What is your favorite room in your home We live in our houses spend most of our time living in them but do we enjoy and soak in the wonders of what makes our houses unique Homes are not made by builders contractors but rather the people who live in them. What I mean by this is that it is the homeowners that put their personal touches on these houses that make them our humble abodes.Last week I ran into a familiar face George Wendt. Most of you might know him from his crowning role as Norm on the hit sitcom Cheers. Now most people who run into George ask him about his role on Cheers and everything that has to do with the sitcom. I on the other hand sat down with him and talked to him about his home. I wasn't sure what to expect as for the style of home he would reside in but I had a gut feeling it wasn't an ultra modern penthouse apartment. I classified him as more of a homey lived in style kind of guy and I was bang on with my prediction although he does indulge in the finer things in life that his fortune has allowed him to buy. His home is a gorgeous farmhouse in Los Angeles. It has been said it was the original farmhouse and the land where all the surrounding houses are today were once fields where the owner of the farmhouse would plant his crop. The house was built in the 1920s and is filled with character and personality.George has been calling this farmhouse his home for quite some time now. He lives there with his wife and three of his children. Although his children are older now they still enjoy being a closeknit family. One of his favorite places in his home is his courtyard. Now I know what our northern readers are thinking How can he enjoy a space that is only available to enjoy a few months in the year Well let's remember that he lives in L.A where the sun always shines. With leading such a hectic life as an actor George surprised me by saying he only spends 2 months of the year at home. The rest of his time is spent in New York and other theater driven metropolitan. When he is away from home he stays in furnished apartments which sure beats sleeping in hotel rooms 10 months of the year.My conversation with George Wendt was such a delight He was a genuinely nice man. He even offered some words of wisdom to young professionals who are starting out in the industry Always have fun no matter what you are doing. In life and in any design project there will be times when you have to make sacrifices and you will be challenged. In order to reach your goals when it gets tough remember George's golden words Have fun As you tackle your next design project enjoy each stage of the design. Don't just look forward to the end result and dwell on the fact that it's not done as fast as you want it to be. In life things take time. You have to be patient and keep your eye on the ball. Start slowly and be prepared for anything that comes your way. So the contractor is a little late on his deadline. Look past that and be grateful that you have a good contractor that is paying extra attention to making sure the job is done right. Sometimes it is all about perspective the way you look at things.Think of it this way and when your design project comes to an end you will have plenty of years to enjoy it

Huffington Post 2015-01-05George Robert Wendt III (born October 17, 1948) is an American actor, best known for the role of Norm Peterson on the television show Cheers.
Wendt was born in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, the son of Loretta M. (née Howard) and George Robert Wendt, a navy officer and realtor. His maternal grandfather was photographer Tom Howard. He is of German and Irish descent. He attended Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He was expelled from the University of Notre Dame after a semester with a 0.00 GPA and later attended the Jesuit Rockhurst College in Kansas City, where he graduated with a B.A. in economics.
Wendt is a 1975 alumnus of The Second City, which he discovered shortly after college. A viewing had inspired him to join and on his first day of employment, he showed up promptly at 11:30 am as he was instructed. The woman working there handed him a broom and said "Welcome to the theater, kid"; thus, his first job in show business was sweeping the floors. Second City was also where he met his future wife, Bernadette Birkett, who played Cliff's Halloween date in the third season of Cheers and later in the series played the voice of Norm's never-seen wife, Vera.
Conan Christopher O'Brien (born April 18, 1963) is an American television host, comedian, writer, producer and performer. Since November 2010 he has hosted Conan, a late-night talk show that airs on the American cable television station TBS.
O'Brien was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, and raised in an Irish Catholic family. He served as president of the Harvard Lampoon while attending Harvard University, and was a writer for the sketch comedy series Not Necessarily the News. After writing for several comedy shows in Los Angeles, he joined the writing staff of Saturday Night Live, and later of The Simpsons. He hosted Late Night with Conan O'Brien from 1993 to 2009, followed by seven months hosting The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, the only person to serve as the permanent host for both NBC programs.
O'Brien was born in Brookline, Massachusetts (a suburb of Boston) to Thomas O'Brien, a physician, epidemiologist, and professor of medicine at Harvard, and Ruth O'Brien (née Reardon), an attorney and partner at the Boston firm Ropes & Gray. He is the third of six children. O'Brien's family is Irish Catholic and descends from pre-Civil War era immigrants. In a Late Night episode, O'Brien paid a visit to County Kerry, Ireland, where his ancestors originated.
Gregg "Opie" Hughes (born May 23, 1963) and Anthony Cumia (born April 26, 1961) are the hosts of The Opie & Anthony Show, a talk radio program airing in the United States and Canada on XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio. Since the merger of the two satellite companies, this is now called Sirius/XM. It is co-hosted by stand up comedian Jim Norton. Based in New York City, the show was previously on WXRK-FM and WNEW-FM in New York, and prior to that, on WAAF-FM in Boston, Massachusetts.
On April 26, 2006, Opie and Anthony returned to the terrestrial airwaves after a four year absence, replacing CBS Radio's short-lived David Lee Roth Show, which aired mainly on the eastern coast of the United States. The terrestrial portion of the show ran until March 9, 2009. The team was terminated by WXRK-FM when it flipped formats from rock to Top 40.
The Opie & Anthony Show airs weekdays live from 6am through 10am ET exclusively on XM Radio Channel 105 and Sirius Radio Channel 206 "The Opie & Anthony Channel". Replays are available throughout the day on their XM and Sirius channels and on audible.com.
