A nation may refer to a community of people who share a common language, culture, ethnicity, descent, or history. In this definition, a nation has no physical borders. However, it can also refer to people who share a common territory and government (for example the inhabitants of a sovereign state) irrespective of their ethnic make-up. In international relations, nation can refer to a country or sovereign state. The word nation can more specifically refer to people of North American Indians, such as the Cherokee Nation that prefer this term over the contested term tribe.
According to Joseph Stalin writing in 1913 in Marxism and the National Question: "a nation is not a racial or tribal, but a historically constituted community of people;" "a nation is not a casual or ephemeral conglomeration, but a stable community of people;" "a common language is one of the characteristic features of a nation;" "a nation is formed only as a result of lengthy and systematic intercourse, as a result of people living together generation after generation;" "a common territory is one of the characteristic features of a nation;" "a common economic life, economic cohesion, is one of the characteristic features of a nation;" "a common psychological make-up, which manifests itself in a common culture, is one of the characteristic features of a nation;" "A nation is a historically constituted, stable community of people, formed on the basis of a common language, territory, economic life, and psychological make-up manifested in a common culture." According to Stalin, this would exclude Jews as they have no common territory.

In 2005, Kanye West was doing a radio interview at 102.7 FM. Hearing about this, Sean headed over to the station to meet West and perform some free-style. Initially Kanye was reluctant to hear the emcee, however he gave Sean 16 bars to rap for him, eventually according to Big Sean "As we get to the entrance of the radio station ... we stopped in the middle of the doorway. He starts looking at me and bobbing his head,". He left a demo-tape as well. Two years later, West finally signed Big Sean to GOOD Music.

The show is over
still hear the ringing in your ears
another day on the road and no time for fears
The lights turned off
the stage is cleared and empty
the enery level you had turned down completely
PRE-CHORUS:
hots nights of thunder
all fists up in the air
CHORUS:
We are the wild creation
and we will rock this town
we gonna rock the nation
so shout it out loud
A thousand miles away from home
you're locked inside the circus
Stragefright you try to stay cool and not getting nervous
the countdown starts, a few second to go, all hell breaks loose
and you're giving all that you can and sometimes even more
PRE CHORUS:
hots nights of thunder
all fists up in the air
CHORUS:
We are the wild creation
and we will rock this town
we gonna rock the nation
and there is no doubt
we are no strange sensation
but wanna teach you loud
we gonna rock the nation
and there is no doubt
B-PART
This is your life and it means all to you
Fed up with all the pretending
Not to see your changes
No more act of cool and mature
Time after time
I dream in peaceful seclusion
Like a child
Ah - joyfully playing ooh yeah!!
Ah - smiles that brings cheer
Are you ready to rock Can't you see it
Keep on Rockin'
Get up and Rockin' the nation
Wavering illusion
Won't stop telling love nor stop these tears
Time after time
I dream in peaceful seclusion
Rock the nation [x8]
We livin' in a mean time and an agressive time
a painful time where cynicism rots the vine
In a time where violence blocks the summer shine
Lifetimes go by in a flash, in a search for love
In a search for cash, everybody wanna be some fat tycoon
Everybody wanna be on a tropic honeymoon
Nobody wanna sing a bit out of tune
or be the backbone of a rebel platoon
It's too soon to step out of line
You might get laughed at you might get fined
But do you feel me when I say I feel pain everyday
When I see the way my friends gotta slave
and never get ahead of bills they gotta pay
No way no way!
Some make a living doing killing Colombian penicillin
Some are willing to play the villan they just chillin'
To pass the time, pass the information or pass the vine
Pass the buck or pass the baton, but you can't pass the police or the
pentagon, the I.R.S. or the upper echelon
I think it's time to make a move on the contradiction
[chorus]
Bom-Bom, rock the nation
take over television and radio station
Bom-Bom the truth shall come
give the corporation some complication!
say ooh-ooh (rock the nation)
This is the dawning of our time I say it one more time
To emphasize the meaning of my rhyme
To rise above all the dirt and the grime
add the right spice at the right time
Fuck the constitution
Are we part of the solution or are we part of the pollution
Sittin' by and wonderin' why
Things ain't the way we like to find them to be, to be
For you and for me the people over there and the ones in between
Check our habitation are we peace lovin' nation, peace lovin' nation
I have a reasonable doubt
I think I'll just spell it out
There's no need to scream or to shout
The N.R.A. just bought a man's soul
then he jumps up and shouts gun control
The government says that killin' is a sin
Unless you kill a murderer with a lethal syringe
So I ask again "are we peace lover's then"
Some of them slang guns when they six years old
some of them end up in some six foot hole
This whole damn place seems to, lost control
So I raise my voice before I lose my soul
[chorus]
This is the way I'll express my feelings
Vibe revealed and revolved spinnin on a record y'all
Try to confiscate take what I communicate
with it's ancient gift of the lip steady creating
Activating passin vocal vibrations to the blind plus the seeing
Human doesn't mean just being
Be coming don't believe it just belife it
Belongings or beloved rehearse it or recite it
While shining drop your guns and move your tongues
battle motivation in no time lyrics come
Sometimes fun others run their mouth or away
My minds co beaming like an early sunray
one day we'll get the picture and all combine
Less the talking bout mines is mine and become one mind
Every piece of the puzzle has its place
To build the piece of the puzzle called the human race
Taking it long enough we crush the formal journalistic dyslexic critters
talk backwords to rap words
I'm sure raising my hands with questions and demands statements and a plan
with a map of the land
Have you heard it's the new sensation
Bringing magic in the air
It feeds your imagination
Put the colour everywhere
Bright lights, blue smoke
Whatever turns you on
Push your body through the crowd
Get close where the music's loud
Looking through your magazine
Turn the pages, find your favourite dream
Rock ‘n' Roll hanging on your bedroom wall
Turn the lights out, dream about the show
1, 2, 3, 4
Rock... Rock the nation
Rock... Rock the crowd
Rock... Rock the nation
Rock... Play it loud
We cross the seven seas
To satisfy your needs
We're playing in your town
We'll burn it to the ground
Strike you like the Blitz, ooh yeah
Feel the power coming from the stage
Rock 'n' roll generation going wild
See the action, sing it with the band
1, 2, 3, 4
Rock... Rock the nation
Rock... Rock the crowd
Rock... Rock the nation

You know it´s dangerous
That the boys are back in town
Gonna Party all night long
We´re gonna rock you up and down
No matter what they think
What lies they try to say
We´re still gonna rock your town
From a hundret miles away
The fires in my venes there´s a burning in my Soul
Take a look into my eyes let yourself go
Push it into second gear I´ll take you to overdrive
And when we come Tonight
No ones getting out alive
Chorus
Rock the Nation
Come on everybody if you wanna ride
Rock the Nation
No ones gonna tell us how to party Tonight
Rock the Nation
bang your Heads till you feel alive
Live free or die
There´s no way to push me down
No way to tame a wild beast
You can try to bring the cold
There´s always heat between the sheets
And if you walk this way
No one can tell you how to be
You can ask the old blind man
And he will teach you how to see
I will never leave this life thinking I went wrong
And though they try to push me away
I know where I belong
Tell ém that you´re here to stay
And that you never lost a fight
And when come to town
No ones getting out alive
Chorus
I never Really cared what they wanted me to be
I never really saw just what they wanted me to see
They never really listened to me
And everything I told them
Ignorance is not the solution to the problem
tellin´me that everything I did was wrong
Trying to cinvince me
That this is not where I belong
Feeding me this empty bullshit all along
Rock´n´Roll is life when everything is gone
We are just shadows
Crawling through this micro alley
But I am hungry for your love
And I am starving for a better time
But that? s all we got here
That? s all we know
That? s all we? ve become
Our recognition
Yeah well we be walking in
Some kind of direction
In a line with our right foot first
Yes we? re waiting for some material heaven
That will, that will quench our thirst
But that? s all we got here
That? s all we know
That? s all we? ve become
Our recognition
And I don? t know what to do
About holding my head high
I am struggling to breathe through all these
In between times
And I am wondering why
I am wondering why
And I was born into this place
That filters who we are
By what we have done
Yes I know I am a product of this institution
That? s all I got yeah
That? s all I know
That? s all i? ve become
My recognition oh
And I don? t know what to do
About holding my head high
I am struggling to breathe through all these
In between times
And I am wondering why
Nobody knows
this place of mine
the nights sad and long
after that time
I remember forever
from that very first time
what keeps us together
what's bringing us here
I believe in you
Ooh I just wanted you
While Pharao is watching
I'm following my guide
swallowed by the crowd
Rock the nation
Can you hear me sing it
One more time
In a place long ago
On a land where we fight to be free
The voices of music was scarce to the minds
Something new, it was yet to be heard
Distant voices across the waters
brought the gift from far away lands
To soothe their minds, to soothe their souls
The people danced and danced
Can you hear me sing
Rock the nation
Can you hear me saying
One more time
Can you hear me say it
Can you hear me say
One more time tonight
Time prospered and people grew
Compositions multiplied
The sound waves across the land
From city to the mountainside
All the visions of the masters
Sent the sound through the air
And through it all rock emerged
And now rock lives everywhere
Can you hear me sing
Rock the nation
Can you hear me saying
One more time
Can you hear me say it
Can you hear me say
One more time tonight
All the people of the nation
Gather round and hear the song
Hear the sound, the pulse is racing
There's something for everyone
All around the people we know
We can do what we want to do
Anyplace you want to go
We know we have the right to be free
Can you hear me sing
Rock the nation
Can you hear me saying
One more time
Can you hear me say it
Can you hear me say it
