This is Roger, and he was just rescued. He was scheduled to be euthanized. Roger is in perfect health, but needs to be neutered before he can be placed in a no kill shelter. There are a lot of things that I didn't cover so I could keep the video brief, but this will give you an idea of what to expect when you take your dog to be neutered.

I have a super vet, she had a technician film Toby's neutering, the first time a vet ever agreed to do this for me.
Definition of neutering: the surgical removal of a mouse's testicles. Once a mouse is neutered his quality of life hugely improves because now he can live with other mice, something that is very important for a social animal. A neutered mouse can live with females without producing tons of babies. He also can live with other neutered males. He makes a much better pet because he no longer marks territory and no longer produces the characteristic strong smelling urine of an intact male mouse.

Watch as Big Cat Rescue staff and volunteers neuter TJ the tiger. TJ was rescued from Savage Kingdom that was a well known breeding facility producing what we call "throw away tigers" so many tigers are born lame and cross eyed from the inbreeding that's required in order to produce white tigers. Whilst we were neutering TJ we took the opportunity to do a full examination of him which included taking blood for analysis and giving him an I.D microchip. Big Cat Rescue is thankful to our volunteer vet: Dr. Liz Wynn, DVM.

Doc Pawsitive, Clair Thompson, "Leader of the Pack" at East Stroudsburg Veterinary Hospital and PAWS/Pocono Animal Wellness Services is shown in this video clip performing a neuter procedure on a young male cat. The entire process is quite brief once the cat has been anesthesized and prepped for surgery, the preparation time actually exceeds the surgery time with male cats and dogs since in males the surgery is not an intra-abdominal surgery as in females. Doc Pawsitive typically neuters male cats at 6-9 months of age, after their urinary tract has matured somewhat but prior to the onset of undesirable male behaviors that cat owners worry about most, including urine marking or spraying. Neutering at a young age almost guarantees the prevention of urine marking in male cats, as well as rendering them unable to reproduce and impregnate female cats. Neutering male cats also makes them less likely to want to roam outside, reduces inter-cat/inter-male aggression and fighting behavior and even eliminates the strong, pungent urine odor that develops in intact, mature male cats. A cat neuter surgery is a same-day surgery at our hospital requiring a 12 hour fast at home prior to surgery, patients can be dropped off in the morning the day of surgery and will be bright, alert and ready to go home later that same afternoon. Post operative restrictions are not necessary after a male cat neuter and all cat neuters receive an injection of a longacting antibiotic at the surgery to eliminate the need for owners to administer any medications at home. Please feel free to call either of our offices, East Stroudsburg Veterinary Hospital or PAWS/Pocono Animal Wellness Services, at 570-421-0931 or 570-588-1000 to ask any further questions or to schedule your pet for an examination prior to undergoing any surgical procedure. Max just reached 11 month old and get neutered today. It is so sad to hear him whining. Hope he will getting better in couple days.

I have a super vet, she had a technician film Toby's neutering, the first time a vet ever agreed to do this for me.
Definition of neutering: the surgical removal of a mouse's testicles. Once a mouse is neutered his quality of life hugely improves because now he can live with other mice, something that is very important for a social animal. A neutered mouse can live with females without producing tons of babies. He also can live with other neutered males. He makes a much better pet because he no longer marks territory and no longer produces the characteristic strong smelling urine of an intact male mouse.

The entire process is quite brief once the cat has been anesthesized and prepped for surgery, the preparation time actually exceeds the surgery time with male cats and dogs since in males the surgery is not an intra-abdominal surgery as in females. Doc Pawsitive typically neuters male cats at 6-9 months of age, after their urinary tract has matured somewhat but prior to the onset of undesirable male behaviors that cat owners worry about most, including urine marking or spraying. Neutering at a young age almost guarantees the prevention of urine marking in male cats, as well as rendering them unable to reproduce and impregnate female cats. Neutering male cats also makes them less likely to want to roam outside, reduces inter-cat/inter-male aggression and fighting behavior and even eliminates the strong, pungent urine odor that develops in intact, mature male cats. A cat neuter surgery is a same-day surgery at our hospital requiring a 12 hour fast at home prior to surgery, patients can be dropped off in the morning the day of surgery and will be bright, alert and ready to go home later that same afternoon. Post operative restrictions are not necessary after a male cat neuter and all cat neuters receive an injection of a longacting antibiotic at the surgery to eliminate the need for owners to administer any medications at home. Please feel free to call either of our offices, East Stroudsburg Veterinary Hospital or PAWS/Pocono Animal Wellness Services, at 570-421-0931 or 570-588-1000 to ask any further questions or to schedule your pet for an examination prior to undergoing any surgical procedure.
