Maduro may refer to:
Nicolás Maduro Moros (born 23 November 1962 in Caracas) is a Venezuelan politician who was appointed foreign minister by President Hugo Chávez on 9 August 2006.
Nicolas Maduro began his political career as a bus driver and unofficial trade-unionist representing the workers of the Caracas Metro system in the 1970s and 1980s (back then, unions within the Metro company were not allowed). He finished high school in the Liceo Avalos, a public high-school west of Caracas during the '80 (El Valle neighborhood), but lacks any university or further education. He is considered one of the founders of the Fifth Republic Movement (MVR), but his biggest political accomplishment was as activist for the release of Hugo Chávez from prison, and later as one of this regional political coordinators during the 1998 presidential race. Maduro was elected on the MVR ticket to the Venezuelan Chamber of Deputies in 1998, to the National Constituent Assembly in 1999, and to the National Assembly in 2000 and 2005, representing the Capital District. The legislature elected him Speaker of the Assembly, even though he did not have a college degree or formal education. He held that position from 2005 until the first half of 2006. Maduro is married to Cilia Flores, herself a prominent figure within the MVR. She replaced Maduro as Speaker of assembly.
María Conchita Alonso (born June 29, 1957), better known as María Conchita, is a Venezuelan Grammy Award–nominated singer and actress.
María Conchita Alonso was born María Concepción Alonso Bustillo in Cienfuegos, Cuba, the daughter of Ricardo Alonso and Maria Conchita Bustillo. Her family moved to Venezuela when she was five years old, in 1962. She had her first experience in show business when she was crowned Miss Teenager of the World in 1971, and was Miss World/Venezuela in 1975 where she became sixth runner-up in the Miss World pageant won by Puerto Rico's Wilnelia Merced; she quickly became a top model and a popular singer/actress in Venezuela.[citation needed]
Alonso's first gold album and number one song in the charts was "Love Maniac" in 1979, her name as a singer back then was A'mbar, after that followed her second number 1 with "The Witch" and soon after "Dangerous Rhythm". In what is generally considered to be her best known song, she was asked by Giorgio Moroder to write the lyrics in Spanish and sing "Vamos a Bailar" which he had written to be part of the soundtrack for the film Scarface. The song instantly became a classic amongst Spanish speakers despite failing to garner any major attention outside of Cuba where it was recorded. As her two albums with Ambar and her solo debut were recorded in English, it was her second album "Maria Conchita" from 1984 that made her a singing star in the Spanish-speaking market, receiving a "Best Latin Artist" Grammy nomination for it in 1985[citation needed].
Raúl di Blasio (born November 14, 1949) is an Argentine latin jazz and easy listening pianist.
Born in Zapala, Argentina, Raúl Di Blasio showed a great interest in piano at the age of six. After his parents' recommendations that he should study music, he began to pursue piano as a career.
Di Blasio practiced piano alongside his teachers for more than four years. Having difficulty in purchasing a piano, he also relied on readily available sources of music such as whistling with his father, which helped develop the sort of melodies he employs in his work.
This was the beginning of Di Blasio's career in music. He had early formation in the Classic Technique, but he equally enjoys popular music. He admits that when he was 17 years old he was part of the rock movement with phenomena such as The Beatles. However, his parents asked him to pursue university studies and have a degree-based career in his life.
The next step for him was to leave his hometown and go to Buenos Aires, where at age 20, he began practicing music 12 hours straight per day. He comments: "I felt the wings on my fingers"[citation needed].
It broke my heart for me,
To find out what I've done,
It took a lot for me,
To see how far you've come.
And I don't want to play the villain,
In this story anymore,
With the way the light is hitting me,
That's all I'm good for.
Cause I was bending,
Through the ether and it,
Seemed like someone else's life,
Got caught up in the moment,
When you know,
That nothing else is right,
And now I'll walk away.
I've had some room to breathe,
And time to understand,
I can't hold you fragile heart,
When I have clumsy hands.
If the lesson doesn't sting enough,
I might have lost a friend,
And it's a terrifying thought,
I'll never be this close again.
Could it be that i'm alone,
Living in a place,
That's not my home,
I could meet you halfway.
Cause I was bending,
Through the ether and it,
Seemed like someone else's life,
Got caught up in the moment,
When you know,
That nothing else is right,
And now I'll walk away.
Could it be that I'm alone,
Living in a place,
That's not my home,
I could meet you halfway.
