At Least 9 Measles Cases Linked to Visits to Disneyland, Disney California ... ANAHEIM, Calif. – Some recent visitors to Disneyland left the theme park with a souvenir they won’t forget. Public health officials in California and Utah confirmed nine cases of the measles on Wednesday. All of the patients were visitors to either Disneyland or the Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim. Disneyland says it is working with the health department to investigate a measles outbreak linked to the park. Health officials say there have been seven confirmed cases of measles in California. Two other confirmed cases were reported in Utah and three other suspected cases are being investigated in California. Experts say all the patients visited Disneyland between Dec. 15 and Dec. 20. Most children have had their vaccinations, but there has been a movement by some parents to stop vaccinations in recent years. State statistics show personal belief exemptions from the shots by California kindergartners rose from 1.56 percent in 2007 to 2.79 percent in 2012. In six of the seven confirmed cases from Disneyland, the patients had not had the measles vaccination. However, two of those children were not old enough to receive the treatment.
