There is no surgery for this.
You won't wake up neatly stitched.
You have to break it off and burn it shut,
half the arrow still in your chest.
When you put your arms around someone else,
it will not curve
but tap at your bone and flirt with your softer parts.
Cupid's shooting with evil, rusty darts.
He doesn't know he's being cruel,
just hunting for sport
leaving us littered like buffalo.
On the prairie I'm down there dying watching clouds.
They look like my dog, my pillow, my teapot, my frown.
Until I'm ready to spin up in a wisp, because I can't
get up and walk away like this.
But if I lay here and collect the clouds back I can make a
heart out of nothing.
A clean steam pump steeping details
having dumped the valves of stone in Cupid's
bloody, pudgy hands I can travel light, travel light.
Cupid's shooting with evil, rusty darts.
He doesn't know he's being cruel,
just hunting for sport
leaving us littered like buffalo
leaving us littered like buffalo,
my teapot my pillow
The summer months left me alone
But the fall rolled in on the back of a storm
In the night you and I drove
Have you ever seen lightning and snow?
All these weeks without a note
It's like a ticking clock
Every time that you phone
I've run aground truth be told
And when it comes to me
I'll let you know
Don't be like that
Just my luck an Irish rose
In a drinking hole
I'd played a thousand one shows
What you need is to just go home
And when it comes to you
Don't leave it alone
Don't be like that
Up ahead the roads were closed
And the Gennys ran most of Buffalo
The customs man at border control
Said yes you can go
But you won't make it home
Shylock
A penny to a pound to a piece of flesh
You've put yourself in debt
I just won't take no less
I'm a money lending miser
Á usurer and thief
If you don't pay what you owe me
You won't get no relief
Oh Shylock, oh Shylock
Oh Shylock, oh Shylock
Pay me now, pay me now
Your daughter's gone and left you
She's married to a tramp
Your mother's still in jail
Your father's turning camp
You ain't got no excuses
I won't take no I.O.U.
If you don't soon pay me
I'm gonna have to sue
Oh Shylock, oh Shylock
Oh Shylock, oh Shylock
Pay me now, pay me now
When all of the squats have been turned into gallery spaces
and the punks out on the corner, what's that look on their faces?
It says; "What do we do, now that all of the yuppies replaced us?"
Don't worry my brother there's just one world,
but many, many, many places
Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, (Bitter)
Please, don't be. My Friend.
Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, (Bitter)
Im going back to Mitte Again
We've finally reached the point of super saturation
Our feat in the water that stands in for a border of light
Condemn and construct distrupt and give up then just sit down
Don’t worry my brother there’s just one ocean
But many many ways to displace it
Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, (Bitter)
Please, don't be. My Friend
Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, (Bitter)
Im going back to Mitte Again
I made a corporate mess
You did a free-lance shit
In the cosmic fabric of reality split;
Like a brain in two, the left and right
The voice of reason, the noise of might
Wie cann ich diese veld mit magie koncorllieren?
Don’t worry my brother, don’t worry my sister
Don’t worry my land locked wayward drifters
Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, (Bitter)
Please, don't be. My Friend
Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, Bitte, (Bitter)

Buffalo once roamed
The great expanse of our country
Now they stand in the sandbox
In the corner of the city
We had our picnics in the park
Watching the bison mope
Once a proud and noble beast
Now the butt of our bad jokes
You saw me off at the station
In your leopard print coat and hat
It was so cliche we had to laugh
Waving at me as I left
But the laughter made us sadder than the leaving could have had
In a flash I cried
Oh, goodbye girl of mine
When it came time for me to go
The buffalo had the last laugh
Waiting at the gate they sneered
They strut and pranced
How did I know I thought
A thing like that
A fling was only fleeting
An instant in the distant past
Meant to end and not to last
You saw me off at the station
In your leopard print coat and hat
it was sp cliche we had to laugh
Waving at me as I left
But the laughter made us sadder than the leaving could have had
In a flash I cried
Goodbye girl, it was a time
What a time, a time to remember
Something that good
Can't last forever
But now I wonder if
It might have at all
As the train passed away, it hit me
What I really would be missing
Leaving was not bitter or sweet
Snow came up Friday, I gotta go
Spending winter up in Buffalo
Someone I met there is calling me so
Got to escape the blues man, don't you know
Days of sinking summer packed up and gone
Nothing helps me, there's nothing wrong
It was so pleasant, incandescent, it's over now
We should get going
Lady I know there, name of Christina
Six lonely lifetimes since I've seen her
She takes you places your heart cannot go
During the winter up in Buffalo
Days by her fire, dazed in the glow
Winter surrounds us up in Buffalo
Days of drowsy pleasure in the afternoon dark
We drift together, we drift apart
She's got the wherewithal, she's got the knowledge
It's wonderful
I should be going
Out there the Snow Queen is kidnapping boys
Her block-of-ice heart tunes out the noise
And soft in the bedroom her eyes indigo
Sleeping in the winter in Buffalo
Here is a lesson, stop trying to impress them
The look on her face is like, "No, no, no, no, no!"
Question answer question. No, question answer question
No one cares who you know know, know, know, know, know
Here is a lesson, stop trying to impress them
The look on her face is like, "No, no, no, no, no!"
Know who you are before you claim you're a star
For now, we are all just like, "No, no, no and no!"
And all that you said to me has left me with anxiety
Let's just keep this underneath
You speak of me in disbelief
This ain't no fucking day job
I don't just sit around
Counting all my money
This is how you go out
I don't just sit around
Counting all my money
This is how you go out
You go out like a bang
I envision your brain like a crashing car
The cable it just snaps holding up the elevator
This ain't no fucking day job
I don't just sit around
This is how you go out
You go out like a bang
Here is a lesson, stop trying to impress them
The look on her face is like, "No, no, no, no, no!"
Question answer question. No, question answer question

Hello, my name is Jon fucking Mess
I wrote the script on getting you out of your dress
Would you like to go out sometime?
I'll tear open your body and break down your emotional guard
'Cause I like love, and it's no good to me if you don't reciprocate the feeling
If you don't give back, I'm crushed, I'll go out drinking
Go out drinking, drinking
Drinking, drinking
Drinking, drinking
Drinking, drinking
My shadow left my mind and went a walkin' 'round and found a nickel on the ground
And the buffalo upon one side he got up and walked away
And the indian upon the other side gave out a sigh and said thats better now
Without the buffalo
Without the buffalo x 2
Without the buffalo im just and indian
I'm free and clear
The indian went walkin' 'round and sat upon the Hill to watch the sun go down
But he couldnt find his people, he got up and walked away
And he sat beside the fire, and gave out a sigh We're all forgotten now
Where is my tomahawk
My days are gone
Where is my tent
Where is my planting ground
Where is my land
This reservation's wrong
Whose this white man
My people never smile
Where is my brother
My children ignorant
Where is my squaw
"You see any buffalo?"
"No"
i killed the indians with my
four-wheel drives and my shopping centers
i paved over their mass graves!
i moved their decendants on to
a barren land and got them
drunk on budweiser!
like medusa, turning men into stone
i turned the indian into wood
and stood him outside
He'll never tell you anything
Not even a joke
He used to haves faces
For all of his places
Now he walks with a limp
You can find her down a dusty road
she keeps a stutter polished for company
And pretends to be deaf in one ear
And she's been watching the same road
For fifteen years
Wating
The sun will rise and fall
They just want to lay down now
So long through all these years
No words said and no bells sound it out
Just one thought through all time
Snow came up Friday, I gotta go
Spending winter up in Buffalo
