A takeoff like this seems spectacular, but is also very dangerous. At each takeoff a safety speed is calculated: V1. Before reaching V1 you can safely stop the aircraft on the runway. After V1 you will have to continue the takeoff no matter what. This is because it is safer to get the damaged aircraft in the air than to try and stop it on a short runway. Just imagine what will happen to this jet when an engine fails... Despite all that the IL-86 is one of the safest airliners around, with only one fatal accident. www.jetvideos.net

Flight from Sheremetyevo to Pulkovo on IL-86 aircraft. The story of this project has began approximately 4 years ago, when enthusiastic modeller Dmitry Samborski has made the visual model of IL-86. Some time later, another enthusiast - Sergey Dubovitsky began to work with flight dynamics of this aircraft. But during the long time this aircraft was not popular in the FS community, because there was no good panel for it. And some time ago from the moment Stepan Gritsevsky (PT member, designer of PT Tu-154 panel) began making the panel for IL-86. And now you can see the early beta version (0.02) of IL-86 aircraft for FS2004. And this video is dedicated to it. Enjoy!
