He is led to believe that the entertainer had him shanghaied, which the entertainer denies. Later the entertainer is blown up (literally) and someone has planted evidence that points to Mike. Mike then sets out to try and clear his name but everyone he goes to get information is killed and he is again the suspect. Can Mike find someone who can clear him and can he keep that person alive long enough to do so?

Gene beats back an attempt by Rawlings to kidnap an incoming caravan of women whose presence in the town will hasten the progress of law and order. One of the arrives, Laurie ('Gail Davis (I)' (qv)), is attracted to Steve Kincaid ('Russell Hayden (I)' (qv)), a con-man working for Rawlings, but she turns against him when she learns of the association. The Rawlings gang makes a last-ditch effort to take over the town.

Law school graduate Paul Maddox, adopted son of Senator Robert Maddox, accepts an offer to join the law firm of William "Bill" Mellon, brilliant but unscrupulous criminal attorney. Mrs. Maddox is actually Paul's real mother, although neither the Senator nor Paul know it, and Bill Mellon is his father. Yes, it is one of "those" plots. Paul is at first critical of Mellon's sharp practices, but he relents when Ann McItyre convinces him it's all within the law, a fact most law school graduates would have learned in law school. Gambler Georgie Evans comes to Mellon and tells him he has just killed Harrison, another underworld character, and insists it was in self defense. Mellon coaches Evans in how to tell his story to the police, then sends him to police headquarters to give himself up, and then assigns Paul to follow up on the case. While Evans and Paul are on separate routes to the police station, Evans stops by Harrison's and kills him under circumstances corresponding with Mellon's fool-proof alibi version already supplied before the act. Truly a good example of why it is best to consult an attorney before committing a rash act. Mellon learns of this post-dated action but, for a large sum of money from Evans, agrees to have his firm represent him and assigns Paul the task. Paul, of course, wins Evans an acquittal. Paul later learns that the killing was committed after Evans had retained Mellon and quits the firm. Paul's moral snit does not extend past the point of allowing his adopted-father's influence getting him appointed Assistant District Attorney. Paul begins a probe against malpractice in the law profession, and Mellon hires Mitchell to dig up scandal on state officials sponsoring the probe. Mitchell does this even better than Mellon anticipated, especially when he comes back with the truth about Paul actually being Mrs. Maddox' own son. When Mitchell refuses to give up the papers with the proof, he and Mellon struggle and Mitchell dies from a shot from his own gun. Mellon is charged with murder and Paul is the prosecutor. Will Paul send his real Pa to jail for life?

On MSNBC 'The Ed Show' 4/23/2014 Ed Schultz Savaged Fox News Sean Hannity: 'Joker' for Defending Cliven Bundy Ranch, 'Hypocrisy' for distancing himself from Bundy's Racist Rant 'black better off as slaves' (Washington Post) Will Fox News's Sean Hannity keep hyping Cliven Bundy after comments about the 'Negro'? Bundy is the Nevada cattle rancher whose herd has been grazing on federal land illegally for two decades. This month, he and a motivated contingent of armed supporters forced rangers with the Bureau of Land Management to back away from their efforts to confiscate hundreds of Bundy's cattle. On his program last night, Fox News host Sean Hannity remarked, "For weeks we've been covering the story about Cliven Bundy in Nevada and how armed federal agents and snipers began impounding his cattle, all because they were grazing on public land and eating grass." In an earlier segment, he told Bundy's son, Ammon: "I guess this goes to the heart of it here because what we've always been talking about is the government fighting over land that they don't need for a hospital or a road or a school, and the land is going to be sitting there anyway, and all the cows are doing is eating and maybe going to the bathroom on it. They said originally this was about the desert tortoise. How did we get to this point where the government sends hundreds of people in there? There seems to be a total lack of proportionality in this." At one point, Hannity stated that Bundy's ranching business model "keeps the price of meat down for every American consumer." As the drama in Nevada has played out, "Hannity" has had a direct line to the Bundy family, providing Fox News viewers with fawning interview after fawning interview. For example, on Monday night's show, Hannity went after the $1 million figure often cited in media accounts as Bundy's unpaid bill to the feds: HANNITY: I'd like to see how they got to a million-dollar figure that keeps getting repeated by the liberal media. I mean, I want to know if that includes court costs, fees, fines, penalties. How they get to a million dollars? I can't imagine your cattle can eat a million dollars of grass, grazing. Can you? CLIVEN BUNDY: No, they can't. And you know, just a week or 10 days ago, it was only $300,000. Now it's up to a million. So I don't understand that. Perhaps in the next interview, Hannity will ask Bundy about his racial views, which surfaced in a story in today's New York Times (and linked in Milbank's tweet). Here are two paragraphs from the story, citing Bundy's comments at a "daily news conference": "I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro," he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, "and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn't have nothing to do. They didn't have nothing for their kids to do. They didn't have nothing for their young girls to do. "And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?" he asked. "They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I've often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn't get no more freedom. They got less freedom."

It was easy to run federal agents off wasn't it? It was too easy. In this episode of The Truth Is Viral, host Bobby Powell puts together several pieces of information that have surfaced sine the BLM "withdrew" and conceded to the demands of Cliven Bundy. Bundy is the Nevada rancher who stood toe-to-toe with nearly 1,000 heavily federal agents for over a week. Fortunately for Bundy, thousands of unarmed protestors - and militia that were armed just as well as the federal agents were standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him. But, as reported to investigative journalist Doug Hagmann - co-host of the Hagmann and Hagmann report along with his son Joe - by a highly-placed source inside the Department of Homeland Security, the BLM withdrawal was a fake. The entire standoff was, according to Hagmann's DHS informant, a real world exercise designed to determine what kind of resistance the federal government will face should gun confiscations begin. From this observer's perspective that resistance will be fierce. The feds should probably buy Depends by the truckload because people are pissed, and from what we saw on alternative media livestreams broadcast during the standoff many of them are ready to rock and roll. Acting on a tip from a view who said that he saw "many, many, many" men in military uniform and federal agents checking IN to hotels around the Bundy ranch, after the BLM allegedly stood down, when they should have been checking out, TTiV Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Bobby Powell called area hotels and confirmed that there is not a single room available anywhere near the Bundy ranch. This is over his long standing refusal to acknowledge a 1993 modification to grazing rights on the land. Bundy claims the land has been in his family since the 1800s. On Saturday, hundreds of federal officials, helicopters, low flying aircraft and hired cowboys, began rounding up Bundy's cattle in northeastern Clark County. Bundy stated to the media, "I have raised cattle on that land, which is public land for the people of Clark County, all my life. Why I raise cattle there and why I can raise cattle there is because I have preemptive rights... who is the trespasser here? Who is the trespasser on this land? Is the United States trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Or is it Cliven Bundy who is trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Who's the trespasser?" More than 100 supporters violated a crudely taped off "First Amendment Area" to rally in support of the Bundy family. They erected two flagpoles with the words "We the People" above a flag which read, "Liberty Freedom For God We Stand". The first amendment area stood empty, with one sign nearby declaring, "1st Amendment is not an area." The feds say the move is about enforcing the law and protecting the endangered desert tortoise, but the Bundy family says the spat represents a showdown between big government and American farmers. The Feds claim that the removal of the cattle from the land will cost taxpayers roughly $ 3 million.
