The Tribune is Palmerston North's Window to the Community. A free community newspaper, distributed on a Wednesday, it is the ultimate guide to what's happening within Palmerston North and the wider community.

The Tribune's main focus is community news and great photos. It is aimed at being an information source for a wide range of people and publishes regular columns for community organisations. The weekly 'What's On' notices page is a comprehensive listing of community events and activities.

When considering advertising in Manawatu make sure you include The Tribune in your mix.

Every Wednesday 43,268 copies are distributed free to all homes in Palmerston North and Ashhurst. Copies are also delivered to dairies and stores as far afield as Marton, Bulls, Sanson, Woodville, Pahiatua, Foxton (including Foxton Beach) and Shannon.
It is also distributed to rural & Feilding subscribers of the Manawatu Standard. 

Each week 49,000 readers reach for The Tribune to be informed about what's on in the community. 

Each month The Tribune publishes a separate publication called 'enjoy'. A specific entertainment and events guide for Manawatu and beyond. This publication is supported by all major entertainment and arts organisations in the city and promotes theatre, dining, arts, leisure, events and education. This is delivered free with The Tribune on the last Wednesday of every month.

Newspaper Display Advertising
Display advertising is located throughout the publication and utilises size, colour, illustration and typography to attract the reader's attention. Display advertising is primarily found in the editorial sections but can also be placed within classified sections if deemed appropriate and relevant.

You can request a preferred position within the newspaper for a fee or choose "run of paper" whereby the advertisement is placed in any position in the paper at our discretion. Opting for run of paper generally results in a reduced charge to an advertiser.

Classified Advertising
Classifieds are advertising only pages across a number of different categories e.g for sale, trade services or situations vacant.

Premium Positions
Advertisers are able to purchase, subject to availability, front page solus, premium and unique positions. Size, availability and price are subject to request and availability.

Run of Paper from 4cm deep to 7 cols (27.62 cm) wide and up to 40cm deep to 7 cols wide

Classified from 2cm deep to 8 columns (28.79 cm) wide and up to 40cm x 8 cols

Run of Paper (ROP)

The Tribune is published as one book each Wednesday. Sections within the book include Community, Puzzles, Opinion, Gardening, Weather; What's on Notices, Classified Notices/ Advertisements and the Tribune Trade notices.

Advertorials
The Tribune do not publish advertorials. We do accept reader advertisements.

Reader advertisements must be entirely contained within a ruled border of a thickness no less than 5pt.

  1. The text may be set in ordinary news type.
  2. The word ADVERTISEMENT must be set in 14pt capitals and in bold, and must be placed inside the border at the top left-hand corner of the advertisement or centred at the top of the advertisement.
  3. Reader advertisements can be placed on any page other than the first five pages of Section A in any of our sections.
  4. Minimum pt size for reverse block and colour is 8pt.
