Celso Dias dos Santos better known as Celso, (born February 28, 1956 in Santos (Sao Paulo)) is a former Brazilian footballer who played for FC Porto and was part of their European Cup victory in 1987.
Celso played as a central defender and joined Porto when moving to Europe from his hometown club of Santos Futebol Clube. In the 1986-7 season he scored 3 goals for Porto en route to their victory in the European Cup, despite playing as a defender. Celso was brought to Portugal in 1985 as a centre-forward and was a noted long-range free-kick expert before being converted to a defender for Porto.
In November 1987 Celso was named in the World Soccer World XI despite not having been capped at international level.
Celso Borges Mora (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈθelso ˈβorxes]; born 27 May 1988 in San José, Costa Rica) is a Costa Rican professional footballer currently playing for AIK in Allsvenskan. Primarily a striker, he has occasionally operated as a midfielder in the national team.
His father is Alexandre Guimarães. a Brazilian-born, Costa Rican-raised ex-footballer and coach. He was born in Costa Rica's capital city San José and during his highschool years he attended Sistema Educativo Saint Clare Highschool, where he also took part in the school's team. His studies were often interrupted by his football training and playing outside the country.
At the age of 18, Borges made his professional debut for Saprissa on January 15, 2006. He won three national championships with Saprissa.
On January 18, 2009 Fredrikstad FK sporting director Tor-Kristian Karlsen confirmed that Celso had signed for them, joining on 1 July when Borges's contract expires. Fredrikstad later agreed to pay 1 million kroner (125 000 €) to Deportivo Saprissa so Borges could join the team immediately and play for Fredrikstad, when the season started on April 14, against the former league champion Stabæk. In March 2011, Borges stated he would leave Fredrikstad during or after the 2011 season.
Celso Piña (b. April 6, 1953) is a professional singer, composer, arranger, and accordionist mainly in the genre of cumbia.
Celso Piña is a pioneer in the mixture and fusion of tropical sounds with many of his works having elements of musica norteña, sonidero, ska, reggae, rap/hip-hop, R&B, etc. Piña is also known as El Rebelde del acordeón or the Cacique de la Campana.
Piña started playing music in his small town with his brothers Eduardo, Rubén and Enrique. Together they would go to several homes and perform for local citizens, especially teenage girls from their neighborhood.
In 1980, Celso Piña bought his first accordion and was introduced to the world of cumbia. He spent numerous hours of practice and work in the popular district of Colonia Independencia, south of the city of Monterrey, Mexico. Having lived for a majority of his life there, he titled one of his songs Mi colonia Independencia, which is located at the heavily populated area of Cerro de la Campana at Monterrey.
Piña's group decided to change their musical rhythm to encompass a more tropical style during the mid 1980s after having seen Aníbal Velásquez and Alfredo Gutiérrez in concert at "Baile de las Cintas (reproducción of música mediante cintas)". The group decided to switch into the genre of cumbia, and became what today is Celso Piña y su Ronda Bogotá.
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship, worship, worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
Gaze into His eyes, fantasize the last days
The last phase of God?s untouchable plan
Until then, worship His name
Through this black pen, writin? raps
Or anyway that I can, still praisin? God
'Cause that?s the way that I am, you might call me odd
But that?s aight, we are Souljahz of the Lord
And we are ready to fight, neva will we eva stop
We love Jesus from the bottom of our hearts to the top
Pumpin? God?s blood through our veins
Handcuffed to Jesus Christ and feet shackled in chains
And we don?t wanna be free, we just wanna see
The Savior and Creator of the heavens and seas
G?s not necessary because we
Only need two knees to bow down and worship G O D
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship, worship, worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
When I come through I?m breakin? buildings
And I?m makin? walls fall
Sit back and relax 'cause we got more in store for y?all
So listen up and listen good
We gotta praise God through our whole neighborhood
I should slow it down, so you can understand
What this flow is all about
And we can break down these sounds and take time to meditate
On the word of God so your wisdom can escalate
When you gonna put your foot down, take a note now
Acceptin? God is your only hope now
Reach down, deep down in your heart
You talk the talk but do you walk the walk?
You say you love God but do you really love God?
Will you still love God when situations get hard?
Or will you walk away, or will you get down and pray
And worship the Lord almighty like we?
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship, worship, worship)
Workin? on really servin? Him in praise
(Worship)
The Lord almighty
Ain?t it odd people take God so lightly, check it
Satan is waitin? to fight me and you might say
That I?m dumb for walkin? away, I chose the right way
Despite the obstacles that stand
In my way don?t play praise God with two hands
Lift 'em up to the sky, head to the ground
Every knee will bow down, to Jesus don?t play around
And if you say you found God then prove it
Profess it with yo tongue you gotta mouth, son use it
Jesus is the name above all names
Forget a famous superstar, God possess all fame
He posses all thing around me, around me
Word, His Holy words neva seize to astound me
You've walked this road so many times
And you swore you knew your way
But now you're looking in persuasive eyes
And you don't know what to say
When he tells you he loves you
When he tells you he needs you
When he says it feels so right
It can't be wrong
When he says it's the right time
That everything's gonna be just fine
Still you know where your heart belongs
So believe that
True love waits don't let anyone change your ways
Look 'em all straight in the face
And tell 'em, "No matter what
I'll remain the same
Don't want to be deceived
See I've found the key
Can't you see that I believe, I believe?
That true love waits for me, waits for me
You've told yourself you've been here before
You see her face and then you open the door
Now it's up to you so whatcha gonna do?
You love her with a smile then you love her with a kiss
Somehow you both knew that it would come to this
Is it really worth it?
When she tells you she loves you
When she tells you she needs you
But in your heart you still believe
True love waits don't let anyone change your ways
Look 'em all straight in the face
And tell 'em, "No matter what
I'll remain the same"
Don't want to be deceived
See I've found the key
Can't you see that I believe, I believe?
That true love waits for me, waits for me
And true love would say
"I'll meet you there if you'll wait"
And true love would say, would say
"If you wait for me I'll wait for you my love, my love"
True love waits and you gotta keep the faith
With God you're gonna stay strong
With hope you're gonna carry on
True love waits don't let anyone change your ways
Look 'em all straight in the face
And tell 'em, "No matter what I'll remain
The same"
Don't want to be deceived
See I've found the key
Can't you see that I believe, I believe?
That true love waits for me, waits for me
True love waits don't let anyone change your ways
Look 'em all straight in the face
And tell 'em, "No matter what I'll remain
The same"
Don't want to be deceived
See I've found the key
Can't you see that I believe, I believe?
With all of my heart I know I could love you
But with all of my soul I'm driftin' away
And with all of my mind I know you can save me from
myself, and anything else
With all of my strength I wanna reach out for you
With every breath, call out your name
With every step I just want to turn around and say
Make it okay
But I'm so afriad you've forgiven one too mnay times
And I'm so afraid to give my heart again
Just to have a change of mind
And I'm not quite sure that you can trust me
And I would hate to have you find me again
Driftin' away like the wind
With all of my heart I know I disappointed you
And altough I'm real sorry I don't know how to say this time
But if I were to lose you I know, I know I'd go completely
Out of my mind, but I'm running out of time
But I'm so afriad you've forgiven one too mnay times
And I'm so afraid to give my heart again
Just to have a change of mind
And I'm not quite sure that you can trust me
And I would hate to have you find me again
Driftin' away like the wind
It blows and nobody know where it's goin' to
(Like the wind)
It blows and nobody know what it's gonna do
(Like the wind)
At night you can hear it cry as the teardrops fall
From Heaven's eyes and somehow you know it's true
It's hard to know what to say
We've said so much that we regret
What a price that we pay
When we can't forgive much less forget
The more I hear the more I fear
That we might lose each other
Can we skip to the part
where we come to out senses
Before we go too far
Love shouldn't be so hard. . .
Can we open our hearts
Drop our defenses
Find where forgiveness starts
Let's stop where we are
And skip to the healing part
I can't recall what it was
That got this whole thing started
When anger grows like it does
and respect can get discarded
Everyday that we wait
Something good is dying
Can we skip to the part
where we come to out senses
Before we go too far
Sunny blue skies when my clouds been gray
Glass of cold water on a real hot day
Hot cocoa in the mug when it's cold outside
Like change for the bus when you got no ride
Lemme tell you 'bout a friend who will always be around
When your head hangs so low feel it draggin' on the ground
When you feel like the whole world jumped on your soul
Breathe in, breathe out, and let go, come on now
One, two what should I do
It hurts me to walk with this hole in my shoe
But I can't complain 'cause at least I got feet
And I don't need no shoes just to groove to the beat
Or to read Psalm 23 when it tells me
The Lord be my shepherd so what else do I need
Or Psalm 91 says, He'll deliver me
If I L O V E the G O D
So let go, let go, let go
So let go, let go, let go
So let go, let go, let go
So let go, let go
Let it go, yo, yo you got yo problems
You got yo, you got yo issues, you gotta let it go, yeah
[Incomprehensible] Asada with no Horchata, haha, you gotta let it go, uh
You got yo drama, yo baby, yo baby mama
You gotta let it go, yo, you got yo problems
Yo issues and God knows, He's reachin' out for you
Dawg, let it go
Yo, it's the S O U L J A H Z
Now lemme see when this beat come back in
How many of ya'll go crazy, uh, this is for my ladies
Yeah, 'cause it's all gravy, uh, this is for my fellas
Yo, holla back at me
Lemme see yo hands up if you done gave yo plans up
Let go and let Godbrother, run and tell your Godmother
If you's an odd number then your digit we gone call
Aah, I'm a Souljah, shoot I thought I told ya'll
Lost my umbrella on a rainy day
Stepped in a puddle goin' on my way
Boss all on my back 'cause I walked in late
But no matter what happened kept a smile on my face
'Cause I know of a friend who will always be there
When the world turns its back and nobody cares
When you feel like you just can't take no more
Breathe in, breathe out and let go, come on now
One, two, who woulda knew
I ran outta gas now what else can I do
But I, I can't complain 'cause at least I gotta car
And I don't need no gas to sing to the guitar
Or to read 1st Timothy when it tells me
The Lord gave me ministry so I should take heed
Or 1st John says, have no fear in me
If I L O V E the G O D
So let go, let go, let go
So let go, let go, let go
So let go, let go, let go
So let go, let go
Let it go, yo, you got yo problems
You got yo, you got yo issues, you gotta let it go, yeah
[Incomprehensible] Asada with no Horchata, haha, you gotta let it go, uh
You got yo drama, yo baby, yo baby mama
You gotta let it go, yo, you got yo problems
Yo issues and God knows, He's reachin' out for you
Dawg, let it go
Horchata, Hor-Hor-Horchata
Yo, I'm a Souljah, shoot I thought I told ya'll
I'm a Souljah, shoot, I'm a Souljah, shoot
I'm a Souljah, shoot
Two men walked on the road to Emmaus
Blind to a stranger they met on the way
Late in the evening, they asked him to supper
To break bread together at the close of the day
The stranger took the bread and bowed his head
Then asked for a blessing then he broke it
Into pieces of three
He gave to these blind men this bread
Blessed and broken
And suddenly their blinded eyes did see
His life was blessed far more than I could ever imagine
He was touched by God's grace more than I'll ever know
Then he was broken by the hands of the father
To bring sight to all blind men who were lost on their way
After God blessed him and after God broke him
He was given to bring sight to all men
When he was blessed
When he was broken
and after he was given
God blessed him and broke him again and again
My life is blessed far more than I could ever imagine
I've been touched by God's grace more than I'll ever know
So let me be given to the hands of the father
Let me feel, what you felt, when you were broken for me
After my blessing, and after my breaking
Let me be given to bring sight to all men
When I've been blessed
When I've been broken
then after I've been given Lord bless me and break me again and again
Why do you hit me?
You know I ain't your punchin' bag
Since when do thorns try to hurt the roses?
And why are you always mad?
Said I, I'm so innocent, and you're, you're so ignorant
Raise your fist, hit or miss
Try to take my happiness
Well, that ain't happenin' to me no more
'Cause I, I, I found a loving father and I, I, I'm fly away
To a place where I can smile and cry
'Cause I know I'm gonna make it today, yeah
Said I know I'm gonna make it today
I woke up this mornin'
As I wiped the sleep from my eyes
Got a real good feelin', yeah
For the first time I had no reason to cry
So I said, "My Father
Lord, thanks for the changin' my life
Lord, thanks for holdin' me, showin' me
What real love is like"
'Cause you're so true to me
So I try, try to be true to you
You love me when no one, no one even cared for me
So I can face the rain and smile again
'Cause I, I, I found a loving father and I, I, I'm fly away
To a place where I can smile and cry
'Cause I know I'm gonna make it today, yeah
Said I know I'm gonna make it today
What's the bottle for, and why are you so mad?
I thought that mama said you're supposed to be our loving dad
But alcohol done took control of your life
Now you do the same and try to take control of your wife and kids
So I'ma speak for all the quiet and scared
Too afraid to stand 'cause they can't face their fears
Take a look in the mirror, MJ says, "Change your ways to see clearer"
God says, "There's always a way out
Ain't no temptation that ain't played out"
Since the beginnin' of time, Satan's been roamin' the earth
Trying to tempt the weak willed to hate and hurt
And since sins birth, I know your lives been hard
Need to stop beatin' us and start beatin' your problems
So today is when we stop the hurt
Get up, it's 10 o'clock, yo, we're goin' to church
'Cause I, I, I found a loving father and I, I, I'm fly away
To a place where I can smile and cry
'Cause I know I'm gonna make it today, yeah
Said I know I'm gonna make
'Cause I, I, I found a loving father and I, I, I'm fly away
To a place where I can smile and cry
'Cause I know I'm gonna make it today
I know I'm gonna make it today

Yo, chef, turn it up so they know just who they dealin' with, what?

Not sweet tabs, souljabs, souljam or soy sauce
Say it how ya like we're still representin' God
4 years straight 1st album out the gate
Downtown San Diego slangin' my own tape
Y'all better get up or at least y'all better nod ya head
This beat so bangin' if you ain't movin' you must be dead
'Cause I'm gon' keep it real, the Souljahz ain't gon' never stop
I turn it up when I feel like preachin' to the cops
Ya heard me right, ain't afraid to say the Lord's name
I came with Him so I'm leavin' with Him just the same
My name is Jek and it was nice meetin' all of y'all
And if ya lost hope I see ya at the altar call
Souljahz don't stop, Souljahz don't stop

Souljahz don't quit, Souljahz don't quit
Bring the real live hits, bring the real live hits
I write what I like so give me the mic
It's like I'm going undercover trying to save a million brothers
From the devil that will beat you, meet you and greet you
Half way trying to hold you up because he needs you
If God be that stumblin' block, I be the rock
That hit you in the head before you trip off what he said
It's like that and it'll never change
And as long as I'm gon' be a Souljah you gon' hear His name
Check it, Souljahz don't stop, we bring y'all hits
Check my high hat, my snare and kick
Reverse that so it sounds like this
Now put all them sounds back up in the mix
We do what we want 'cause we freedom slaves
Lord, save us now while we still diggin' our graves
Or show us how to reach a real stage of repentance
Yes, repentance it's much needed
Souljahz don't stop, Souljahz don't stop
Bring the real hip hop, bring the real hip hop
Souljahz don't quit, Souljahz don't quit

Souljahz don't stop, Souljahz don't stop
Bring the real hip hop, bring the real hip hop
Souljahz don't quit, Souljahz don't quit
Bring the real live hits, bring the real live hits
Divine time to expose your mind to my rhyme while I communicate
Elevate the holy word, make a demon disintegrate
I generate and designate holy rhymes that do penetrate
Your heart then start to search every part and investigate
God incarnate, Jesus died so you could dominate
Death, when it comes to your last breath meet you eternal fate
Heaven or hell where you dwell demons will accumulate
Like dust and turn to rust if you continue to debate
Movin' on from situations that irratificate
M O V I N O N, check how I abbreviate
Let me demonstrate rhymes that penetrate this debate
Satan suffocates yo' fate, elevate than incriminate
Dare to agitate or fight your head, he might decapitate
Activate the joke to provoke and Satan will choke your faith
That's the way he operates, yeah, he always comes in second
To John, the most high Jesus Christ, word, now check it
Souljahz don't stop, Souljahz don't stop
Bring the real hip hop, bring the real hip hop
Souljahz don't quit, Souljahz don't quit
Bring the real live hits, bring the real live hits
Souljahz don't stop, Souljahz don't stop
Bring the real hip hop, bring the real hip hop
Souljahz don't quit, Souljahz don't quit
Bring the real live hits, bring the real live hits
Slippin'
There you go again
slippin
Doin the things you said you'd never do again
You hear me callin your name,
you're hiding
But I know just where you are
So close but yet so far
Turn around and see the miles youve come
Do you really wanna go back
Just to start again
Oh my friend
I can't bear to see you go out that way
Don't make the mistake of letting go
Hold on to me your slippin
Pretending everything is okay
In the front of the crowd-your smilin
But after everyone's gone, you're all along
You're not fine-you're slippin
Take off the mask with me
I see your heart, it's hurting
If you wanna stay with me, I need honesty
Don't play with me, You're slippin
Can't make it on your own, stop tryin
I've got the power to keep you from fallin
If I could just have the chance to show you
What real happiness is like
Yo, this goes out to all my wild style ladies
Respect yourselves and stop pumpin' out babies
And also to my brothers who keep thinkin' they're men
Yet it seems to me they're actin' more like man's best friend
Yo, I never knew that I would write this like
But if my Father's the light than I inherit brightness
We all people, black, white or brown we all equal
Livin' the same world waiting for the sequel
I write what my heart speaks through my pen leaks
Lyrics that are obstacles to make us reach peaks
Like women, never put no man in place of God
'Cause then you're sinnin'
And you know how hard it is for us to repent, I've been sent
To tell y'all just exactly what God meant when he quoted scripture
Write it down take a picture, so you could take it witcha
And let my lyrics change you when they hitcha, yeah
Why we always get caught up playin' that same ol' game
Still playin' that same ol' game, still playin' that same ol' game
All aboard the train, we're leavin' tonight
Gonna set things straight, gonna make everything alright, yeah
The thing that I do would only take a king to peruse
Never flirtin' with the physical only my mind and mental
This world, an instrumental, my life became the pencil
The paper is the days that gone by
I write with inspiration, with love for every nation
Yes, the hypnotic, Portuguese, Neurotic
From a land where they understand a man is symbolic
The soul's really what controls where everybody started
And where everybody's going to and up
Got lost in the dark because you didn't care enough
About the light, a vision that persuades me to write
A vision that persuades me to keep it shining
Bright for the Lord
Never go no where without my sword
This train could leave at anytime y'all better all aboard
Whether livin' day to day, or livin' heart to heart beat
A true Souljah suffers agony but never sees defeat
Why we always get caught up playin' that same ol' game
Still playin' that same ol' game, still playin' that same ol' game
All aboard the train, we're leavin' tonight
Gonna set things straight, gonna make everything alright, yeah
A yo, we all roll the dice in the game of life
Father forgive me for my sins even when I did 'em twice
Even when I did 'em 3 times, the 4th and the 5th
Never through I'd be the one you'd blessed with the gift
And I'm overwhelmed by it, but I must admit
That every time I grab the mic I never hesitate to spit
And if you wanna test God then do it
I'm just gonna warn you son, I been through it
And to my fine ladies, how you doin'?
Open your eyes and your mind what you doin'?
Give it up at such a young age, why you ruin your life?
All you wanted to be was a wife and blew it
And now you stuck with, three children, baby bottles and
Strollers too, and never thought
Dirty diapers would smell the way they do
And high school was cool
Until you got played for the fool tryin' to study for class
With a screamin', baby, burpin' up all over you
Why we always get caught up playin' that same ol' game
Still playin' that same ol' game, still playin' that same ol' game
All aboard the train, we're leavin' tonight
Gonna set things straight, gonna make everything alright, yeah
We are leavin' tonight
We gotta get ready 'cause we're leavin' tonight
We are leavin' tonight
We gotta get ready 'cause we're leavin' tonight
I've got to go, I've got to go, I've got to go
I wanna smile, I wanna laugh, I wanna cry
Want You to see Your reflection in my face
The brilliance of Your smile let's me know
That You care for me, always there for me
And You'll never let me go
Every minute of my time, every hour of my life
Every second of everyday, I will praise Your holy name, yeah
I wanna smile, I wanna laugh, I wanna cry
I wanna make it through the day
'Cause there's no stoppin' me when You're by my side
Oh Lord, want You to see Your reflection in my face
I can see the hourglass of time fadin' away
With no excuses for my shame
In a world that measures our success
By where we're at but not how we got there
I think we're sinking deeper everyday
If I had a dime for every tabloid mocking His return
I would be a millionaire, oh, and still they'd never learn
Use this fool to shame the wise
Remove the pride that blinds their eyes
Be my sail so I can drift way, oh Lord
I wanna smile, I wanna laugh, I wanna cry
I wanna make it through the day
'Cause there's no stopping me when You're by my side
Oh Lord, want You to see Your reflection in my face
Oh Lord, want You to see Your reflection in my face
I wanna smile, I wanna laugh, I wanna cry
I wanna make it through the day
'Cause there's no stopping me when You're by my side
Oh Lord, want You to see Your reflection in my face
I wanna smile, I wanna laugh, I wanna cry
I wanna feel You in my face
'Cause there's no stopping me when You're by my side
Oh Lord, want You to see Your reflection in my face
You don't know me, look into my eyes
You don't trust me, you'd rather die
Then to take my hand, lead me from this land
Of destruction and poverty, why don't you understand?
You don't see me, look into my soul
Can't believe me, I have nothing to show
But my legs and my arms and my feet and my ears
And my eyes and my hands, can't you see, I'm a man?
I am the poor man on the street and to the rich man
I'm a sinner, I'm a beggar and I'm a freak
Everyday you all just pass me by, can't you see me?
Please don't deny that I'm alive
Aye, yo, I roam all day and night alone
This cold pavement is my home away from home
Where I spend it, don't matter none
'Cause I'm left stranded but not the only one
'Cause there's a whole community of them
And me's that you stare at like we are the enemy and I swear
I don't mean no harm, I just wanna walk with ya
Don't mean no harm, I just wanna talk with ya
Tell me your name, I'll tell you mine
How you doin' today sir, I'm doin' fine
Now tell me, how that seem so hard
Easy to forget about me, when you forgot about God
So now I lay me down to sleep
I pray, dear God my soul You keep
And if I die before I wake
I pray, dear Lord my soul You take, You take
I am the poor man on the street and to the rich man
I'm a sinner, I'm a beggar and I'm a freak
Everyday you all just pass me by, can't you see me?
Please don't deny that I'm alive
Listen, it's a hard road and it's a hard game
To live the life of the man that has no name
And you point your fingers and laugh
Did you ever think where this man takes a bath?
Did you ever think when you called him a slob?
That it might be you in a year with no job
Yeah, he was livin' day to day a normal life just like yours
A job, house and a normal wife, just like yours
But never did he think or comprehend what was ahead
His stock dropped to zero, now he's better off dead
Then goes the house, back accounts and the Benz
Just when he needed 'em them the most, there goes his friends
Suicidal thoughts as the countdown begins
Puts the nine to his head it all comes to an end
About to pull the trigger as he takes his last breath
He remembers when he dies his kids inherit his debt
There's nothin' left, nowhere to run,
Puts down the gun, puts out his hand
Begs you for a dollar and you deny him again
Look him in the eye and deny him again, his name is poor man
You say you love God, but God says feed him and He'll feed me
So why deny me of the very thing I need
Don't want your money, no, at least have the decency
To look me in the eyes and not deny that I'm alive
He is the poor man on the street and to the rich man
He's a sinner, he's a beggar and he's a freak
Everyday you all just pass him by, can't you see him?
Please don't deny that he's alive
Please don't deny that he's alive
Please don't deny that he's alive
Please don't deny that he's alive
Yo, put your hands up, turn the beat up
Take your shoes off, throw your feet up
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
We been doin' this for years and you just now heard of us
Four years containin' back stabbin' music murderers
Yeah, I was a younga MC, now I'm older but please
Don't think my mind, change only time change
And the clock moves quicker as the plot gets thicker now
Yeah, I'm a Christian, my position paints the picture list
DJ Niques composin' beats since he was under age
A true master of the art it's time to take the stage
We give props to those who keepin' it tight
Big ups to P.O.D. for always rockin' it right
In the middle of my cloudy day, drop to my knees and pray
Let me walk in light so my darkness will fade away
Lord, please cleanse me from without and within
Be sure to never let me doubt the evil powers of sin
And work magic, deflectin' fiery darts aimin' at my heart
I think it's time to play my part, yo, so dig it
Yo, put your hands up, turn the beat up
Take your shoes off, throw your feet up
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
Put your hands up, turn the beat up
Take your shoes off, throw your feet up
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
When I look around all I see is record companies
And MC's goin' bankrupt tryna be free
That ain't the way that is should be, no, not hardly
You got me pacin' knowin' that you're gonna
Try to bring me down, I'm sorry
We won't stop, you ask why, 'cause we can't stop
Hip hop make ya neck pop when the beat drops
Souljahz, don't stop, we keep on tryin'
Souljahz, don't stop, we keep on risin'
(Rise, we rise)
Throw your hands in the sky
Wave 'em side to side, cone on

(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
Put your hands up, turn the beat up
Take your shoes off, throw your feet up
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
Hey yo, I keep it righteous while my rhymes ignite this
Mic and it might just be the time to recite this
Rhyme that I wrote in my room gotta keep rappin'
Man, I told ya the Souljahz was bound to make it happen
Got you askin', l ain't hear from the Souljahz in a while
Didn't they flip they style? Wasn't they just on trial?
C'mon, we just been on the road
From N.Y. to Germany, Hawaii 5.0
So think about it before you criticize my crew
'Cause when you point your finger at me
Three is pointed back at you
Actin' like a fool, whether it be jealousy or envy
Jealousy or envy, remember why we doin' this
It ain't about the Bentley, it ain't about the cars
Money, cash or the girls
It's a much bigger picture when you tryna change tha world
Righteous hip hop, from tha down-low to tha sip top
In yo sneakers or flip flops, coppin' spit wads
Yo, put your hands up, turn the beat up
Take your shoes off, throw your feet up
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
Put your hands up, turn the beat up
Take your shoes off, throw your feet up
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
Yo, put your hands up
Take your shoes off
(What, what, what, what, what)
(What, what, what, what, what)
Put your hands up, turn the beat up
Take your shoes off, throw your feet up
(What, what, what, what, what)
We keep on risin'
drop track not for money or fame after this
ya'll gone know the name it's Nureaumerica.
party time you can tell when the cars fill the parking lot,
and the beats so bangin you don't want it to stop.
Huh, i know how you feel when T-boy prepares the track for my grill.
I asked G-Hydro to spot me a dollar then i roll
to juanbertos to get my horchata.
I'm a keep it real, don't care how you feel
i'm here to change the way you think not to make a mill.
Money only last so long like a played out song
but when you walkin right you can't go wrong.
So all my SoulJahz in or out the game put your hands in the air
and praise boost his name, and adjust your transmission
cause the words comin outta the mouth of this Christian. Uh
Chorus:
jubilee, everybody sing with me
jubilee, everybody dance with me
jubilee, finally i've been set free
i'm free, free, yeah yeah yeah
Ay yo i go by the name of Josh'ua,
Hypnotically pronouce it with the yes y'all.
Move yo feet when your the beat drop as
the heat drops to the floor go the world beggin' for more.
See i said it before time to settle the score,
Send my rebels to war never ignore heavenly doors.
Seventy floor i bet you thought you'd never explore,
The Souljahz and Tonex collabo' never before.
Don't get it twisted, you turned yo back and you missed it,
Didn't understand so you dissed it.
Get this Righteous Hip-hop done teamed up with Nureau,
Title track ?Jubilee? you know.
Yeah i said it, i rap God and proudly admit,
Give me a mic and i'll spit it ?till everyone of y'all get it.
I don't really care who you are,
What your name is, where you came from,
What gang you bang with.
Cause in the end you answer to the same King that i do.
Shoot one at Him and catch five back inside you.
So put your guns away, sheath your swords,
Heed the force let it be with you, power to my people.
Or better yet power to my Souljahz around the globe holdin' it down,
I see y'all, holdin' yo crown, explodin' my sound and never stop until they send the army for us,
Zsa Zsa bring in the chorus.
Chorus
Woke up this morning feelin all right cause i got the Ju-jubilee kinda vibe.
Uh oh didn't know girl got soul?
Flow to the beat and make ya loose control and say
Jub to the izz i L double izz E,
Get up out your seat and move your body to be bizzeat.
Hip-hop, you hop to the hip beats we drop
cause we go on and on ya know we won' stop.
Didn't understand how we flipped it.
Righteous hip-hop drops oh the world goes ballistic.
T Bizzi on the beat bringin heat.
Get up out ya seat move ya feet.
Like like a ?dancin machine? or a ?dancing queen?.
C'mon, c'mon sing with me.
I have, i have been set free.
Cause i believe in the kins most high.
Messiah, Elohiem, my Christ.
So throw your hands way up in the sky
wave em side to side and get real live.
Don't let your chance of real love pass you by.
Y'all can't deny testify till i die.
Tonex and Souljahz callab oh my!
Zsa Zsa girl c'mon take us to the sky.
How many times has the Lord blessed you
If he hasn't then why do you do
What he does not like you to do?
Jesus
with His outstretched hands
Proves Himself over and over again
He may not come when you want Him to
But He's on time
When you need Him
He's always there
There to take you
Out of your bind
And if you need some guidance
Because you really really love the Lord
Jesus can help you
And He's not short of His word
He may be morning
(May be morning)
Anytime of the day
Jesus will do
Just what He said
He will deliver
He will deliver
He will deliver you out
But here's what you gotta do
Listen here
Just weather the storm
Stay in the race
I know that Jesus
May seem so far away
But when your mind's made up
and you want to turn
You're gonna go on
My Jesus He's gonna be there
Just before the break of day
He will, He will
Yes He will
I know that the Lord
(won't he deliver)
He will deliver
Yes He will
I know that the Lord's
Gonna deliver
He will
Yes He will
I know that God's gonna deliver
You out of every situation
Yes He will
Yes He will
Yes He will
Yes He will
Yes He will
Yes He will
He's gonna deliver
(lead ad-lib)
God is able
God is able
God is able
God is able
Do you belive it?
Do you believe it?
Wave your hands
God is able
God is able
God delivered me
He picked me up
And turned me around
He placed my feet on
Higher ground
Yes He did
He will deliver
I know he will
I know that the Lord will
So put your trust in Jesus
Lean not to your own understanding
But trust in the Lord
yes you have to lean on Him
You gotta lean on Him
You gotta lean on Him
You gotta lean on Him
You gotta lean on Him
Whatever the situation
I know that God is able
yes He is
You gotta lean on Him tonight
Has the Lord ever done anything
For you?
You ought to wave your hands
Shout Glory!
Shout Glory!
Shout Glory!
Shout Glory!
Hallelujah!
He will deliver you out!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
(reprise)
He will deliver
I know that the Lord will deliver
Yes!
He will
I know that the Lord will
I know that the Lord will
He will deliver
He will deliver you out
yes He will
I know
Cause I tried Him
I tried the Lord
I tried the Lord
For myself
yes I have
Since the beginning you knew
He's been with you
You were raised in the church
so you know I'm tellin the truth
Livin like you don't know right from wrong
tellin yourself you're okay
God's word is always right
Just admit you've left the way
So I'm here to tell ya
it doesn't matter what you've done or where you been
Just fall on your knees, confess and he will forgive your sins
(chorus)
Come on back home, you've been away too long
God has been good to you
He's brought you through and through
Why can't you see the signs We're living at the end
Jesus is coming soon
Don't wait too late my friend
Just surrender and stop the fight
Go head and throw in the towel
Why run from love any longer
When you're almost out of time
Let him restore you
And break up that fallow ground
All power is in his hands
To turn your whole life around
Let him in your heart
The choice is yours you don't have to be ashamed
(chorus)
Please don't ignore the knocking at your door
Let him in your heart, he'll forget the past and give a fresh new start
And this time hold on, don't let him, don't let him, don't let him go
He wants to wash you and fill you and heal you and love you like...
Worthy is the Lamb, Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb, on High
(repeat)
Thou art worthy to take the book
To open the seals thereof
For Thou was slain and has redeemed us
To God by Thy blood
By Thy blood, by Thy blood
By Thy blood, by Thy blood
(repeat)
Thou art worthy to take the book
To open the seals thereof
For Thou was slain and has redeemed us
To God by Thy blood
By Thy blood, every kindred and tongue
By Thy blood, all people in every nation
By Thy blood, we're kings and priests
We shall reign, by Thy blood
By Thy blood, heaven and earth are saying
By Thy blood, blessing and honor and glory
By Thy blood, and power beyond to Him
Upon the throne
(Bridge)
By Thy blood,
By Thy blood (for it's only)
By Thy blood, ever kindred and tongue
By Thy blood, all people in every nation
By Thy blood, we're kings and priests
We shall reign, by Thy blood
verse:
When I was a child
I didn't know I could be saved
And Not live the same way
Do things differently
But see, Now that I'm older
I got bigger wings
And I can fly up high to see the King
Cause I gotta intervene
with the man that healed every body can't you see
He laid his hands on me
Enabled me to walk the streets
You know he laid his hands on me
Enabled me to walk the streets
He's blessin me
He's blessin meee,
He's blessin me
He's blessin me. ooh o
Chorus:
O o Oo o oo ohoo oo o oohhoo he's blessin me...
Verse2:
Now it was evident that you needed him but you didn't call on him
you wanted him but you wanted me to do it for ya
Now ultimately you effect your way of being bless
Now if you want him (he'll do)
Whatever you want him (to do)
Lord knows if you called on him when it wanted you to
Right now you be blessed likes he wants you to
But When praises go up blessings come down
And I'm recieving blessings all the time
CHORUS:
Bridge:
Lift yo head up
Everything gonna be alright
Don't you worry
Cause you know he will dry yo eyes
I wandered by a brookside
I wandered by a mill
I could not hear the water
The murmuring it was still
Not a sound of any grasshopper
Nor the chirp of any bird
But the beating of my own heart
Was the only sound I heard
The beating of my own heart
Was the only sound I heard
Then silent tears fast flowing
When someone stood beside
A hand upon my shoulder
I knew the touch was kind
He drew me near and nearer
We neither spoke one word
But the beating of our own two hearts
Was the only sound I heard
The beating of our own two hearts
There is a time for love and laughter
The days will pass like summer storms
The winter wind will follow after
But there is love and love is warm
There is a time for us to wander
When time is young and so are we
The woods are greener over yonder
The path is new the world is free
There is a time when leaves are fallin'
The woods are gray the paths are old
The snow will come when geese are callin'
You need a fire against the cold
So do your roaming in the springtime
And you'll find your love in the summer sun
The frost will come and bring the harvest
I sat within the valley green, I sat me with my true love
My sad heart strove the two between, the old love and the new love
The old for her, the new that made me think on Ireland dearly
While soft the wind blew down the glen and shook the golden barley
'Twas hard the woeful words to frame to break the ties that bound us
But harder still to bear the shame of foreign chains around us
And so I said, "The mountain glen I'll seek at morning early
And join the bold united men," while soft winds shake the barley
While sad I kissed away her tears, my fond arms round her flinging
A yeoman's shot burst on our ears from out the wildwood ringing
A bullet pierced my true love's side in life's young spring so early
And on my breast in blood she died while soft winds shook the barley
I bore her to some mountain stream, and many's the summer blossom
I placed with branches soft and green about her gore-stained bosom
I wept and kissed her clay-cold corpse then rushed o'er vale and valley
My vengeance on the foe to wreak while soft wind shook the barley
But blood for blood without remorse I've taken at Oulart Hollow
And laid my true love's clay cold corpse where I full soon may follow
As round her grave I wander drear, noon, night and morning early
Don't sing love songs, you'll wake my mother
She's sleeping here right by my side
In her right hand a silver dagger
She says that I can't be your bride
All men are fools, so says my mother
They'll tell you again love and lies
And then they'll go and court some other
Leave you alone to pine inside
My daddy is a handsome devil
He's got a chain five miles long
On every link a heart does dangle
Of another maid he's loved and wronged
Go court another tender maiden
In hopes that she might be your bride
For I've been warned, so I decided
I'll sleep alone all of my life
Don't sing love songs, you'll wake my mother
She's sleeping here right by my side
In her right hand a silver dagger
In Newry town I was bred and born
In Stephens Green now I lie in scorn
I served me time at the saddler's trade
I always was a roving blade
I always was a roving blade
At seventeen I took a wife
I loved her dearer than I loved me life
And so to keep her both fine and gay
I went out robbing on the king's highway
I went out robbing on the king's highway
I never robbed a poor man yet
Nor lately caused anyone to fret
But I robbed lords and ladies fine
And I carried the gold home to me heart's delight
I carried the gold home to me heart's delight
I robbed Lord Baldwin, I do declare
And Lady Manswell up in Grovenors Square
I closed me shutters and bade them good night
And I carried the gold home to me heart's delight
I carried the gold home to me heart's delight
To Covent Garden I made my way
With me dear wife for to see the play
The Fielding's men there did me pursue
And I was taken by that cursed crew
Oh I was taken by that cursed crew
My father cried, "Oh me darling son"
My wife, she cried, "Now I am undone"
My mother tore her gray locks and cried
It's in the cradle I should have died
It's in the cradle I should have died
When I am dead, I want for my grave
A flashy funeral pray let me have
Six highwaymen for to carry me
Oh give them broadswords and sweet liberty
There was a fair maid and she lived all alone
She lived all alone on the shore
No one could she find for to calm her sweet mind
But to wander alone on the shore, shore, shore
To wander alone on the shore
There was a brave captain who sailed a fine ship
And the weather being steady and fair
I shall die, I shall die, this dear captain did cry
If I can't have that maid on the shore, shore, shore
If I can't have that maid on the shore
After many persuasions they brought her on board
He seated her down on his chair
He invited her down to his cabin below
Farewell to all sorrow and care
Farewell to all sorrow and care
I'll sing you a song, this fair maid did cry
This captain was weeping for joy
She sang it so sweetly, so soft and completely
She sang the captain and sailors to sleep
Captain and sailors to sleep
She robbed them of jewels, she robbed them of wealth
She robbed them of costly fine fare
The captain's broadsword she used as an oar
She rowed her way back to the shore, shore, shore
She rowed her way back to the shore
Oh the men, they were mad and the men, they were sad
They were deeply sunk down in despair
To see her go away with her booty so gay
The rings and her things and her fine fare
The rings and her things and her fine fare
Well, don't be so sad and sunk down in despair
And you should have known me before
I sang you to sleep and I robbed you of wealth
Well, again I'm a maid on the shore, shore, shore
Early every year, seeds are growing
Unseen, unheard, they lie beneath the ground
Would you know before the leaves are showing
That with weeds all your garden will abound?
If you close your eyes, stop your ears
Hold your mouth, how can you know?
The seeds you cannot see may not be there
The seeds you cannot hear may never grow
In January you've still got the choice
You can cut the weeds before they start to bud
If you leave them to grow higher, they'll silence your voice
And in December you may pay with your blood
Close your eyes, stop your ears
Close your mouth and take it slow
Let others take the lead and you bring up the rear
And later you can say you didn't know
Everyday another vulture takes flight
There's another danger born every morning
In the darkness of your blindness the beast will learn to bite
How can you fight if you can't recognize a warning?
Close your eyes, stop your ears
Close your mouth and then you know
Let others take the lead and you bring up the rear
And later you can say you didn't know
Today you may earn a living wage
Tomorrow you may be on the dole
Though there's millions going hungry, you needn't disengage
For it's them, not you, that's fallen in the hole
It's alright for you if you run with the pack
It's alright if you agree with all they do
If the fascist's party slowly climbing back
It's not here yet, so what's it got to do with you?
The weeds are all around us and they're growing
It will soon be too late for the knife
If you leave them on the wind that around the world is blowing
You may pay for your silence with your life
Close your eyes, stop your ears
Close your mouth, they're never there
And if it happens here, they'll never come for you
she's like the swallow that flies so high
oh -- she's like the river that never runs dry
she's like the sunshine on the lee shore
I love my love and love is no more
oh --
a maiden into the garden did go
a-pickin' the beautiful, primitive rose
all the more she plucked, the more she did pull
until she got her apron full
and out of the roses
she made a bed
a scarlet pillow for her head
she lay her down, no word did she speak
and then this fair maiden's heart it did break
she's like the swallow that flies so high
and she's like the river that never runs dry
she's like the sunshine on the lee shore
I love my love and love is no, no more
no, no more
she's like the swallow
It's a mighty hard row that my poor hands have hoed
My poor feet have traveled this hot dusty road
Out of your Dust Bowl and Westward we rolled
through deserts so hot and through mountains so cold
I've wandered all over your green growing land
Where ever your crops are I lent you my hand
On the edge of your cities, you see me and then
I come with the dust and I'm gone with the wind
California, Arizona, I'd worked on your crops
the North up to Oregon to gather your hops
I got beets from your ground, I cut grapes from your vine
To sat at our table that white sparkling wine
Green pastures of plenty from the dry desert ground
From the Grand Coulee Dam where the waters run down
Every state on this Union we migrants have been
We worked on the land and we'll fight untill we win
It's always we rambled, that river and I
All along your green valleys, I work till I die
Tramble this road untill death sets me free
I adore thee, Mother Mary
But would you change me back to a witch?
Let me live in the arms of a sorry old elm
Give the gypsy moths a realm of their own
For a postman's fee would I work for thee
From that tree would I swoop down and leave
A billion blue eggs of eternity
And in no time you'd have your own See
Don't just stare, I mean it, really
Hear my prayer, I give it freely
Are you there, fleur de lis?
I adore thee, Mother Mary
But would you change me back to a witch?
Let me live in the arms of a willow
Fly around not wearing a stitch
For so long has this room been so hollow
We wait at the gate for an echo
In the flesh of your newly cleaned frescoes
Where Jesus holds John to his breast
Wrapped around and rocking slowly
No one bound to be so holy
In your gown of fleur de lis
I adore thee, Mother Mary
But would you change my back to a witch?
As a witch would I love you more than any man
So give a wink, give a nod, give a damn
Be a sport, Mary, and don't tell Dad
He need never know how he's been had
Never you mind about those seven seals
'Cause Daddy was a one-shot deal
One, two, three, it could be that easy
There we'd be, I with my baby
On a sea of fleur de lis
Do re mi, it could be that easy
There we'd be, I with my baby
Hit the asphalt hard, gone burning down
Spit and broken teeth, blood on the ground
Raw are the hours, blackened out is the sun
My lover is gone, my lover is gone
Live in the lowground, lay in the low ground
Make your way through the lowground, lonesome
Live in the lowground, lay in the lowground
Make your way through the lowground, lonesome
Still black sorrow and bitter fermented
The puddle of the poet's tears, forgot the more they meant it
The cry of a whip, the crack of a gun
I'll never love another one, never love another one
Live in the lowground, lay in the low ground
Make your way through the lowground, lonesome
Live in the lowground, lay in the lowground
Make your way through the lowground, lonesome
There's a place I know, I've been there before
Where the river cuts deep through the canyon
In the wilderness I will clear my soul
Up to the silence, to the thunder that rolls
And the rain, it will drench me and cut to my bones
And I'll leave clean and I'll leave whole
And I'll set out again to find my home
Glass furnace hard, and a stupor of loss
Squall of surrender and paying the cost
For a blindness for blindness, too late now I see
Love, I come back to me, I come back to me
Live in the lowground, lay in the low ground
Make your way through the lowground, lonesome
Live in the lowground, lay in the lowground
Make your way through the lowground, lonesome
My soul has been torn from me, and I am bleeding
My heart, it has been rent, and I am crying
All the beauty around me fades, and I am screaming
I am the last of the great whales and I am dying
Last night I heard the cry of my last companion
The roar of the harpoon gun, and then I was alone
I thought on the days gone by when we were thousands
But I know that I soon must die, the last leviathan
This morning the sun did rise, crimson edge to the north sky
The ice was the color of blood, and the winds, they did sigh
I rose for to take a breath, it was my last one
From a gun came the roar of death, and now I am done
And so since time began, we have been hunted
Through oceans that were our homes we have been haunted
From Eskimos in canoes to mighty whalers
Still you ignored our pleas, none came to save us
Oh now that we all are gone, there is no more hunting
The big fellow is no more, it's no use lamenting
What race will be next in line all for the slaughter?
The elephant or the seal, or your sons and daughters?
My soul has been torn from me, and I am bleeding
My heart, it has been rent, and I am crying
All the beauty around me fades, and I am screaming
Oh I wish I were on yonder hill
It's there I'd sit and cry my fill
'Til every tear would turn a mill
My Johnny's gone for a soldier
Well, Johnny, my love, he went away
He would not heed what I did say
He won't be back for many's a day
My Johnny's gone for a soldier
Chorus:
Shule, shule, shule a gra
Oh shule, oh shule and he loves me
When he comes back, he will marry me
My Johnny, he has gone for a soldier
I'll sell my rack, I'll sell my reel
I'll sell my only spinning wheel
And buy my love a sword of steel
My Johnny's gone for a soldier
I'll dye my petticoat, I'll dye it red
Around the world I'll bake my bread
'Til I find my love alive or dead
My Johnny, he has gone for a soldier
(Chorus)
But now my love, he has gone to France
To try his fortune to advance
If he returns, it is but a chance
My Johnny, he has gone for a soldier
(Chorus)
I wish, I wish, I wish in vain
I wish I had my heart again
'Tis gladly I would not complain
My Johnny, he has gone for a soldier
(Chorus 2x)
I wonder what's keeping my true love tonight
I wonder what's keeping her out of my sight
It is little she knows of the pain that I endure
Or she would not stay from me this night, I am sure
Oh love, are you coming your cause to advance?
Oh love, are you waiting for a far better chance?
Or have you got a sweetheart laid by you in store?
And you're coming to tell me that you love me no more?
Oh love, I'm not coming my cause to advance
And love, I'm not waiting for a far better chance
But I have got a sweetheart laid by me in store
And I'm coming to tell you that I love you no more
For 'tis I can love lightly and 'tis I can love long
And 'tis I can love the old love 'til the new love comes along
I just said that I loved you for to set your mind at ease
But when I'm far from you, I'll love whom I please
Well, I've gold in my pocket and I've love in my heart
But I can't love a maiden who has got two sweethearts
Your love, it lies as lightly as the dew upon a thorn
Comes down in the evening, goes away in the morn
Green grass, it grows bonny, spring water runs clear
I am weary and lonesome for the love of my dear
You're my first and false true love and 'tis lately I knew
I am a maid that sleeps in love and cannot feel my pain
For once I had a sweetheart, and Johnny was his name
And if I cannot find him, I'll wander night and day
For it's for the sake of Johnny, I'll cross the stormy seas
I'll cut off my yellow locks, men's clothing I'll wear on
And like a gallant soldier boy this road I'll gang along
Enquiring for a captain a passage to engage free
For to be his chief companion on the banks of liberty
The very first night the captain lay down on his bed to sleep
These very words he said to me, "I wish you were a maid
Your cherry cheeks and ruby lips, they've often enticed me
I wish to the gods, unto my heart, a maid you were to me"
In three days after that we did land on shore
"Adieu, adieu, dear captain, adieu forever more
A sailor boy I was on ship, but a maid I am on shore
Adieu, adieu, dear captain, adieu forever more"
"Come back, come back, my blooming girl, come back and marry me
For I have a good fortune, I'll give it all to thee"
"To marry you, dear captain, is more than I can say
Wake up, oh wake up, don't sleep, please
I had another one of those dreams
Where your feet are bound together
And the tin man is spinning again
Hold my hand, I will stand as the world turns around me
Lock the door to the yard or the wind is bound
To blow my fragile anchors away
Who's gonna carry the blame?
Who's gonna take up the campaign
When these injured streets are bleeding?
Politicians in command are washing their hands
Got to tend the marching bands
When the battered streets are
When the battered streets are
When the battered streets are bleeding
And I am losing my hold
There are soldiers in the hallway
They will break down these walls
There's an apparation behind the bedroom blinds
There is black ink in the bathroom sink
If the gunmen don't let her go
Or the snake outside will swallow the house
Who's gonna carry the blame?
Who's gonna take up the campaign
When these injured streets are bleeding?
Politicians in command are washing their hands
Got to tend the marching bands
When the battered streets are
When the battered streets are
When the battered streets are bleeding
And I know you will try
But you cannot protect me from these shadows inside
'Cause these dreams I have are so much bigger
Than the blade of a knife or a shotgun's trigger
If the gunmen don't let her go
Or the snake outside will swallow the house
Who's gonna carry the blame?
Who's gonna take up the campaign
When these injured streets are bleeding?
Politicians in command are washing their hands
Got to tend the marching bands
When the battered streets are
When the battered streets are
When the battered streets are bleeding
Who's gonna carry the blame?
Who's gonna take up the campaign?
When the battered streets are
When the battered streets are
Wise man lookin' in a blade of grass
Young man lookin' in shadows that pass
Poor man lookin' through painted glass
Fat man lookin' in a blade of steel
Thin man lookin' at his last meal
Hollow man lookin' in a cottonfield
For dignity
Drinkin' man listens to the voice he hears
In a crowded room full of covered-up mirrors
Lookin' into the lost forgotten years
For dignity
I went down where the vultures feed
Would have got deeper, but there wasn't any need
I heard the tongues of angels and the tongues of man
Wasn't any difference to me
Sick man lookin' for the doctor's cure
Lookin' at his hands for the lines that were
Into every masterpiece of literature
Blind man breakin' out of a trance
Puts both hands in the pockets of chance
Hopin' to find one circumstance
Of dignity
Footprints runnin' across silver sand
Steps goin' down into tatoo land
Met the sons of darkness and the sons of light
In the border towns of despair
No place to fade, I got no coat
I'm on the rolling river in a jerkin' boat
Trying to read a note somebody wrote
Englishman stranded in the blackheart wind
Combin' his hair back, his future looks thin
Bites the bullet and looks within
For dignity
Someone showed me a picture and I just laughed
Dignity never been photographed
I went into the red, I went into the black
Into the valley of dry-bone dreams
So many roads, so much at stake
So many dead ends, I'm at the edge of a lake
Sometimes I wonder what it's gonna take
Darkness, Darkness
Be my pillow
Take my hand and let me sleep
In the coolness of your shadow
In the silence of your deep
Darkness, Darkness
Loud and lonesome
Is the day that brings me here
I have felt the edge of silence
I have known the depths of fear
Darkness, Darkness
Hide the yearning
For the things that cannot be
Keep my mind from constant turning
Toward the things I cannot see
Darkness, Darkness
Loud and lonesome
Is the day that brings me here
I have felt the edge of silence
I have known the depths of fear
Darkness, Darkness
Be my blanket
Cover me with the endless night
Take away the pain of knowing
Fill the emptyness of right
Darkness, Darkness
Be my pillow
Take my hand and let me sleep
In the coolness of your shadow
In the silence of your deep
Darkness, Darkness
Hide the yearning
For the things that cannot be
Keep my mind from constant turning
To the things I cannot see
Darkness, Darkness
Be my blanket
Cover me with the endless night
Take away the pain of knowing
Who has dressed you in strange clothes of sand?
Who has taken you far from my land?
Who has said that my sayings were wrong?
Who will say that I stayed much too long?
Chorus:
Clothes of sand have covered your face
Given you meaning, but taken my place
So make your way on down to the sea
Something has taken you so far from me
Does it now seem worth all the color of skies
To see the earth through painted eyes?
To look through panes of shaded glass
See the stains of winter's grass?
(Chorus)
Can you now return to from where you came?
Try to burn your changing name
Or with silver spoons and colored light
Will you worship moons in winter's night?
Bonnie Mae a-shepherding has gone
To call the sheep to the fold
And aye, as she sang, her bonny voice, it rang
Right over the tops of the downs, downs
Over the tops of the downs
There came a troop of gentlemen
As they were riding by
And one of them has lighted down
And he's asked of her the way, the way
He's asked of her the way
"Ride on, ride on, you rank riders
Your steeds are stout and strong
For it's out of the fold I will not go
For fear you'll do me wrong, wrong
Fear you'll do me wrong"
Now he's taken her by the middle jip
And by the green gown sleeve
And there he's had his will of her
And he's asked of her no leave, no leave
He's asked of her no leave
"Oh I've ridden east and I've ridden west
And I've ridden o'er the downs
But the bonniest lass that ever I saw
Is calling her sheep to the fold"
She has taken the milk pail on her head
And she's gone lingering home
And all her father said to her
Was, "Daughter, you've done me wrong, wrong
Daughter, you've done me wrong"
Now twenty weeks were gone and past
Twenty weeks and three
And the lassie began to fret and to frown
And to long for his twinkling eye, bright eye
Long for his twinkling eye
Now it fell on a day, and a bonny summer's day
For she walked out alone
That selfsame troop of gentlemen
Came riding o'er the downs, downs
Riding o'er the downs
"Who got the babe with thee, Bonnie Mae?
Who got the babe in thy arms?"
For shame she blushed and aye, she said
"Oh I've a good man of my own"
"You lie, you lie, you bonny, bonny Mae
So loud I hear you lie
Remember the misty, murky night
I lay in the fold with thee, with thee
I lay in the fold with thee
Now he's lighted off his berry-brown steed
He's set the fair Mae on
"Go call out your fold, good father, yourself
She'll ne'er call them again, again
She'll ne'er call them again"
For he's the Lord of Achentrioch
With fifty plough and three
And he's taken away the bonniest lass
In all the south country, country
When Annis built this cage
I saw the blueprint on the table
But I was too young to run
She lured me from my play
To her clandestine domain
To tend her illicit garden
Black, black soul
And Annis takes her toll
And from her veil of black
With all the mirrors at her back
She called me into her guarded empire
I treaded soft and lightly
Fear trembling so slightly
Snows in my bones I dream of the white sea
Chorus:
Black, black soul
And Annis takes her toll
Child of sin
Black Annis wins again
When Annis roared and jeered
I knew that no one leaves from here
Her fervid anger don't spare anything
In the frenzy of my senses
She confiscated my defenses
With all the forces of night
When Annis built this cage
I saw the blueprint on the table
But I was too young to run
She lured me from my play
To her clandestine domain
To tend her illicit garden
(Chorus 2x)
Oh the ship I'm on
Time is what I ride
Forty winds
The captain and the tide
Well a sailor boy
Stole me from my home
And this sea of joy
Is the only life I've known
I would fly away
I would fly away
But I take the sea
For stranger days than these
Now a salty dog
Is caught up on the reef
And the bottom of the sea
She kisses in relief
She could fly away
She could fly away
But she takes the sea
For stranger days than these
So you trade your life
When something comes for you
And you bury the knife
Between the lies and truth
You could fly away
You could fly away
But you take the sea
For stranger days than these
And I take the sea
Cold blows the wind upon my true love
Soft falls the gentle rain
I never had but one true love
And in Greenwood she lies slain
I'd lose much for my true love
As any young man may
I'll sit and I'll mourn all on your grave
For twelve months and a day
When the twelfth month and a day had passed
The ghost began to speak
"Who is it that sits all on my grave
And will not let me sleep?"
"'Tis I, 'tis I, thine own true love
That sits all on your grave
I ask of one kiss from your sweet lips
And that is all that I crave"
"My lips, they are as clay, my love
My breath is earthy strong
And if you should kiss my clay-cold lips
Your time, 'twould not be long"
"Look down in the yonder garden fair
Love, where we used to walk
The fairest flower that ever bloomed
Has withered and too the stalk"
"The stalk, it has withered and dried, my love
So will our hearts decay
So make yourself content, my love
'Til death calls you away"
"Adieu, lovely Nancy, for now I must leave you
To the far-off West Indies I'm bound for to steer
But let my long journey be of no trouble to you
For my love, I'll return in the course of a year"
"Talk not of leaving me here, lovely Jimmy
Talk not of leaving me here on the shore
You know very well your long absence will grieve me
As you sail the wild ocean where the wild billows roar
I'll cut off my ringlets all curly and yellow
I'll dress in the coats of a young cabin boy
And when we are out on that dark, rolling ocean
I will always be near you, my pride and my joy"
"Your lily-white hands, they could not handle the cables
Your lily-white feet to the top mast could not go
And the cold winter storms, well, you could not endure them
Stay at home, lovely Nancy, where the the wild winds won't blow"
As Jimmy set a-sailing, lovely Nancy stood a-wailing
The tears from her eyes in great torrents did a-flow
As she stood on the beach, oh her hands she was wringing
Crying, "Oh and alas, will I e'er see you more?"
As Jimmy was a-walking on the quays of Philadelphia
The thoughts of his true love, they filled him with pride
He said, "Nancy, lovely Nancy, if I had you here, love
How happy I'd be for to make you my bride"
So Jimmy wrote a letter to his own lovely Nancy
Saying, "If you have proved constant, well, I will prove true"
Oh but Nancy was dying, for her poor heart was broken
Oh the day that he left her, forever he'd rue
Come all of you young maidens, I pray, take a warning
And don't trust a sailor boy or any of his kind
For first they will court you and then they'll deceive you
For their love, it is tempestuous as the wavering wind
Tell me, where did Helen go?
This is where she had her dwelling
She has vanished like the snow
Where there is no way of telling
This is where she had her dwelling
And the while they come and they go
Where there is no way of telling
She has vanished like the snow
What became of Heloise?
Abelard, he was her lover
Once they lived in Saint-Denis
Where they've gone, I can't discover
Abelard, he was her lover
All the while they come and they go
Where they've gone I can't discover
They have vanished like the snow
Joan came riding from the rain
Everybody knows the story
England burned her in the rain
Theirs the shame and hers the glory
Everybody knows the story
All the while they come and they go
England's shame and France's glory
When she vanished like the snow
Where's the times and where's the places?
That is what I'd like to know
For they gloried in their graces
When they vanished like the snow
We all talk, we all walk, we all do the things we want
We're so powerful we say, so why can't we stop the hate
So come on, tell me how to get to the place
Where all the color lines fade away
'Things ain't always what it seems', Martin Luther King
Said it and while you hate you regret it
But the world will never change until you openly admit it
And look, [unverified] at the color of my sin and then you'll get it
Yo, what about the great American dream
Where all men are created equal
Was that a twisted plot for the sequel?
Sewing seeds of hate so that your kids inherit evil
And the wonder why your peachy
Neighborhood isn?t so peaceful, ooh, let freedom ring
And shake the entire being of America's dream
Let it ring from mountaintops to valley lows
My rally grows stronger with my hunger
For this land of the free, home of the brave
Mentally enslaved, we lost everything that our forefathers gained Pain?
My race still decides it as states we're united and by hate we're divided
We all talk, we all walk, we all do the things we want
We're so powerful we say, so why can't we stop the hate
So come on, tell me how to get to the place
Where all the color lines fade away
I ain't the first to paint this picture, reminisce on how my situation
Done got me thinkin' clear, oh my dear, baby
I'm sick of tryin' lately, y'all see me cryin' it's crazy
I thought we made it far from here, oh, oh, oh no
Forgive them Father for they don't know their problem's gone
Deeper than my skin, became king of the hole above their chin
Don't tell me nothin' 'cause I don't wanna hear it
God judges through your spirit, don't let your hate
See my color and dig my grave again
We all talk, we all walk, we all do the things we want
We're so powerful we say, so why can't we stop the hate
So come on, tell me how to get to the place
Where all the color lines fade away
Many have died, their very lives a living sacrifice
But they all remembered, they all remembered, yeah, yeah
Instead of walkin' let's march, instead of words, let's speak heart
Who needs the sunlight, when freedom reigns?
Yo, she was such a dignified child
It been a long while since she seen a stranger smile
Just moved to New York and they all hate her 'cause she can dance
Who ever said, havin' rhythm means you gotta be tan
She was taught to be color blind but her ears could hear
And every time they talked about her, her heart shed a tear
Come on, y'all don't hear me what else can I say
Listen let me tell you in a different way
We fight, betray, we know the games we play
And I can't figure out the reason why tell me why, it kills me
We say we're grown but yet fight over skin tone
Instead of helping each other we'd rather help are own
We all talk, we all walk, we all do the things we want
We're so powerful we say, so why can't we stop the hate
So come on, tell me how to get to the place
I'ma start with the definition of real hip hop and true raps expression
Inner soul and beliefs through 4 A dat's
Or should I say 32 tracks of inner artifacts
From the heart the pressure just might arrest my cardiac
And perhaps it snaps some back if I don't cut it some slack
Release the spirit that be spittin' these lyrics, you can't react
There is no come back for those who come wack
Leave you shook with a hook from the Holy book for combat
Now what? You wanna battle me? It's ain't what it seems
You ain't up against the odds of me
You up against the odds of the Most High
Supreme Being
You took a turn for the worst and got cursed
You mess with a child of Jah
You deal with God first
'Round the earth and sea
Never fake or underestimate the power of the enemy
'Cause just when you think you got the devil out your vicinity
He snipes you from the roof and takes you out like he did Kennedy
And splatter your dreams all over the wall, laugh as you fall
Cut you off in the knees and make it hard to stand tall
And in the midst of it all, he got the gall to say no hope
So to cope you call a psychic and review your horoscope
You know what I call a horoscope? Exactly what it means
A scope into the horror of reality's bad dreams
They make it out to be
What it doesn't seem
Just to change it back to way it is
Nothing' but lies, kid
Where all my real live Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where all my hip hop Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where my true Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Now just throw your hands way up in the air
And wave 'em all around like you just don't care
And if you're here to get down
Lemme hear ya say, aw, yeah
(Aw, yeah)
You be feelin' it deep in your soul
Tryna' deny that yo peachy world done lost control
We live and die in the dust that we came from
No matter where everybody sing the same song
We all brothers and when you hear the missiles soar
You hit the floor like war, war, still can't find out what it's good for
Absolutely nothin', we killin' like we cannibals
Runnin' over somethin'
You life's a never ending story, runnin' from the nothin'
Don't say I didn't warm you when you see it comin'
Hell fire, brimstone, takin' you home
Came from dust, went to flesh tone and now you gone
Back to dust so in God we trust, get on the bus
Before you leave here, you never know when your time is up
Like the night your clock strikes 12, you lost your shoe
Or the carriage took your shirt to hell, what you gon' do now?
Where all my real live Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where all my hip hop Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where my true Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Now just throw your hands way up in the air
And wave 'em all around like you just don't care
And if you're here to get down
Lemme hear ya say, aw, yeah
(Aw, yeah)
Walked in the door, I asked you before
What you here for? And you shook to the core
Walked on the floor like it was a chore
And then you asked, Lord can you bless me times 4?
Na, na, na, I can't handle it
If your gonna rock, man, please bring in the gentle
Can tell by your sentiment that you weren't even feelin' it
But then, oh but I didn't it
1, 2, look out for my crew
'Cause we be rockin like and nobody knew
From our heads to our shoes, gotta keep it true
Gotta keep it righteous to Him our praise is due
To the ticktock, Souljahz don't stop
'Cause we, 'cause we bring that real hip hop
And we got the stuff to make ya head nod
And make ya, make ya body rock
Where all my real live Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where all my hip hop Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where my true Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Just throw your hands way up in the air
And wave 'em all around like you just don't care
And if you're here to get down
Lemme hear ya say, aw, yeah
(Aw yeah)
Where all my real live Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where all my hip hop Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where my true Souljahz at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Where you at?
(Right here)
Now just throw your hands way up in the air
And wave 'em all around like you just, around like you just don't care
And if you're here to get down
Lemme hear ya say Aw, yeah
and I'm cold assed too
going deeper
yes, I'm bold as you
growing wearker
I'll do my best
to patronize you
I'll get as low as you
climbing deeper
FALLING WITH THE COMING SNOW
THIS IS WHERE YOU LAND
LOWERE THEN YOU'LL EVER GO
IN THIS TOXIC WONDERLAND
everytime
I look
in the mirror
eyes reflecting you
for a reason
though it makes no sence
growing meaner
time to make amends
getting even
FALLING WITH THE COMING SNOW
THIS IS WHERE YOU END
LOWERE THEN YOU'LL EVER GO
I stand between the devil and
the deep blue sea
what do you want my lord?
I'm shaken I am stirred
I'm a prisoner in fetters
without a name
IF THER'S A GOD SEND HIM BACK
COME ALLAH AND SAVE MY ASS
I stand between the devil and
the deep blue sea
what should we say my lord?
mistaken and unheard
now your mindfucking me
whispering words
I've never heard
I'M THE BUTCHER
I'M THE LAMB
I DON'T NEED TO UNDERSTAND
I'LL GO WITH FAITH
IF IT GOES WITH ME
a day becomes a year
I'm glad that I found you
I'll do anything for you
but I'm so jealous
and when I'm on the road
you go to different parties
you try to have some fun
I feel so stupid
have I misse some fun?
to whom were you talking?
I know my feelings are wrong
someone may want to get a hold on you
you're baning your head against the wall again
he's always one step ahead
who knows what he's planning next
DO DO!
WAH!
if you only could get away
somehow someway
is there anywhere you could hide?
you've been looked after all your life
DO DO!
WAH!
I'm in the position where I've got
to put myself in
in the place of a crazy brain
if you're cunning I'm insane
SMASH ME!
SMASH IT!
YOU WON!
