Sushi (すし, 寿司, 鮨, 鮓, 寿斗, 寿し, 壽司?) is a Japanese food consisting of cooked vinegared rice (shari) combined with other ingredients (neta). Neta and forms of sushi presentation vary, but the ingredient which all sushi have in common is shari. The most common neta is seafood.
Raw meat sliced and served by itself is sashimi.
The original type of sushi, known today as nare-zushi (馴れ寿司, 熟寿司), was first developed in Southeast Asia, and spread to south China before introduction to Japan. The term sushi comes from an archaic grammatical form no longer used in other contexts; literally, sushi means "sour-tasting", a reflection of its historic fermented roots. The oldest form of sushi in Japan, narezushi, still very closely resembles this process, wherein fish is fermented via being wrapped in soured fermenting rice. The fish proteins break down via fermentation into its constituent amino acids. The fermenting rice and fish results in a sour taste and also one of the five basic tastes, called umami in Japanese. In Japan, narezushi evolved into oshizushi and ultimately Edomae nigirizushi, which is what the world today knows as "sushi".

Plot
Aging New York cabbie Flanagan still has hopes of making it as a stage actor. He can recite any Shakespeare sonnet and is facile with accents, but he can't land an agent or a job. During the course of one summing-it-all-up day, he drives his cab around the city dealing with fare evaders, an insolent stage manager determined to keep him from auditioning for his choice director, his estranged wife who has a new lover, his mistress who seems awfully close to her "drawing teacher", and two teenage sons whose bright visions of the future don't seem to include jobs. If he can only cope with all the annoyances of this day, maybe he can deal with the limitations in his abilities and his future.

In the morning I'll go down the graveyard
To make sure you're gone for good
To make sure you won't hurt again
May you rest in peace
Poney riding, sushi cooking
May you be where you wanted
Oh we talked about it
After 1 or 2 beers
And the worst days that life brings
All the bad movies and all the earthquakes
All the worst days are just buried into the snow
Holy water
Plastic flowers
At the end you got what you got what you are
Always running after, always running after
And the worst days that life brings
All the bad movies and all the earthquakes
All the worst days are just burried into the snow
And the worst days that life brings
All the bad movies and all the earthquakes
Wooh! Wooh!
I'm swimming in the ocean
Of pillow case blue
And I sink so deep in you
You gonna save me or not?
Could we have a moment?
Could we have a moment?
It feels so real
I'm picking out a blossom
I pin it on the wall
It feels so real, so real
Wooh! Wooh!
I'm giving you a haircut
Walking to the sushi bar
Shopping at the goodwill
Learning how to swing dance
And I sink so deep in you
You gonna save me or not?
Could we have a moment?
Could we have a moment?
It feels so real
I'm picking out a blossom
I pin it on the wall
It feels so real
It feels so real
Wooh! Wooh!

Of pillow case blue
And I sink so deep in you
You gonna save me or not?
You gonna save me or not?
You gonna save me or not?
