In firearms, the chamber is the portion of the barrel or firing cylinder in which the cartridge is inserted prior to being fired. Rifles and pistols generally have a single chamber in their barrels, while revolvers have multiple chambers in their cylinders and no chamber in their barrel. Thus rifles and pistols can usually be fired even with a detached magazine, while a revolver cannot be fired with its cylinder swung out.
The act of chambering a cartridge means the insertion of a round into the chamber, either manually or through the action of the weapon, e.g., pump-action, lever-action, bolt action, or automatic action generally in anticipation of firing the weapon, without need to 'load' the weapon upon decision to use it (reducing the number of actions needed to discharge).
In firearms design or modification, "chambering" is fitting a weapon for a particular caliber or round, so a Colt Model 1911 is chambered for .45 ACP or .38 Super, or re-chambered for .38/.45 Clerke.
Chamber, chambers or the chamber may refer to:
A firearm is a portable gun, being a barreled weapon that launches one or more projectiles often driven by the action of an explosive force. The first primitive firearms were invented in 13th century China when the one-person-portable fire lance was combined with projectiles. The technology gradually spread through the rest of East Asia, South Asia, Middle East and then into Europe. In older firearms, the propellant was typically black powder, but modern firearms use smokeless powder or other propellants. Most modern firearms (with the notable exception of smoothbore shotguns) have rifled barrels to impart spin to the projectile for improved flight stability.
Modern firearms are usually described by their caliber (i.e. their bore diameter, this is given in millimeters or inches e.g. 7.5mm, .357) or in the case of shotguns their gauge (e.g. 12 ga.); the type of action employed (muzzle, breech, lever, bolt, pump, revolver, semi-automatic, automatic etc.) together with the usual means of deportment (hand-held or mechanical mounting). They may be further distinguished by reference to the type of barrel used (rifled) and the barrel length (19 inch), the design's primary intended use (e.g. hunting rifle), or the commonly accepted name for a particular variation (e.g. Gatling gun). The word firearms usually is used in a sense restricted to small arms (weapons that can be carried by a single person), whereas the word artillery covers larger gunpowder-fired weapons.

Today I try out a game mode most well known in the Call Of Duty series: One in the Chamber. Each player is given a pistol - and only a pistol - with one bullet. Use it wisely. Every shot kills. If you miss, you're limited to your knife. Every time you kill a player, you get a bullet. Each player is given three lives. A Spy Plane flies overhead when only two players are left fighting, preventing player camping. Success requires a combination of precision and reflexes. Know when to go for the shot or close in for the kill. A 2D Flash animation that I made in order to explain how firearms work to those who have no prior knowledge about them. The larger internal moving parts (barrel, recoil spring, firing pin) as well as the components of a cartridge (bullet, powder, primer) are shown in a semi-transparent cutaway view. I also included a voice-over to explain what is happening when the pistol is operated. The discharge of a cartridge as it is shown in the video applies to rifles and other firearms as well. Feel free to show this video to newbies if you want to explain to them how a semi-automatic gun functions in a clear graphic way. You may also use this animated video in a presentation if you like, but whenever possible please use the online link rather than a downloaded version. The applications used to...

https://www.stratasysdirect.com/blog/worlds-first-3d-printed-metal-gun/ - Introducing metal 3D printing to the world as a viable solution for fully functional firearm prototypes. Its chamber sees pressure above 20,000 psi every time it is fired proving the material integrity provided by DMLS technology. The small components needed for the 1911 series gun proves DMLS can meet tolerances and accuracy. We're changing people's perspective about what 3D Printing can do and showing the technology is at a place where we can do this kind of thing and succeed. This technology is capable of fully functioning assemblies at full scale.

This collection of epic gun fails is the most outrageous Highlights and alternative footage that I have collected in the last two years of producing youtube videos. This video is intended as comedy and entertainment. These clips are performed safely while observing the basic rules of firearms. They are created intentionally to look crazy and dangerous. Keep in mind that detonating low caliber ammo outside of the chamber of a firearm is not as dangerous as one would think. Without a chamber and barrel there is no way to focus the expanding gasses behind the bullet, therefore in the case of this video the bullets plop out of the shell casing harmlessly. The effect is like a weak firecracker. Sit back and relax and watch World's Most Outrageous Gun Fails #3. keep coming back for more as I wil...

Concealed carry firearms comparison of Glock 43 vs M&P; Shield vs Ruger LC9 vs Keltec PF9. This is my first Youtube video and I am sure it has some mistakes. This is just my opinion on these four firearms. Also about carrying a round in the chamber and negligent discharges. What I was trying to say is simply that you should have a holster that covers the trigger. This makes it impossible to fire the weapon when it is in the holster. The holster acts as a safety until the weapon is drawn and ready to be fired. When you draw the weapon you are looking to fire it so a safety can get in the way. This is why many people like my self prefer to have no safety. Negligent discharges are not ok.
Sniper Rifle | One Shot One Down | History Documentary Films In military and law enforcement terminology, a special application sniper rifle is a crew service, man-portable, high precision, shoulder-fired rifle used to ensure more accurate placement of bullets at longer ranges than other small arms. It is a common misconception that any scoped rifle is a sniper rifle, and while certain long guns are more suited for the application than others, it is the act of using a firearm weapon strategically as a sniper qualified-specialist that designates it as such. A typical sniper rifle is built for optimal levels of accuracy, fitted with a telescopic sight and chambered for a military centerfire cartridge. The term is often used in the media to describe any type of accurized firearm fitted with...

The making of us army's bullets - US ARMY weapons factory - amazing documentary 2017 The 7.62×51mm NATO (official NATO nomenclature 7.62 NATO) is a rimless bottlenecked rifle cartridge developed in the 1950s as a standard for small arms among NATO countries. It should not be confused with the similarly named Russian 7.62×54mmR cartridge, a slightly longer rimmed cartridge. It was introduced in U.S. service in the M14 rifle and M60 machine gun in the late 1950s. The M14 was superseded in U.S. service as the infantry adopted the 5.56×45mm NATO M16. However, the M14 and many other firearms that use the 7.62×51 round remain in service, especially in the case of various sniper rifles, medium machine guns such as the M240, and various rifles in use by special operations forces. The cartridge is...
