A bun is a small, usually sweet, bread. Commonly they are hand-sized or smaller, domed in shape, with a flat bottom. A bun can also be a savory bread roll similar to a bap or barmcake.
Basic buns are usually made using flour, sugar, milk, yeast, cardamom, and butter. Sometimes they contain sultanas and currants as well, and the iced bun is topped with an icing and sometimes filled with jam. Other fillings do occur. Varieties of buns do exist, such as round sticky buns, currant buns or iced buns.
"Bun" may also refer to a kind of filled dumpling, as Chinese baozi and the Lutonian Halapchi.
A bun can be long and skinny, short and round, and come in many different shapes and sizes.
In North England and Ireland, a bun is also a name given to small cakes, e.g. sponge buns, currant buns and butterfly buns.
Long hair is a hairstyle. Exactly what constitutes long hair can change from culture to culture, or even within cultures. For example, a woman with chin-length hair in some cultures may be said to have short hair, while a man with the same length of hair in some of the same cultures would be said to have long hair.
Scientists view long hair as playing a large part in natural selection among many species, since long, thick and healthy hair or fur is frequently a sign of fertility and youth. As hair grows slowly, long hair reveals several years of a person's health status and reproductive fitness. Hair length is significantly correlated with female attractiveness, as rated by men as well as women. Hair length and quality can act as a cue to especially a woman's youth and health, signifying reproductive potential. The prevalence of trichophilia (hair partialism or fetischism) is 7% in the population, and very long hair is a common subject of devotion in this group.
Ways of life often viewed as more rigid, such as soldiers and religious cultures, often have explicit rules regarding hair length. For example, Buddhist monks shave their heads as part of their order of worship. Even outside religious structures, cultures often associate male long hair with ways of life outside of what is culturally accepted. Subservient cultures, for example, are sometimes detected by their rulers through hair length, as was the case with the Gaelic Irish under English rule and the Moors under Spanish rule in Medieval Spain.

Plot
During the time of change of the mid-19th Century, Yaichiro is bid farewell by his fellow samurai friends Munezo and Samon as he leaves their clan's fiefdom on the northwest coast of Japan (Unasaka) to take an important position within the shogunate in far away Edo. Munezo has lived modestly with his mother and sister Shino after his father was forced into suicide after the failure of a bridge project. Kie, a farm girl serves them as a maid in their house. As time passes, Munezo's sister marries Samon, his mother dies, Kie is married into a merchant family, and he is required to learn western methods of warfare such as the use of artillery and firearms from an official sent from Edo. Learning that Kie is ill due to abuse, he rescues her from her husband's family. Although sharing mutual affection and respect, a marriage between Munezo and Kie is still impossible due to different castes, and when he, now a bachelor, is criticized for her serving in his house, Munezo sends her back to her father's farm. After being caught in a failed political intrigue, Yaichiro is sent home in disgrace and imprisoned in solitary confinement. After Yaichiro escapes, Munezo is ordered to prove his innocence from complicity by killing his old friend, and he seeks the help of his old teacher, the sword master Kansai Toda. Although Yaichiro had been the better swordsman when they studied together, Toda entrusted the secret of the "Hidden Blade" only to Munezo. Toda now teaches him a new technique to use as he prepares to face Yaichiro, who has taken hostages in a farm house.

Cola's mother: [to Cola aged 14, after Wong Jiang is accused of killing 7-up] You remember this man.
Chan Lok-Yin: [narrating] This is the man that killed my father. Wong Jiang, the Chief Inspector of the Regional Crime Section. I'll never forget his face.
Chan Lok-Yin: [narrating] Maybe Rebel Without a Cause had a good box office record. So many boys imitated James Dean. They played tyrant everywhere.
Chan Lok-Yin: [narrating] In 2001, I had graduated. I had achieved my goal to got into the police force. Mom remarried again. Now, my name is Li Tak Yan. Nobody remembers that I'm the son of 7 UP. It's the same in the police force, so I treasure my naked name, Cola, more. My colleagues also call me Cola. This name reminds me that I am the son of 7 UP. And the hatred for the one who killed my dad never goes away. Wong Jiang, S.P. of the Regional Crime Section.
[last lines]::S.P. Wong Jiang: I killed your dad. Why don't you take revenge?::Chan Lok-Yin: My dad wasn't a good cop... But I am.
Chan Lok-Yin: [after shooting Wai instead of Wong Jiang] S.P. Wong taught me to keep a bullet at hand.::Wai: Why?::Chan Lok-Yin: It's simple. You're a thief. I'm a cop.
Chan Lok-Yin: [narrating] This was the first time I saw Wong Jiang again. It's unbelievable to see him again like this. What kind of person is he? He dared to hold the grenade alone. He's not ordinary. Mom was right. He is such a refined evil. I must beware of him.
S.P. Wong Jiang: Oh, you don't wanna hear it? If so, then Alan Tam doesn't wanna sing, and Lee Lai Shan doesn't wanna sail.
Chan Lok-Yin: [narrating] I can't believe Wong leads such a simple life. It's a total contrast with the sly old fox I had in my mind. So, why did he kill my dad? No. It's just what he pretends to be.
Wai: [persuading Cola to consider killing Wong Jiang] Haven't you thought of revenge? Haven't you thought of shooting him when he isn't noticed? Don't tell me you haven't. Matthew 7:15 in the Bible says, "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly, they are ferocious wolves." I believe God has arranged everything. Maybe, you don't get what I said just now, but I'm fair. Wong gave my dad one shot. I'll give him one shot back.
