The Irish Times is an Irish daily broadsheet newspaper launched on 29 March 1859. The editor is Kevin O'Sullivan who succeeded Geraldine Kennedy in 2011; the deputy editor is Paul O'Neill. The Irish Times is considered to be Ireland's newspaper of record, and is published every day except Sundays. It employs 420 people.
Though formed as a Protestant Nationalist paper, within two decades and under new owners it had become the voice of Irish Unionism. Today it is no longer considered a Unionist paper; it is generally perceived as being politically liberal and progressive, as well as being right-wing on economic issues.
The paper's most prominent columnists include writer and arts commentator Fintan O'Toole and the satirist Miriam Lord. Former Taoiseach, Garret FitzGerald was also a columnist. Senior international figures, including Tony Blair, Bill Clinton and others have written for its op-ed page. Its most prominent columns have included Drapier (an anonymous column produced weekly by a politician, giving the 'insider' view of politics); Rite and Reason, a weekly religious column, edited by Patsy McGarry, Religious Affairs Editor; and the long-running "An Irishman's Diary", previously penned by Patrick Campbell in the forties (under the pseudonym 'Quidnunc'), Seamus Kelly from 1949-1979 (also writing as 'Quidnunc'), and more recently by Kevin Myers. Since the latter's move to the rival Irish Independent, "An Irishman's Diary" is now usually the work of Frank McNally. On the sports pages, Philip Reid is the paper's golf correspondent.
David James Gandy (born 19 February 1980 in Billericay, Essex, England) is an English model.
Gandy began modeling in 2002 after winning a daytime-TV model search competition (organized by Richard and Judy). At the time he had a job delivering cars to a car magazine. Gandy then signed with Public Image Worldwide, modeling mostly for catalog work in the UK market before making top model status for Dolce & Gabbana. He has appeared in numerous campaigns and catwalk shows for the luxury brand and has worked with supermodels such as Gemma Ward and Naomi Campbell . He is best known for his advert with Dolce & Gabbana's fragrance "Light Blue" which had 11million online hits and saw a 50 ft poster of him grace Times Square. He also modeled for the luxury brand's 2008 calendar, shot by top photographer, Mariano Vivanco. He returned to become the face of the second Light Blue fragrance campaign for 2010.
Other campaigns he's worked for include: 7 for all Mankind, Shiatzy Chen, Zara, Ermenegildo Zegna, and Stefanel. He also appeared on covers for VMan and L’Optimum and editorials for Harper's Bazaar and Spanish Glamour. In November of 2011, he appeared on the cover of Details (magazine) which was shot by photographer Norman Jean Roy. He modeled for Banana Republic's Spring 2012 collection. On 26 June 2009, Forbes Magazine ranked Gandy as the world's third most successful male model, behind Matt Gordon and Sean O'Pry.
David McSavage (born David Andrews Jr.) is an Irish comedy writer and performer. He has been performing at national and international comedy festivals such as the Kilkenny Comedy Festival, and appeared on Irish television comedy programmes, including The Savage Eye. He is the son of an Irish politician, David Andrews, brother of former Fianna Fáil politician Barry Andrews and first cousin of Irish television and radio presenter Ryan Tubridy.
He is known for street performance on streets in Dublin city centre, and has been arrested for casual trading on Grafton Street as he was selling copies of his DVD whilst performing in a minuscule posing pouch. His routine consists of improvised songs often predicated on speculation about the lives of those passing by, occasionally in an extremely offensive and insulting manner.
In 2008, McSavage devised and featured in Headwreckers, an episode of Channel 4's Comedy Lab show. In 2009, he piloted a comedy show on RTÉ Two TV channel called The Savage Eye (part of the Project Ha Ha series). McSavage went on to write for and act in a further five The Savage Eye programmes. The series was directed by Kieron Walsh and Damien O'Donnell. The series was commissioned and the first episode of the new season was broadcast on Monday 11/1/11. It and the second episode can be seen viewed on the RTÉ Player website. It is a six-part comedy sketch series which offers a satirical and often surreal examination of its subject matter.

In the Land of the Patagarang
(Gerry O'Beirne)
In the land of Patagarang the murkies are dreaming
In the land of Patagarang they don't know who we are
In the land of Patagarang the murkies are dreaming
In the land of Patagarang we'll sail into the bay
I'm going with my peculiar
To a place of infinite space
With the mollies and punks and fluters
Buzz gloaks and star glazers
They'll turn you into a creature, if you're not strong
A man with marsupial features, on the horizon
For impersonating an Egyptian you go to the land
Of the Patagarang Patagarang
In the land of Patagarang the crow lies backwards
In the land of Patagarang the stars are upside down
God botherers pray repentance
Politicals and yobs
Goodbye to independance
Welcome to the mobs
They'll turn you into a creature, if you're not strong
A man with marsupial features, on the horizon
For impersonating an Egyptian you go to the land
