In 2008 Saunders qualified for the Beijing Olympics in the Welterweight division at the age of 18. Saunders qualified at the European area qualifier in Pescara, Italy. He beat European champion Andrey Balanov and Kakhaber Zhvania, he lost his semi to Oleksandr Stretskyy before beating the Slovakian, Pavol Hlavacka for the all-important third spot. He went to Beijing as the first person from the British Romany Gypsy community to qualify for the games, where he was defeated in the second round of the welterweight division. He was subsequently suspended for "lewd behaviour", allegedly pertaining to an incident with a local woman during a pre-season training camp in France. After being promoted to Single-A Cedar Rapids in 2002, he missed the entire 2003 season due to an injury in his left shoulder. He returned to the game with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga in 2004 and went 9-7 with a 3.41 ERA. He was promoted to Double-A Arkansas in 2004, and recorded a 7-4 record with two complete games in 2005.
Saunders was promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake and was 10-7 with three complete games, including two shutouts, earning honors as the Angels Organization's Pitcher of the Year. There's guns across the river aimin' at ya
Lawman on your trail, he'd like to catch ya
Bounty hunters, too, they'd like to get ya
Billy, they don't like you to be so free.
Campin' out all night on the berenda
Dealin' cards 'til dawn in the hacienda
Up to Boot Hill they'd like to send ya
Billy, don't you turn your back on me.
Playin' around with some sweet senorita
Into her dark hallway she will lead ya
In some lonesome shadows she will greet ya
Billy, you're so far away from home.
There's eyes behind the mirrors in empty places
Bullet holes and scars between the spaces
There's always one more notch and ten more paces
Billy, and you're walkin' all alone.
They say that Pat Garrett's got your number
So sleep with one eye open when you slumber
Every little sound just might be thunder
Thunder from the barrel of his gun.
Guitars will play your grand finale
Down in some Tularosa alley,
Maybe in the Rio Pecos valley
Billy, you're so far away from home.
There's always some new stranger sneakin' glances
Some trigger-happy fool willin' to take chances
And some old whore from San Pedro to make advances
Advances on your spirit and your soul.
The businessmen from Taos want you to go down
They've hired Pat Garrett to force a showdown.
Billy, don't it make ya feel so low-down
To be shot down by the man who was your friend?
Hang on to your woman if you got one
Remember in El Paso, once, you shot one.
She may have been a whore, but she was a hot one
Billy, you been runnin' for so long.
Guitars will play your grand finale
Down in some Tularosa alley
Maybe in the Rio Pecos valley
Donnez-moi le monde un jour
Et tout ce qu'il faut pour
Ecrire une chanson
Donnez-moi des choses a dire
A ceux qui vont souffrir
Pendant que nous dansons
Give me the world for one day
And all I need to
Write a song
Give me things to say
To those who will suffer
While we're dancing
Toi qui habite mon coeur
Pour doubler mon bonheur
Il suffirait demain
Que ce monde en dechirure
Pour guerir ses blessures
Se trouve un magicien
You that lives inside my heart
To double my happiness
It would enough tomorrow
That this world torn away
To heal its wounds
Find itself a magician
Billy pourvu que tu m'aimes
Que mon nom s'enroule a ton nom
Si les gens s'aiment
Comme nous nous aimons
Les magiciens reviendront
Billy as long as you love me
That my name coils around your name
If people love each other
Like we love each other
The magicians will come back
Je suis nee pres de la source
Et j'ai vu la Grande Ourse
Au ciel de ma maison
J'ai rencontre des bergers
Qui m'ont fait voyager
Bien plus que de raison
I was born near the spring
And I saw The Great Bear
At the sky of my house
I met with shepherds
Who made me travel
Much more than reason
Et s'il existe la-bas des coins
Ou quelques fois les deserts ont fleuri
C'est que tout est dans nos mains
Et que l'on ne peut rien pour arreter la vie
And if it still exists out there some places
Where sometimes deserts turned into flowers
That's because everything is in our hands
And that we can't do a thing to stop life
Billy pourvu que tu m'aimes
Que mon nom s'enroule a ton nom
Si les gens s'aiment
Comme nous nous aimons
Les magiciens reviendront
Billy as long as you love me
That my name coils around your name
If people love each other
Like we love each other
The magicians will come back
Donnez-moi le monde un jour
Et tout ce qu'il faut pour

Donnez-moi des choses a dire
A ceux qui vont souffrir
Pendant que nous dansons
Give me the world for one day
And all I need to
Write a song
Give me things to say
To those who will suffer
While we're dancing
S'il y a des faiseurs de pluie
On peut trouver aussi
Des faiseurs de beau temps
Donnez-leur le monde un jour
Et vous verrez que l'amour
Ca peut durer longtemps
If there still are rain makers
We can also find
Beautiful days makers
Give them the world for a day
And you'll see that love
Can last long
Billy pourvu que tu m'aimes
Que mon nom s'enroule a ton nom
Si les gens s'aiment

Billy we've come along way together and through it all
You've been just like a brother to me
And Billy we've had our share of ups and downs froze our tails sleeping on the ground
When the jobs were few and far between
We've been knocking around together so long singing them same old songs
Been out in the rain so long I swear we're shrinking
Billy lately I have done some thinking when I look back on our lives
We've sure had ourself a time
But you know it's been a wild world we traveled
And it's startin' to unravel we leave so many loose ends behind
We've been bucked off and kicked so many times
And the ground just keeps gettin' harder
Billy you know well as I we ain't gettin' no younger
[ harmonica ]
Billy another summer's come and gone now with winter coming on
I know we planned on heading south
But Billy I thought about it several days and these words I'm about to say
They don't taste good in my mouth
But there's someone who's waiting back home Lord if she'll still have me
Guess I'll be saying so long you go on without me
Ain't no easy way of saying goodbye
I can recall the warm youth of a summer day, yeah:
The sweetest lemonade, the darkest game arcade,
And Billy had a yearning in the corner of his mind.
It moved him secretly. It moved him powerfully.
But prescience was lacking and the present was not all
And his aptitudes were carelessly wasted.
And challenging life with the abandon of a fool,
He squandered the hours of his day.
Then darkness and disorder slapped him sharply in the face, yeah.
It hit him like a friend, struck something deep within.
He couldn't break the chain of slow decay that seemed to drag him
Just like a fatal tie toward the other side.
And Billy was a lunatic, just barking at the moon,
And his brain was totally wasted.
He then exchanged his friends for a needle and a spoon
And he threw his future away.
Bolt the door and throw away the key.
Your dim reflection is all that you can see.
So where is the justice when no one is at fault
And a human life is tragically wasted?
How fragile is the flame that burns within us all
Billy was a good friend of mine
We grew up together ever since we were nine
We went to school, he was my best friend
And I thought our friendship would never end
In highschool he played football
And me, I didn't do anything at all
He made touch-downs, while I played pool
And no one could figure out, which one of us was the fool
Then we both went to collage
He studied medicine, while I studied foilage
He got "A's", and I got "D's"
He was going for his P.H.D.
The I decided to drop out
Then I decided to drop out
Things were getting a little to hot
Billy stayed there, became an intern, then a doctor
Then war broke out and he had to go
But not me, I was mentally unfit or so they say, so, so
When he came back, he wasn't quite the same
His nerves were shot, but not me
Last time I saw him, I couldn't take it anymore
He wasn't the Billy I knew, it was like talking to a door
Billy was a friend of mine
I grew up with him ever since we were nine
We went together to school
I know little billy from the small time town
Ma and pa meant well but they just weren't around
But he would learn what little they had taught
They told him, heaven is hard but hell is not
He remembers papa's words before he died
He said, word hard son, you must change the tide
Before our people have liberation, you can never rest
On your shoulders, lies our future boy, so do your best
Do more than your best
Never forgot the burden of his father's words
He lost his own life and lived the world's
No one told billy theres somethings one man just can't do
Takes time to forgive and equality to take more before it's through
Just takes time
But still billy went down to the big time town
Hoping to find some justice there,
But God how it all seems cynical through the eyes of despair
He no longer saw in color, he only saw black and white
There were never people behind thses faces
Until he realized one man can't win
Can't win this fight
So billy went back to small time town
He got a life and he settled down
He teaches children who never really thought
He told them, heaven is hard and hell is
Heaven is hard and hell is
Hell is not worth fighting for.

Eh-yo, man, fuckin'..

[RZA:]
Yo, yo, yo, Billy
He sniffed dope and swallow acid, took cokes of cold classics
Smoked hashes, tote plastic glocks and low jackets
Cross country, cousin Billy with forty monkeys
Twenty honkeys, Harley Davidson bike junkies
In a convoy escapin' from Rosco Pico
And those four redneck cops who had Woppy in a sleephold
The SWAT team, U.S. army shock team
The snipers who shot King, infrared dot beams
Aimed at windshields, gas tanks and wheels
From the bank they yanked the mil, hot lead and stainless steel
Shot through the helments, cracked heads like halibut jaw
Ripped through the wolves and blew the hood off the car
A.T.F., F.B.I., D.E.A., chopper in the sky
Eye witness news on standby
Built to tell, it was Mit from the metly metly
Teeth dipped in P.C.P., hit to the head like a D.D.T.
Hard on the gut like liq' B.L.T.
C-cipher punks with the A.P.B.
Only destroys who was drunk of the J.N.B.
Ran up in A&P;, hit the safe at P&C;
Documentary on A&E;, eight P.M. E.S.T.
Five P.T., the ho tapin' on V.C.R.
Three victims shot, one was saved by C.P.R.
Fuckin' Billy be wildin'
Like Robert L. Lee on Storwall Jackson
He always out for action
I was at an eighteen hole golf course relaxin'
When I received the collect call, BOODOODOODOO
Collect call from cousin Billy
[Phone Skit: RZA ("Billy")]
(Eh-yo, Bobby, I'm in trouble)
Yo, what's goin' on, cousin?
What the fuck, man?
(Listen, yo I need fifty thousand)
Oh sh--, eh-yo, Kinetic
Check it out, nigga said he need fifty fuckin' g's Son
(Listen, yo, we got into a fight
In the bar, shit was just crazy)
Eh-yo, I heard you was fuckin' with the white boy Tommy again
Takin' that acid, nigga
(Yeah, oh yeah, we chillin' though
I just need you to come get me, for real)
No problem, son
Yo, I'll send my nigga Kinetic down to get you and shit (Aight)
Billy left on Friday night with twenty dollars cash
Had a thousand more and a diamond on his hand when he got back
I don't know
Just where Billy got that dough
Saturday he spent in style, drinks were on the house
Lincoln here, and a Jackson there suspicions were aroused
A dime was dropped and a name was named, a body soon was found
Travelin' Bible salesman on his monthly trip to town
Three bullet holes, a .38 gun took his soul
What do you know? No diamond ring, no money roll
A quick investigation, they dragged Billy to the station
And broke him down with the third degree
His alibi unraveled, judge Riley banged his gavel
A 12-man jury all agreed, so he must be guilty
I knew Billy spent that night winning big at cards
And the salesman was a married man who broke my sisters heart
Billy sits in Leavenworth waiting for the gas
And I know lots of other things but no one ever asked
So they'll never know, swear to God they'll never know
I've got a piece of you all that you don't like to see
I know you so well, I'm not surprised when you lie to me
I'm no good because I'm what I want to be
I'm no good because I'm what I want to be
I've found another waste of time
I've found another waste of time
I'm out on a limb you would like to trim that tree
I'm out on a limb you would like to trim that tree
And I'm no good because I'm what I want to be
I'm no good because I'm what I want to be
I've found another waste of time
I've found another waste of time
I've found another waste of time
What you can't stand is that it is mine
I'm out on a limb you would like to trim that tree
I'm out on a limb you would like to trim that tree
I'm out on a limb you would like to trim that tree
I'm out on a limb you would like to trim that tree
Beats you black and blue
Beats you black and blue
Beats you black and blue
Beats you black and blue
Beats you black and blue
Beats you black and blue
Beats you black and blue
Beats you black and blue
Billy is a new man, he does the best he can
to figure out what it's about and what thehell he's meant to be.
He does the right thing when expected, nuff
respect , once in a while he likes a smoke and a joke, just as long as it's P.C.
And he thinks that he cries at the Movies
'Cos he's in touch with his feminine side
Sally wants a proud man
Sally wants a proud man
Sally wants a proud man
But she's taken all his pride
Billy is a new man, at least when she's around,a model father or if needed, he'll
be mother for the day,
He watches "Men Behaving Badly" though
he'll gladly switch it off if she's offended
he'll pretend it wasn't funny any way
He's got one face he keeps for his woman
And one for when he's out with the guys
Sally wants a true man
Sally wants a true man
Sally wants a true man
But he's living out a lie
Better go and find an analyst, or something
time for sorting out his head
Better go and find a book to read about it
just like his daddy never did
And he reads Marie Claire at the Doctors just
in case there is something he should know
Sally wants a free man
Sally wants a free man
Sally wants a free man
But she will not let him go
Billy is confused, he feels abusive and abused
he's got one hand on an olive branch
the other on his crotch
He drives a sensible coupe, he thinks Oasis
are OK, he drinks non alcoholic lager though
he'd rather drink a scotch
And he tries very hard to be happy but there
are a few little things in the way
Billy wants a good girl and a bad girl and ablonde girl, and a brunette or a Bond girl and
a house maid and a teas maid and a Frenchmaid, yes a sex aid, and a Goddess and aconfidante, a wet nurse and an agony aunt,
a lover, mother, baby sitter, a young girl with a
pretty face and smart but not too smart to love
an arsehole, yeah, an arsehole, Billy wants to be
an arsehole, singin'
Billy wants it all now
Billy wants it all now
Billy wants it all now
But he's too ashamed to say
Sally wants a Superman
Sally wants a Superman
Sally wants a Superman
(Small, Powers *)
Billy and me we've been friends since '65
Thought there were days that would never end
Man we were so alive
Now I'm bald with a little bit older gone our separate ways
Hey boy if you're still out there I'm thinking about you today.
Oh where does the time go, oh where does the time go.
Billy was a fighter yea you could knock them out
Whenever I got myself in trouble you taught them what a friend was about
But now I hear he's moved up north with his wife and kids
Hey boy if you're still out there I was a remembering.
Oh where does the time go, oh where does the time go.
Keeps on slipping away, oh yea
Nothing stays the same, oh no.
Oh⦠me and Billy
He's the man without a plan
To shake it up and set you down again
A Bo Diddley walk a no more messing round the block
A seventeen watts is a all of what you got
So take me out and mess me 'round
I don't want style without a sound
It ain't clean but dig the scene
I heard the message now the message is mine
I heard the man, he bought the news
It came in loud and out of tune
Now I sleep like a bus conductor and dribbles like a dog
A double timing scratch to find the sound I'm thinking of
So take me out and mess me 'round
I don't want style without a sound
It ain't clean but dig the scene
I heard the message now the message is mine
Urgh all night, just be there
It don't make sense, think I care?
I heard the message, the message is mine
Billy went away this evening
There was no letter nothing to say
All he left was a goldfish in a bowl
Sally could not believe the half empty house that was now just hers
Billy must have a black hole for her soul
Billy went away
Billy went away
She cried to her daddy why'd he leave this way
Billy went away
Billy went away
I wish that he'd come home
Sally took hard to drinking
She never got home before three
Sleeping became a thing of the past
She went over every scenario
What did I do to make him go
I always thought we'd be the ones who last
Since he went away
Since he went away
She kept to herself and avoided the day
Since he went away
Since he went away
She wished that he'd come home
Sally went to the cupboard
She knew she left some whiskey there
She pulled down every can from every shelf
In the back she found pictures of Billy
Naked with 43 other women
And the last one was a picture of herself
Billy did stray
Billy did stray
Well no not her she just turned 16 today
Billy did stray
Billy strayed
Some of these pictures were taking in our home
It was almost two months later
Sally heard the telephone ring
She picked it up and said a happy hello
Her tone changed when she heard Billy
Said hey baby I want to come home
She said oh no Billy, oh no
Since you went away
Since you went away
I found your little pictures what you got to say
Since you went away
Since you went away
I slept with your cousin and your best friend Jay
Since you went away
Since you went away
I prayed every day that you'd stay away
Since you went away
Since you went away
Billy left home one morning, he walked right out the door
He said goodbye to his former life, and he never came back no more
Oh Billy...there's anger in your heart
Oh Billy...there's madness in your eyes
He took his favourite handgun, with his rifle he felt free
He cleaned them all the night before, he was armed as he could be
Oh Billy...there's anger in your heart
Oh Billy...there's sadness in your eyes
'Cos it's a sad world, where there's no one
Who can reach out, to the source of your pain
Yes it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
When only peace comes, at the end of a gun
Whoa...oh
He found the tallest building, like a bird's nest in the sky
He shed a tear as he took his aim, at the people passing by
Oh Billy...there's anger in your heart
Oh Billy...there's sadness in your eyes
Well it's a sad world, where there's no one
Who can reach out, to the source of your pain
Yes it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
When only peace comes, at the end of a gun
Whoa...oh
Before he pulled the trigger, he knelt as if to pray
And at the top of the church he will never be found
Since he took his life that day
Oh Billy...there's anger in your heart
Ah Billy...there's sadness in your eyes
'Cos it's a sad world, where there's no one
Who can reach out, to the source of your pain
Yes it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
When only peace comes, at the end of a gun
Yes it's a sad world, when there's no one
Who can hold you when you just need to cry
And it's a sad sad world when there's no one
Who would care if, if you live or you die
And it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
Billy knows who he wants to be,
He wants to be a non-entity.
The thing about Billy is he ain't too bright,
He don't open his eyes or he sees the light.
Billy, get a life!
(x3)
Billy!
Billy wake up before it's too late.
So for every rich guy there's a Billy-no-mates.
The thing about Billy is he ain't too bright,
He don't open his eyes or he sees the light.
Billy, get a life!
(x3)
Billy's leaving today (don't know where he's going).
Holds his head in disgrace (he can't escape the truth).
He knows the price that he's paid.
He admits that it's too late to admit that he's afraid.
Tomorrow comes. Sorrow becomes his soul mate.
The damage is done. The prodigal son is too late.
Old doors are closed but he's always open,
To relive time in his mind.
Oh Billy.
Billy's leaving today (don't know where he's going).
He's got lines on his face (they tell the story of his pain).
He accepts it's his fate.
He admits it took too long to admit that he was wrong.
Tomorrow comes. Sorrow becomes his soul mate.
The damage is done. The prodigal son is too late.
Old doors are closed but he's always open,
To relive time in his mind.
Oh Billy.
Once he was a lover sleeping with another.
Now he's just known as a cheat.
And he wish he'd had a mirror; looked a little clearer.
Seen into the eyes of the weak.
Tomorrow comes. Sorrow becomes his soul mate.
The damage is done. The prodigal son is too late.
Old doors are closed but he's always open,
To relive time in his mind.
the bill of rights! the bill of rights!
the bill of rights is bullshit!!!
its nothing but a bunch of lies!
so won't you realize!
that it's all just fucking shit!
and I can't take any of it ahh!
[Chorus]
you just might end up dead!
just for something you said!
i know it aint right!
but we got no fucking rights!
Billy came from the east
You came from the sea
Came with a heart full of hope
And a head full of dreams
I danced in your arms
And then in your arms I did sleep
And you promised me
Never would I ever weep
Wake up, Billy my love
I'm goin' away
I can't stand to see you
Dyin' this way
Your dreams aren't your own, now
They belong to the habit you keep
They belong to the needle
The serum, the sleep
Billy, a letter that came
Said you passed away
Arms so shot full of holes
No life they could hold
I'll cut off your limbs
And bury your body at sea
And leave your arms on the shore
For the buzzards to eat
Billy, you came from the east
You came from the sea
Came with a heart full of hope
And a head full of dreams
Go rest in peace, now
On the bed of the ocean you'll sleep
And you never will wake
Billy
Ruby Paul Original
Never again I say never again
I took you back once, won’t forgive you again
Oh Billy, you deceived me
Never again, I say never again
I trusted you once I won’t trust you again
Oh Billy, you betrayed me
CHORUS All the fun we had
All the friends we shared
All the love I gave
You just threw it all away
And it’s never again I say never again
I won’t be a fool for your loving again
Oh Billy
Never again I say never again
My life is in rags, torn apart at the seams
Oh Billy
You deceived me
Never again I say never again
I gave you my heart, leave me all that remains
Oh Billy
It’s like you’ve robbed me
CHORUS All the fun we had
All the friends we shared
All the love I gave
You just threw it all away
And it’s never again I say never again
I won’t be a fool for your loving again
Oh Billy
You tell me that you love me, Billy
Tell me you still want me, Billy
Take the pleading look out of your eyes
I tell you that it’s over, Billy
We can go no further, Billy
Nothing you can say will change my mind…
CHORUS All the fun we had
All the friends we shared
All the love I gave
You just threw it all away
And it’s never again I say never again
I won’t be a fool for your loving again
Oh Billy
It was the midnight hour when the boy broke out of Frisco
Running scared he's moving from the heat
The electric chair was the sentence there
But they didn't take the time or care to see
That it wasn't Billy, it wasn't Billy
It wasn't Billy, Billy
They call him public enemy number one
But they don't know what's going on
They call him public enemy number one
But they don't know what's going on
Well I'm cruising in a car heading down the main street
To see my girl, she's waiting there for me
The cops are tailing with their sirens wailing
But the one thing they can see is there ain't just Billy, oh no
I'm gonna race this car get away from here
Start a new life, there'll be no more fear for me, no, no, no
They call him public enemy number one
But they don't know what's going on
They call him public enemy number one
But they don't know what's going on with me
I'll tell you girl if we make it to the borderline
We will be free
Just you and me
I swear I will make you mine till the end of our time
Now Billy's got a gun and he's heading for the border
Moving fast they're almost in the clear
Police are waiting with an ambush, saying
There ain't nothing passing here, not even Billy, oh, no, no
They're gunning Billy down in the middle of the street
I'm runnning full of lead and his girl begins to scream, oh, no, no, no
They call him public enemy number one
But they don't know what's going on
They call him public enemy number one
But they don't know what's going on
They call him public enemy number one
They gotta shoot to kill 'cause he's on the run
They call him public enemy number one
They call him Billy
They call him Billy
They call him Billy
I dont believe you
My ears hear words from your mouth
I chew them up and spit them out
And youve been trying way too hard
And got so much to prove
When all you gotta do is do the things you gotta do
But you aint doing anything
You aint proving anything
And next to everything you dont exist
So unclench your fist
You dont know where youre going
You dont know where youre from
You tried to keep warm by getting too close to the sun
When Im straight with you
I get one more excuse
Am I a friend or a fool?
If you ask me to
Then I'll tell the truth
But if you dont then I
I wont say anything
You wont hear anything
And it wont be a lie
Its like the musics just too loud
But you refuse to turn it down
Youre undercover but
Somewhere deep inside of you
I see another side of you
But you wont let it out of you
And next to everything you dont exist
So unclench your fist
You dont know where youre going
You dont know where youre from
You tried to keep warm by getting too close to the sun
When Im straight with you
I get one more excuse
Am I a friend or a fool?
If you ask me to
Then I'll tell the truth
But if you dont then I
I wont say anything
You wont hear anything

Billy was a friend of mine
We grew up together ever since we were nine
We went all the way trough the school
No one could really say wich one of us was the fool
In high school he played football
Me, I didn't do anything at all
He made touch-downs, while I played pool
And no one could really say which one of us was the fool
We left school then went to collage
He studied medicine, I studied foliage
He got A's and I got D's
He was going for his Ph.D.
Then he decided I decided to drop out
Things were getting just a little too hot
He said on the table he ain`t a intern then a doctor
Then war broke out and he had to go
But not me, I was mentally unfit, or so they say, so, so
When he came back, he wasn't quite the same at all
He wasn't the guy I knew, it was like I talking to a wall
Remember Billy, he was my best friend
We always said our friendship would never end
Billy was, a friend of mine
Grew up together ever since We were nine
We went together all the way through school
Es war ein heiáer Sommer.
Weiáer Mann schwitzt, roter Mann weintsagen
die
traurigen Indianer
hinten in der weiáen Wüste zu
so
einem heiáen Sommer.
Billy
Bobby und Jack.
Sie sind Brüder und trotzdem Mörder. Vatermörder.
Billy ist 17
Bobby 16
Jack 53.
Alle sind gekommen
um sie heute hängen zu sehen.
Nur einer nicht: Daddy. Klar.

Billy weint jetzt

Wie hat Daddy immer gesagt?
Tränen, Tränen haben nur die Indianer. Ist manweiá,dann schwitzt man, ist man rot, dann weint man sichtot.

Billy won't you come back home
Billy won't you come back home
Cause you've been gone in that war too long
Billy won't you come back home
(Chorus)
Cause you're my boy
My greatest pride and joy
You got a razor sharp mind
And a heart so kind
Billy I got a letter in the mail
Billy it said that you had fell
You had stopped to change a tire
And got caught in friendly fire
Billy I got a letter in the mail
Billy you're not coming home
Billy how could you leave me all alone
Now my heart burns dry
Like the dessert where you died
Billy you're not coming home

there's guns across the river aimin' at ya
lawman on your trail he'd like to catch ya
bounty hunters too they'd like t' get ya
billy they don't like you t' be so free
camp' out all night on the berenda
dealin' cards 'til dawn in the hacienda
up to boot hill they'd like t' send ya
billy don't y' turn your back on me
playin' around with some sweet senorita
into her dark hallway she will lead ya
in the shadows of the mesa she will greet ya
