a fire or circumvent the globe;
But you see I am me and I think you'll all agree,
I really am the best one for the job.
No one else can feel the sunlight shining on my face,
None can use my legs to jump up high.
I must be the only person suited to be me,
So no one else need even go and try to do it
I am not a pirate or a sailor or a rogue,
I cannot fight a fire or circumvent the globe;
But you see I am me and I think you'll all agree,
I really am the best one for the job.
Every single person is a special entity,
I cannot be you you can't be me,
Run and jump and celebrate the person that you are,
Be happy with yourself that is the key, (so do it).
I am not a pirate or a sailor or a rogue,
I cannot fight a fire or circumvent the globe;
But you see I am me and I think you'll all agree,
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
There's a land that's fair and bright
Where the handouts grow on bushes
And you sleep out ev'ry night
Where the boxcars are all empty
And the sun shines ev'ry day
Oh, I'm bound to go where there ain't no snow
Where the rain don't fall and the wind don't blow
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.
Oh, the buzzin' of the bees in the peppermint trees
'Round the soda water fountains
Where the lemonade springs and the bluebird sings
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
You never change your socks
And little streams of lemonade
Come a-tricklin' down the rocks
The hobos there are friendly
And their fires all burn bright
There's a lake of stew and soda, too
You can paddle all around 'em in a big canoe
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.
Oh, the buzzin' of the bees in the peppermint trees
'Round the soda water fountains
Where the lemonade springs and the bluebird sings
A smith had an apprentice once
Who was not very fa-a-a-a-ast,
Of all the workers in the crew
He always was the last.
But this is what he did at noon
When lunch was served for all;
He was the first one in the line,
He never missed the call.
Hallee halloh, halloh hallee,
We're just as gay as we can be.
Hallee halloh, halloh hallee,
There's none as gay as we.
Tra la la, tra la la,
As gay as we can be.
Tra la la, tra la la,
As gay as we.
The blacksmith said to him,
"My boy, I wonder, yes I do-o-o-o-o.
I always thought that 'slow at work'
Meant 'slow at eating' too.
With you, it doesn't work that way,
You save your hands and feet.
At work, you're slow and lazy,
But you hurry when you eat."
Hallee halloh, halloh hallee,
We're just as gay as we can be.
Hallee halloh, halloh hallee,
There's none as gay as we.
Tra la la, tra la la,
As gay as we can be.
Tra la la, tra la la,
As gay as we.
"You wonder, well, I'll tell you!"
Said the young man with a ro-o-o-o-oar,
"We eat a mere one-hour lunch,
But work for FOURTEEN more.
Now, if I'd use those fourteen hours
To lunch instead of work,
I'd eat as slowly as could be,
But work I would not shirk!"
Hallee halloh, halloh hallee,
We're just as gay as we can be.
Hallee halloh, halloh hallee,
There's none as gay as we.
Tra la la, tra la la,
As gay as we can be.
Tra la la, tra la la,
cover up the dry patches with an
overbearing sense of religion
kill your friends if thats what they're worth
society makes you feel like a jerk
children, whip them
children, kill them
take a minute to set a few things straight
then i'm done and we can go out and play
do the time that's time alone
i don't need testosterone she said
this is sick, i hate this shit
the words fall on the floor
turn away, from what is left
[Intro: Pharoahe Monch (Styles P) {police sirens in the background}]
These lil' niggaz is crazy!

It's 'bout the children, man...

No doubt, man, f'real! (wherever they are...)
Real talk! (it's real out here!)
Come on!
[Styles P {Sample from 20th Century Steel Band's: "Heaven And Hell Is On Earth"}:]
{Children} in the hood seem to die at a young age,
Wakes and funerals'll make it feel like a Sunday. (damn!)
All they talk about - is money and gunplay (that's all!)
Only light they gettin' is the one from the sun rays. (no lie!)
{Children!} No light bulb bright idea (no idea!)
Shame when (it's a shame!) "kill that nigga" is the right idea!
Like a nigga lose his life, every night out here (every night!)
Kinda hot. - But they talk about ice out here! (it's hot out here!)
{Chiiildren, children} - is all some I'll shit! (I'll shit!)
12 to 19 all ready to kill shit. (soldiers!)
All of 'em is numb, don't none of 'em feel shit; (don't feel... SHIT!)
It's just like a war zone, that's on some real shit. (it's real, homie!)
{Children!} Homie - this is O.G. talk;
Blow O.G. Kush (O.Geeee!) (yeah!) - for O.G. cough. (O.Geeee!) (yeah!) [coughing]
In the low-key V, shakin' police off! (shake 'em off!)
Don't engage witcha enemy, you know he soft. (ya hear me?)
Whattup? - {Children} - is all missin' the roof over 'em; (missin'!)
Lil' niggaz is hard, they don't know how to school 'em. (they hard!)
They know how a sucka or a herb or a fool look, (they seen that!)
Know how a crack pack dope or the tool look! (they seen that!)
{Children!} Yeah! - The shit is real out here! (it's real!)
Swear blood is like oil how it spill out here. (spill it!)
If you ain't from out here then don't chill out here; (don't chill out here!)
{Chiiildren, children!} The 9 mill' - might pop your grill out here. - Yeah! {children!}
[Chorus: Pharoahe Monch - singin' {20th Century Steel Band sample}]
Some days I might thank - God I don't have nooooo {children}!
To struggle this hard and it's a hassleeee. {children!}
Gotta teach 'em how to survive and wiiiin, {children!}
The whole future of the world depeeends on {children}!
So I talk wise and speak clearlyyyy, {children}
But still sometimes they don't hear me! {children!}
But when I open my heart I catch feelings, {children!}
Cause the kids need hope, they need healing. {children!} - The childrennnn...
[Styles P {20th Century Steel Bannd Sample}:]
The birds play video games, (games!)
Imitate wack rappers and the video dames. (brain washed!)
PlayStation, X-Box, laptop, desktop; (damn!)
I be askin' myself: when will the mess stop? (when will it stop?)
{Children!} Snotty lil' niggaz is too rude (too rude!)
All I know is cooler than YouTube - is makin' it easy (gypsies!)
With nothin' realistic you can see on the TV (NOTHIN'!)
But they call this reality show. (yeah?!)
{Children,} it's time to - make 'em grasses grow! (make 'em grasses grow!)
They'll - make 'em lazy. - It's so crazy! (so crazy!)
Me, I stay hazy. - Always keep a Dutch steamed; (steamed!)
Cause they even't makin' no buttons; it's just a touch screen! (damn!)
{Children} - and they don't talk, they text; (uh!)
L-O-L, (L-O-L!) W-T-F! (W-T-F!) (you know...)
And I be like: "Damn, what the fuck is next? " (what the fuck is next!)
Cause Mr. Illuminati seem to cut them checks. - Yeah!
[Chorus]
[Outro: 20th Century Steel Band sample]
"Children! Children!
Children! Children!
Childre... child...
Chiiiild... children! [beat fades out]
Child... child...
Child... child...
Hen, hen, count to ten;
Goat, goat, get your coat;
Pig, pig, dance a jig.
Mouse, mouse, build a house;
Chick, chick, make it quick;
Cat, cat, find your hat.
Bear, bear, go upstairs,
Mite, mite, say good night;
I am a coco head
Laying on a coco shore
And every body laughs at me
Ha ha ha ha ha
That is why I am practicing
Away in a manger,
No crib for His bed
The little Lord Jesus
Laid down His sweet head
The stars in the bright sky
Looked down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay
The cattle are lowing
The poor Baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes
I love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my side,
'Til morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven
Autumn winds are blowing free,
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!
Leaves fall down from ev'ry tree,
Ooh, ooh, ooh!
Red and yellow, gold and brown,
Softly leaves come tumbling down,
Autumn winds are blowing free,
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!
Autumn winds are whistling 'round,
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!
Leaves go spinning to the ground,

Big or little, all will fall,
As they heed the windy call,
Autumn winds are whistling 'round,

When the Summer shuts her eyes,
Naughty Autumn Breeze
Steals away the pretty leaves
From all the forest's trees.
Then they stand so bare and cold
In the frosty air,
Till old Winter comes along
And finds them shiv'ring there.
Kind old Winter pities them,
When the cold winds blow,
So he wraps them snug and warm
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brocht to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne
We twa ha'e run aboot the braes,
And pu'd the gowans fine;
But we've wandered mony a weary foot
Sin' auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet

We twa ha'e paidled i' the burn

And here's a hand, my trusty frien',
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet
The sun has gone from the shining skies,
Bye, baby, bye,
The dandelions have closed their eyes,
Bye, baby, bye.
The stars are lighting their lamps to see
If babes and squirrels and birds and bees,
Are sound asleep as they should be,
Bye, baby, bye.
The squirrel keeps warm in his furs of gray,
Bye, baby, bye,
'Neath feathers, birdies are tucked away,
Bye, baby, bye.
In yellow jackets, the bees sleep tight
And cuddle close through the chilly night,
My baby's snug in her gown of white,
Bye, baby, bye.
The squirrel nests in a big oak tree,
Bye, baby, bye,
He finds a hole in the trunk, you see,
Bye, baby, bye.
The robin's home is a nest o'erhead,
The bees, they nest in a hive instead,
My baby's nest is her little bed,
Scamper, little leaves, about,
In the warm September sun;
I can hear the old wind shout,
Laughing, laughing, as you run.
By and by to rest you'll go,
Weary of your lively play;
Still the same old wind will blow,
"Au clair de la lune,
Mon ami, Pierrot,
Prête-moi ta plume
Pour écrire un mot!
Ma chandelle est morte,
Je n'ai plus de feu;
Ouvre-moi ta porte,
Je suis très peureux!"
Au clair de la lune,
Pierrot répondit:
"Je n'ai pas de plume,
Je suis dans mon lit;
Va chez la voisine,
Je crois qu'elle y est;
Car dans la cuisine,
How busy Santa's elves must be,
Making toys for you and me,
Dolls and drums and other things!
Oh, what joy our Christmas brings!
At Christmas, Santa packs his sleigh,
Then sets out upon his way,
Taking presents 'round the world,
For good little boys and girls.
On Christmas morn, when I arise,
I cannot believe my eyes!
Santa must have heard my prayer --
I don't sleep so I don't dream
and again I don't want to fall
your name's burned or days are burried
forgotten at all
so I said some day that
I would return to an end
everything to loosw will be just
will be just a friend
yearning oh children
children of love
everyone seems like a little
child like a suicide...
inocence gone wild
everyone seems like a little child
like a suicide candidate
I wish to be in your dreams
every night, nights you'll hate
you know that I could have
waited for a long time
but the thuth is spoken now
and to tell the truth is no crime
you should not feel flattered
it's not yours belong
and dreams are just like
souveniers which I don't want to keep
I don't need the reasons
Little Boy kneels at the foot of the bed,
Droops on the little hands little gold head.
Hush! Hush! Whisper who dares!
Christopher Robin is saying his prayers.
God bless Mummy. I know that's right.
Wasn't it fun in the bath tonight?
The cold's so cold, and the hot's so hot.
Oh! God bless Daddy I quite forgot.
If I open my fingers a little bit more,
I can see Nanny's dressing gown on the door.
It's a beautiful blue, but it hasn't a hood.
Oh! God bless Nanny and make her good.
Mine has a hood, and I lie in bed,
And pull the hood right over my head,
And I shut my eyes and I curl up small,
And nobody knows that I'm there at all.
Oh! Thank you, God, for a lovely day.
And what was the other I had to say?
I said, "Bless Daddy," so what can it be?
Oh! Now I remember it. God bless me!
Little Boy kneels at the foot of the bed,
Droops on the little hands little gold head.
Hush! Hush! Whisper who dares!
One rainy morning
Without any warning
A large umbrella crossed the street
Big, black and shiny
Covering someone tiny
And all that we could see were two small feet
In and out the traffic
Dodging here and there
That umbrella went with a Don't-Care air
I said in wonder
Who is that down under
Hugging that umbrella like a teddy bear
Horns started blaring
Everyone was staring
At that strange object in the street
Big black and shiny
Covering someone tiny
And all that we could see were two small feet
Then a young policeman
Called out from his beat
"That umbrella there has a boy down deep"
He swooped down under
Pulled out Billy Blunder
Just a tiny truant from his morning's sleep
Now Billy Blunder
Who was once down under
Recites by heart his safety code
"When you are out
In rain or hail or thunder
A child who is raised by an unworthy hand
Has less of a chance of being a man
Who will try to remember and then understand
Why a mother would cry while a husband lay dead
Shot down by a gun of a runaway train
Called life in the fast lane it all ends the same
Well the same children's lives they will always regret
Are the children who never forget
A man ends up tired and walking alone
On a street corner singing for a penny a song
What he cannot remember was never his own
That's the answer he gives when he speaks of his home
Well the streets are my life I don't know anymore
Where the children's are junkies and the ladies are whores
Well the same children's lives they will always regret
Are the children who never forget
Goodnight, goodnight sweet child
Why don't you dream with the angels to forget for awhile
To forget of the life that's been handed to you
Where every thing's real yet nothing is true
Well perhaps you can change what the cards always read
For the children who never forget
For a time they were counting you out of this race
You stood up like a champion that had fallen like grace
Never showing the anguish that had covered your face
You were raped and forgotten left to die in disgrace
Shot down by a gun of a runaway train
Called life in the fast lane it all ends the same
Well the same children's lives they will always regret
Are the children who never forget
Goodnight, goodnight sweet child
Why don't you dream with the angels to forget for awhile
To forget of the life that's been handed to you
Where every thing's real yet nothing is true
Well perhaps you can change what the cards always read
For the children who never forget
Goodnight, goodnight sweet child
Why don't you dream with the angels to forget for awhile
To forget of the life that's been handed to you
Where every thing's real yet nothing is true
Goodnight, goodnight sweet child
Why don't you dream with the angels to forget for awhile
To forget of the life that's been handed to you
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
The old gray goose is dead.
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving
To make a feather bed.
The goslings are mourning,
The goslings are mourning,
The goslings are mourning,
Because their mother's dead.
The old gander's weeping,
The old gander's weeping,
The old gander's weeping,
Because his wife is dead.
She died in the mill pond,
She died in the mill pond,
She died in the mill pond
From standing on her head.
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
Frre Jacques, Frre Jacques,
Dormez vous? Dormez vous?
Sonnez les matines, Sonnez les matines
Di, din, don! Di, din, don!
English Version:
Are you sleeping, are you sleeping?
Brother John, Brother John?
Morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing
Well, you knock, knock, knock and I say, "Come in."
You open the door and you take a big spin.
Slap your heels and you slap your knees.
Why don't you do the Head and Shoulders with me.
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
And eyes and ears and mouth and nose,
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
Well, you knock, knock, knock and I say, "Come in."
You open the door and you take a big spin.
Slap your heels and you slap your knees.
Why don't you do the Head and Shoulders with me.
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
And eyes and ears and mouth and nose,
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
Neck, elbows, hips and feet, hips and feet
And thighs and rears and lips and teeth,
Neck, elbows, lips and teeth, lips and teeth.
Well, you knock, knock, knock and I say, "Come in."
You open the door and you take a big spin.
Slap your heels and you slap your knees.
Why don't you do the Neck and Elbows with me.
Neck, elbows, hips and feet, hips and feet
And thighs and rears and lips and teeth,
Neck, elbows, lips and teeth, lips and teeth.
(One more time! )
Well, you knock, knock, knock and I say, "Come in."
You open the door and you take a big spin.
Slap your heels and you slap your knees.
Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?
Mud!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Make sloshing sounds and move hands as if slogging]
Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?
Sticks!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Snap fingers]
Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?
Trees!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Make gestures climbing up and down.]
Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?
Gate!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Make gate-opening gestures.]
Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?
River!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [make swimming gestures]
Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?
Grass!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. Grass [move hands together and apart]
Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?
Cave!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [act like you are feeling your way in a dark cave]
Feel yourself along the wall.
Oh, oh What's this?
Something funny.
With a long soft thing on it's end!
With two sharp things!
Two big gleaming sharp things!
A LION!
Run for your life!
Run out of the cave!
Crawl through the grass!
Swim across the river!
Run through the gate!
Run around the trees!
Jump over the sticks!
Slosh through the mud!
Run into the house!
Close the door!
Run up the front stairs!
Five little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only four little ducks came back.

The sad mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack."

Then hands measure 'deep')
The third one said, "I want to sleep."

Oh, don't you remember, a long time ago,
Those two little babies, their names I don't know
They were stolen away one bright, summer's day
And left in a wood, so I've heard folks say.
Sweet babes in the wood
Sweet babes in the wood
Oh, don't you remember
Those babes in the wood
Now the day being gone and the night coming on
Those two little babies sat under a stone
They sobbed and they sighed, they bitterly cried
Those two little babies they laid down and died
Sweet babes in the wood
Sweet babes in the wood
Oh, don't you remember
Those babes in the wood
Now the robins so red, how swiftly they sped
They put out their wide wings and over them spread
And all the day long on the branches among
They sweetly did whistle and this was their song
Sweet babes in the wood
Sweet babes in the wood
Oh, don't you remember
If we are the only ones, I will disappear.
If we are the only ones, I will disappear.
Children cry, all the time.
Maybe they're relatively heart broken,
And there's no music but motherÕs smile.
Take this down and don't ask why.
I am just a human being, yet that is hardly worth dying for.
And in between, we will fall to our knees,
In between shooting through you all.
If we are the only ones, I will disappear.
Take this down, it's no crime.
See I have never been so suspicious
And I have never ever stopped.
Grown men cry, all the time.
Maybe they're relatively heart broken,
Maybe they're relatively sad.
And in between, we will fall to our knees,
In between shooting through you all.
If we are the only ones, I will disappear.
If we are the only ones, I will disappear.
If we are the only ones, I will disappear.
God help us.
If we are the only ones,
If we are the only ones,
If we are the only ones,
If we are the only ones, won't somebody tell for sure?
Birth me of blood oil
salt sugar water pales
build me black Jesus
'cause Jesus can't save me
shackles pulling at your hair
shine me from roots out
wash me form the neck down
cut me fat stores
take me to the tree line
I'm a headin' down down down
down to the river 'cause I don't believe in medicine
I'll crawl out shakin' pale
always got the answer I got ears all around me
burn up in black smoke
thick and pourin' down your throat
make me of bread walks
listen up with ears we're divin'
birth me of blood oil
salt sugar water pales
build me black jesus
shackles pulling at your hair
I'm a headin' down down down
down to the river 'cause I don't believe in medicine
I'll crawl out shakin' pale
always got the answer I got ears all around me
Tell your children we got another year comin'
oil stands the legs this body speaks in tongues
and croaks "I'm headin' down"
I'll walk down to the river where we met our pales
filled and spillin' like our southern friends
met that pale atop the rocks and moss
grass grips licks about our heels and bends
Tell your children we spent a year in this fire.
copper bands and hells getting lighter line up
in lines we can only get higher
Tell your children we got another year comin'
As I went a-walking along, long, long,
A-singin' a silly old song, song, song,
The road that I walked was so long, long, long,
And the song that I sung was so long, long, long,
As with gladness men of old
Did the guiding star behold
As with joy they hailed its light
Leading onward, beaming bright
So most gracious God may we
Evermore be led by Thee
As with joyful steps they sped
To that lowly manger bed
There to bend the knee before
Him whom heav'n and earth adore
So may we with willing feet
Ever seek Thy mercy seat
As they offered gifts most rare
At that manger rude and bare
So may we with holy joy
Pure and free from sin's alloy
All our costliest treasures bring
Christ to Thee, our heav'nly King
Holy Jesus ev'ry day
Keep us in the narrow way
And when earthly things are past
Bring our ransomed souls at last
Where they need no star to guide
I have a wife and 1 kid
One day my boss says...
Are you busy?
I said no
So I pushed this button (and keepin g on getting more kids until you get to 30)
Hi my name is Jo and I'm workin in a button factory I got a wife and 30 kids one day my boss says are you busy?
Around the corner,
And under a tree,
A sergeant major,
Once said to me,
"Who would marry you?
I would like to know,
For every time I look at your face,
It makes me want to go
Around the corner,
And under a tree...

Little Arabella Miller
Had a fuzzy caterpillar
(Tickle palm with two fingers)
First it crawled up on her mother
(Walk fingers up left arm)
Then upon her baby brother
(Walk fingers up right arm)
They said, "Arabella Miller!
(Walk fingers up over head)
Put away your caterpillar!"
(hide hands behind back)
Little Arabella Miller
Had a fuzzy caterpillar
First it crawled upon her brother
Then upon her dear grandmother
Gran said, "Arabella Miller,
The sunbeams are twinkling;
The air, soft and free,
Is telling a message
To you and to me.
Come out! Come out!
We're planting a tree;
Come out! Come out!
Let's all plant a tree.
Though now it is slender,
No taller than I,
It soon will be growing
Straight up to the sky.
A tree! A tree!
That reaches so high;
A tree! A tree!
I like apples and oranges.
I like apples and oranges.
Apples and oranges are so sweet.
Apples and oranges are good to eat.
I like apples and oranges.
Orange juice is so sweet,
Apple sauce is fun to eat,
Apple pie with ice cream -- what a tasty treat.
I like apples and oranges.
I like apples and oranges.

I like apples and oranges.
Apples and oranges are so sweet.
Apples and oranges are good to eat.
I like apples and oranges.

Apple pie with ice cream -- oooh, what a tasty treat.
I like apples and oranges.
I like apples and oranges.

April rain is here again;
Hear it pitter, pitter, patter,
On the leaves and on the trees,
See it spitter, spitter, spatter.
Rain, oh rain, don't go away
We need you for flow'rs in May;
Drip, drip, drop and do not stop,
Send a little rain our way.
On a log sits Mister Frog,
Can you hear him calling, calling?
Poking fun at Mister Sun,
As the rain keeps falling, falling.
Mrs. Robin builds her nest,
Rainy days she loves the best;
Drip, drip, drop and do not stop,
"What hue shall my apples be?"
Asked the little apple tree.
"That is easy to decide;
Make them green," the grasses cried.
But the crimson roses said,
"We would rather have them red,"
While the dandelions confessed
Yellow suited them the best.
When the apples all were ripe,
Many wore a yellow stripe.
Some were red and some were green,
I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas
I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas
I like to ate, ate, ate ay-ples and ba-nay-nays
I like to ate, ate, ate ay-ples and ba-nay-nays
I like to eat, eat, eat ee-ples and bee-nee-nees
I like to eat, eat, eat ee-ples and bee-nee-nees
I like to ite, ite, ite i-ples and by-ny-nys
I like to ite, ite, ite i-ples and by-ny-nys
I like to ote, ote, ote oh-ples and bo-no-nos
I like to ote, ote, ote oh-ples and bo-no-nos
I like to oot, oot, oot oo-ples and boo-noo-noos
I am the eye, I go blink, blink,
Yes, I am the eye and I can wink,
I am the eye but I can't think,
That belongs to my friend the brain.
Fritter fratter frit, fritter fratter frit,
I'm the brain with electric current patter pit,
I'm the brain and I fritter learning bit by bit,
Yes I fritter fratter fritter all the time.
I go lub dub, lub dub I go.
I am the heart, I pump like so.
I'm bringing life to all the parts,
I am consistent, I'm the heart.
Swinging, I'm swinging,
Swinging on life's merry way.
I'm the arm, I'm the arm,
Bringing grace to all.
Hearing, hearing,
Small ears, hearing,
We don't, miss much,
Hearing all the time.
We are the body of Christ,
We are the body of Christ,
Deep the cellar, timbers high,
(Both hands point down, then up -- arms full length.)
Pointed roof up in the sky,
(Bring fingertips together over the head.)
Drive the nails in straight and true,
(Hammer with one fist on the other.)
Build a house for me and you.
(Continue to hammer.)
Windows, shining eyes to see,
(Circle hands at eyes and 'peek' in.)
Doors open wide to welcome me,
(Open arms wide.)
Fire glowing, oh, so bright,
('Warm' hands in front of fire, then rub hands together.)
That is HOME on winter's night.
Children, finish what we started.
They may only live in the world we give them.
Children, will they be brokenhearted?
They may never know what they're missing.
We gotta take it easy,
We gotta take it slow,
We gotta leave 'em something
Somewhere to go.
All the children are the heirs (children are the heirs)
Taking what we give them.
Will they even care, (will they even care?)
Or will they do what we did?
Children, staring at the ocean
They just want to play in the water -- but it's black.
We gotta take it easy,
We gotta take it slow,
We gotta leave 'em something
Somewhere to go.
All the children are the heirs (children are the heirs)
Taking what we give them.
Will they even care, (will they even care?)
Or will they do what we did?
We are all the victims of our heavy hands
Who will make the children understand?
Children are the heirs (children are the heirs)
Taking what we give them.
Will they even care, (will they even care?)
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king's horses and all the King's men
Over in Killarney
Many years ago,
Me Mither (My Mother) sang a song to me
In tones so sweet and low.
Just a simple little ditty,
In her good 'ould' (old) Irish way,
And I'd give the world if she could sing
That song to me this day.
"Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby."
Oft in dreams I wander
To that cot again,
I feel her arms a-huggin' me
As when she held me then.
And I hear her voice a-hummin'
To me as in days of yore,
When she used to rock me fast asleep
Outside the cabin door.
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Hush, now don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Here we sit like
Bumps on a hollow log,
Bumps on a hollow log,
Bumps on a hollow log.
Here we sit like
Bumps on a hollow log,
Waitin' for the holidays.
Countin' down the school days,
Waitin' for the holidays,
Oh, here we sit like
Bumps on a hollow log,

Chorus:
I said a Pharaoh, Pharaoh
Oooh baby, let my people go free!
Yeah, yeah, yeah (2x)
Well a burnin' bush told me just the other day
That I should come over here and stay
I gotta get my people out of Pharaoh's hand
And lead them all to the promise land
Chorus
So God sent my brother Aaron and me
To tell the Pharaoh of the Lord's decree
You better let go. NO! Not gonna beg
Or you'll wake up in the morning with a nasty plague
Chorus
Well me and and my people goin' to the Red Sea,
And all of Pharaoh's army comin' after me.
I took my staff, stuck it in the sand,
And all of God's people walked on dry land.
Singin...
Chorus
Now Pharaoh's army was a-comin' too,
So what do you think that I did do?
I raised my rod and cleared my throat,
And all of Pharaoh's army did the dead man's float.
Chorus
Well that's the story of the stubborn goat.
Pharaoh should've know that chariots don't float.
The lesson is simple, it's easy to find,
Round and round the cobbler's bench
The monkey chased the weasel,
The monkey thought 'twas all in fun
Pop! Goes the weasel.
A penny for a spool of thread
A penny for a needle,
That's the way the money goes,
Pop! Goes the weasel.
A half a pound of tupenny rice,
A half a pound of treacle.
Mix it up and make it nice,
Pop! Goes the weasel.
Up and down the London road,
In and out of the Eagle,
That's the way the money goes,
Pop! Goes the weasel.
I've no time to plead and pine,
I've no time to wheedle,
Kiss me quick and then I'm gone
A magical garden of make believe
Where flowers chuckle and birds play tricks
And a magic tree grows lollipop sticks
Here in the garden what we say and do
We'd like you to join us and do it to
Can you crow like a rooster?
Cock-a-doodle-doo!
And clap your hands and stamp your shoe
It's a funny place but it's surely true,
That we'd like to share it all with you
If you sing for me (la la-la-la-la-la)
I'll sing for you (lu lu-lu-lu-lu-lu)
If you cry for me (ooo hoo-hoo-hoo)
I'll cry for you (boo hoo-hoo-hoo)
If you scream for me (aaaahhhh! )
I'll scream for you (waaaahhhh! )
If you laugh for me (hee hee-hee-hee-hee-hee)
I'll laugh for you (ha ha-ha-ha-ha-ha)
So come on in without a fuss,
'Cause the magical garden is waiting for us
O come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Welcome to lazytown a place where you want to stay
You'll meet Robbie and his rotten plan
And Sportacus saving the day
Stephanie is new in town, but soon she and Ziggy are friends
With Pixel, Stingy, and Trixie too
They're gonna have a blast together
Go, go, go get up lazytown it's a start of a brand new day
Things are upside down here in lazytown

All on a Saturday night

You take your right hand out
You give your hand a shake, shake, shake
And turn yourself about

Here we go looby loo
All on a Saturday night
You put your left foot in
You take your left foot out
You give your left foot a shake, shake, shake
And turn yourself about
Here we go looby loo
Here we go looby light
Here we go looby loo
All on a Saturday night
You put your whole self in
You take your whole self out
You give your whole self a shake, shake, shake
Hear the merry laugh of children,
Hear the chestnut horses neigh!
See the mice all scurry,
See the farmers hurry,
When it's time for
Bringing in the hay!
Good smells coming from the kitchen,
We'll get lots of treats today!
Cattle are a-mooing
Pigeons are a-cooing,
As they watch us
Bringing in the hay!
Pitchforks shining in the sunlight,
As the farmers work all day,
They were early starting,
And they won't be parting,
'Til we finish
Bring a torch, Jeannette, Isabella
Bring a torch, come swiftly and run
Christ is born, tell the folk of the village
Jesus is sleeping in His cradle
Ah, ah, beautiful is the Mother;
Ah, ah, beautiful is her Son.
Hasten now, good folk of the village
Hasten now, the Christ-Child to see
You will find him asleep in the manger
Quietly come and whisper softly
Hush, hush, peacefully now He slumbers
Break forth, O beauteous, heav'nly light
And usher in the morning
Ye shepherds, shrink not with affright
But hear the angel's warning
This Child now weak in infancy
Our confidence and joy shall be
The pow'r of Satan breaking
The duck it never 'quackles'
'Bout its million eggs or so
The hen's another story, though,
One egg, and hear her blow!
The duck we spurn,
The hen we crown,
Which leads me to surmise;
Don't hide your light,
Just toot your horn --
Buildings come crumbling
Right to the ground
And I can't help noticing
When I'm looking around
When I'm looking around
Windows can't see in 'em
To let me lies
We won't be taking it
Look 'em right in the eyes
Look 'em right in the eyes
Oh, if I had my way
I'd throw everything away
I'd draw it all up again
Keep walking with me
Oh, if I had my way
I'd give everything I have
To make everything okay
Sing it with me
Darkness falls and kills the light
Don't surrender, be alright
Fuse blow up like dynamite
And the children keep on singing, singing
Darkness falls and kills the light
Don't surrender, be alright
Innocence like flying kites
And the children keep on singing, singing
Walking down Penny Lane
Walk, walk of gold
Follow the rainbow
To the end of the road
To the end of the road
Still got me nothing
Nothing but road
They say 'It's funny'
I'm not getting the joke
I'm not getting the joke
Oh, if I had my way
I'd throw everything away
I'd draw it all up again
Keep walking with me
Oh, if I had my way
I'd give everything I have
To make everything okay
Sing it with me
Darkness falls and kills the light
Don't surrender, be alright
Fuse blow up like dynamite
And the children keep on singing, singing
Darkness falls and kills the light
Don't surrender, be alright
Innocence like flying kites
And the children keep on singing, singing
[Chiddy]
Chid, Miss V.V. Brown
I'll hold you down
Watching the tv, man, kids just want to be famous
And be a big star, rather be known than be nameless
If i had my away, i'd draw it all up again
Can't take a loss, we must stood up and win
Momma was hurting and she couldn't spend a penny more
But why nobody have real dreams anymore
Forget the issues and worries this is something about
Supporting optimistic dreams when it's crumbling down
Sing it with me
Darkness falls and kills the light
Don't surrender, be alright
Fuse blow up like dynamite
And the children keep on singing, singing
Darkness falls and kills the light
Don't surrender, be alright
Innocence like flying kites
And the children keep on singing, singing
Barber, barber shave a pig
How many hairs to make a wig?
Four and twenty, that's enough
To give the barber a pinch of snuff
Barber you think you're doin' fine
But you'd better think twice before you touch that swine
'Cause if you were the pig and the pig were you
Brown baby, brown baby,
As you grow up I want you to drink from the plenty cup.
I want you to stand up tall and proud.
I want you to speak up clear and loud.
Brown baby, brown baby, brown baby,
As years roll by,
I want you to go with your head held high.
I want you to live by the justice code.
I want you to walk down the freedom road.
Brown baby, now lie away,
Lie away sleeping,
Lie away here in my arms,
While your daddy and your momma protect you.
And keep you safe from harm.
Oh, brown baby, brown baby,
It makes me glad that you will have
Things I have never had.
When out of men's hearts all the hate is hurled,
You're going to live in a better world.
Brother, you and I,
Brother, you and I,
We'll sing our lullaby.
Hush, my dear,
Sing sweet and low;
Baby now to rest will go;
Hush thee, hush thee,
Singing soft and low;
Hush thee, hush, thee,
Singing soft and low.
Brother, you and I,
Brother, you and I,
We'll sing our lullaby.
Tired blue eyes
Will gently close;
Sleepy now the baby grows;
Hush thee, hush thee,
Sleep in sweet repose;
Hush thee, hush thee,
Beautiful dreamer,
Wake unto me
Starlight and dewdrops
Are awaiting thee
Sounds of the rude world
Heard in the day
Led by the moonlight
Have all passed away
Beautiful dreamer,
Queen of my song
List' while I woo thee
With soft melody
Gone are the cares of
Life's busy throng
Beautiful dreamer
Awake unto me
Beautiful dreamer,
Oh, you beautiful bumblebee!
Don't go buzzin' yourself at me!
There's no honey inside my head;
Go and buzz at a flow'r instead.
Oh, you beautiful bumblebee!
Beanbag, beanbag
Play a game of beanbag!
Toss it first to Laura Lee,
Then to Jenny, then to me.
Beanbag, beanbag,
I remember walking with holes in our shoes
I remember we weren't the kind to make an excuse
I remember thinking we would break all the rules
Where are those children now? Where are those children now?
I remember hellfire and brimstone be damned
I remember trembling at the touch of your hand
Crossing the desert to the California sand
Where are those children now? Where are those children now?
I remember angels who lent us their wings
Cigarettes and paperback poetry kings
Kicking up dust like we didn't need a thing
Where are those children now? Where are those children now?
Now the curtain calls and fails to fill me
I wander down the halls that used to thrill me
I remember singing, "San Francisco Bay Blues"
I remember being happy just paying our dues
I remember thinking we had nothing to lose
Where are those children now? Where are those children now?
There is a flower
Within my heart,
Daisy, Daisy!
Planted one day
By a glancing dart,
Planted by Daisy Bell!
Whether she loves me
Or loves me not,
Sometimes it's hard to tell;
Yet I am longing to share the lot -
Of beautiful Daisy Bell!
Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer true!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two.
We will go 'tandem'
As man and wife,
Daisy, Daisy!
'Peddling' away
Down the road of life,
I and my Daisy Bell!
When the road's dark
We can both despise
P'licemen and 'lamps' as well;
There are 'bright lights'
In the dazzling eyes
Of beautiful Daisy Bell!
Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle made for two.
I will stand by you
In 'wheel' or woe,
Daisy, Daisy!
You'll be the bell(e)
Which I'll ring you know!
Sweet little Daisy Bell!
You'll take the 'lead'
In each 'trip' we take,
Then if I don't do well,
I will permit you to
Use the brake,

Betty Botter bought some butter,
"But," she said, "the butter's bitter;
If I put it in my batter,
It will make my batter bitter;
But a bit of better butter,
That would make my batter better."
So she bought a bit of butter,
Better than her bitter butter,
And she put it in her batter,
And the batter was not bitter;
So 'twas better Betty Botter
In winter I get up at night,
And dress by yellow candle light.
In summer quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day,
To go to bed by day,
To go to bed by day.
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown up people's feet
Still going past me in the street,
Past me in the street,
Past me in the street.
And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?
To go to bed by day?
The boy cried out
Gaily on the ground
At the joy
Of something he had found
Aw, come on children, get your heads back together
Aw, come on children, get your heads back together
Aw, come on children, get your heads back together
The days are getting warmer now
The nights are getting shorter now
And you know we can make it 'cause you know we're alive
But we don't have to take it, any way we'll survive
If I were you
I'd throw it far away
But if you were me
You'd tell me I should stay
Aw, come on children, get your heads back together
Aw, come on children, get your heads back together
Aw, come on children, get your heads back together again
Again, again and again and again
Again, and again and again

Sister's gone a'silking
Brother's gone to buy a skin

Hey You one time in my life... Laugh
Make this clear in a Statement
Be kind to your web-footed friends,
For a duck may be somebody's mother,
Be kind to your friends in the swamp
Where the weather is always damp,
You may think that this is the end.
As I was walking down the street,
Down the street, down the street,
A pretty little gal I chanced to meet,
Oh, she was fair to see.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight,
Come out tonight, come out tonight.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight
And dance by the light of the moon.
I stopped her and we had a talk,
Had a talk, had a talk,
Her feet took up the whole sidewalk
And left no room for me.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight,
Come out tonight, come out tonight.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight
And dance by the light of the moon.
I asked her if she'd have a dance,
Have a dance, have a dance,
I thought that I might have a chance
To shake a foot with her.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight,
Come out tonight, come out tonight.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight
And dance by the light of the moon.
I danced with a gal with a hole in her stockin',
And her heel kept a-knockin', and her toes kept a-rockin'
I danced with a gal with a hole in her stockin'
And we danced by the light of the moon.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight,
Come out tonight, come out tonight.
Buffalo Gals, won't you come out tonight
Mama takes baby to Byloland,
Where she can see the sights so grand;
When the first stars in the bright skies peep
Mama rocks baby to sleep.
Bylo! Bylo! Baby is going to Byloland!
Bylo! Bylo! Baby is going to sleep.
Mama takes care of you all the day,
Watches your steps so that you don't stray;
Cares for you all thro' the sunshine bright,
Cares for you all thro' the night.
Bylo! Bylo! Baby is going to Byloland!
Bylo! Bylo! Baby is going to sleep.
Mama tells stories at close of day,
Mama will kiss all your tears away;
Now, little one, not another peep,
Mama rocks baby to sleep.
Bylo! Bylo! Baby is going to Byloland!
Were up at Camp Menzies. The camp of
Our dreams, were streams let me ender
And sparkers and gleames. So come on and join us. For we are never blue.
Be a member of our happy, happy, crew you too.
At night round the camp fire. We laugh
And we sing. Give a cheer for Camp Menzies
And let the echoes ring. We'll cheer
For our campers our garden leaders to.

Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.

And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane.

Bye baby bunting
Daddy's gone a'hunting
Mummy's gone a'milking
Sister's gone a'silking
Brother's gone to buy a skin
Bye, O baby bunting
Daddy's gone a hunting
To get a little rabbit skin
To wrap his baby bunting in
Bye, O baby bunting
Daddy's gone a hunting
To get a little lambie skin
To wrap his baby bunting in
Bye, O baby bunting
Daddy's gone a hunting
A rosy wisp of cloud to win
One candle for *Baby,
On her (his) birthday cake,
One love pat -- a soft one,
One hug and one shake;
Then one kiss with love
That can never be told,
All these for our *Baby
Who's just one year old.
Here is baby's storybook,
(Palms together, like in prayer)
Opening up wide.
('Open' the book, palms facing upward,
with pinkies touching each other)
Here are birdies flying high
(Thumbs together, use other fingers
to flap, like wings)
That you'll find inside.
Here's a little windmill
Whirling 'round and 'round.
(Pointer fingers facing each other,
spin them around in circles)
And here is baby's rattle,
(Hand in fist, as if holding a rattle)
Such a noisy sound! Chh, chh, chh!
(Pretend to shake rattle while making 'chh' sound)
Here is baby's cradle,
(Fingers intertwined, with pointer
fingers up -- like church steeple)
Soft and warm and white.
This is how the baby
Goes to sleep at night.
(Cup hands together at shoulder,
resting head on hands, eyes closed)
Here's the big round sun
(Make big circle with arms over head)
That wakes the baby up.
And this is how she takes a drink
From her little cup.
(Hand fisted, as if holding a cup.
Fly away, Birdie, oh!
Bring something home
To my Baby-Bo;
Bring her a feather
And bring her a song,
Soothe her with music
As I was going to sell my eggs
I met a man with bandy legs,
Bandy legs and crooked toes;
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Cup hands together as if holding bee)
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!
(Shake hands as if just stung)
I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
('Squish' bee between palms of hands)
I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Ooh! It's yucky!
(Open up hands to look at 'mess')
I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Wipe hands off on shirt)
I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Now my mommy won't be mad at me!
Oh, I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee
Won't my mommy be so proud of me
'Cause I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee --
Buzzy, buzzy, buzzy --
(spoken): OOOOH, it bit me!
Oh, I'm bringing home a baby rattlesnake
Won't my mommy shiver and shake
'Cause I'm bringing home a baby rattlesnake --
Rattle, rattle, rattle --
(spoken): OOOOH, it bit me!
Oh, I'm bringing home a baby turtle
Won't my mommy really pop her girdle
'Cause I'm bringing home a baby turtle
Snappy, snappy, snappy --
(spoken): OOOOH, it bit me!
Oh, I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur
Won't my mommy fall right through the floor
'Cause I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur --
Gobble, gobble, gobble --
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee
Won't my Mommy be surprised at me
(Cup hands together as if holding bee)
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee
Ouch, he stung me
(Shake hands as if just stung)
I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee
Won't my Mommy be surprised at me
('Squish' bee between palms of hands)
I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee
Squish, squish, squish
('Squish' bee between palms of hands)
I'm licking up a baby bumblebee
Won't my Mommy be surprised at me
(Pretend to lick bee off hands)
I'm licking up a baby bumblebee
Slurp, slurp, slurp
(Make slurping sounds)
I'm throwing up a baby bumblebee
Won't my Mommy be surprised at me
(Stick tongue out and look 'sick')
I'm throwing up a baby bumblebee
Blech, blech, blech
(Make awful face)
I'm sweeping up a baby bumblebee
Won't my Mommy be surprised at me
('Sweep' bee up with one hand into the other)
I'm sweeping up a baby bumblebee
Swish, swish, swish
('Sweep' bee up with one hand into the other)
I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur
Won't my Mommy kick me out the door
(Pretend to be carrying heavy dinosaur)
I'm bringing home a baby dinosaur
Imagine the love
Of a child for his toys,
The love of a bird
For its mate,
Imagine the love
Of a miser for gold,
Then imagine a love
Twice as great.
If you multiply each love
A million times more,
It won't be half the love
That a mother has for:
Baby shoes, baby shoes,
Mother will never forget them,
You have forgotten
When your feet were bare,
Mother remembers,
She still has a pair
Of baby shoes, baby shoes,
To keep them,
The world she'd refuse.
If she had to choose,
Her life she would lose,
Before she'd part with her
Baby's shoes.
Baby shoes, baby shoes,
Mother will never forget them,
You have forgotten
When your feet were bare,
Mother remembers,
She still has a pair
Of baby shoes, baby shoes,
To keep them,
The world she'd refuse.
If she had to choose,
Her life she would lose,
Before she'd part with her
Baby's shoes.
Alone in the attic
She fondles those shoes,
And wonders
Where her boy has gone,
And over his shoes
She is saying a pray'r,
That the good Lord
Will keep him from harm.
In her heart
There is gladness,
Tho' her eyes are wet,
Because Mother remembers,
Tho' you may forget:
Baby shoes, baby shoes,
Mother will never forget them,
You have forgotten
When your feet were bare,
Mother remembers,
She still has a pair
Of baby shoes, baby shoes,
To keep them,
The world she'd refuse.
If she had to choose,
Her life she would lose,
Before she'd part with her
Baby's shoes.
Baby shoes, baby shoes,
Mother will never forget them,
You have forgotten
When your feet were bare,
Mother remembers,
She still has a pair
Of baby shoes, baby shoes,
To keep them,
The world she'd refuse.
If she had to choose,
Her life she would lose,
Before she'd part with her
When I was young I use' to wait
On massa an' hand him his plate
An' pass de bottle when he got dry
An' brush away de blue-tail fly
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Ol' Massa's gone away
One day he ride aroun' de farm
De flies so num'rous they did swarm
One chanced to bite him on de thigh
De devil take de blue-tail fly!
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Ol' Massa's gone away
De pony run, he jump he pitch
He threw my Massa in de ditch
He died an' de jury wondered why
De verdict was de blue-tail fly
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Ol' Massa's gone away
They lay him under a simmon tree
His epitaph is there to see --
"Beneath this stone I'm forced to lie --
Victim of de blue-tail fly."
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
Jimmie crack corn an' I don't care
I know that your powers of retention
Are as wet as a warthog's backside
But thick as you are, pay attention
My words are a matter of pride
It's clear from your vacant expressions
The lights are not all on upstairs
But we're talking kings and successions
Even you can't be caught unawares
So prepare for a chance of a lifetime
Be prepared for sensational news
A shining new era
Is tiptoeing nearer
And where do we feature?
Just listen to teacher
I know it sounds sordid
But you'll be rewarded
When at last I am given my dues!
And injustice deliciously squared
Be prepared!
Be prepared for what?
For the death of the king!
Why? Is he sick?
No, you fool, we're going to kill him... and Simba too!
Great idea! Who needs a king?
No king, No king, nah nah nah nah nah nah!
Idiots! There will BE a king!
But you just said...
I will be king!
Stick with me, and you'll never be hungry again!
YEA!!!!!! Long live the king!
It's great that we'll soon be connected
With a king who'll be all-time adored
Of course, quid pro quo, you're expected
To take certain duties on board
The future is littered with prizes
And though I'm the main addressee
The point that I must emphasize is
You won't get a sniff without me
So prepare for the coup of the century
Be prepared for the murkiest scam
(Ooooh!)
Meticulous planning
(We'll have food!)
Tenacity spanning
(Lots of food)
Decades of denial
(We repeat)
Is simply why I'll
(Endless meat)
Be king undisputed
(Aaaaaaaaaah!)
Respected, saluted
(Aaaaaaaaaah!)
And seen for the wonder I am
(Aaaaaaaaaah!)
Yes, my teeth and ambitions are bared
Be prepared!
Yes, our teeth and ambitions are bared
Children of tomorrow
Children of today
Children hear my pray
We must mold this world together
Before it falls apart
We must mold this world together
Before we all go down
The world is crying out her last drops of life
She is changing now, her colors are fading away
Once she lived in pride like a real paradise
But now she's sinking in the rubbish of our kind
The rich get richer
The poor even more poor
The oppressor keeps pressing
So much harder than before
There is no balance between right or wrong
So what are we waiting for?
Say, don't let her fade away
Say, don't let her fall today into tomorrow's crime
The world is crying out her last drops of life
She is changing now, her colors are fading away
Once she lived in pride like a real paradise
But now she's sinking in the rubbish of our kind
Say, don't let her fade away
Say, don't let her fall today into tomorrow's crime
This song is dedicated to the children of tomorrow
This song is dedicated to all who live in sorrow
We must mold this world together
Before it breaks and is lost forever
This song is dedicated to the children of tomorrow
Bounce the ball, bounce the ball,
On the ground, against the wall.
Bounce it low, bounce it high,
Bounce it right up to the sky!
Bounce the ball, bounce the ball,
On the ground, against the wall.
Bounce it here, bounce it there,
Bounce it outside anywhere!
Bounce the ball, bounce the ball,
On the ground, against the wall.
This one rule you must abide:
(Raul Malo)
A child who is raised by an unworthy hand
Has less of a chance being a man
Who will try to remember and then understand
Why a mother would cry
while a husband lay dead
Shot down by a gun of a runaway train
Called life in the fast lane
it all ends the same
Well the same children's lives
they will always regret
Are the children who never forget
A man ends up tired and walking alone
On a street corner singing for a penny a song
What he cannot remember was never his own
That's the answer he gives
when he speaks of his home
Well the streets are my life
I don't know anymore
Where the children's are junkies
and the ladies are whores
Well the same children's lives
they will always regret
Are the children who never forget
Chorus
Goodnight, goodnight sweet child
Why don't you dream with the angels
to forget for awhile
To forget of the life
that's been handed to you
Where everything's real,
yet nothing is true
Well perhaps you can change
what the cards always read
For the children who never forget
For a time they were counting
you out of this race
You stood up like a champion
that had fallen like grace
Never showing the anguish
that had covered your face
You were raped and forgotten
left to die in disgrace
Shot down by a gun of a runaway train
Called life in the fast lane
it all ends the same
Well the same children's lives
they will always regret
Are the children who never forget
Repeat chorus twice
Goodnight, goodnight sweet child
Why don't you dream with the angels
to forget for awhile
Betty Botter bought bum butter
Blah, said she, bum butters bitter.
But it's blended in my batter
And it's made my batter bitter.
If I blend some better butter
Better than the bitter butter
It will make my bitter batter better.
Betty Botter blended better butter
Better than the bitter butter
Put it in the bitter batter
Children we're acting like children instead of like a man and a fullgrown woman
We're acting like babies little bitty babies
And we're about to throw away a lifetime of good good loving
Love is not a game love is not a toy I'm not a little girl and you're not a little boy
But if we're not careful we're gonna destroy
A fairy tale that might have come true
By acting like children little bitty children
And we're about to throw away a lifetime of good good loving
Once upon a time we didn't fight everything was beautiful everything was right
And we make love instead of war every night
And I wanna go back to the good times
Stop acting like children little bitty children
Start acting like a man and a fullgrown woman
We're acting like babies little bitty babies
An apple a day
Sends the doctor away
Apple in the morning
Doctor's warning
Roast apple at night
Starves the doctor outright
Eat an apple going to bed
Knock the doctor on the head
Ain’t it hard to see the children
And to see them having no place to go Lord yeah
Ain’t it hard to reveal them
That it’s so, so hard oh it’s so, so hard to find a
place where there’s love
The tide has been low and the tide has been high
Still I see teardrops but why won’t them dry
Their souls hear them crying their souls they can’t fly
The devil’s hate he broke the wings of their life
Oh please all of your prophets come and teach all your
sheep
The shepherd never said fight until one man a bleed
And the words of the wise they live in charity
Teach the blind and the deaf ‘til them hear and them
Didn’t you know what goes up friend one day it comes
down
Didn’t you know what goes round sure one day it comes
round
Didn’t you know what you bury one day it will grow
Lord I see the trouble come
Ain’t it hard to see the children
And to see them having no place to go Lord yeah
Ain’t it hard to reveal them
That it’s so, so hard oh it’s so, so hard to find a
place where there’s love
And I’m tired of walking the same circle I’ve been
toiling day
And night in my life and I’m of plying the phoney game
Of saying every little thing will gonna be alright and
I’m tired
Of seeing the people acting like they are the great
hero and
I’m bored of people fighting and screaming like sandpit
fools
Oh, oh my Lord
So are the children we love the children we hate
The stoneage’s back heh friend rumours say it didn’t
fade
So all the victims we buried and all the tortured souls
They became zombie angels danger now them coming out
Dread, dread, dread, dread, dread, became this time
And the wild, wild west no it will enter our lines
Lord so mad, mad, mad most of the people got blind
Now they spread, spread ,spread plenty, plenty more
lies
But the deaf and blind won’t hear won’t see
So I and I shedding tear, tear by tear when I say
Ain’t it hard to see the children
And to see them having no place to go Lord yeah
Ain’t it hard to reveal them
That it’s so, so hard oh it’s so, so hard to find a
place where there’s love
And so
Children, children think about the afterlife
Only some of you survive
I wish you the best
Though your load is the heaviest
Children, children jump an run and save your life
Babylon can’t send no light
Cool down meditate
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good
With brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul
In self-control,
Thy liberty in law!
O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success
In nobleness,
And ev'ry gain divine!
O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good
With brotherhood
Casper, the friendly ghost,
The friendliest ghost you know.
Though grown-ups might
Look at him with fright,
The children all love him so.
He always says hello (Hello),
And he's really glad to meetcha.
Wherever he may go,
He's kind to every living creature.
Grown-ups don't understand
Why children love him the most.
But kids all know
That he loves them so,
Jesus walked on water, he turned water into wine
If you believe this to be true that's just fine, just
fine with me
Moses walked the chosen people straight through the Red
If you think you are chosen Brother that's alright with
Are there 72 virgins waiting for you when you're gone?
Are you rocking to Nirvana? Rock on, rock on
But Please don't hurt the children, please lay down the
Please don't send your bombs in and say you're doing
the work of God
Faith is not a weapon. Hate won't set us free
You believe what you believe and that's OK with me
Those aliens inside your head have filled your heart
with fear
So hook yourself to my machine and you'll get clear,
get clear
You can quake and shake your horse and buggy, wear that
little hat.
Or get yourself 100 wives, I'm OK with that
Broken mirrors, tarot cards, black cats, and ESP
You believe what you believe and that's OK with me
But please don't hurt the children, please lay down the
rod.
Please don't send your guns in and say you're doing the
work of god.
Faith is not a weapon. Hate won't set us free
You believe what you believe and that's OK with me
She kissed me in the summer storm, the rain fell from
above
So I believe in nature . I believe in love
And I believe that nine months later I held him on my
knee.
You call that a miracle? Who am I to disagree?
But Please don't hurt the children, please lay down the
Please don't send our Sons and Daughters in and say
you're doing the work of God
Faith is not a weapon. Hate won't set us free
I'm a big grizzly bear
And what do I do?
I curl up and hibernate
The whole winter through.
When the warm sun in spring
Says "Jump out of bed!"
I get up and shake myself,
Then poke out my head.
After sleeping so long,
I'm hungry, it's true!
Better run when you see me,
Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriage
I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet
Upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two
Michael, Michael
Here is your answer true.
I'll not cycle
Over the world with you.
If you can afford a carriage,
There won't be any marriage.
'Cause I'll be damned,
If I'll be crammed

"Yonder comes my beau!"
Bile dat cabbage down
Bake dat hoe-cake brown
Craziest song I ever heard,
Bile dat cabbage down.
Took my gal to the blacksmith shop
To have her mouth made small;
She turned around a time or two
And swallowed shop and all.
Bile dat cabbage down
Bake dat hoe-cake brown
Craziest song I ever heard,
Bile dat cabbage down.
Possum in a 'simmon tree,
Raccoon on the ground,
Raccoon says, "You son-of-a-gun,
Shake some 'simmons down!"
Bile dat cabbage down
Bake dat hoe-cake brown
Craziest song I ever heard,
Bile dat cabbage down.
Someone stole my hunting dog,
Wish they'd bring him back,
He chased the big hogs through the fence
And the little ones through the crack.
Bile dat cabbage down
Bake dat hoe-cake brown
Craziest song I ever heard,
Bile dat cabbage down.
Met a possum in the road,
Blind as he could be,
Jumped the fence and whipped my dog
And bristled up at me.
Bile dat cabbage down
Bake dat hoe-cake brown
Craziest song I ever heard,
Bile dat cabbage down.
Once I had an old gray mule,
His name was Simon Slick,
He'd roll his eyes and back his ears,
And how that mule would kick!
Bile dat cabbage down
Bake dat hoe-cake brown
Craziest song I ever heard,
Bile dat cabbage down.
There's gold up in them there hills,
I know it for the truth,
For my gal fell up there
And lost her new front tooth.
Bile dat cabbage down
Bake dat hoe-cake brown
Craziest song I ever heard,
Oh, where have you been,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Oh, where have you been,
Charming Billy?
I have been to seek a wife,
She's the joy of my life,
She's a young thing
And cannot leave her mother.
Did she ask you to come in,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Did she ask you to come in,
Charming Billy?
Yes, she asked me to come in,
There's a dimple in her chin.
She's a young thing
And cannot leave her mother.
Can she make a cherry pie,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she make a cherry pie,
Charming Billy?
She can make a cherry pie,
Quick as a cat can wink an eye,
She's a young thing
And cannot leave her mother.
How old is she,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
How old is she,
Charming Billy?
Three times six and four times seven,
Twenty-eight and eleven,
She's a young thing
One rainy morning
Without any warning
A large umbrella crossed the street
Big, black and shiny
Covering someone tiny
And all that we could see were two small feet
In and out the traffic
Dodging here and there
That umbrella went with a Don't-Care air
I said in wonder
Who is that down under
Hugging that umbrella like a teddy bear
Horns started blaring
Everyone was staring
At that strange object in the street
Big black and shiny
Covering someone tiny
And all that we could see were two small feet
Then a young policeman
Called out from his beat
"That umbrella there has a boy down deep"
He swooped down under
Pulled out Billy Blunder
Just a tiny truant from his morning's sleep
Now Billy Blunder
Who was once down under
Recites by heart his safety code
"When you are out

Oh, where have you been,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Oh, where have you been,
Charming Billy?
I have been to seek a wife,
She's the idol of my life.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Where does she live,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Oh, where does she live?
Charming Billy?
She lives on the hill,
Forty miles from the mill.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Did she bid you to come in,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Did she bid you to come in,
Charming Billy?
Yes, she bade me to come in,
And to kiss her on the chin.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Did she take your hat,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Did she take your hat,
Charming Billy?
Yes, she took my hat,
And she threw it at the cat.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Did she set for you a chair,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Did she set for you a chair,
Charming Billy?
Yes, she set for me a chair,
But the bottom wasn't there.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Can she bake a cherry pie,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she bake a cherry pie,
Charming Billy?
She can bake a cherry pie,
Quick's a cat can wink her eye.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Can she make a feather bed,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she make a feather bed,
Charming Billy?
She can make a feather bed,
That will rise above your head.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Can she milk a heifer calf,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she milk a heifer calf,
Charming Billy?
Yes, she can, and not miss
The bucket more than half.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Is she often seen at church,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Is she often seen at church,
Charming Billy?
Yes, she's often seen at church,
With a bonnet white as birch.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
And is she very tall,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
And is she very tall,
Charming Billy?
She's as tall as any pine,
And as straight as a pumpkin vine.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Are her eyes very bright,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Are her eyes very bright,
Charming Billy?
Yes, her eyes are very bright,
But, alas, they're minus sight.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
Can she sing a pretty song,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she sing a pretty song,
Charming Billy?
She can sing a pretty song,
But she often sings it wrong.
She's a young thing,
And cannot leave her mother.
How old may she be,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
How old may she be,
Charming Billy?
Three times six and four times seven,
Twenty eight and eleven,
She's a young thing,
How many candles
Will the birthday girl/boy take?
How many candles
On her/his birthday cake?
(Then choose one of the following verses,
adapted as necessary to fit the child's age)
Three, or four?
Then one more!
Five little candles
On her/his birthday cake!
Three, or four?
Not one more!
Four little candles
On her/his birthday cake!
Six, or seven
Will he take?
Seven little candles
On her/his birthday cake!
One, or two?
That will do!
Two little candles

Here we sit like birds in the wilderness
Waiting for our food
Here we sit like birds in the wilderness
Birds in the wilderness
Birds in the wilderness
Here we sit like birds in the wilderness
Waiting for our soup
Here we sit like birds in the wilderness
Birds in the wilderness
Birds in the wilderness
Here we sit like birds in the wilderness
Waiting for our bread
Here we sit like birds in the wilderness

Three blind mice,
Three blind mice
See how they run,
See how they run!
They all ran after
The farmer's wife
She cut off their tails
With a carving knife
Did you ever see
Such a sight in your life
As three blind mice?
The wheels on the bus go round and round
Round and round, round and round
The wheels on the bus go round and round
All through the town.
(Roll hands over each other)
The wipers on the bus go "Swish, swish, swish,
Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish"
The wipers on the bus go "Swish, swish, swish"
All through the town.
(Put arms together in front of you and
'swish' like windshield wipers)
The door on the bus goes open and shut
Open and shut, open and shut
The door on the bus goes open and shut
All through the town.
(Cover eyes with hands on 'shut' and
uncover them on 'open')
The horn on the bus goes "Beep, beep, beep
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep"
The horn on the bus goes "Beep, beep, beep"
All through the town.
(Pretend to honk horn)
The gas on the bus goes "Glug, glug, glug
Glug, glug, glug, glug, glug, glug"
The gas on the bus goes "Glug, glug, glug"
All through the town.
(Pretend to fill tank using pointer finger as gas nozzle)
The money on the bus goes "Clink, clink, clink,
Clink, clink, clink, clink, clink, clink"
The money on the bus goes "Clink, clink, clink"
All through the town.
(Pretend to put money in cash box on bus)
The baby on the bus says, "Wah, wah, wah!
Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah!"
The baby on the bus says, "Wah, wah, wah!"
All through the town.
(Fisted hands in front of eyes
and rub them like baby crying)
The people on the bus say, "Shh, shh, shh,
Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh"
The people on the bus say, "Shh, shh, shh"
All through the town.
(Put pointer finger to mouth to 'shhh')
The mommy on the bus says, "I love you,
I love you, I love you"
The daddy on the bus says, "I love you, too"
All through the town.
(Point to self on 'I',
right hand over heart on 'love', and
There's a place where the birds sing bass (base)
Rabbits laugh in a bulldog's face
Trains don't stop at my home town
'Cause woodpeckers knocked the depot down
There the girls grow tall and slim,
The boys grow whiskers on their chin,
Their ears grow out and their toes turn in,
Out in that Western town
Folks don't stay out very late
Way out West in Kansas,
They take the sidewalks in at eight
Way out West in Kansas
It's some town, by heck, I'll swear,
You can stand in the old town square
And knock on ev... er... y front door
Way out West in Kansas
Additional Verses
I know a couple, man and wife
Way out west in Kansas
They sit out on their porch at night
Way out west in Kansas
They sit out on the porch at night
And hold each others' hands so tight
If one turns loose they start to fight
Way out west in Kansas
The sun's so hot that eggs will hatch,
Way out west in Kansas;
It popped the corn in a popcorn patch,
Way out west in Kansas.
An old mule coming down the path,
Saw the corn and lost his breath.
Thought it was snow and froze to death,
The sons of the prophet were hardy and bold,
And quite unaccustomed to fear,
But the bravest of these was a man, I am told
Named Abdul Abulbul Amir.
This son of the desert, in battle aroused,
Could spit twenty men on his spear.
A terrible creature, both sober and soused
Was Abdul Abulbul Amir.
When they needed a man to encourage the van,
Or to harass the foe from the rear,
Or to storm a redoubt, they had only to shout
For Abdul Abulbul Amir.
There are heroes aplenty and men known to fame
In the troops that were led by the Czar;
But the bravest of these was a man by the name
Of Ivan Skavinsky Skivar.
He could imitate Irving, play Euchre and pool
And perform on the Spanish Guitar.
In fact, quite the cream of the Muscovite team
Was Ivan Skavinsky Skivar.
The ladies all loved him, his rivals were few;
He could drink them all under the bar.
As gallant or tank, there was no one to rank
With Ivan Skavinsky Skivar.
One day this bold Russian had shouldered his gun
And donned his most truculent sneer
Downtown he did go, where he trod on the toe
Of Abdul Abulbul Amir
"Young man," quoth Bulbul, "has life grown so dull,
That you're anxious to end your career?
Vile infidel! Know, you have trod on the toe
Of Abdul Abulbul Amir."
"So take your last look at the sunshine and brook
And send your regrets to the Czar;
By this I imply you are going to die,
Mr. Ivan Skavinsky Skivar."
Quoth Ivan, "My friend, your remarks, in the end,
Will avail you but little, I fear,
For you ne'er will survive to repeat them alive,
Mr. Abdul Abulbul Amir!"
Then this bold mameluke drew his trusty chibouque
With a cry of "Allah Akbar!"
And with murderous intent, he ferociously went
For Ivan Skavinsky Skivar.
They parried and thrust and they side-stepped and cussed
'Till their blood would have filled a great pot.
The philologist blokes, who seldom crack jokes,
Say that hash was first made on that spot.
They fought all that night, 'neath the pale yellow moon;
The din, it was heard from afar;
And great multitudes came, so great was the fame
of Abdul and Ivan Skivar.
As Abdul's long knife was extracting the life -
In fact, he was shouting "Huzzah!" - -
He felt himself struck by that wily Kalmuck,
Count Ivan Skavinsky Skivar.
The sultan drove by in his red-breasted fly,
Expecting the victor to cheer;
But he only drew nigh to hear the last sigh
Of Abdul Abulbul Amir.
Czar Petrovich, too, in his spectacles blue
Rode up in his new crested car.
He arrived just in time to exchange a last line
With Ivan Skavinsky Skivar.
A loud-sounding splash from the Danube was heard
Resounding o'er meadows afar;
It came from the sack fitting close to the back
Of Ivan Skavinsky Skovar.
There's a tomb rises up where the blue Danube flows;
Engraved there in characters clear;
"Ah stranger, when passing, please pray for the soul
Of Abdul Abulbul Amir."
A Muscovite maiden her lone vigil keeps,
'Neath the light of the pale polar star;
And the name that she murmurs as oft as she weeps
Way down in the Congoland
Lived a happy chimpanzee.
She loved a monkey with long tail
(Lordy, how she loved him!)
Each night he would find her there,
Swinging in the cocoanut tree,
And the monkey gay,
At the break of day,
Loved to hear his Chimpie say:
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
Then the big baboon one night in June,
He married them and very soon,
They went upon their aba, daba honeymoon.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
One night they were made man and wife,
And now they cry, "This is the life,"
Since they came from their aba, daba honeymoon.
Well, you should have heard that band
Play upon their wedding day,
Each Chimp and Monkey had nutshells
(Lordy, how they played them)
And now it is ev'ry night,
High up in the cocoanut tree.
It's the same old thing,
With the same old swing,
When the Monk and Chimpie sing:
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
Then the big baboon one night in June,
He married them and very soon,
They went upon their aba, daba honeymoon.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,

Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,

Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.

One night they were made man and wife,
And now they cry, "This is the life,"
Adam was a gardener
And Eve, she was his spouse,
They lost their jobs by stealing fruit
And went to keeping house.
There it was a quiet one
And peaceful in the main,
Until they had a baby boy and
Went to raising Cain.
Young folks, old folks,
Everybody come.
Come on o'er to our place
And make yourself at home.
But please check your chewing gum
And razors at the door,
We'll tell you Bible stories
That you never heard before.
Esau was a farmer of a
Wild and woolly make;
His daddy gave him half the farm
And half to Brother Jake;
But Esau saw that his title,
It wasn't very clear,
So he sold his half to Brother Jake
And said he didn't 'keer.'
Young folks, old folks,
Everybody come.
Come on o'er to our place
And make yourself at home.
But please check your chewing gum
And razors at the door,
We'll tell you Bible stories
That you never heard before.
Daniel was a smartypants who
Wouldn't obey the King;
The King got mad and said he wouldn't
Stand for such a thing;
He chucked him down a manhole
With lions underneath,
But Daniel was a dentist, and
He pulled the lions' teeth.
Young folks, old folks,
Everybody come.
Come on o'er to our place
And make yourself at home.
But please check your chewing gum
And razors at the door,
We'll tell you Bible stories
That you never heard before.
Jonah was an emigrant,
So tells the Bible tale;
He bought a one-way ticket on
A trans-Atlantic whale;
But the whale's interior
Was cramped, at very best,
So Jonah pressed the button -- and
The whale, he did the rest.
Young folks, old folks,
Everybody come.
Come on o'er to our place
And make yourself at home.
But please check your chewing gum
And razors at the door,
We'll tell you Bible stories
Abraham Lincoln,
Kind and true,
You did the best
A man could do,
With your example,
All hail! To dear old Texas A and M,
Rally around Maroon and White;
Good luck to the dear ol Texas Aggies,
They are the ones who show the real ol fight.
That good old Aggie spirit thrills us,
And makes us yell and yell and yell
So lets fight for dear old Texas A and M,
Were goin to beat you all to
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem! Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem!
Rough! Tough! Real Stuff! Texas A and M.
Good-bye to Texas University,
So long to the Orange and the White;
Good luck to the dear ol Texas Aggies,
They are the boys who show the real ol fight.
"The eyes of Texas are up-on you,"
That is the song they sing so well;
So good-bye to Texas University,
Were goin to beat you all to
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem! Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem!

I found a little beetle, so that beetle was his name,
And I called him Alexander and he answered just the same.
I put him in a matchbox, and I kept him all the day...
And Nanny let my beetle out
Yes, Nanny let my beetle out
She went and let my beetle out-
And beetle ran away.
She said she didn't mean it, and I never sauid she did,
She said she wanted matches, and she just took off the lid
She said that she was sorry, but it's difficult to catch
An excited sort of beetle you've mistaken for a match.
She said that she was sorry, and I really mustn't mind
As there's lots and lots of beetles which she's certain we could find
If we looked about the garden for the holes where beetles hid-
And we'd get another matchbox, and write BEETLE on the lid.
We went to all the places which a beetle might be near,
And we made the sort of noises which a beetle likes to hear,
And I saw a kind of something, and I gave a sort of shout:
"A beetle-house and Alexander Beetle coming out!"
It was Alexander Beetle I'm as certain as can be
And he had a sort of look as if he thought it might be ME,
And he had a kind of look as if he thought he ought to say:
"I'm very, very sorry that I tried to run away."
And Nanny's very sorry too, for you know what she did,
And she's writing ALEXANDER very blackly on the lid,
So Nan and me are friends, because it's difficult to catch

I stopped and watched him go.
At first he hopped,
And then he stopped,
And then he looked at me;
Then hopped, hopped hopped
Across the snow

She sat on the ground.

And he shall have pussy-cat
Tied to one side;

Tied to the other,

Children, I know
You deserve, more than this world could ever give
Hold on, take your life
Hold on to each reality
They seem so far from you
But really they're close to you
You've got to break each precious dream
Until it breaks you heart in two
Build your life until you find
What's right for you

Don't let them take it all

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
May the skies be blue,
May the sunshine follow you
The birthday candles now we'll light,
One for every year.
Then you make a wish and blow them out,
The night is dark, the wind is high,
Now the Black Shadows come creeping by!
Making a strange, dreadful moaning cry!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo!
A witch, perhaps, will pull your hair,
Maybe a ghost will give you a scare!
But of the Shadows you must beware!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo!
A Jack-o'Lantern stares at you,
Around the corner, you hear a "Boo!"
Will those Black Shadows come after you?
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo!
Now if a Shadow deep and black,
Should try to grab you and then attack,
You must run quickly, and don't look back!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo!
The night is dark, the wind is high,
Now the Black Shadows come creeping by!
Making a strange, dreadful moaning cry!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
Ooooooo! Ooooooo!
I had a little boy,
And called him Blue Bell;
Gave him a little work, --
He did it very well.
I bade him go upstairs
To bring me a gold pin;
In coal scuttle fell he,
Up to his little chin.
He went to the garden
To pick a little sage;
He tumbled on his nose,
And fell into a rage.
He went to the cellar
To draw a little beer;
And quickly did return
A big birthday cake
On the table for me,
With three* pretty candles ablaze.
I'll share it, I will,
With my family and friends,
Oh! birthdays are wonderful days!
Refrain:
Biscuits in the oven, gonna watch 'em rise
Biscuits in the oven, gonna watch 'em rise
Biscuits in the oven, gonna watch 'em rise
Right before my very eyes.
When they get ready, gonna jump and shout...
Roll my eyes and bug them out-hey, hey
Gonna clap my hands and stomp my feet...
Right before the very next beat-
Refrain
Gonna look both ways when I cross the street...
A horse and a flea and three blind mice
Sat on a curbstone shooting dice
The horse he slipped and fell on the flea
"Whoops," said the flea, "There's a horse on me!"
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish the whole day through
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Way down South where bananas grow
A flea stepped on an elephant's toe
The elephant cried, with tears in his eyes
"Why don't you pick on someone your own size?"
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish the whole day through
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Way up North where there's ice and snow
There lived a penguin and his name was Joe
He got so tired of black and white
He wore pink slacks to the dance last night!
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish the whole day through
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Eli, Eli had some socks
A dollar a pair and a nickel a box
The more you wear 'em the better they get
And you put 'em in the water and they don't get wet!
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish the whole day through
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Called myself on the telephone
Just to hear that golden tone
Asked myself out for a date
Said be ready 'bout half-past eight!
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish the whole day through
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Took myself to the picture show
Sat myself on the very last row
Wrapped my arms around my waist
Got so fresh I slapped my face!
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Boom, boom, ain't it great to be crazy?
Giddy and foolish the whole day through
Born on Monday,
Fair in face;
Born on Tuesday,
Full of God's grace;
Born on Wednesday,
Sour and sad;
Born on Thursday,
Merry and glad;
Born on Friday,
Worthily given;
Born on Saturday,
Work hard for your living;
Born on Sunday,
Nighttime comes with shadows trailing;
Baby's eyes are open wide,
Watching what the twilight pale
Hides behind her purple veil.
Sleep and rest, sleep and rest,
Momma knows that sleep is best.
Sleep shall take you where the lilies
Star the quiet pool with light,
Where the winds are whistling mild,
Glad to greet a weary child.
Sleep and rest, sleep and rest,
I would not have the shoemaker,
For all his work at the shoes,
But I would have the bonny boy
Who wears the tarry clothes.
For he walks upon the plain stones,
He sails upon the sea,
He wears a coat and a hairy cap,
It's a sailor -he loves me!
I would not have the blacksmith,
For all his work in the smithy,
But I would have the bonny boy
Who has my heart already.
A sailor, he loves me, ma boys,
A sailor he loves me;
And if I live another year
Children shut your eyes
We'll tell you what to see
This world is burning down
And you're the ones to lead
Now look into their hearts
All those who hold the lead
Don't listen to their lies
They only want one thing
Well, I only want one thing
They'll rob you from the truth
And they'll steal you from our house
The blind leading the blind
Don't hang around with their kind
'Cause I love the life I lead
And I know my enemies
Well, if God is on our side
Well, that's all you really need
Well, that's all we really need
Well, that's all I really need
Follow down the road
I was led before you were born
No it's not your choice
To pick your own fight
When you sitting second class
And as long as you're in control
Speaking when you're asked
You make your own stand
And you take your own stand
Well, I'll make my own stand

Five little turkeys standing in a row. (Hold up 5 fingers)
First little turkey said, I don't want to grow. (Hold up 1 finger)
Second little turkey said, Why do you say that? (Hold up 2 fingers)
Third little turkey said, I want to get fat. (Hold up 3 fingers)
Fourth little turkey said, Thanksgiving is near. (Hold up 4 fingers)
Fifth little turkey said, Yes, that's what I hear. (Hold up 5 fingers)
Then the five little turkeys that were standing in a row,
Just a boy and a girl in a little canoe
With the moon shining all around
As he glides his paddle
You couldn't even hear a sound
And they talked and they talked
Till the moon grew dim
He said you better kiss me
Or get out and swim
So what you gonna do in a little canoe
With the moon shinin' all a--
Boats floatin all a--
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a fox and put him in a box
And then we'll let him go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a fish and put him on a dish
And then we'll let him go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a bear and cut his hair
And then we'll let him go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a pig and dance a little jig
And then we'll let him go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a giraffe and make him laugh
Lullaby, twilight is spreading
Silver wings over the sky;
Fairy elves are softly treading,
Folding buds as they pass by.
Lullaby, whisper and sigh,
Lullaby, lullaby.
Lullaby, deep in the clover
Drone the bees softly to rest;
Close white lids your dear eyes over,
Mother's arms shall be your rest.
Lullaby, whisper and sigh,
A canner exceedingly canny,
One morning remarked to his granny:
A canner can can anything that he can,
But a canner can't can a can, can he?
There was a young man so benighted,
He didn't know when he was slighted,
But went to the party and ate just as hearty
A-tisket a-tasket
A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it
I dropped it, I dropped it
And on the way I dropped it
A little boy (girl) picked it up
Little ones at play
Went out one summer's day,
They went out a-walking
Just for fun-fun-fun.
But when they stopped to rest,
The first were served the best.
They found them seats a-plenty
All but one-one-one.
Goodbye! Goodbye!
We're very, very sorry that
You have to go away.
Goodbye! Goodbye!
Please come with us a-walking
A-B-C-D-E-F-G,
Jesus died for you and me
H-I-J-K-L-M-N,
Jesus died for sinful men, AMEN!
O-P-Q-R-S-T-U,
I believe God's word is true,
V-W,
God has promised you
X-Y-Z,
A home eternally.
(UK version - to rhyme with zed!)

One time we went a-fishing,
Fishing, fishing,
One time we went a-fishing
On a summer day.
And Becky caught a minnow,
Justin caught a frog!
Megan dragged a crab out
From underneath a log.
The fish I caught was THAT big!
THAT big! THAT big!
The fish I caught was THAT big!
(Pause and indicate the size of the fish)
The Children of slaves lied down like pavers
Rotten streets of gold
The Children of god reached up in prayer
Despotic towers of old
The children of swine shook hands to wager
Sold souls for golden gates
The Children of sadists voted all in favor
There's something happening here
What it is aint exactly clear
But there's a man with a gun over there
And he's telling me i got to beware
I think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
The battle lines have been drawn
Nobody's right - when everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
But carrying so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field day for the beast
One thousand people in the streets
Singing songs and carrying signs
Some that say "hooray for our side"
Oh lord
I think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
It cuts into your soul when you sleep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step outta line, the man comes
And takes you away
I think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound
Oh, once upon a time in Arkansas,
An old man sat in his little cabin door
And fiddled at a tune that he liked to hear,
A jolly old tune that he played by ear.
It was raining hard, but the fiddler didn't care,
He sawed away at the popular air,
Tho' his rooftree leaked like a waterfall,
That didn't seem to bother the man at all.
A traveler was riding by that day,
And stopped to hear him a-practicing away;
The cabin was a-float and his feet were wet,
But still the old man didn't seem to fret.
So the stranger said "Now the way it seems to me,"
You'd better mend your roof," said he.
But the old man said as he played away,
"I couldn't mend it now, it's a rainy day."
The traveler replied, "That's all quite true,
But this, I think, is the thing to do;
Get busy on a day that is fair and bright,
Then patch the old roof till it's good and tight."
But the old man kept on a-playing at his reel,
And tapped the ground with his leathery heel.
"Get along," said he, "for you give me a pain;
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one,
The little one stops to suck his thumb
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching two by two,
The little one stops to tie his shoe
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching three by three,
The little one stops to climb a tree
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching four by four,
The little one stops to shut the door
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching five by five, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching five by five, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching five by five,
The little one stops to take a dive
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching six by six, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching six by six, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching six by six,
The little one stops to pick up sticks
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching seven by seven, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching seven by seven, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching seven by seven,
The little one stops to pray to heaven
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching eight by eight, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching eight by eight, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching eight by eight,
The little one stops to shut the gate
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching nine by nine, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching nine by nine, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching nine by nine,
The little one stops to check the time
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching ten by ten, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching ten by ten, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching ten by ten,
The little one stops to say "THE END"
And they all go marching down to the ground
I went to the animal fair
All the birds and the beasts were there
The big baboon by the light of the moon
Was combing his auburn hair.
You should have seen the monk
He sat on the elephant's trunk
The elephant sneezed and fell on his knees
And what became of the monk,
The monk, the monk, the monk,
I went to the animal fair,
The birds and the beasts were there,
The big baboon by the light of the moon
Was combing his auburn hair,
The monkey bumped the skunk,
And sat on the elephant's trunk;
The elephant sneezed and fell to his knees,
And that was the end of the monk,
The monk, the monk, the monk,
Thank you for all that you do.
You make us feel so special, and very lucky.
We're glad that you are here,
We couldn't do without you that's the truth!
And so we say that we appreciate you,
[Children:]
There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say "cuckoo"
[Marta, Gretl, Brigitta:]
Cuckoo, cuckoo
[Children: Marta, Gretl, Brigitta: ]
Regretfully they tell us Cuckoo, cuckoo
But firmly they compel us Cuckoo, cuckoo
To say goodbye . . .
[Marta, Gretl, Brigitta:]
Cuckoo!
[Children:]
. . . to you
[Children:]
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
[Marta:]
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight
[Children:]
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu
[Friedrich:]
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu
[Children:]
So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
[Liesl:]
I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne
[Children:]
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
[Kurt:]
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye -- Goodbye!
[Brigitta:]
I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie
[Louisa:]
I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly
[Gretl:]
The sun has gone to bed and so must I
[Children:]
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
[Guests:]
You won't get far little punk cos I bust pure rhymes,
I tear up bars like a drunk on a bus tour I'm,
The hideous, insidious, super fly Suffa,
Ignorance is bliss and you're a happy motherfucker,
Sucker rock a set; I'm like Bobba Fett with intellect,
I'm everywhere you go like porno on the Internet,
You don't wanna step, trust me, you been warned,
You don't wanna play leapfrog with a unicorn,
Leave you torn; you couldn't battle me with that lame rhyme,
You couldn't come hard with two women at the same time,
You walk in the club dipped in jewels and versace,
Only gay guys wear that much gold, ask Liberace,
MCs act arrogant, I wonder why,
If your skills matched your ego you'd be eating humble pie,
Your rhymes are more average than your girlfriend's looks,

Shew, fly, don't bother me,
Shew, fly, don't bother me,
Shew, fly, don't bother me,
For I belong to somebody.
I feel, I feel,
I feel like a morning star,
I feel, I feel,

We're coming from far, over oceans of time
We're coming from places we once left behind
We're looking for love, in the heart of every man
We're looking for reasons we'll all understand
We are in need, we want a place for everyone
We shine through love, we are the children of the sun
We follow our dreams and we'll never stop
We follow our hopes and we'll never give up
Until we have found the warmth of the sun
Until we are one
We are in need, we want a place for everyone
We shine through love
We are forever on the run.
We are in need, we want a place for everyone
We shine through love, we are the children of the sun
We're coming from far, over oceans of time
We're coming from places we once left behind
We're looking for love, in the heart of every man
We're looking for reasons we'll all understand
We follow our dreams and we'll never stop
We follow our hopes and we'll never give up
Until we have found the warmth of the sun
Until we are one, the children of the sun.
We shine
Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o'er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains:
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heav'nly song?
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing
Come adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord, the newborn King
Gloria in excelsis Deo
All night, all day,
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
All night, all day,
Angels watching over me.
Sun is a-setting in the West;
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
Sleep my child, take your rest;
Angels watching over me.
All night, all day,
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
All night, all day,
Angels guard your little bed,
Darling one, tonight.
Hover 'round your pretty head,
'Til the morning light.
Softly, twilight shadows fall,
As you close your eyes;
Sleep until the birdie's call,
Wakes you at sunrise.
Oh, angels guard your little bed,
Darling one tonight,
Hover 'round your pretty head,
Angels from the realms of glory
Wing your flight o'er all the earth
Ye who sang creation's story
Now proclaim Messiah's birth
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King
Shepherds in the fields abiding
Watching o'er your flocks by night
God with man is now residing
Yonder shines the infant Light
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King
Sages, leave your contemplations
Brighter visions beam afar
Seek the great desire of nations
Ye have seen Him natal star
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ, the newborn King
Saints before the altar bending
Watching long in hope and fear
Suddenly the Lord descending
In His temple shall appear
Come and worship, come and worship
The sky to-day is like a naughty child:
At first 'twas bright and gay, the sunshine smiled.
Then clouds so gray along the sky were piled,
It wept it's tears away with sobbings wild.
And so all day it ever cried and smiled.
The sun comes out, the sun goes in,
The raindrops halt and march;
And when you're sure of damp and ark
Up comes the rainbow's arch.
Then, when you're sure of sun and shine,
Down comes the pouring rain!
The weather swings from fair to foul,
From foul to fair again.
There's neither rhyme nor reason here,
There's neither rhyme nor rule.
It's evident the April day
Tramp, tramp, tramp,
The bugs are marching,
Up and down my tent they crawl;
Some are red and some are black,
And of spiders, there's no lack,
Children go run and jump and play you'll be men and women some day
Then you'll have to leave your world of make believe now children
Young carefree children
Children need someone to understand children need someone to hold their hands yeah
To cheer you when you're sad to spank you when you're bad
Now children haughty naughty children
Ride goes before destruction the Holy Spirit goes before the fall
Don't you know that we're all children and it's all for one and one for all
Oh children call each other names children playing grown up games
And the thing that's really sad we lose the faith we had
When we were children loud proud children
were children clowns proud children
Children who think that they are grown children with children of their own
From the cradle to the grave why must we all behave like children
