Alcatraz is an American television series created by Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt, and produced by J. J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions. The series originally premiered on Fox on January 16, 2012, as a midseason replacement. Switching between eras, the series focuses on the Alcatraz prison, which was allegedly shut down in 1963 due to unsafe conditions for its prisoners and guards. The show's premise is that both the prisoners and the guards disappeared in 1963 and have abruptly reappeared in modern-day San Francisco, where they are being tracked down by a government agency. The series stars Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia, Sam Neill and Parminder Nagra. The show was cancelled on May 9, 2012.

Jones was cast as the lead in Fox's new J.J. Abrams show, Alcatraz. The show premiered on January 16, 2012. Jones is featured in a May 2012 spread for Vanity Fair magazine.
Jones graduated from Winter Springs High School in 2001.
2007: Won the Spirit of the Independent Award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival for Best Ensemble for Still Green (2007), which she shared with Ryan Kelley, Douglas Spain, Noah Segan, Paul Costa and the rest of the cast of the film.

Through the ceiling they really mean it
She's in Alcatraz
He don't walk it and she just talks it
But nothings left unsaid
Chorus
Bail out I said Bail out
Don't look down
Bail out
It's only the ground
Under my floor he's a Warlord
And she wants out
'Ñause when she talks it he distorts it
And the Highway's in my head
Chorus
And the Highway's in her head
Chorus
Bail out
Bail out
Bail out
Steven and I hitch-hiking
Our day off to Hanover
Beat up car with young girl driving
Slow down and pull over
In the rear view mirror
Like co-conspirators we did smile
I did not know that I was running
I saw the sunlight streaming
Down on the landscape
Of my Alcatraz escape
From the sadness 'twas born in my soul
Three years passed, still I was suffering
Spent that March in Charlottesville
Saw the ghost of Thomas Jefferson
Sitting on my window sill
With his thin powdered hair
And his concubine there he did smile
I did not know that I was running
I saw the twilight gleaming
Down on the landscape
Of my Alcatraz escape
From the sadness 'twas born in my soul
I went down through the labyrinth
Of my falsified regret
Deep in flight from the light in my soul
Oh what a complicated tapestry I sewed
All that energy I wasted on my fear
All those years spent stumbling down that lonesome road
It's not very clear
How far or how near I have come
I did not know that I was running
I see the sunlight streaming
Down on the landscape....

Any two other poeple just like me and you
never seem to go through half the trouble that we do
It's the end, over and over again
when did you first begin
to be so disappointed in everything?
Could you have always been this way?
Dead to the world, as some would say,
and in such perfect disarray?
Hey, Emily
there came a time to speak your mind
you said: "goodbye"
Emily, you say goodbye
but you're still here with me
No one knows what we're wanding toward
and I suppose ignorance is its own reward
but such a lot gets ignored
you've no idea of what I'd do,
bullets that I would take for you,
and what I'd let you put me through
Hey, Emily
you see the questions that arise
you close your eyes
Emily, you close your eyes
but you're still here with me,
and I always wonder, where do you pretend to be?
Hey, Emily
if you get called to testify
you'll say "goodbye"
Emily, you say goodbye
but you're still here with me.
In the dead of night A stranger omen still The witches footprint On your window sill When hell lets loose And draws ever near A soul like ghost Will transmit fear
There's always doom for the wicked Take hold of the pain
Now lay me down on market street
Im lookin for some spare change
A coast guard ship has been lookin for me
And I might have to change my name
Here comes uncle sam again with the same old bag of beans
The local chiefs on the radio
Hes got some hungry mouths to feed
Goin back to alcatraz
Lay me back down here on the highway
One hundred and one ways to go
Solitary is so confinin
To the legend of geronimo
Oh I know I could bring the rain
Used to dance for abc
And all the braves down on death row
Are pretending to be free
Back home in alcatraz
In the land of the great white father
My american blood runs cold
I left my home in oklahoma
To the everglades I go
Its just the wings on the silver cars
And Im allowed to plow a field
Its not the life for a nineteen seventy
(what's an)indian boy to do
Goin back to alcatraz
Lay me down on market street
Im lookin for some spare change
