Lee Clark (footballer)

Lee Robert Clark (born 27 October 1972) is an English football manager and former player. He currently manages Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock, having been appointed in February 2016.

As a player, Clark had two spells at Newcastle United, and was their reserve team manager and coach after he retired. He also played for Sunderland and Fulham, and made 11 appearances for the England under-21 team. He was manager of Huddersfield Town for three years and of Birmingham City for two.

Club career

Newcastle United

Born in Wallsend, North Tyneside, Clark started his career at the club he supported as a boy, Newcastle United coming up through the youth system at the club. In 1993 he was part of the Newcastle side promoted to the Premier League as champions and then helped them finish runners-up two seasons in a row. He made nearly 200 appearances scoring 23 goals for Newcastle in his first spell at the club.

Sunderland

Clark moved to Newcastle's local rivals, First Division club Sunderland, in 1997, and was part of the side promoted to the Premier League in 1999 as champions with a (then) professional league record of 105 points. A year earlier, he had been a key player in the side that reached the First Division play-off final, only to suffer a penalty shoot-out defeat to Charlton Athletic after a 4–4 draw at Wembley.

The Amazing Spiez!

The Amazing Spiez! (French: SpieZ! Nouvelle Génération) is a French/Canadian animated television series produced by the French company Marathon Media and the Canadian company Image Entertainment Corporation. Originally broadcast on Teletoon. It is a spinoff of Totally Spies!. The show first aired on one of its original channels, TF1, on April 1, 2009, although it had already begun airing on March 15, 2009 on Disney Channel (Asia). The Series was premiered and broadcast originally on Teletoon in Canada. Since September 2010, it premiered on weekdays at 6am and 11:05am. The series premiered internationally on Cartoon Network in the USA on April 26, 2010 at 8:30am(ET). After running 10 episodes the series moved to 5:00pm(ET). For Season 2, premieres were moved to 8:30am. Later, on May 25, 2012, it was announced that "The Amazing Spiez!" would premiere its series finale.

Development

The series was first inspired to make a spy show but for Family and Kids also a series wanted something similar to Totally Spies! So Vincent Chalvon-Demersary and David Michel started the series. The series was in production and build by production company Marathon Media and was also co production company Image Entertainment Corporation with in association and aired on TF1 and Teletoon. The Funds were assistance from The Canadian Film or Video Production Tax credit, Quebec Film or Television production tax credit, Telefilm Canada and Bell Fund.

Clark (mascot)

Clark is the official team mascot of Major League Baseball's Chicago Cubs. He was announced on January 13, 2014 as the first official mascot in the modern history of the Cubs franchise. He was introduced that day at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center's pediatric developmental center along with some of the Cubs' top prospects such as number one draft pick Kris Bryant and Albert Almora, Jorge Soler, Mike Olt and Eric Jokisch. Over a dozen Cubs prospects were attending the Cubs' Rookie Development Program that week. The Cubs become the 27th team in Major League Baseball to have a mascot, leaving the Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees as the remaining franchises without mascots. According to the Cubs' press release, Clark is a response to fan demands (expressed via surveys and interviews) for more kid-friendly elements at Wrigley Field Cubs games to keep pace with games in other cities that have more to offer youth fans.

Description

He is a "young, friendly Cub" who will wear a backwards baseball cap and greet fans entering Wrigley Field, which is located at the corner of Clark Street (for which he is named) and Addison Street. North Clark Street borders the third base side of Wrigley Field. According to the Cubs, the fictional character Clark is descended from Joa, the franchise's original live Bears mascot in 1916.
