Chedwyn Michael "Ched" Evans (born 28 December 1988) is a Welsh footballer who last played for Sheffield United as a striker.
Born in St Asaph, Denbighshire, Evans was an inexperienced youth striker with Manchester City, when he arrived at Norwich City on loan in 2007. He made a major impact during his time at Carrow Road, scoring 10 goals in 28 league appearances, before returning to his parent club. He was subsequently sold to Sheffield United for £3,000,000 in 2009. Evans scored on his debut for Wales in 2008, and has so far scored twice in his 13 appearances.
On 20 April 2012, Evans was convicted of rape and sentenced to five years imprisonment. Evans maintains his innocence and has lodged an appeal.
Born in Rhyl, Denbighshire, Evans began his playing career in Rhyl and was spotted by highly respected football scout John Reardon. Evans spent several years scoring many goals in Chester City's youth set-up before it folded. He scored the winning goal in the Nathan Fennah Memorial game at the Deva Stadium in Chester City's U12s' 1–0 win against Wigan U12s. Evans played and starred for Moss Valley Rovers in many summer tournaments in the North West.
Richard Pendlebury (1847, Liverpool – 1902) was a British mathematician, musician and bibliophile.
He went up to St John's College, Cambridge in 1866 and graduated senior wrangler in 1870: he was then elected to a college fellowship. He was appointed University Lecturer in Mathematics in 1888. He collected early mathematical books and printed music, donating his collections to his college and university. His presentation of a collection of music books and manuscripts to the Fitzwilliam Museum stimulated the formation of the Music Faculty at Cambridge University.
Charlotte "Charlie" Webster (born 9 November 1982 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire) is an English television presenter.
Webster attended Tapton School in Sheffield where she participated in elite junior athletics and went on to study Language and Linguistics at Newcastle University. At University, she volunteered at a young offender's institute introducing youngsters to sport to help improve their confidence. At Newcastle, she worked as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, amateur model and actress.
Following university, Webster took up modelling professionally.
Webster moved to Spain as a TV presenter for Real Madrid TV interviewing the Galactico team and presenting football. In 2006, she moved to Asia to join ESPN where she presented live Premier League football in addition to motorsport and Asian football.
Upon moving back to the UK, Webster presented Setanta Sports News and ITV4's Live GP2 coverage. At the end of the motorsport season, she became a sports broadcast journalist for BBC Look East. This lasted for just a few months and she moved on to present the Red Bull Air Race worldwide for ITV4. In addition to this she is the voice of Channel 4's World Superbikes highlight show.
Judith "Judy" Finnigan (born 16 May 1948) is a British television presenter and columnist. She has usually co-presented with her husband, Richard Madeley, and the two are collectively known, informally, as Richard and Judy. With her husband, Finnigan has presented This Morning and later their daily chat show called Richard & Judy.
Finnigan was born in the Parish of Newton Heath, Manchester on 16 May 1948. She attended the local Briscoe Lane Primary School whose alumni include Michael Atherton OBE, Michael Le Vell (TV actor), Baron Morris of Manchester, Sir Harold Evans (former Editor of The Times and The Sunday Times) and Paul Red (journalist). Finnigan then went on to attend Manchester High School for Girls, an independent school in the city, and later studied English and Drama at Bristol University. She joined Granada Television as a researcher in 1971, and in 1974 moved to Anglia TV in Norwich to become the first female reporter on the About Anglia news team. In 1980 she returned to Granada in Manchester, working on a range of programmes including Flying Start (with Anthony Wilson), Granada Reports and Scramble.
