The Music was an English alternative rock band, formed in Kippax, Leeds in 1999. Comprising Robert Harvey (vocals, guitar), Adam Nutter (lead guitar), Stuart Coleman (bass) and Phil Jordan (drums), the band came to prominence with the release of their debut album, The Music, in 2002. The band released two further studio albums, Welcome to the North (2004) and Strength in Numbers (2008), before parting ways in 2011.

The Music all met at Brigshaw High School except Phil Jordan who went to Garforth and began playing in 1999 as Insense. In 2001 the song Take the Long Road and Walk It circulated as a demo before being released by Fierce Panda as a 1000-copies-only single, a rarity from its day of release. Around this time the NME and Steve Lamacq were describing them as the best unsigned band in Britain. The band were quickly signed by Hut, who released their first EP You Might as Well Try to Fuck Me.

In 2002, following another EP (The People) they released their eponymous début album which reached #4 in the UK album charts. Their début single was re-issued as part of a two-disc set to promote the album, and reached #14 in the singles chart. Two further singles from the album, Getaway and The Truth is No Words reached #26 and #18 respectively. June 2003 saw them filling in for an absent Zwan on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Betty Blowtorch was an all-female American hard rock band from Southern California.

The band was formed in 1998 by three members of Butt Trumpet. After releasing the 2001 album, Are You Man Enough?, the group toured with Nashville Pussy. During the tour, drummer Judy Molish and guitarist Sharon Needles left the group; Jennifer Finch from L7 joined in their stead. In December 2001, lead singer and bassist Bianca Halstead (Butthole) was killed in a car crash in New Orleans, which marked the end of the group. A collection of rarities and live performances was released as Last Call in 2003.

They are the focus of Antonia Scarpa's documentary film, Betty Blowtorch And Her Amazing True Life Adventures.

Halstead is buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Blare N. Bitch and Sharon Needles are currently both members of the Los Angeles based band, Psychostar.

Ana Matronic (born Ana Lynch, August 14, 1974) is the female lead singer for the Scissor Sisters.

Her stage name is said to be due to "a deep and abiding love of robots". She has a large tattoo on her right shoulder of bionic circuitry. She has a second tattoo on her ankle of a celtic knot to mark her Irish heritage.

Born in Portland, Oregon, Matronic studied Pop Culture and Anthropology in college.

Prior to moving to New York, Lynch lived in San Francisco, California, where she performed at the drag club Trannyshack and reached the finals of the Miss Trannyshack pageant. It was her experience at Trannyshack that inspired her to start the club Knockoff on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, intended as a "knockoff" version of Trannyshack. She joined Scissor Sisters, founded by Jake Shears and Babydaddy, after they played their first live gig at the club.

She has stated that in her eyes, the objective of the band is "about people displaying their fantasies on the outside, trying to break out of the everyday, and look like their dreams." In the fan community for the Scissor Sisters, those fans who hold a special affinity for Ana are known as "nuns". A unique following of both heterosexual men and homosexual women who are attracted to Ana term themselves "Anasexual".

Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo is a Filipino recording artist and actress. Geronimo started her official debut in show business after having won the Star for a Night singing competition. In 2003, after winning the contest, she released her first album entitled Popstar: A Dream Come True under Viva Records. It is considered as Geronimo's most successful album which sold more than 210,000 copies nationwide.
