Payne may refer to:
William Payne Stewart (January 30, 1957 – October 25, 1999) was an American professional golfer who won three majors in his career, the last of which occurred only months before he died in an airplane accident at the age of 42.
Stewart was born in Springfield, Missouri, and attended Greenwood Laboratory School, a K-12 school, on the campus of Missouri State University. He graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. He was always popular with fans, especially for his clothing, and was reputed to have the biggest wardrobe of all professional golfers. He was a favorite of photographers because of his ivy caps and patterned pants, which were a cross between plus fours and knickerbockers, a throwback to the once-commonplace golf "uniform."
Stewart failed to earn a PGA Tour card at Qualifying School in his graduation year, so he played on the Asian Tour for a couple of years, winning twice. He finally earned his PGA Tour card in 1982 and won his first event on the tour at that year's Quad Cities Open. This win was especially memorable to him because it was the only time his father saw him win. Stewart won eleven Tour events, including the 1989 PGA Championship and the U.S. Open in 1991 and 1999. He was a two-time winner of the Hassan II Trophy in Morocco. At the time of his death, Stewart was ranked third on the all-time money list and in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings—he had been ranked in the top 10 for almost 250 weeks, from 1986 to 1993 and again in 1999. At a time of international domination of the golf scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was often the highest-ranked American player.
Philip Alfred Mickelson (born June 16, 1970) is an American professional golfer. He has won four major championships and a total of 40 events on the PGA Tour. He has reached a career high world ranking of 2nd in multiple years. He is nicknamed "Lefty" for his left-handed swing, even though he is otherwise right-handed. Mickelson was elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame in November 2011 and was inducted in May 2012.
Mickelson was born in San Diego, California, to parents Phil Mickelson Sr. (an airline pilot and former naval aviator) and Mary Mickelson. He was raised there and in Scottsdale, Arizona. Although right-handed otherwise, he plays golf left-handed, as he learned by watching his right-handed father swing and mirroring it. Mickelson began golf under his father's instruction before starting school. Phil Sr.'s work schedule as a commercial pilot allowed them to play together several times a week and an extensive practice area in their San Diego backyard allowed young Phil to hone his creative short game. Mickelson graduated from the University of San Diego High School in 1988.
Sarah Evelyn Isobel Payne (13 October 1991 – c. 1 July 2000) was an eight-year old girl murdered by Roy Whiting in West Sussex, England in July 2000. The subsequent investigation became a high profile murder case in the United Kingdom. Following his conviction, Whiting was imprisoned for life and is currently being held in the maximum security Wakefield prison, West Yorkshire.
Roy William Whiting was born in Horsham hospital in West Sussex on 26 January 1959. He was one of six children, of whom only he, an older brother and younger sister survived to adulthood. He grew up in Langley Green, Crawley. When he was a child, he was abused by a close relative. He attended Jordan's primary school, then Ifield secondary school. His mother left home with his sister in 1976, and remarried. In June 1986 he married Linda Booker in Ifield, West Sussex. They separated; their son was born in Crawley hospital in July 1987; they divorced in 1990.
Whiting was involved in banger racing during the late 1980s, but abandoned his interest in the sport due to a lack of success.

Sailor: [Ensign Pulver is smuggling liquor aboard in a case marked "Brassieres"] Are bras that heavy, Mister Pulver?::Ens. Frank Pulver: Only when they're full.
LaSueur: [the crew goes wild when liberty is announced] What the hell is happening?::Doc: Metamorphosis! Vegetables are turning into men!
Doc: [Saying a mock prayer as Ens. Pulver goes ashore, hopefully to bring back some bottles of scotch] Oh, Bacchus, God of Alcohol, coordinate Frank Pulver and glue him together for one day, please.
Captain Morton: [Having intercepted Ens. Pulver attempting to smuggle bottles of scotch on board] I want the name of every man that ordered a bottle of that stuff.::Ens. Frank Pulver: Nobody ordered it, sir. It's for me.::Captain Morton: You was gonna' drink all of that yourself?::Ens. Frank Pulver: Slowly.::Captain Morton: This is a *Navy* ship, mister! Throw that dirty liquor overboard!
Captain Morton: I don't want a crew of whining sissies with table manners. I want MEN!::Doc: You've GOT men! That's your problem! If we were in combat it would be different. These men left their homes to FIGHT, but they never got into the war! They're in limbo, Captain, trapped between heaven and hell on a floating 10-cent store!::Captain Morton: You "college" officers make me PUKE!
Captain Morton: [to Doc] The only reason I don't take you by the nap of the neck and throw you overboard, is that I might need a doctor some day!
Doc: [Ens. Pulver has been telling Doc about scaring the captain off the ship] "Scare the captain off this ship"! Don't dream. Don't dream!::Ens. Frank Pulver: Stop talking like somebody's father! What about you? You don't even dream!::Doc: Touché, Frank. I'm a vegetable. Eggplants don't dream, do they?::Doc: [mimicking a child's voice] And what did you do in the Great War, daddy?::Doc: [normal voice] I sat on a ship, paralyzed, and watched men rot.::Doc: I'm kaput. But you've got a potential. A destructive nature. And what do you do with it? Shoot flies with a piece of lead foil!::Ens. Frank Pulver: A naval officer has to be an expert at ballistics.
Ens. Frank Pulver: You mean after everything I've told you, you think I *could* be a doctor?::Scotty: By rights, you should be a good one. You have more people to prove yourself to than anyone I ever heard of. You should cash in on that. My family's in business. They say the big trick is to turn liabilities into assets.
