The Move, from Birmingham, England, were one of the leading British rock bands of the 1960s. They scored nine Top 20 UK singles in five years, but were among the most popular British bands not to find any success in the United States.
Although bassist-vocalist Chris "Ace" Kefford was the original leader, for most of their career The Move was led by guitarist, singer and songwriter Roy Wood. He composed all the group's UK singles and, from 1968, also sang lead vocals on many songs, although Carl Wayne was the main lead singer up to 1970. Initially the band had 4 main vocalists (Wayne, Wood, Trevor Burton and Kefford).
The group evolved from several mid 1960s Birmingham based groups, including Carl Wayne and the Vikings, the Nightriders and the Mayfair Set. The group's name referred to the move various members of these bands made to form the group. Beside Wood, the original five-piece line-up of The Move in 1965 was drummer Bev Bevan, bassist Kefford, vocalist Carl Wayne and guitarist Trevor Burton. The final line-up of 1972 was the trio of Wood, Bevan and Jeff Lynne, who transitioned the group into the Electric Light Orchestra. Since 2007, Burton and Bevan have been performing as 'The Move featuring Bev Bevan and Trevor Burton'.

Robert William "Bob" Hoskins, Jr. (born 26 October 1942) is an English actor known for playing Cockney rough diamonds, psychopaths and gangsters, in films such as The Long Good Friday (1980), and Mona Lisa (1986). He has since played lighter roles in family films, such as Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and Smee in both Hook (1991) and Neverland (2011).
Hoskins was born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, the son of Elsie Lillian (née Hopkins), a cook and nursery-school teacher, and Robert William Hoskins, Sr., a bookkeeper and lorry driver. One of Hoskins's grandmothers was a Romani of the British Romanis. From the age of two weeks old he was raised in Finsbury Park, in north London. His father, a Communist, brought up Hoskins as an atheist, and he now describes himself as an agnostic. In 1967, aged 25, Hoskins spent a short period of time in kibbutz Zikim in Israel. In a recent interview, when asked what he owed his parents, he said, "Confidence. My mum used to say to me, 'If somebody doesn't like you, fuck 'em, they've got bad taste.'"

[Chorus: all together]
Well, here we are,
United just for you.
Our flat-top cuts are new
Because we're on the move.
[Verse 1: Big Daddy Kane]
Na-na-na now girls step up, the quick ones kept up.
The slow ones need to pep up to keep Big Daddy's rep up,
'Cause I don't let up or get up or even set up.
On a a speak freak, I know how to make you shut up.
Gasp your breath as you huff and puff.
The Big Daddy got more than enough good stuff,
'Cause I'm just like secret when it comes to trimin'.
Strong enough for a man but made for women,
So come one, come all, I'm not about bein' picky.
It only takes a hickey to make you want a quickie
>From the cameo haircut man that's dark and lovely,
Smooth and suave, that's why girls dream of me,
And not to flaunt, I love a flirt with a skirt
And after a concert, a little neeeaaah don't hurt,
Just to hear the girls screamin' out wild, G.
You're not a Jungle Brother, but that's some Jimbrowski.
I'm like a pimp, see, and iff you tempt me,
I can fill up any girls that's empty,
Give you somethin' that's mighy and strong,
But ladies, don't get me wrong
Because you say that I love 'em and leave 'em, but no, I please ya
And then catch amnesia,
But the party people can't be denied,
So I remember those who's on my side.
[Repeat chorus]
[Interlude 1:]
[Mister Cee cuts and scratches "Scoob Lover, my brother."]
[Verse 2: Scoob Lover]
The mic goes around like a 40 ounce.
Now, I'm-a take a sip, now it's time to bounce.
I won't get tipsy, I don't drink and talk
And, no, I'm not a hoddlum by the way I walk,
'Cause I'm one hype, one brown-skinned brother.
For those who don't know me, I'm (who?) Scoob Lover,
A jolly good fellow, flowin' with the mellow.
For all the choice cuties, I'd love to say "Hello",
So take away the 3, let's stick to 1, 2.
Me and you, now here's a clue what we could do.
It begins with an S and ends with an X.
Hmmm, not the number 6, so guess what's next,
So girls, don't barge, don't blink, be still
'Cause it's about time for Scoob to get ill.
Remeber you dissed, now you wanna kiss,
Write me fan letters, sayin' that you miss.
There's only one rap dance, the cool romancer.
If I had a million dollars, I'd try to cure cancer,
But I'm only here to get illey, ha.
Now, I'm drug free and I don't smoke Phillies,
So come here, shorty, go buy me a 40.
And make sure it's cold so the crew can get naughty.
[Repeat chorus]
[Interlude 2:]
[Mister Cee cuts and scratches "Scrap Lover, my other."]
[Verse 3: Scrap Lover]
You get jacked if you ever try to nap
Ona a rap from Scrap because you know there's no haps.
Now, right from where I left off, to all those who stepped off,
You know you had it comin', the blame is what you slept off.
?Destruction played a part on roll, here's so to say.?
You can't mislead me. Why? 'Cause I know the way.
Always gave headahces, never known for heartaches.
Time and effort, huh, that's what a star takes.
Let me give you a true piece of mind
'Cause this rare species is so hard to find.
I'm custom-made for all the ladies with guts,
A tall box of hair or rather cameo cuts.
Draggin' tattoes is what the girls found,
Two on m chest, one draggin' on the ground.
To all the young ladies that's clean and legit,
As long as I got a face, you got a place o sit.
No tokens for heart-broken turnstiles,
No remarks or regrets, but I'll burn while
Those that's destined to question for a new thing.
Join us in harmony together as we sing.
For all the ladies determined that once was
So jealous, stop searchin' now 'cause....
[Repeat chorus]
[Mister Cee cuts and scratches]
[Outro: Big Daddy Kane]
You don't stop, you don't stop.
Pack up my shit I’m on the road like Kerouac (whooo)
Found tranquility in the cover that holds me (down down)
People I've query I’m always on the move (get more)
Set it up pack it up giddy up giddy up, whooo!
I love it, whooo!
I hate it
Rolling Stones gather no moss, so lets go
Not a life, not a love
Not a motherfuckin' minute to spare (god damn)
3 65 24/7 on the move (hey)
Gotta go gotta go gotta hurry up and get there (now)
I’m living' the life (whooo!)
Without the life (god damn)
Gotta make it today to live up on the stage (hey)
So I’m blowing it up like a high school game
I know my place is on this road, my sad story
Reflect on all the things that fell behind, can't be sorry
I will follow my life and all the curves that it throws me
Just when I think that I’ve found my home - I’m gone
When my worlds only gonna P to TM
We’ll be choppin' him dead inside, until I’m dead (yeah)
Keep my hat on my head can't hang it without a home (god damn)
Gotta push it more and this way I am alone (hey)
I’m living' the life (whooo!)
Without the life (god damn)
Gotta make it today to live up on the stage (hey)
So I’m blowing it up like a high school game
I know my place is on this road, my sad story
Reflect on all the things that fell behind, can't be sorry
I will follow my life and all the curves that it throws me
Just when I think that I’ve found my home - I’m gone
This circus cycle family
If faces aren't so strange
Faces becoming more familiar
Day by day
Sharing becomes closer
Day by day
The world becomes our home
DAY - we'll turn up with nothing
NIGHT - but we'll be back sometime
DAY - if its ready I’m ready
NIGHT - I’ve lived a life today
DAY - I’m healing the bleeding
NIGHT - dead now to back alive
DAY - I’ve been through another
DAY - I’m living the life, yeah right
I know my place is on this road - I can't be sorry
Reflect on all the words that fell aside - my tragedy
I have followed my life and all the curves that it's thrown me
Now at least I know I’ve found my home
I was predestined to reflect the Son, beaming His light
His truth has me keen in my sight
So I can see the true meaning of life
He is Jesus the Christ, who rules His kingdom with might
The redemption of our Lord
Means the Son became an extension cord
When His blood red as crimson poured
For our transgressions
His intervention bore access in
His ascension from the core made our redemption sure
Life's worth the living
New purpose given
No more rhyming in vain
We make sure each rhyme's shining his name
Some say we're kind of lame for never minding the fame
We're never apologizing for every album sounding the same
No time for childish games
Cats are bound to drown in the flames
If they're not found in His name
We're out to proclaim
On the rooftops, Ghettos
To the boondocks, agents
Spreading the fragrance of Christ like a perfume shop
[Chorus]
To my breakers, beatmakers, arosol can shakers
Dj's on the fader with the smooth rhymes sayers
Put the cross on the move
Spread the good news of the Savior
To my breakers beatmakers arosol can shakers
Dj's on the fader with the smooth rhymes sayers
Take what the Lord gave you, and represent the Savior
We don't do as the world do
We open up the scripture like oysters
To voice the pearl truths of God
Which is anti-world view, it's odd
How we storm your hood like twister
When we twirl through my squad
Wear the chains to bear the name
If you ask us where is the fame?
We'll say there in the flames
If you only dig our flavor and name
And not the Savior who reigns
Then our labors in vain
We'd rather be cut off and pruned
For not producing fruit
Hip-hop influence the youth
That's why we speak fluent in truth
In cypher sessions
It sounds like we're always lecturing
Cause we never kick rhymes
That only wins the respect of men
When we flex the pen
It's in hopes that men get with him
Who pays and pardons our debt to sin
Forever representing Him
With no shame bold and plain
Kingdom Building
Cause the blue print of scripture don't change
[Chorus]
I was sick with sin
Now I'm love sick for Him
Who's blood dripped for men
The new covenants in Him
The new government begins
Cause the Son gets the win
Over Satan and mans numbness to sin
Oneness with Him
Is what we're hoping in
Come witness Him
Take the souls of men
And make them whole again
We live to make known to men
The atonement of sin
That turns those who offend
From foes to friends
Of the true and living
Who's forgiving the worst of sin
Committed by the worst of men
Lets reverse the trend
Heads can't discern the times
Even with the signs up
If there's no good news on your album
Then you're in the wrong genre
The air that you grasp,
I can’t feel ‘cause you’re outta sight.
She’s a beauty, she’s a queen.
You know that girl, she’s got everything.
It took so long to tell you that I love you,
And it doesn’t even show today.
You’ve got a man, so we’ve got to keep a secret,
But it really can’t go wrong this way, yeah.
Do I get to see you tonight?
I’m hoping that will make things alright.
So, do I get to see, see you,
See you tonight?
Her smiles are dynamite,
Every guy thinks she’s outta sight.
One look, one glance,
I can’t mess up my only chance.
But now it took to long,
You’ve got someone and now you’re moving on,
Just one more chance to say,
That I…
Really want to see you tonight,
I’m hoping that will make things alright,
So do I get to see, see you,
See you tonight?
One more time!
I get to see you tonight,
I’m hoping that will make things alright,
So do I get to see, see you,
See you tonight?
you're head's on honorary
you're halfway puppy
you're gonna do what you're gonna do
it's movin' through your bones
you're movin' all alone
you're gonna give into it, give into it
don't need no moves, you're on the move
ain't got nothin', nothin' to lose
oh yeah and you feel it now
but you're still in and out
you better give into it, give into it
then sweet surrendering
i'll give up everything
i'm gonna give into it, give into it
don't need no moves, you're on the move
ain't got nothin', nothin' to lose
and while it's happening, you get connecting
